At 87 years old, Darcelle
XV is the oldest drag queen in America. She first started performing in 1967 to
help raise money for the AIDS crisis. Since then, she founded the Darcelle XV
Showplace in Oregon, where she still
MCs. Darcelle walks us through her
trademark makeup routine which she has down to a tight ten minutes.

our friends that were

beginning of what you'd see

well about 10 minutes have
been in the
business for 51 years so I
do the same
makeup it's my trademark

I'm a man you know and I
had big bushy
eyebrows so I said wait a
minute
what I'm not dragged I want
to look okay
I'll shave them off and so
I invented
the eyebrows that I cut out
of paper
this is the fun part
trying to get them
where they belong

I've never bought anything
store-bought
because I don't know what I
don't know
what size that I'm not
gonna have
anybody measure me
dad is theory the more you
put on the
less they see the tiny
imperfection
