exciting video I have a very special
guest on the sexy Adrian Morrison he's
made over 5.5 million dollars with
Shopify over forty thousand dollars in a
single day at Shopify drop shipping
obviously he's a legend in the Shopify
dropshipping ecommerce game so he's
gonna be coming on today talking about
the state of Shopify the state of drop
shipping in late 2019 early 2020 and
then at the end of the video we're gonna
be showing you guys some real live viral
products that adrian has been selling
during 2019 and then we're also gonna
show you guys some that are going to be
viral in 2020 it's gonna be a good one
stay tuned if we just got all my jewelry
and diamonds and started like dancing
with diamonds out and stuff they'll just
be fuckin belligerent it's being like I
don't have any alright guys welcome back
so Adrian give us like a 30-second kind
of introduction of how you got into the
game because I know you weren't always
an entrepreneur you actually studied for
the LSAT originally right yeah I am
legit I was in college I was gonna go to
law school I was gonna be an attorney I
filled the LSAT three times could not
get into law school I worked at a car
wash for five dollars and fifteen cents
an hour and Best Buy
yeah I had to figure something else so
literally like 10 years ago I started
doing all this stuff and Adrian's like
done so much you guys like he's created
million-dollar affiliate marketing
businesses he's such a wealth of
information so if you're here you're
definitely in the right place and you
have like over 10,000 Shopify students
like oh yeah well yeah well over 10,000
Shopify students so this is gonna be a
really good one so long day that are the
days in my opinion you can tell me if
you agree of you know when you could
just go find like a cat necklace on
ollie Express put up a simple facebook
ad and expect to become rich right like
that's dead totally that's completely
gone but like every business model right
probably one of the most common
questions that you and I both get is is
Shopify dead is it is it saturated is
dropshipping dead obviously the answer
is no right
Walmart does it all these huge companies
does it do it it'll never be dead but it
has changed right absolutely so tell us
how it's changed and
and how people can actually get ahead of
that in 2019 at the end of 2019 and into
2020 as well yeah for sure like you said
the the days we're going to get a cat
necklace and doing a cheap little offer
you have to have an actual business
model it doesn't mean that it's
complicated it just means you have to
put a little bit of common sense into
your marketing so we still sell like
these teeny little trinkets from Holly
Express and all that stuff but the real
key is understanding how to monetize on
the back of building a huge email list
and when you say back-end and what does
that mean the backend is a huge email
list and it's also going to be
understanding how to do remarketing not
retargeting but remarketing on Facebook
okay so explain to people what you mean
by email lists like how do you get
people's emails like what are you using
to send those emails out cool yeah so
the great thing about Shopify is that
whenever somebody starts going through
your funnel they have to order page to
add to cart page and then they hit the
the sales page when they hit the Add to
Cart page they put their email in even
if they don't buy oftentimes they'll
still go in your email list
right so you're building a huge email
list of non buyers so you can send them
abandoned cart emails and then you're
building a huge email list of buyers and
I think what a lot of people the last
two years have not focused on is how to
get your current customers back to your
store without paying any extra money
right so I use MailChimp and klaviyo
two really great tools with MailChimp
you now have to use a third-party app
called shop sync it's free and it'll
push all of your customers over to Mel
Jim and it's fully automated like it you
just install the app when your store and
it's done right so explain to people
what you mean by app a abandoned cart or
because we know that that's a very
important kind of thing that you have to
understand but for someone who's just
starting out they might not know exactly
doing it abandoned cart emails have made
me ridiculous amounts of money it's like
how many times have you been shopping on
a store or Amazon or Shopify store
whatever and you're in the middle of
checking out but your phone rang or
somebody popped in whatever and you
abandon the check outright you intended
to buy but something just happened right
so what abandoned checkout does is it
sends three emails over the course of 24
hours
to a customer
was going through the shopping cart they
put in their email address that's super
important and it gets them to come back
and finish their order with a discount
or just says hey you left something
behind
right and I'm telling you dude it may
it's like automated cash that comes in
when you set that up right and so so a
lot of people are wondering okay but how
do I find these viral products we are
gonna be talking about that in a few
minutes but something that I want to
address first and one of the most common
concerns that I know I get and I'm sure
you get to is how do we actually bring
traffic to our store right because we
can set up these stores it's not that
hard we can watch tutorials and stuff
like that but how do we get people to
actually come to our store because you
know there's so many different offers
out there like how are you getting
people initially interested in your
products straight-up Facebook ads I mean
dude I've been doing Facebook ads since
like 2008 you know I live and breathe
Facebook ads and it's so easy now
compared to you back then I still use to
this day a $5 per day budget for each of
my different ad sets you know each of my
different hats and I'm putting out there
