Why My 2.5 MILLION VIEWS Youtube Channel FAILED & DOESN'T MAKE MONEY (and how to fix it..)

hey guys what's going on yes I am in the

new office I'm gonna tell you about that

in a later video because we just moved

apartment it's a really nice looking

apartment I love it so much

and I'm gonna make a video about it in

the future but like right now we have

like all these boxes around that it's

not looking that pretty yet so I'm gonna

make a video about that in the future

but what I'm gonna talk about today is

how my youtube channel bucket list freak

failed and why it doesn't make money it

gets a lot of views but it doesn't

really they make that much money and why

most youtube channels that people start

creating actually don't make money at

all so this story took place in 2015 i

was just out of the army and I saved up

as much money as I could to travel the

world and see the world and backpack and

I did it solo so I was quite afraid to

travel and do this backpacking thing but

it truly was an incredible experience

I'm gonna show you some photos right now

and I learned to scuba dive in Thailand

I learned to or I bought my own

motorcycle in Vietnam I experienced a

ghost tower in Bangkok which was like an

abandoned hotel that was like really

really big and it was all abandoned so

we just went all around there and saw

all of that and I did it this for four

months and after I had this amazing time

with all these new friends that I gather

all these new experiences and all the

fun that I could have I went back to

Norway and I stay in here and they felt

like I was trapped it felt like everyone

around me didn't really go on adventures

they didn't really do much other than

just go to work and hate their life and

I remember the the goal was when I came

back home I'm gonna start a YouTube

channel and I'm gonna start making money

online so I can go back and travel again

and that's the that that was the goal of

me after traveling for four months and

packy so that's why I started this

bucket this freak I didn't really post

that many videos but it was all about

like top 10 travel videos top 10 most

dangerous hikes in the world top 5 most

cool wreck dives and all of that and I

published a few videos but it took so

much time publishing these videos and

actually making them so I got really

tired after a while because I didn't

really see much results and it was just

so much hard work and then I actually

found that making money online and all

this is just really really hard so I

actually started a sales job where I was

knocking on people's doors selling like

food crates if you heard of blue apron

in America that's kind of what we sold

and I did that for six months and

actually I became one of the best people

to sell and knock on doors and sell

people food crates so I actually got

promoted to become a phone salesman

selling Internet and fiber and that was

super fun but it didn't really stick

with me for a long time and I actually

quit that job and after I quit that job

I remembered that I actually went into

YouTube and I hadn't logged in to this

bucket list freak channel for a very

long time and I was like logging in

checking my analytics and I saw that I

had like I think I had like a hundred

subscribers or something like that and I

had like and I got 300 views per day

three to four hundred views per day and

I was like whoa this is actually maybe

this is something to this so I started

creating more videos and more videos but

still I didn't really make that much

money once again and I started a new job

and this was a si pizza delivery boy and

by far the worst job that I had and the

reason is because I absolutely hated my

boss and I remember this just walking to

the the pizza pizza place I just got

this big lump in my stomach and I prayed

and I hope to god that my jaw or my boss

was not working the same shape that

me because I loved all the other people

that all the people were really cool and

when the boss was not around it was

super fun but when my boss was around

and when I was working with him I

literally started literally started to

shaking because it was this guy that was

always like on the back of your neck and

it was like oh it's like you're doing it

right are you not doing the rights or

are you doing it wrong and all of that

and super micromanaging and always liked

it but pisses me off and it was so mad

so I quit that job as well and I thought

yeah you know what I don't think I can

do this and make money online or make

money at all to start traveling again

and the dream really got lost and I

couldn't go back to traveling so I was

like my mom was pushing me to go to

college so that was what I did I started

going to college in 2016 the summer of

2016 I started going to college

and when I was in college I was like

well college is cool but you're only

there for about probably about six hours

seven hours of classes and stuff and

after that you have all this time left

over so what I did what at times was I

partied a lot too much and then I

actually started making videos again for

the bucket list for YouTube channel and

as you can see right here August of 2016

I started publishing a lot of videos I

started publishing like 12 videos right

