ago I started an experiment
to see if I
could go from being a super
unmotivated
lazy person into a
Productivity beast so
in this video I'm gonna
share the exact
steps that I took to become
very very
productive hey guys what's
going on it's
Andy FL and today I'm
telling you the
way that I become super
productive and
I've seen such a big huge
change in my
life four months ago and
now like it's
complete opposites of each
other and it
has been incredible I'm
more happy now I
feel more fulfilled I feel
like I can do
stuff without being like I
need to get
out of here and also by the
way I had a
little argument with my
racer and he got
super pissed so he cut me
up but if you

story I need to tell you
about
discipline and motivation
so discipline
and motivation is two
completely
different things and this
entire story
is going to be about
discipline how do
you get discipline because
discipline is
everything when it comes to
productivity
because you're gonna do
stuff that you
don't want to do when it
comes to
motivation you can like
watch a
motivational video and
you're like yeah
now I'm gonna do stuff but
a now or
later or two hours later
you're like I
don't want to do stuff so
it's very
important that you realize
the difference between
motivation and
discipline I've always been
lazy like
when we go back like I
always like
copied my friends like
homework I never
wanted to do stuff myself
also like I'm
the guy that goes to the
gym for one
week and then I'm like not
going ever
again
and also like I usually go
to the store
and buy myself like some
sugar some
chocolate some like
whatever I want at
the time and this is really
bad behavior
when it comes to discipline
and then I
went to college and I met
this guy that
was the complete opposite
of me
like he went to school
every day he did
his homework he actually
worked out like
a lot during the week and
he was just a
really really disciplined
and productive
guy like every day he woke
up at the
same time and I was like
this guy is
amazing I need to learn how
to become
more disciplined just like
this guy so
that was really my goal to
become more
like this guy that was
super productive
but the thing is I had
always been
relying on negative
motivation to drive
me throughout my life so
for example in
school I relied on negative
motivation
that I got good grades
because if I
didn't my mom and dad would
be pissed or
when I worked a job I did a
good job
because if I didn't my boss
would be mad
like that's the negative
motivation that
I've been driving my entire
life and
then when I was in college
I started an
online business and with an
online
business you don't really
have anyone
over your shoulder that
just motivates
you or negatively motivates
you I guess
and I have to find the
motivation in
myself and this was so hard
and every
day was like okay I'm gonna
try and do
this but I didn't want to
do it and then
like I somehow I ended up
doing a little
bit but like the
productivity was just
so bad and then I started
like watching
a ton of like self
discipline YouTube
videos and I was like up
all night just
watching these videos and
one guy said to me that
really just
changed a lot for me and he
said that
the only way you get
self-discipline is
resist impulses and then do
the things
you don't want to do that's
how you grow
cells discipline that's how
you could
become discipline this
resisting
impulses and doing the
stuff that you
don't want to do so every
time I had
this thing in my head that
said oh my
god I don't want to do that
don't do
this man
that is the muscle I have
to train and
to like instead of doing
like I don't
want to do this man it's
like all right
I don't want to do it but
I'm doing
it anyway so that's when I
said to
myself like now I am going
to start
getting super disciplined
and what I had
to do is resist impulses
and then do it
just do it every single day
so at this
point I'm like alright you
know what I
need to become self
disciplined and
because like I can work
four times
harder and grow my business
four times
faster if I just become
productive and
disciplined so the plan was
really to
write down everything that
was like an
impulse that I had and try
to resist
that and what I have like
no games like
playing video games no
watching youtube
videos no Facebook no
Instagram no sugar
and a problem I had it's
like I was
checking my income all the
time because
it feels good like you see
you got money
in the bank and and you see
like the
daily stats of how much
you're making I
was addicted to that like I
would go in
and check like probably
five six times a
day like I say I made not a
sale I got
more money I got more money
and that was
super bad because it was
just an impulse
that was like taking my
brain hi Jackie
I would say hijacking my
brain and just
like whoop you're gonna
