Prices are going through the roof.
Social media marketing, it's already competitive.
How are you going to stand out from the crowd when your mom and dad are already on Facebook?
Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today I'm going to share with you how you can stand out from the crowd with social media marketing.
Tip #1: Leverage the new innovative channels out there.
Facebook and Instagram are old.
But you know what? On these social sites, they continually innovate.
Who's Facebook trying to be? YouTube. So what does Facebook roll out? Facebook Watch.
It's their version of showing live TV shows, just like YouTube.
Facebook wants a slice of the action.
If you post your video content to Facebook, they'll instantly give you a ton of views.
Why? Because they want you to move all your video content over to Facebook. That's innovative, right?
#2: Be transparent.
The thing with marketing is that everyone sees it for what it is.
Consumers these days see right through the gimmicks.
So whatever you do, do you. But if you really want to stand out with social media marketing, be transparent.
Lying and telling people that they're going to get results that they're not going to get, it's just going to make people not like you.
Look at sites like smartpassiveincome.com run by Pat Flynn.
Pat was an architect, and now he's just like, "Hey let me create a blog telling people and showing them "how I'm making money online "and let me even show 'em my numbers "and prove that these are my real stats."
And people love it.
It's all about being transparent, his marketing has taken off, and he's one of the most popular bloggers and even podcasters out there because he's transparent.
And that's the cool part. By being transparent, you're gonna get a following of people being like, "Oh, cool, you're showing all of your amazing moments "and all your terrible moments."
If you want to be transparent with your social media marketing leave a comment with your ideas and I'll tell you if it's going to work or if it won't.
I've tested a lot of this stuff out, like on the Neil Patel blog; I shared my journey all the way from going from zero to a hundred thousand visitors a month.
#3: Use videos.
Look, you're watching me.
You know the past few months I've been doing a ton of videos, I've been going to conferences, events, and you know what people have been saying?
Neil, you have amazing content.
I'm like, "Great you love my content.
"What was the latest piece of content that you liked?"
I'm just trying to get feedback on how I can improve.
And they're like, "Oh, your video on X, Y, and Z topic."
They're not talking about my podcasts; they're not talking about my blog content even though my blog content gets way more traffic.
Everyone's talking about my video content.
Why is that? It's because it's helping me build a deeper connection with you.
Sure, there are lots of comments on my videos, but I also do that in my blog comments.
Why isn't my blog growing as fast? People want videos; it's how they connect with one another. So, create videos.
It's not about text-based content these days; it's not about audio-based content, if you want to stand out from the crowd it's all about videos.
#4: Be a long-term thinker.
Look at Gary Vaynerchuk; you think he's successful, right? He is. Did it happen overnight? No, it didn't.
He had Wine Library TV before that, then he created his agency, then did the DailyVee, and eventually, yes, you're seeing him everywhere, but it took him a long time before he got to where he is.
And the same with me. You think I'm an overnight success?
No, I've been doing this for over 16 years. That's a long time.
No, you don't have to put in 16 years like I am before you start seeing results and making money, but if you want to really succeed in the marketing world, you have to think of it as a three-plus year plan.
Don't expect amazing things in the first six months; you'll see some traction.
After the first year, you're going to start seeing growth.
After the second year, things are going to start skyrocketing.
After three years, assuming you're pushing hard every single week, then things are going to start blowing up.
But, if you don't do it consistently you won't do well. It's all about the long game.
Follow these tips, if you're not sure which one of them you should be leveraging first in your social media marketing arsenal so you can stand out from the crowd leave a comment, I'll respond, and I'll help you out.

