Dell doesn't deliver

I ordered a Dell laptop and some accessories. The accesories were delivered by Fedex after about a week. After about two weeks I was notified my laptop was shipping, but I would need to be home from 8am-8pm to sign for it. I stayed home all day Friday. I got a notification from Fedex no one was home at 4:50 pm when they tried to deliver. Not only was I home and sitting 10 feet from the front door, we have an American Bulldog that goes ballistic when delivery people approach our home. I called FEDEX. Dell sets it up so the consumer has no options to manage delivery. So I had to stay home from 8-8 on Saturday. All Day and early evening Saturday. I even called FEDEX and they told me to wait. Still, no delivery. I had to stay home from 8-8 on Monday, no delivery, no door tag, no nothing. We get packages delivered almost daily with no issues from Amazon, etc. We even had an Amazon package delivered the Sunday while Dell and FEDEX couldn't execute. Maybe they should both take a lesson. I am a CEO of a tech company. We will not be buying Dell at home or office. Dell's delivery experience is excruciatingly painful.

I felt strongly to write a review on my Dell experience ..I have to say that the customer service is terrible..having recently tried to purchase a Dell laptop only to be told that it would be 3 weeks instead of the 1-3 days stated on the website...was given a written/email for a order with a price promise for 30 days only to be told 2 days later when I tried to order that they could not keep their promise and tried to rise the price by 20%..why promise this and then back track?..having now read other reviews on this company im glad I did not proceed with the purchase..if this is the treatment you get from the start..what sort of service would one get once a purchased has been made..I suggest thinking twice before ordering

Tech support charged me $170 to walk me…

Tech support charged me $170 to walk me through a software issue which was slowing my laptop to a snails pace and provide one year of follow-up support. Their fix which involved reinstalling the OS (they thought it was corrupt) then restoring 100,000 files failed to correct the problem and took up two days of my ever shorting life. I'm no Geek but desperation does bring out the best in me. I was able, with the help of the internet, to determine that I simply had too many apps running in the background causing the problem and it was a simple fix involving turning off a bunch of switches. Laptop runs great now. Tried to get a refund from Dell and got tossed back and forth between customer service (loosely speaking) and Tech Support (loosely speaking). Tech said CS had to resolve and CS said Tech was responsible ( this ping ponged for about an hour through 5 or 6 rounds). To make matters worse both Tech and Customer support are maned from India and with heavy speech dialects. It was impossible understand about 30% of what they said and difficult with the remaining 70%. (to be fair they were polite and repeated themselves as often as necessary) I wanted to connect with someone at Dell the speaks English without dialect to resolve this but website is so restrictive I couldn't get past ( you guessed it ) Tech Support or Customer Service. This is far from my first Dell computer but most probably my last. Can anyone suggest a route to getting a refund from Dell???????????????????????

DO NOT BUY!

Bought my laptop last year. Within 2 months the battery goes bad and says no battery detected. So I sent it in, got it back and the laptop worked for a week. Then the same issue, no battery detected. Then the speakers go bad, mouse pad glitches. Send it in a second time. Got it back, my ac adapter comes back frayed and fried! Screen is popping off, mouse pad still does not work, sane with the speakers! So I send it in for a third time! The tech over the phone said it was ok that I sent in my universal adaptor from Best Buy, and that they would repair all stated above. I get a call 4 days later after they got it and said that they can’t do the repair cause I don’t have the original ac adapter! Wanted to charge me over $100 for the repair! Then the tech saw the notes and said it would take another 3-4 days. Took over a week! I get it back today, the shipping box has no damage. I open it, and some glass falls out, then I open the laptop and the screen is completely shattered and not to mention the $60 adapter I bought from Best Buy is now damaged! I spent about $900 on the laptop itself and I am furious! Now they are telling me it’ll take another 3-4 days to get back to me about what they can do for me... I will never buy another dell product ever!!!! And the woman was rude and I kept asking for a supervisor repeatedly. She refused till the very last minute. He didn’t even state his name just said “this is the supervisor” no name or anything. And the man who told me that they were going to charge me over $100, even though it was under warranty and that I got the ok for the non dell ac adaptor. He was very rude and short. Started to yell at me over the phone and then read the notes or something and said “fine we will fix it, 3-4 days it’ll come back to you.” Then hung up on me. Also the paperwork that came back stated that my repair was denied along with my laptop being completely damaged and my ac adapter ruined! No description on why the repair was denied. Never stated any other damage to my laptop. I am disgusted on how this whole situation is being dealt with! And my warranty ends in September, so I bet I won’t hear from them until after my warranty expires... EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS SINCE I GOT MY LAPTOP!

My computer didn't work properly from the first day I bought it. They tried to repair it and didn't work after that too. I said I want my money back , they said that is not possible . I am so disappointed and broke over this company! I sent my Dell Inspiron 17 touchscreen in for repair while it was still under warranty. While it was in their care, the warranty expired. They sent it back, and the touchscreen no longer worked. I am unable to download a driver for it because the new motherboard they put it is not compatible (they put it in a less expensive type). They will not fix it or honor their repair without more money, because they state it is no longer under warranty. In addition, the fan constantly runs that cools the motherboard. This was also supposed to be fixed, and it was not. I have reached out to them repeatedly, and they ignore me or offer more expensive warranties.

Machine broke after a year (motherboard manufacturing defect with power rails, not user damage). On site warranty not honored. 2 months later, Gerard James and Karan Haresh extremely condescending, personally insulting, and unprofessional. Computer returned twice with multiple components damaged - the SSD the second time.