because I'm starting with cheaper viral
products right and I think that is key
is starting with something on the the
cheaper end because when you're paying
for traffic on Facebook look if you're
selling something for $15 then you don't
need to spend much more than $15 on a
hat to determine if it's gonna be a
product that people buy so you talked to
me earlier about like kind of an
ascension model right this is really
important for you guys to understand you
can't I mean you can but it's much more
difficult to start out immediately with
like a two hundred dollar product right
right it's much more difficult to sell
that you have to get people interested
you have to get people's foot in the
door right like and so how are you
actually doing that can you kind of
explain like the free plus shipping and
how that evolves into like more
expensive products down the line fees
yeah no marketing anything absolutely a
lot of people are saying that free plus
shipping is dead I've been doing it
since like 2015 I mean it's like keep
saying that because it just makes it
easier for me and my students but the
fact of the matter is is that free plus
shipping isn't gonna make you a
millionaire right like you can't put a
free plus shipping product on your store
and think that you're gonna make
millions it's just not gonna happen
you have to understand that that free
plus shipping product whatever it may be
is what I call a niche breaker yeah
is something that will get a lot of
likes a lot of shares a lot of comments
a lot of follows on Facebook and
Instagram and a lot of volume and sales
and then after you get that customer in
the door the next step is selling them
item in the same niche that's a little
bit more expensive right
so we'll do a free plus shipping offer
at 1097 for shipping and handling we'll
follow that up with this is stupid I've
sold an insane amount of these but
pillow covers yeah pictures of dogs on
them or spilt wine images on them and
we'll sell those for $15 yeah and then
we'll bump up and we'll send them a
email and sell em a t-shirt or 24 and
then eventually yoga pants for $90 and
bedding for a hundred and twenty dollars
over time right so speaking of free plus
shipping a lot of people don't know that
you can actually combine some of these
things right because like we've all
heard about print on demand it's a
really interesting idea but maybe let's
jump into your screen you can show us
kind of an example of a free plus
shipping maybe a print on demand in the
new day & age right because it used to
be a little bit different you kind of
have to be a little bit more evolved now
so let's look at how you actually do it
into 2020 and then guys we're gonna
reveal some viral products from this
year and also some trending viral
products that you can get ahead of and
selling next year let's jump in Adrian's
computer all right so when you're logged
in your Shopify store you can go to the
app section and everybody knows about
Shopify you can install tons of amazing
hats on Shopify so yeah but more free
some of them are paid yes today I'm
gonna show everybody a completely free
out it is called shine home they are an
amazing company that are actually
located in the US the products are in
the US and it ships super fast so then
shine on what they specialize in is
print-on-demand
jewelry right and this is an interesting
point because most people think
print-on-demand is just t-shirts but
that's not actually the case anymore no
way dude there are so many different
products that you can do with
print-on-demand
it's absolutely ridiculous and people
love that customization you know what I
mean
yeah so and the thing is is a lot of
people associate parental demand with
having to be you know creative and get a
graphic designer
so I'm gonna show everybody away today
that they can do parental demand and let
the customers just upload their own
images but do two
b20 print-on-demand wednesdays or the
creativity not you that's right I make
the customer work for you and pay you
yeah
all right so the cool thing about shinin
is they're the only company that I know
of so far that has a actual free plus
shipping product built in and this is
brand new it just came out and it's this
little necklace right here now I have
like seven free designs that I'll
actually give you that you can share
with everybody to start out with for
this and different niches but
essentially you can put this little bar
necklace on your store right here you
can put little images on it a little
sayings like we go to Pinterest and find
quotes about daughters and grandparents
and dog rescues and stuff and on
Pinterest you can find quotes that
really like kind of resonate by looking
at the social proof right the ones that
get repin to the most the ones they get
like the most are obviously like the
quotes that resonate most with people
absolutely yeah and you look at which
ones are going viral on Pinterest and if
that most repent
yeah so like this necklace right here we
did one on our store called a heartbeat
necklace right here so this is it so
it's just a little picture of a
heartbeat like you can give this to on
Facebook you can target expecting
parents right you can target people with
kids it could be like a kid's heartbeat
it could be a nursing niche necklace
love whatever you want it to be so this
is free plus shipping but here's the
thing like I said earlier free plus
shipping is not going to make you a
millionaire you have to have
optimization monetization and this app
does it completely free and
automatically for you so somebody comes
here and says I want to buy this
necklace I just click the button and it
was on my store yeah so they had the
cart when they had Add to Cart what's
gonna come up here is I'm gonna zoom in
on this is an automated upsell that's
gonna say ok now it's free plus shipping
and handling
but for $9.99 you can engrave something
on the back of it right boom upsell that
