I'm going to share with you how to do keyword research in today's world of Google.
It's way more difficult to rank on Google today than it was back in the day.
Keyword Research Tip #1: Pick a niche.
Everyone's talking about going after big terms like auto insurance, SEO, credit cards.
Yes, you can eventually get there, but it takes six months to see traction with Google these days, 12 months to start seeing your traffic go up, and two years to be crushing it on Google.
You want to go after and pick small niches.
Keyword Research Tip #2: Pick buzzwords that are trending.
Technology is moving so fast these days that things are continually changing.
Whether it's cryptocurrencies or whether it's new products that are coming out like the iPhone 100.
Go after new, upcoming words. You can find them using Google Trends.
Google Trends breaks down what's hot and what's up and coming.
You want to go after these keyword terms because they're not that competitive yet.
When you create content around new and trendy keywords, you're gonna skyrocket to the top way faster than if you went after old terms like "credit cards."
Keyword Research Tip #3: Use Ubersuggest to find keywords.
These days people just don't type in keywords like "dog food."
They'll type in keywords like "what dog food is best for my animal" or "what dog food is great to make my dog lose weight."
These are really popular terms.
Ubersuggest will show you different variations of your primary keyword, and it'll even show you how competitive they are, how much search volume you're going to get, and how many people are going to click on your listing if you rank number one, two, or number 10.
Keyword Research Tip #4: Use Quora.
Type in keywords related to your industry, and you're going to see the most popular questions people are asking.
When you start seeing the most popular questions, you'll know what kind of content to create that's related to your space.
By creating answers on your blog that are more thorough, more detailed, you're not only going to rank for it, but you're going to rank higher because you can create way more detailed responses than Quora itself.
Keyword Research Tip #5: Focus on a theme.
If you're going after credit cards, you want to have a website all about credit cards, like Credit Karma. Or you want to have a site all about marketing and SEO like me on NeilPatel.com.
If you want to get long tail traffic, what you need to do is create detailed content about specific individual topics.
When I say detailed topics, I'm NOT talking about "how to start an e-commerce site: I'm talking about "how to start an e-commerce site with Shopify." You see how much more specific that is?
You can create another article on how to create an e-commerce site using Magento. By getting very specific you can have a 10,000-word blog post and everything about setting it up with Shopify or Magento, you're going to dominate.
By being specific, anyone who's interested in that topic and even potentially interested in hiring consultants or buying products or plugins or whatever you're selling related to that topic, they're going to land on your website.
When Google releases an update, they're going to rank the most thorough website.
That's why Wikipedia does well. It's not just because they have a lot of links or brand queries. It's because Wikipedia has some of the most detailed articles on the web.
That's what you need to do with your content.
Create pages that are super thorough and detailed are high in quality.
When you do that, you'll notice that you'll start ranking for all the keywords related to your industry. That's how you do keyword research in today's world.
If you're still struggling to figure out what keywords to go after or how to do keyword research in today's Google world, leave a comment below, and I'll help you out.

it's not 2010 anymore keyword research
and SEO isn't as easy as it used to be
so what should you do
hey everyone I'm Md Hridoy Hossain and today
I'm gonna share with you how to do
keyword research in today's world of
Google see Google is way more tougher to
get rankings for versus back in the day
when people like oh my god I just popped
this slide and I'm now number one for
auto insurance and I'm affiliate and I'm
surfing and like I'm making 100 grand a
month doing jack life isn't that
good anymore that won't work for you I
wish it did because I would probably
learn surfing and I'll be just milking
it with all the top spots on Google so
here's the first tip that you need to
know if you want to do keyword research
in today's world the first thing is pick
a niche everyone's talking about like
going up there big terms like auto
insurance SEO credit cards yes you can
eventually get there but it takes six
months to see traction with Google these
days twelve months to start seeing your
traffic really go up and two years to
really be crushing it on Google and
you've seen that I've talked in the past
about my Md Hridoy Hossain dot-com site and I
went from 9,000 Google visitors to 80
something thousand or 90,000 then to
like 200 or whatever thousand per month
right but it took years for me to get
there the point I'm trying to make is
don't do what I did when I was starting
off all speaking big keyword terms you
want to go after and pick small niches
the second tip I have for you is pick
buzzwords and things that are booming
here's what I mean technology is moving
so fast these days that things are
