Should you have multiple rotating images on your website? Carousels are a box on your website in which someone can place multiple images within that space.

For example, you will see this on photography or image-based type of sites. In which images continually rotate.

9 out of 10 times a carousel is going to reduce your conversions. So you should avoid using them, especially when it comes to the above the fold real estate.

If you have an ecommerce site you can always use a carousel to showcase multiple images of the product. But don't place this above the fold and don't highlight this area.

that's what a carousel is and you mainly

see them on image based websites like

photography or weddings a lot of people

though are using these carousels on

their b2b websites or business websites

or e-commerce websites and what we found

is generally usually nine out of ten

times it decreases your conversion rate

the reason being is most people put

carousels and the header area of their

website right that hero image above the

fold and what we found is when you're

putting it above the fold it's

distracting and people are continually

looking at what's in that information in

that box that's continually changing

versus taking action you don't want

people just continually browsing and

looking at your images or your

information you want them to by turn

into a lead or convert become a customer

that's how you make money so if you have

tons of testimonials sure you can use a

carousel image for that if you have a

lot of photos and your photographer sure

you can use it for that as well

but don't put it above the fold above

the fold should be the problem you can

help solve the solution that you provide

and how they can get in touch with you

to buy that solution or to sign up for

it below the fold you can consider using

a carousel but in general unless you're

providing a service that's very visual

such as a photographer like a wedding