gets I think a 30% take rate is what the
founder of shine own told me or you
could say you know what I want to go big
and get the 18 karat gold-plated one for
$15.95 and remember guys when Adrienne
says that you know how you actually make
profit is on the back end right he
doesn't just mean email marketing this
is definitely something that I would
consider like mid to back end as well
where you're monetizing
further beyond that three plus shipping
you're getting people in the door and
then once they're already there you're
actually you know increasing your
average cart value and that's when
you're starting to make significant
profits totally this 100% right you know
free is the most powerful word in the
world creates buying frenzies yep so you
get to leverage the word free but you
also get to upsell people to retail
items where big profits are so from here
they can customize it they can upgrade
the 18 karat gold or they can just do
the engraving right they can do both
whatever they want to do so we get
people in with this right here but the
other cool thing about shine on is they
have other products so they have dog
tags they're about to start doing
watches that you can engrave stuff on
the back of washes wallets huge and
they've got like this and this engraved
little bar necklace right here which is
just straight fire it's selling like
crazy you don't have to do anything you
should publish and that's once again
shipped from the US also this is my
favorite part is making the customer
work for you so these are called
customer upload custom pieces you can do
a heart necklace laser engraved a dog
tag you've got a bangle bracelet and all
I have to do for any of these is just
simply hit publish and it will put it on
my store it'll allow the customer to
then go in and upload their own image to
this endued when we started selling
these my own staff went to my store and
started buying this with pictures of
their kids and grandkids and stuff and I
saw like an order from my virtual
assistant and I was like what are you
doing she's like these are really great
ya know people people love their family
and things like that so I mean what an
amazing way to use and leverage
print-on-demand free plus shipping to
get people in the door and then you know
further monetize with other upsells so
let's talk about how to actually find
additional products how do we how are we
identifying viral trends how are we
finding those products let's talk about
a way to do product research all mention
a way as well and then we're actually
gonna reveal some real viral products
that we currently sell and going into
2020 that you could try to get ahead of
and sell yourself all right so here we
are on Aliexpress and I admit I still do
a lot of research the old-school way
you look at Facebook ads and what other
people are doing and then we go to
Aliexpress and we always keep our high
on every niche and we come over here and
we organize it by orders so which
products are getting the most orders in
the dog niche that's one of my biggest
niches made a lot of money there so
that's what I'm going to show you so we
start identifying little viral products
like this little toothbrush sells crazy
right here this is that a dog toothbrush
yes it is a dog toothbrush and you got
to think about this
people are super passionate about their
dogs they blow tons of money on their
dogs all sorts of stuff so we'll go
through and like we started selling a
product similar to this we did over 800
or $700,000 selling a simple little
viral safety product and the the thing
that we did with it is we took it and we
said this is gonna keep your dog safe
this many dogs per year get hit by car
soon and so forth right and think about
this guys Adrian didn't type in like dog
collar right he didn't the type in
anything specific he wants to let the
market tell him what is actually
trending so he typed in a very general
term just the word dog and then is
evaluating based on the actual number of
orders yeah absolutely like I'm not
trying to act like I know everything in
the world I want the universe to tell me
you know what it wants so we come over
here we find little products like this
and then we start pushing them on
facebook ads but then immediately when
we find out the dog niche is really big
we start looking at on Google what are
the top ten breeds for dogs yorkese
Rottweilers beagles poodles so on and so
forth now here's where I take a twist on
things obviously I like to do a lot of
print-on-demand I start selling little
products like this get boatloads of
customers picks potata
yeah tons of pixel data tons of
remarketing tons of emails and then I
jump over to platforms like say pillar
profits another criminal demand platform
and I can come over here and I can type
in dog and they have a catalogue built
in Shopify and this company is called
playboy profits of boatloads of dog
stuff dog bedding dog cover seats dog
pillows I'm telling you dude I've sold
so many dog pillows it's stupid over the
show
spreaders people buy this stuff I can't
believe it but they buy this stuff um I
also go to places like shutterstock and
I start looking for images of different
dog breeds like this little image right
here of this Corgi which is a very
popular breed look or you will get a
license for this you can just click on
upgrade to enhance license right now I
have the right to sell this and then I
can throw this on all of those shine own
products like all of these necklaces
here I can start selling that image all
of these types of products now I'm
hitting Corgi owners I'm hitting you
know Yorkie owners so on and so forth
and then I jumped into Facebook and I go
down to the detail targeting down here
and this is also a great tool for
helping me predict what's going to be
viral in this particular and each
because I can come over here and I could
type in you know Corgi dogs and I'll see
that there's five point nine million
