today we're talking about what people do
in the morning the first moment they
wake up so my first question to you is
what do you guys do in the morning the
first three minutes when you
wake up the
first 180 seconds of your day what do
you guys do here's what a lot of people
do okay they get up and then they pick
up their phones and then they start
surfing watching YouTube videos checking
what's happening on social media
checking Instagram Facebook Twitter
answering emails some people even start
watching Netflix the moment they wake up
it's ridiculous I mean you just woke up
and you haven't even brushed your teeth
yet you just got up and you're scrolling
through Facebook answering whatsapp
messages and I get it sometimes it's
necessary to answer those urgent
messages but in most occasions it can
the mornings are your most precious
hours why waste them with trivial
matters the morning hour is when your
mind is fresh and motivated it's when
you have the energy to do creative
complex and difficult work you can focus
this energy and motivation on the things
that really matter to you your goals
your dreams and your ambitions or you
can waste them on social media and TV so
one of the things I'm learning to do to
drastically increase my productivity is
and you can do this too I give myself
three minutes three solid minutes of
just doing nothing I don't pick up my
I don't snooze my alarm I don't start
watching TV I do absolutely nothing for
three minutes 180 seconds of doing
nothing I call this time think time just
think time that I use to just think and
reflect to reflect on my goals to
reflect on what I did yesterday or not
what I need to do today what I need to
accomplish who I need to see what work I
need to do and so on so let's get that
right that first three minutes can
really set up your day that's all it is
guys three minutes 180 seconds so once
you've won the first three minutes of
your day now comes the second challenge
so for the next hour as soon as you
leave the comfort and warmth of your bed
use the 2020 rule to start your day the
2020 rule is a concept made popular by
Robin Sharma and the entire purpose of
this rule is to dramatically increase
the productivity of your morning so what
the rule says is that for the next hour
as soon as you wake up this hour will be
split into three productivity sessions
each consisting of 20 minute periods the
first 20 minutes should be spent
exercising yes exercise and I know what
you're probably thinking exercise do I
really need to I mean getting up is
already hard enough you want me to start
exercising like dude seriously and yes
exercise is hard but the benefits are
exercise reduces stress increases
motivation it increases concentration
and the ability to learn it lowers your
cholesterol level it keeps you lean and
healthy and a whole lot of other
benefits so yeah guys 20 minutes that's
all twenty minutes to a much healthier
and successful life you can pick from a
variety of different exercises you can
go running walking you can do skip rope
jumping push-ups literally anything that
will elevate your heart rate for the
next 20 minutes yes you can even have
sex if your partner is willing for 20
minutes the next 20 minutes should be
dedicated to planning your day sit
someplace cozy for about 20 minutes and
either just review or plan your day this
will give you super focus and
inspiration because once you know what
you need to do you know what needs to
get done especially if it's written down
and if it's written down it will most
likely get done scheduling your day is
imperative especially if you want to get
things done there's an old quote that I
like and it says we don't plan to fail
but we fail because we do not plan
planning your day is one of those small
gyms that is constantly overlooked and
ignored but if used correctly and
applied it can significantly improve
Robin Sharma says the last 20 minutes
should be used to learn use the last 20
minutes to learn what you read in the
morning can influence your day
drastically if you want to be inspired
read inspirational essays or books if
you want to feel happy read books or
articles on happiness listen to audio
but just make sure you're learning and
