what is up internet it's Kevin from that
lifestyle ninja and today I'm gonna be
teaching you exactly what to do if you
get hit with a hijacker so the first
thing you should do is not panic this is
selling on Amazon at one point or
another and unless you spend a lot of
time and/or money getting your brand
gated it's something that you're gonna
eventually deal with too
so the first thing you want to do is
take a look at the seller who's hijacked
your listing you want to check to see
whether they're offering prime shipping
or you want to check to see whether they
are shipping from you know mainly in
China or Hong Kong or one one of those
places around there so regardless of
which type of shipping they're offering
whether it's prime or whether they're
shipping from mainland China the very
first thing you always want to do when
you get a hijacker is send over a
cease-and-desist letter and so we have
some templates made up that we offer for
free for all of our advanced FB a
facebook group members and one of the
things that we found has made the
highest impact is not only writing the
cease-and-desist letter in english but
also including a Chinese translation so
first guys let's talk about what to do
if they are offering prime shipping if
they are offering prime shipping the
very first thing you want to do is buy
one of their units you want to expedite
the shipping to one-day shipping and you
want to get it to you as soon as you
possibly can the next thing you want to
do is if you don't want them to get any
of your sales right because down the
line if they're selling these
counterfeit products that aren't really
your products of the ASA and product
listing that you actually created
yourself then that means it's probably
going to be lower quality which means
that you're probably going to get poor
reviews for them and the hijacker is not
going to get those reviews you are right
so you want to make sure that you win
back the buy box and the best way to do
that in the short term is by
undercutting their price alright guys so
once that product arrives then what you
want to do now is take a picture of the
product packaging you want to take a
picture of the product itself you want
to make sure you highlight every single
difference between this hijacker fake
counterfeit product and your real
products right and you want to make sure
that you include that FN SKU right your
your UPC barcode that you have either on
your packaging or on the
itself right because that's the one
thing that this hijacker isn't going to
be able to recreate exactly you know
even if they're really trying to copy
you all the way to the you know product
packaging and your logos and everything
like that they're not going to be able
to generate your FN SKU right guys
because that's only coming from your
seller central account so take pictures
of all of this and then head over to the
Amazon report infringement Forum which I
have link below in the description and
fill it out and include all of the
photos and all of the data you can write
guys and you want to make sure that you
highlight the fact that you're worried
about the Amazon customer shopping
experience you're worried about these
fakes being potentially dangerous to the
Amazon consumer right because from
Amazon's perspective all they care about
as their customers they're the most
customer centric company in the world so
you want to make sure that you're
highlighting the potential detriments
that could be facing the Amazon
customers more so than you know these
detrimental effects to you as a seller
because Amazon really only cares about
their customers all right guys so what
do you do if your highjacker is not
offering prime shipping so you want to
follow a lot of the same steps right you
want to always send out that cease and
desist letter preferably in both English
and Chinese and if they're not offering
prime shipping that's actually an
advantage for you right because that
means you don't have to undercut them on
price so if they if they're hijacking
your listing at $15 you don't have to go
to $14.99 because your prime shipping
actually carries with it a very large
weight in the algorithm that determines
who wins the buy box right so if they
are not offering prime shipping send out
that cease and desist and then if you if
they're really not gonna go away then
you might have to do a test buy take the
same photos fill out the same report
infringement form that I have linked
below and you kind of have to just wait
it out which isn't always what people
want to hear but it's one of the it's
one of the tough parts about selling on
Amazon so another thing that we've
learned over time is if you are stocking
out and you have hijackers waiting on
your listing something that you can do
if you stopped out and then they win the
buy box is
can actually change your main photo to
just a pure white photo and you can
actually remove all of your back-end
keywords and you know save these things
in a safe place you know on your desktop
and some special folder with your main
product photo and all of your back-end
keywords so that you can you know get
them up quickly once you're back in
stock but this really has a big effect
on the amount of sales that you're gonna
be driving to your product listing and
if you don't have the buy box you don't
want a Chinese seller to be sending out
a bunch of fake units for your listing
so this is a way that we've learned to
kind of deter buyers I know it sounds
strange to drive buyers away from your
product listing but if you're not
selling your real products trust us it's
not worth it to let them sell these
lower quality products and then you pay
for it down the line with negative
reviews alright guys I hope that was