people interested in corgis right but I
can also type in pitbull and you'll see
that you got 28 million people
interested in pitbulls
so when I dive into this particular
niche I also let the Facebook detail
targeting tell me what's the most viral
dog breed right and this is an
incredible way guys to do things you
know using all of the different free
tools if you want to kind of try to
streamline this there's other ways and
there's software out there where you can
just kind of have somebody else go do
all the hard work for you but of course
it's like anything in life right like if
you have more time than money then go do
it yourself you know a little bit more
manually if you have you know a little
bit of budget you can you know leverage
tools and and software to actually kind
of go out there and find the viral
products for you so let's take a look at
one of those tools it's called shop
inspect and this is actually the first
time I've ever showed Adrian this this
is a tool that we originally built for
my students but we've actually kind of
expanded a little bit and mentioned a
few times on YouTube but essentially
what it does is it goes out and it finds
you know it scrapes through tens of
millions of products from all around the
web and it finds things that have a
significant growth in the past week
right and so it looks at products that
had you know maybe last week they had
ten orders and this week they have a
thousand so there's like a huge
percentage increase you can see that you
know some of these products have a
12,000 percent increase you can see that
there's camera lens pouches LED faucet
head right things that you wouldn't
necessarily think about and for
kind of the hardest part sometimes I
think for a lot of people too is just
kind of coming up with that original
idea right kind of getting like writer's
block but for sure you know under
Bruce's market research and so having a
tool like shop inspect where you can
kind of come in and look at already pre
proven viral products like led Fawcett
heads door screen mesh and then when you
come in you can actually see you know
the personalized product video like a
free video that you can run as an ad
that's already done for you you can
literally set the selling features and
then you just create the video export it
and it's literally ready to plug in to a
facebook ad you can also scroll down you
can see the weekly sales of the actual
product you can see the customer
demographics like how many males
actually like this product how many
females and then you can even get
suggested interests for ad targeting
bath and Bodyworks right bathroom bed
bath and beyond for this showerhead
excuse me for this led faucet head and
that just takes so much of the manual
effort out of the process dude if I
hadn't had this tool when I started with
drop shipping in 2015 they would have
said I would have made far more money by
now than I've already made because we
were scouring Facebook like I just said
just looking for other people's ads that
were viral looking at video views
comments shares and lights I mean this
does all the work for you it literally
does all the work for you and the cool

super generic I look for generic
products that are going viral because
they appeal to the masses
with very little targeting so 3d
printing is gonna be huge right and it's
just now kind of starting out so one of
the things that's gone super viral I
don't know the exact stats so I don't
want to say them but it was in the
multiple six figures within I believe a
month
yep was this little 3d printed necklace
right here with the two interlocking
horse I remember seeing that actually
yeah it's everywhere it's only $12.54
and you can retell it for up to like $50
right so huge profit margins very cheap
call shows from the US and 3d printed
which is super super high quality as
well so that right there is a product
that you don't have to customize you
just press a button it's published to
your store you can find similar products
to that you know all over different drop
ship from drop ship vendors on how they
express in other places yeah and so you
know there's kind of two there's two
models right you can go try to find like
the like Darth Vader bathrobe or like
something like random I don't know why
that was the first thing that came into
my head but you could try to find like
the Darth Vader bathrobe or you can just
kind of think that you know these things
are popular for a reason because a lot
of people like them and Adrian takes the
approach where he appeals to the masses
where you know it's not really gonna
take that much to sell you know a mother
of a beautiful necklace that they can
custom engrave like love your daughter
or whatever right and you can target
people on Facebook with upcoming
birthdays and anniversaries gifts
there's so many ways to actually
integrate this so let's talk about 2020
and how to actually approach going
forward with drop shipping what what
would be like a piece of advice that
you'd give people who want to get
involved with Shopify with drop shipping
going forward into 2020 like I said
before going for it in the 2020 you have
to understand that when you set up your
Shopify store you don't need to focus on
a zillion different products and just
trying to sell one of each of them you
need to really find one product that is
viral that you can scale and then focus
on monetizing it on the back end so I
would say my biggest focus would still
be building an email list collecting
emails right emailing people on the
backend and gamification is still going
to be huge in 2020 what are different
ways that you can gamify shopping on
your Shopify store
I know a lot of you have seen the
wheelie camp right we're developing
stuff that's doing like slot machines
and and bingo and all sorts of stuff
just to get people to play to earn
discounts to shop because people enjoy
being entertained while they're shopping