watch this
income proof right now and
then I listed
down all of the stuff that
I didn't want
to do but I knew was really
beneficial
for me so the things that I
didn't want
to do was like read books
meditate work
out brush my teeth two
times per day
a drink two liters of water
night
routine and sleep and wake
up at the
same time like I've been so
bad with
waking and sleeping and
waking up at the
same time like it's
horrible so that's
all the impulses that I was
just
shutting off on my life
like I didn't
want to do all of that
stuff because
there's took away from my
life and
secondly just adding a
bunch of stuff
that I didn't want to do
now I did all
this and I put it into a
like a habit
tracker because you are
what you do
every single day and habits
is a way
that you do this so I like
I have all of
these right here and what happened
it's
literally like day four I
wake up and I
was supposed to like
workout read
meditating all of this
stuff and I'm
like in my bed day four
like it worked
for a couple of days that
was the crazy
part like I was doing so
well I walked
outside I actually run I
don't run
I don't ever run but it
actually worked
for four day away actually
works for
three days and then I wake
up on day
four and I'm like I don't
want to do
this I don't want to do
this for sure I
don't want to do this and I
was laying
there literally in bed for
an hour
because I didn't want to
face the habits
and all the sacrifice and
all of this
bad stuff that I've put
down on this
habit tracker and on that
day I deleted
all the habits like I
deleted every
single habit from this
habit tracker I
went to McDonald's ia
fattest burger
large fries of like the
biggest coke
they had and I was sitting
here and in
front of my computer just
watching
Netflix watching YouTube
like watching
Facebook Instagram all of
that stuff for
an entire day and didn't do
anything and
then I had this like big
burger in front
of me and like you can see
like gushing
out like sauce and like
that was
myself and I felt really
bad after that
day like I don't really eat
McDonald's
that much because this is
super bad but
that day I really just
found like
this is not good and I
found out that
the reason I did that was
because I had
added too much I had added
way too much
stuff on my to-do list so
what I did
then was that instead of
having like
nine different items let's
see how many
items is on this I have
twelve habits
that I don't want to do and
it became
too much and when it became
too much I
got overwhelmed and I've
done this in
the past as well like you
like kind of
this like New Year's
resolution where
you feel like you should do
all of this
stuff you should change
yourself and
become a new person that
really doesn't
work so the way that I
actually got it
to work was that every
single day I
would do something easy
like super super
easy that I know I could do
every single
day and I knew was
beneficial for me so
what I started with was
literally every
single day I'm gonna wake
up and I'm
gonna sit right here and
I'm gonna drink
my coffee right here drink
my coffee and
I'm gonna and I'm gonna
read a book and
then I'm gonna have like a
Sun lamp
because in Norway at the
winter times
they like the Sun Goes Down
super early
so we don't get any Sun on
our skin and
that's really bad so I had
this like Sun
lamp and that's what I got
to do for
like 30 minutes and I
worked like crazy
like every single day I was
waking up
and I got excited to
actually sit down
and start reading and
started getting
the sunlight and the coffee
and like it
became a habit so every day
I continued
doing it and the week after
I just added
one thing and that was all
just brush my
teeth two times a day and
that just
became like another thing
that I had to
do I didn't really want to
do it but I I
did it for the week and
then I added a
second thing which was a
like drinking
one of these and then the
week after I
started adding like
meditation but then
I found like like a week of
doing that I
felt like I'm overwhelmed
again and then
I just took away meditation
and I stuck
to the same routine that I
had for a
little bit more so I
wouldn't get
overwhelmed and I always
like tried
pushing the boundaries and
now I'm at
the point where I'm working
out like
every other day last week I
worked out
four times and in this week
I'm actually
adding like a ketogenic
diet which is
something I haven't been
doing before
which is super cool and
like I feel like
I can do this and it's
crazy and the the
best part is how much more
happy I am
and that's the crazy part
because like I
didn't think that it would
increase my
happiness the as much as it
has but I
think like this empowering
feeling that
you're in control and that
you control
what you want to do and
what you don't
want to do it's you don't