the web is getting so competitive
everyone's already doing advertising on
Facebook and Google prices are going
through the roof
social media marketing it's already
competitive how are you gonna stand up
when your mom and dad already on
Facebook hey everyone I'm Neil Patel and
today I'm gonna share with you how you
can stand out from the crowd so first if
I have for you is leverage the new
innovative channels out there Facebook
it's already old Instagram it's already
old but you know what on these social
sites they continually innovate who is
Facebook kind of beat YouTube so what
does Facebook roll out Facebook watch
it's their version of showing live TV
shows just like YouTube you know YouTube
you see all these celebrities like the
Jake Paul or logan paul or whatever
their name is through even doing videos
and movies on YouTube but these guys are
creating little mini shows or reality
shows kind of like keeping up with the
Kardashian on YouTube Facebook they want
a slice of that action so what do they
do they've made it so that way if you
publish what you're already doing on
YouTube on Facebook they'll instantly
give you a ton of views why because they
want you to move over all your video
content over to Facebook that's
innovative right and they're doing that
through Facebook watch so one make sure
you look for all the innovative channels
out there and leverage them it doesn't
have to be new platforms it could just
be new features that these guys are
pushing out every single day the second
thing I have for you is be transparent
see the thing with marketing is everyone
sees things for what it really is I
could go out there and be like hey check
me out
I'll teach you how to make money check
out my Ferrari and check out my mansion
and you know what that works for some
people but you are smarter than that you
can see right there and you'll be like
yes you have a Ferrari and you're
putting a disclaimer that you leased it
and all your cars and all your money you
know aren't necessarily naturally and
other people won't catch these results
right those are just
gamer's and you know what when you see
these kind of things you're seeing right
through them and other people are too on
YouTube or Facebook or whatever social
network is out there so when you're
doing your marketing I'm not saying you
shouldn't use fancy cars or you
shouldn't use homes or you shouldn't be
too technical whatever you want to do do
you but be transparent lying and telling
people that they're gonna get that
they're not really gonna get is this
gonna make people hate you and that's
the thing about marketing if you look at
sites like smart passive income comm and
that's run by a guy named Pat Flynn and
I've known him for years Pat was an
architect and now he's just like hey let
me create a blog telling people and
showing them how I'm making money online
and let me even show my numbers and
prove that these are my real stats and
you know what's happening when Pat's
done this I was like oh cool you got
amazing month oh you had a terrible
month oh you had another amazing month
oh and here's why you had a terrible
month and here's what you can learn from
it and here's how you can improve so you
won't have the same problem as Pat see
that's all about being transparent and
his marketing has taken off and he's one
of the most popular bloggers and even
podcasters out there because he's
transparent and that's a cool part by
being transparent you're gonna get a
following of people being like oh cool
you're sharing all your amazing moments
and all your shitty moments and if you
want to be transparent with your
marketing leave a comment with your
ideas and I'll tell you if it's gonna
work or if it won't
cuz I've tested a lot of this stuff out
like on the neil patel blog I used to
have it where I would show you from my
journey all the way from going from zero
to a hundred thousand visitors a month
and then from there I shared my journey
from a hundred thousand visitors a month
all the way to a million visitors a
month right I was being transparent from
making more visitors to losing visitors
and I also do the same thing with my
other site nutrition secrets which I no
longer own and I shared my journey from
going from zero to a hundred thousand
dollars per month and a year and people
loved it some months were amazing and I
learned a lot and I was crushing it and
other months I was building and I was
losing some money right but sharing all
this made people being like oh my god
this is amazing
thank you for sharing I'm gonna try
replicate the same success the third tip
I have for you is to use videos look
you're watching me you know the past few
months I've been doing a shitload of
videos I've been going to conferences
events and you know people have been
saying Neil you have amazing content I'm
like great you love my content what was
the latest piece of content that you
like because I'm just trying to get
feedback on how I can improve and
they're like oh your video on X Y & Z
topic you're not talking about my
podcast they're not talking about my
blog content even though my blog content
gets way more traffic everyone's talking
about my video content why is that it's
because it's helping me build a deeper
connection with you sure respond to
comments on my videos but I also do that
on my blog comments why isn't my blog
growing as fast people want
videos it's how they connect with one
another so create videos it's not about
text-based content these days it's not
about audio based content it's all about
videos and you know the devices that you
have like that iPhone that's what making
videos so popular the last marketing tip
I have for you is to be a long-term
thinker look at Gary Vaynerchuk you
think he's successful right he is did it
happen overnight
no it didn't he had a Wine Library TV
before that then he created his agency
then he did the daily be an Avenger yes
you're seeing him everywhere but it took
him a long time before he got to where
he is and the same with me you think I'm
an overnight success and I did really
well today
no I've been doing this for over 16
years that's a long time no you don't
have to put in 16 years like I am before
you start seeing results in making money
but if you want to really succeed in the
marketing world you have to think of it
as a three plus year plan don't expect
amazing things in the first six months
you'll see some traction after the first
year you're really gonna start seeing
growth after the second year things are
gonna start skyrocketing after three
years assuming you're pushing hard to
each and every single week then things
are gonna start blowing up but if you
don't do it consistently you won't do
well you think Gary Vaynerchuk when he
was doing the daily bee was
automatically famous no he pushed out so
many episodes and was so consistent
then it started blowing up again it's
all about the long game follow these
tips if you're not sure which one of
them you should be leveraging first in
your marketing arsenal so you can stand
out leave a comment or respond and I'll
help you out and of course if you like
this video I would really appreciate
that that way I can help out more people
