Real VS. Fake Animals............besteducationpage

 Real VS. Fake Animals............besteducationpage

SUMMARY:
- The smallest species of deer you can find is tufted deer. Only the males have these fang-like canines, though. These deer can be found in southern China, Tibet, and northern Myanmar.

- Patagonian mara is a rabbit-like animal from Argentina. This species has relatively long ears and limbs, making them exceptional runners. This little rodent can even compete with deer and antelope when it comes to top running speeds!
- The fossa is a cat-like animal (which is often compared to a small cougar) that lives on the island of Madagascar. Fossas can be pretty dangerous! They enjoy hunting both during the day and at night, and they have flexible ankles that allow them to easily jump from one tree to the other.
- Pink fairy armadillo is the smallest species of armadillo. These guys have yellowish-white fur and a flexible shell on top of their body. They lead a nocturnal lifestyle, which makes it way harder for us to spot them.
- Star-nosed moles live in the northeast part of the US and southeastern Canada. You can easily recognize them by that hard-to-miss fleshy appendage on their face.
- Zebra duiker can be found on the continent of Africa, mostly in Liberia and parts of surrounding countries. Experts believe that these creatures are one of the earliest duiker species to have evolved.
- Japanese spider crab lives in the waters around Japan, and they have the largest leg span of any arthropod. And get this: people actually eat them! They’re even considered a true delicacy.
- Red-lipped batfishes usually hang out around the Galapagos Islands, but they must not be the best swimmers given the fact that they prefer to “walk” on the ocean floor instead.