here and it was cool but right here I

think I really just got super super

tired of making these videos and it

didn't really get me that much results I

was getting like two thousand three

thousand views per day but the ad

revenue I was getting from this huge

channels was not a lot not much at all

and also I was just super comfortable

living the college life just partying

and having a good time and actually the

thing I was studying was real estate and

how to sell real estate because you have

to have three years of college education

to sell a real estate in Norway

I like the concept like I really wanted

to sell houses and I wanted to get into

the real estate market and wear a suit

and tie all time and and all of that and

then one day we had this real estate day

where a lot of real estate agents and

all the companies came to our school to

educate them educate us more about how

to become a real estate agent how to do

all this and it was fun but there was

two newly graduated students that came

out and told their own story of how it

was to actually become a real estate

agent and they told us that this is

gonna become a grind this is gonna be a

super super grind that you have to do

because the real estate market is

getting lower a lot more people are

selling their own house on the internet

by themselves without the real estate

agent and also a lot more people are

actually becoming real estate agents so

there's a lot more people and there's

less demand and I was like Jesus Christ

so what I'm actually doing is going to

school for three years to get a job that

is gonna take so much hard work and

effort to actually do so I was like yeah

yeah I don't think I'm gonna do this and

then I came back to my youtube channel

again and as you can see I started

posting again I started making more

videos and it was becoming fun again and

as you can see right here and I had like

one day where I was making or getting

like 6,000 views in a single day and I

was like wow this is so cool but then I

checked how much money I actually earned

off of 6,000 views and I saw that that

was six dollars and 51 cents so I mean

six thousand views and you get six

dollars and 51 cents I don't really

think this is worth it and I don't think

really that this YouTube channel will

become what I can actually make a living

off of because I was I was thinking that

Adsense was the only way to make up

profitable you

channel when in reality it's not it's

the worst way if you're just relying on

YouTube Adsense you need above a million

views per day per video to actually get

a proper full time income from YouTube

and when I realize this I was like super

sad because I've been working a lot on

this YouTube channel and I really

thought that this could be the way that

I can start traveling again and and

start having the freedom and and do all

these crazy experiences but it wasn't

and that's really how my youtube channel

failed and the lesson I want you to take

away from this is that if you're making

a YouTube channel based around Adsense

you're you're making a big big mistake

what you should do instead is to make a

YouTube channel based around one

specific problem and that problem should

have a solution that you can sell to

them these are the only two things that

you have to keep in mind when you're

making a YouTube channel like this

because first of all if you have a

youtube channel that solves a specific

problem so say for example weight loss

or how to pick up girls or how to make

more money online or how to fix a car or

anything like that you can sell them a

solution and the solution could be like

a step-by-step course on how to pick up

a girl what to say to a girl and all of

that and people are gonna buy that

because they have this big problem when

in traveling there's no real big problem

its what am I gonna eat when I'm on

vacation where am I gonna go I'm not

gonna pay for questions or content of

where I'm gonna go or wearing where am I

gonna sleep at the hotel and what am I

gonna do these aren't really problems

that they have a huge pain and a huge

struggle with for example being

overweight like people being overweight

they have this big huge problem they go

to the doctor and they say like you're

gonna die if you're not fixing your diet

and and people are gonna pay a lot

of money to find the solution to that

problem when

traveling you don't really find that

solution so I want you to think about

this if you're if you have a YouTube

channel right now

and you're making it around YouTube

Adsense and you're trying to get views

and all of that like your views like I

got a ton of views like it has got me

2.5 million views so I mean 2.5 million

views is a lot but I couldn't really

make a full-time living off of it

because I wasn't selling anything I

wasn't really solving a big problem and

that's what I want you to think about

when you're creating your YouTube

channel are you solving a specific

problem that people actually want to pay

to find a solution for or do solve their

problem and I really want you to think

long and hard about this about what

problems should be fixed and what kind

of solution to sell to them and I go

through this a step-by-step in my tube