The Advanced Resolution group is your worst nightmare as a client, and until DELL fixes this department and their attitude towards clients, the brand is completely worthless.

I do not see why so much negative review out there for basically everything regarding DELL, I do have some monitor from the still, I do not remember the model but I do like every minute of it. No matter what the case is. I do not really understand whole wave of negative, it couldn't be that bad for DELL!

Dell needs to put up a better place and technical crew
1) To start with crew is absent half the time, then their behaviour is very unwelcoming
And the place is hard to find

2) The feed back system regarding calling or dropping messages is not at all there
The customer has to call 100 times to confirm the status because the technical crew does not get back with the status.

3) the date promised has got no meaning
The understanding of value of time of customer is absent

4) when enquired about the status and repair done on laptop
The crew (Mr Anup) has Hot no decency how to talk to the lady and very insultingly replying back that there is network issue at the service centre thats why he could not help in informing the customer on time

5) atleast the crew should be sensitised for their behaviour especially with the ladies

The location and distance feels less if the behaviour of crew is welcoming and helping but the present situation is very alarming. And needs immediate improvement with respect to the above mentioned issues

Abysmal International Support

I recently bought a Dell XPS in Asia just before traveling to South America. There were some issues with it (nothing that couldn't probably be resolved), but the issue was with Dell Technical support. Nobody in the U.S. was interested in helping me. They were far more interested in making sure I called the right geographical unit. The Philippines never responded to the ticket I submitted online and the South American unit never answered the phone. I finally got action by sending a FedEx letter to one of their senior VPs at corporate HQ. And I was called by a South American Dell tech who honestly didn't seem very competent. I watched him fumble around remotely on my laptop for almost an hour - doing nothing more than I had already done. And there was never any really definitive resolution on my problems. But I never even got any sort of apology or contact from Dell on the fact it was so problematic contacting Dell in the first place. I will never purchase a Dell again.

all you can talk to is India or the Philippines. Mike Dell professional con artist. He uses people of shore because they don't know our laws and say its out of warranty. This machine is a piece of JUNK. Mike Dell should move to India take his business there to He is a crook.
I'm going to 7 on my side. Its been fixed 6 times in the last year. Now they are telling me its out of warranty. Stay far away from dell. Also the stars you see on the dell site are phooey they manipulate the reviews that's why they are not in google. Twelve hundred dollar piece of junk. The rep told me i can format the drive so i did i could not be leave for a 1200 dollar machine gaming that is case weighs 20 pounds and internals about 3 pounds. They use the case for weight so you think you are getting a deal. You aren't BUILD YOUR OWN MACHINE ITS EASY. It casts you less money download ubuntu it comes with the motherboard dvd. Way faster than microsoft. You can get solid state drives instead of 7200rpm you get instantaneous reaction. Even Business Machines you can build
anything you want. BE LEAVE ME NO MORE DELL

I had purchased dell laptop in 2017 when i was purchasing that time i was promised that there is warranty if something happens then dell will take care.Then within a year i faced the battery issue of heating up,then i contacted dell for support.then while doing trouble shooting they did some basic type of shooting (which a small kid can also do)and told me that there is nothing problem later again the same issue came then again i contacted them then when they were not able to rectify it they simple shared me the term and conditions page which was of 2-3 page mentioning that as per the term and conditions ur problem dnt comes under the warranty so we will not rectify free but if u want to be done pay 4000 and we will do.Being in warranty period they were asking money.Then after some days some other problems araised then i contacted them again then also they told that pay the money then only we will do .Everytime when i have called then for warranty claiming they simple asked for the money mention about the term and condition.There is no use of having warranty.ITs showoff for trapping customer so that there product shuld be sold in the compititive market.

Recently when i hade purchased dell DVD Rw then also the same story.First they told that ur product warranty is already expired later they told it is there but ur problem is common everyody faces the same issue so we will ignore it...

machines arrive way after they are promised, sometimes with ongoing delays. It seems they dont have all the machines they are selling or else they have to repair some but get super delayed in doing so.
Some machines I have bought are perfect, one refurb has some issues that Im unclear but suspicious are faults, and I've cancelled one machine purchased because it got delayed several times by several weeks each. Wont bother again.

I spent no less than a total of 5 hours on the pone with agents from the sales, financial, and technical department at Dell trying to purchase a computer and clear up the fact that I was charged twice for Microsoft Windows. No one in one department has any idea of what anyone in another department is doing, so with each call, one has to start over, as the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.
The computer itself is great. But I would never buy anything that required me to do business on the phone with Dell. I wrote a letter to the CEO and someone called me ...finally cleared it up, with no apology till I asked for one. Forget about Dell.

extremely frustrated!!! WORST CUSTOMER CARE EVER!!! Simply trying to reach someone to expedite this being shipped in time for daughters bday gift on July 26. 2 hours on phone speaking with variety of employees whom I could not understand at all...I continually asked for supervisor, was then put on hold for over 30min. Only to call back and go through process again & again to then be told all supervisors are in a meeting and to call back tomorrow. After hours of frustration!!!!Then called back yet again and tried to cancel order so I can go buy another laptop so she can have the gift on bday and was told it cannot be cancelled. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I was transferred 6 times to end up at the same person. This issue was likely due to the poor communication skills of the people I spoke with. I was told what my problem was and told I was being transferred to someone who could address it. This person would tell me they couldn't and transfer me. I was also told completely opposite things by different reps. I'll never buy anything from them again.