our world is full of surprises
from the strangest natural phenomena to
the weirdest-looking creatures so here's
a fun little challenge for you can you
tell real animals from completely
made-up ones number one we'll start with
this guy right here Wow those eyes
really capture your soul right but does
it really exist you have ten seconds to
decide
[Music]
nope it's not some exotic animal you've
never heard of this little looker simply
doesn't exist so if you got it right
good job let's keep that ball rolling
number two I'm sure you've seen your
fair share of squirrels so you should be
able to tell if this one is real or fake
go with your instinct if your gut is
telling you that this isn't the real
deal then you're right oh you wouldn't
find any squirrels looking like this in
the real world too bad though
it's really pretty don't you think
number three next up we have this little
cutie right here judging by those teeth
this little guy can certainly stand up
for himself but is it actually real
[Music]
meet the tufted deer the smallest
species of deer you can find only the
male's have these Fang like canines
though these deer can be found in
southern China Tibet and northern
Myanmar unfortunately you won't meet
many of them since this beautiful
species is categorized as near
threatened and even though tough deer
are listed as locally protected in
certain regions they're still not fully
protected by national law which is
definitely something that should be
changed
number 4 butterflies come in all shapes
and colors but can they look like this
you have ten seconds to get your answer
ready so what do you say real or not if
you don't believe that this slimy
butterfly exists and you're pretty good
at this game this is another hoax
otherwise he'd be downright terrifying
to see something like this flying
through the air number five
is this a legit kangaroo rabbit hybrid
or just some Photoshop trickery
you decide
[Music]
[Music]
this is a Patagonian Mara a rabbit like
animal from Argentina as you can see
this species has relatively long years
and limbs making them exceptional
runners this little road and can even
compete with deer and antelope when it
comes to top running speeds they're
largely herbivores and sadly like the
tough deer this beautiful species is
considered near threatened number 6
speaking of beautiful animals here's
another one and my question remains the
same is it a real beauty or nothing more
than a hoax
[Music]
let me introduce you to the fossa a
cat-like animal which is often compared
to a small cougar that lives on the
island of Madagascar but don't fall for
its elegant appearances fauces can be
pretty dangerous they enjoy hunting both
during the day and at night and they
have flexible ankles that allow them to
easily jump from one tree to the other
truly captivating number seven what
about this animal right here do you
think frogs or snakes could evolve to
look like each other hmm
[Music]
nope this isn't a special type of frog
or snake because this animal doesn't
exist so add one more point to your
score if you got it right and if not
don't worry you can always redeem
yourself with the next animal number
eight next up we have this little cutie
real or not you have ten seconds to
decide
[Music]
hey you just met the pink fairy
armadillo this is the smallest species
of armadillo out there
these guys have yellowish white fur and
a flexible shell on top of their body
they lead a nocturnal lifestyle which
makes it way harder for us to spot them
the international union of conservation
of nature or IUCN categorized the pink
fairy armadillo as near threatened in
their read list for 2006 but the species
has moved back to the data deficient
category in 2008 unfortunately the
number of pink fairy armadillos keeps
decreasing to this day number 9 now if a
mouse and a crocodile had a baby it'd
probably look like this or maybe it's a
real animal that you can actually come
across one day what do you think
luckily it's just another animal from
someone's imagination proof thank
goodness we're that no you don't need to
worry about finding this nightmarish
creature in your kitchen cabinets let's
just take a deep breath calm down and
move on to the next animal number ten
what about this creature kinda gives you
the creeps right you know the drill
you've got 10 seconds to decide if this
thing actually exists what you're
looking at is a star-nosed mall yep it
does exist and these animals live in the
northeast part of the US and
southeastern Canada you can easily
recognize them by that hard to miss
fleshy appendage on their face it
consists of 25,000 sensory receptors and
allows the mole to feel its way around
since well this guy is practically blind
number 11 this animal doesn't look too
extreme or exotic just a deer like
creature with some zebra stripes but is
it actually real
[Music]
this is another totally real animal and
it's called a zebra duiker this species
can be found on the continent of Africa
mostly in Liberia and parts of
surrounding countries experts believe
that these creatures are one of the
earliest duiker species that have
evolved zebra duikers prefer rainforest
living and they feed mostly on fruit
leaves and seeds the IUCN categorizes
this species as vulnerable due to
deforestation so the future of these
beautiful animals is pretty unclear
number 12 now it's time to dive into the
oceans and try to decide if this
creature actually exists or not
hmmm looks pretty legit but you never
know sorry for anyone who loves tentacle
cloud creatures but this one is totally
made up did you get it right I could
have sworn it was real number 13 this
next contender looks like some exotic
creature of the night
doesn't it maybe that's why you've never
seen it or is it fictional figure it out
in 10 seconds
[Music]
yep this animal is totally fake give
yourself a good pat on the back if you
called it and if not you only have a few
animals left to redeem yourself
number 14 there are all types of
unbelievably beautiful birds out there
and here's another one
or is it made-up you decide
[Music]
unfortunately this bird is not real what
a shame because it's just so mesmerizing
number 15 now let's dive into the
nightmare animal section once again and
look at this thing right here I don't
know about you but one look at this guy
and I'd be running for the hills
but should I even worry about coming
across this alien-like creature does it
really exist
it's your call
[Music]
believe it or not this actually is the
real deal and it's called a Japanese
spider crab this type of crab lives in
the waters around Japan and they have
the largest leg span of any arthropod
and get this people actually eat them
they're even considered a true delicacy
would you dare go fishing for this giant
creature you can count me out number 16
for this question I have this unusual
animal for you so would you believe me
if I told you it was real think about it
[Music]
maybe you should trust me a little more
or maybe not because this animal is a
total hoax but it would be kind of cool
to see this sort of howl lemur hybrid
don't you think number 17
Wow you know what they say a red lip
looks good on anyone so is this
fashionista an actual creature or has
someone gotten a little too happy with
the photo shop you're 10 seconds are
taking no posers here only the real deal
this aptly named creature is called a
red lipped batfish they usually hang out
around the Galapagos Islands but they
must not be the best swimmers given the
fact that they prefer to walk on the
ocean floor instead but don't assume
that this red-lipped beauty is dainty
and harmless this fish has a structure
called an LCM on its head that helps it
attract prey fashionable and dangerous
Oh number 18 if you're a fan of Tigers
you'll definitely appreciate the beauty
and majesty of this animal or is it an
actual animal you are a last chance to
get it right
[Music]
nope this Tiger like mammal is 100%
fictional oh man but it looks so real
well you win some you lose some the most
important thing is that you had fun
along the way so how many of these
animals did you get right let us know