have this lacy
voice in your head that
says to you like
you can't do this or this
is too hard or
I don't want to do this or anything
like
that you just say to that I
don't want
to do this you just crush
it and then
you just do it and it's the
best feeling
ever
and everything is so much
easier now
like I don't think about
brushing my
teeth I just wake up and I
do it like it
has become an impulse now
insane how
much it helped to like get
rid of
YouTube and gaming and
Facebook and this
when it comes to like
resisting impulses
it's just like you probably
can relate
to this like you go in your
phone
instantly and just tap like
without
thinking about you just tap
Instagram
tap Facebook tap YouTube
like it just
goes instantly and what I
felt were with
me was that I was sitting
on my computer
and instantly I was by
YouTube oh
and without thinking about
it like all
of a sudden I was on YouTube
and there
was a Facebook and I was
like what the
hell what's happening like
I'm doing it
without even thinking about
it
now I feel so much more in
control and I
feel a lot more focused and
like my
productivity has gone
through the roof
it's absolutely insane
like I would never think I
could do this
much ever
like coming from like being
super lazy
to being super productive
it's like it's
a whole different world and
the best
part is that I am just
starting and in a
year years time from now everything
is
gonna be different and
everything is
gonna be so much better and
that's what
I'm excited about when I
have the
discipline of a like a monk
like the the
highest level monk
blackbelt monk is
that even something I don't
know the
highest master monk
discipline and so
yeah that's really it if
you want some
extra tips I would say plan
tomorrow
today it's very important
like plan out
your day before your day
starts the day
before secondly the most
important is
resisting these impulses to
go to
Facebook this and go to
Facebook that
and go to YouTube this and
go to just
focus on one task very
specifically and
do that for a long period
of time
because then you go into
deep work and
deep work it's like a
superpower it's
literally a superpower at
the same like
go to bed at the same time
every day
that has helped me the most
like going
to sleep at the same time
and the reason
because of this is because
when you go
to bed your mind and body
knows that
you're going to bed like
and it knows
when you're gonna wake up
and like spike
cortisol at this time the
bodily fluids
spike at this time like you
know when
you're gonna eat the body
knows when
you're gonna eat the
circles and all of
this just makes it so much
easier and
you feel so much better at
the same time
the fourth thing that
happened last week
when I started working out
is a whole
new ball game of excitement
and and
happiness and the craziest
part is the
you're trying to fight the
I don't want
to do this and when you're
at a gym
you're saying that to yourself
all the
time
I don't want to run I don't
want to do
this interval training I
don't want to
lift this weight I don't
want to do this
I don't want to do that but
you do it
anyway because you're
fighting that
brain you're fighting that
voice in your
head that's saying you're
gonna stop
doing this right now
because I'm feeling
uncomfortable but that's
when you push
through and that's when you
really get
discipline so all of you
guys when you
start doing this start very
slow and
then build it up and build
it up and and
don't start with something
that's super
hard start with drinking
coffee every
morning like that's the
discipline then
and getting a scheduled and
getting your
time scheduled out like
sleeping at the
same time every day and
waking up at the
same time every day and
starting working
out and starting to do some
very nice
and with these tips I can
promise you
that
you will not be yourself in
four months
I can promise you all of
that and I even
up like I up like two
months in where I went on
this huge dump
and it was really because I
had like
really bad problems with my
girlfriend
and we broke up and now I'm
back again
and it feels so much better
now but but
the thing is that you have
to keep
moving it's like a kid the
kid is like
running and then he falls
over and he's
not gonna stay there
forever like it's
not gonna stay there on the
ground
forever he's gonna push
himself up stand
up again and then start
running again
and if he falls over that's
no problem
he's gonna go up again and
then he's
starting to start moving
again and and
that's what it's all about
just don't
stop don't don't fall over
and then just
stay there that's the worst
thing but
that is how you can become
super
productive have a lot more
discipline in
your life and that's really
the key get
discipline it's such a
super power like
it really is a super power