constantly changing nowadays it's not
how long are you gonna live till it's
how long is it gonna take for technology
adapts so fast so you can pretty much
live forever I'm serious right so why
not go after new interesting things
whether it's cryptocurrencies or whether
it's new products that are coming out
right the iPhone 100 or whatever version
that are on go after new upcoming words
and you can find them using Google
Trends Google Trends breaks down what's
hot what's up and coming that people are
typing and go after all the ones that
are new the reason you want to go after
the new ones is these are ones that
people haven't been trying to rank for
before
they're not that competitive because
there's not much competition so if you
create content around it what are you
gonna do you're gonna skyrocket to the
top way faster than if you went after
all terms like credit cards now that we
got the basics out of the way on how to
find the right keywords let's go into
tools you should be using the first tool
I have for you is if you super suggest
what you'll find is you can put in a
keyword it'll give you ideas based on
what people are typing in questions
right so for example people don't type
in the keywords like dog food so type in
keywords like what dog food is best for
my animal or what dog food is great to
make my dog lose weight these are really
popular terms
boobers suggest we'll show you different
variations of your main keyword and I'll
even show you how competitive they are
how much search volume you're gonna get
and how many even people are gonna click
on your listing if you rig number one -
or number 10 or whatever the listing
number is and that's what's cool about
lubbers suggests the fourth thing I want
you to do is go to Quora type in
keywords relate to your industry and
you're gonna see the most popular
questions that people are asking yes I
know I talked about we were suggesting
getting ideas for longtail
non-competitive terms but the cool part
about Korres is based on users feedback
you'll see their answers you'll see the
uploads and the book oh my god this is
how hard it is V Olympian or win Olympic
medal and when you start seeing the most
popular questions you'll now know what
kind of content to create that's related
to your space when you do that you can
start going after these because if it
has a lot of responses and votes that
means a lot of people are curious about
this and by creating answers on your own
blog that are more thorough more
detailed you're not gonna rank for it
but you're gonna rank higher because you
can create way more detailed responses
then Quora itself the last tip that I
have for you is don't always focus on
keywords focus on a theme see back in
the day when you want it to really make
money off of Google you'd be like Oh
annoying four credit cards on rank for
auto insurance these days it's just
about how much search traffic you can
get within your industry so if you're
going after credit cards you want to
have a website all about credit cards
like Credit Karma or you want to have a
website all about marketing and SEO like
me on Md Hridoy Hossain sure I do rank
amazingly well for terms like online
marketing internet marketing
SEO but that's not where I get most my
revenue and visitor count from it's all
longtail terms so if you want to get
that long tail of traffic what you need
to do is create detailed content about
specific detailed topics and what I'm
saying detailed topics I'm talking about
not how to start an e-commerce site I'm
talking about how to start an e-commerce
site with Shopify you see how much more
specific that is you can create a whole
another article on how to create an
e-commerce site using Magento by getting
very specific and then you can have a
10,000 word blogpost on everything about
setting it up with Shopify or Magento
you're gonna dominate anyone who's
trying to create a Shopify store using
you know Shopify and you can end up
breaking on the steps the templates how
to optimize for traffic for conversions
email list adding upsells and down cells
and countdown timers by by being that
specific anyone who's interested in that
and even potentially interested in
hiring consultants or buying products or
plugins or whatever you're selling
related to that topic they're gonna be
landing on your website because when
Google released a hummingbird update
they're not now we're just trying to
rank the most popular site at the top or
the one with the most backlinks they're
also trying to rank the most thorough
website they'll say Wikipedia does well
it's not just because they have a lot of
links or brand queries it's because
Wikipedia has some of the most detailed
articles you go look up the article on
Abraham Lincoln it's so in depth it
covers every little thing about Abraham
Lincoln you know they pretty much cover
everything under the moon when it comes
to Abraham Lincoln and that's the same
thing you need to do with your content
it's not about creating 5,000 pages it's
about creating pages that are super
thorough and detailed that are high in
quality and when you do that you'll
notice that your start ranking for all
the keywords related to your industry
and that's how you do the keyword
research in today's world if you're
still struggling to figure out what
keywords to go after or how to do
keyword research in today's you know
Google world leave a comment below ask
your questions and I'll be there to help
you out and of course if you appreciate
