I came to Richmond Virginia to actually
study fine art at Virginia Commonwealth
University and it was there that I
discovered glass kind of before high
school I was all about metal metal
smithing jewelry making sculpture and so
that's kind of what led me to Virginia
Commonwealth and led me to the crafts
department and in the crafts department
is glassblowing so I was just I was
immediately drawn to it just curious
like what was going on in this place I'd
never actually seen glassblowing before
it was just a magical dance that I just
had to try

there's something about working with a
molten material with a group of friends
it's hot you've got some music playing
and you're just going through the
motions of creating this piece and
there's nothing like if there's
absolutely nothing like it

a particular creation that recently we
made that I really enjoy was I went to
Chicago went to ignite Glass Studios I
was invited to be a guest artist to
create a Black Swan piece with artist
Ben Tolman and it was all for charity
I believe that piece went for a few
thousand dollars and it was just an
amazing time and there's always
something great about creating creating
art in front of people and then the
people appreciating it and supporting it
