Medium.com sharing its webserver with multiple other websites. For smaller websites this is quite normal. They do not need all the computer power and internet bandwidth all the time. In this way the can share the costs of the infrastructure with multiple other sites.

We discovered that the website is rated as popular by Alexa with a score of 136. This means that the website is visited by quite a lot of people. In addition other websites find this website interesting and relevant and are linking to it. As a result we increased our review score.

We checked several review sites to find Medium.com reviews like Sitejabber, Resellerrating and Trustpilot. Mainly positive comments were found. We believe reviews are an essential part of being a reliable website and therefor increased our trust rating for this website.

Continual Complaining

Most articles are more grocery store tabloid than enlightening. It is often difficult to sort fact from fiction due to the absence of proper citations and expertise. Creativity is refreshing; however, an absence of competence while creating is simply wrong. In addition, the continual complaining and droning on and on about the negative characteristics of humanity in America is tiresome. Most written messages are perpetually unkind and whiny which is demeaning to the art of journalism. There are millions of decent people living in the United States of America doing worthy deeds in this land and throughout the world. Look for some positivity in life. It is prevalent everywhere. Name-calling and meanness fester in the soul – stop spreading it.

THIS COMPANY STEALS CONTENT FROM…

THIS COMPANY STEALS CONTENT FROM PUBLISHERS!!! I run an independent Apple-centric website. One of my highest ranking pages was completely plagiarized by these crooks. They stole the content verbatim. When I contacted them, they just posted that I wrote the article. That doesn't make it right. They stole my article, they're ranking higher with it, and it has affected my revenue. I NEVER CONSENTED TO HAVE MY ARTICLE STOLEN!

If you're a publisher, make sure to check your top ranking articles to see if you have been usurped by these crooks.

Google needs to rank these guys down big time. I have reported their plagiarism to Google. Simply search for "report plagiarism to Google" to find out how to do this. Let's take these black hat crooks down...

Medium is the best Medium

As a writer/blogger I'm pretty happy with Medium. They've nailed it with the UI. They only other blogging platform that comes close in the intuitiveness and flexibility is Minds.com.

I organically built a following on Medium and my articles are viewed nearly 100,000 monthly. Of that my articles are read in full by about 20,000 monthly. Not bad! I think a lot of my medium traffic comes from SEO. Medium search results seem to appear pretty high in Google.

I'm not a social justice blogger, in fact my writing on Medium is not very political at all so I'm not benefiting from any bias that their editorial team has.

Off the frontpage Medium is a decent place for ideas. Compared with Twitter or Facebook you can probably write about politically incorrect viewpoints and you won't be egregiously censored in my experience.

terrible writers that are pushing propaganda and ideology as hard as they can. And they are recommended by the editorial staff... Totally biased and no nuanced points whatsoever.

Medium is a huge step up from previous…

Medium is a huge step up from previous blogging platforms. Wordpress was so extremely awkward to use - full of tech problems you had to figure out before you even start blogging. Blogger was pretty awkward too. Medium did what blogging platforms should've thought of long ago - just let you type away, right there, without any tech headaches to figure out beforehand.

However, Medium isn't exactly a free-for-all blogging platform. Like all other sites, it has its own vibe - except the vibe is much more writerly SJW, in that narrow worldview, than more general sites like Reddit or Quora. Medium isn't exactly the place for anyone to speak their mind - the most-read authors just fall into that bougie, hipster, white SJW worldview. I don't learn anything on most of Medium - it's just the same trite, tired old vibe and writing style all the time.

There are a few good things on Medium - like Plan A Mag, an Asian American magazine that does say some important things that mainstream media does not. But even Plan A Mag is in the realm of Ivy-educated, bougie Asian Americans.

If your content deviates just a bit from Medium's standard SJW narrative - expect to get almost no views, claps, or followers.

I've tried very hard to gain views and readership - but it's all failed.

Medium customer service can be terrible - at least, if they see your content and don't like it. All the customer service responses I've gotten were rude, condescending, unhelpful, and even flat-out wrong. They're very poorly trained, and don't even know their own platform.

Medium should allow individual bloggers to have a heading, logo, and categories at the top - like they have for Publications. Other blogging platforms come with templates, so it looks pretty. Medium's individual bloggers should have that same traditional blogging setup - right now, they only allow that for Publications.

Medium does sneaky things to authors they don't like - due to their own stigmas and biases. I've been put under the Paywall - probably so I'd have fewer views and followers - not that I was really getting any before. A follower clapped for me - then the claps mysteriously disappeared. That follower was prevented from clapping for some of my other stories, too.

Medium should be docked for introducing the Paywall, too - why should anyone have to pay to read a blogging platform?

Summary: A place for like-minded, snooty, educated SJWs to gather. Reflects the politics/mindset of SF. Rude, unhelpful customer service if they don't like your content. Medium does weird things to keep some authors held back. Paywall is a bad idea for a blogging platform.
