talk about affiliate marketing for

beginners here in 2019 I'm going to talk

about how the affiliate marketing

landscape has changed and if you're

attention to my main man Frank Kern for

the past little while he's very well

known in the internet marketing industry

and he introduced this new concept

called intent-based branding and the

idea is not to brand yourself for the

next two to five years and then finally

sell something which a lot of you know

brands do that what the concept of

intent-based branding is is being able

to give value and sell all

simultaneously so you're demonstrating

to people that you can help them by

actually helping them and then making an

offer at the end of your videos and I

didn't realize this but I was doing that

pretty much the whole time I've been

making money online for the past six

years full-time at least is I've been

following this process really without

even knowing it I like to coin it

instant influencing because when people

see you on YouTube when people just see

you on video they're accustomed to

thinking that okay

celebrity status when I see somebody on

video they're well-known they're an

authority you know and so I think

YouTube really gives us the opportunity

in video in general gives us the

opportunity to kind of position

ourselves as an authority within the

marketplace and so what I'm going to do

is I'm going to walk you through this

whole instant influencing process as

much as I can and I hope you guys get

some value from this so first of all

let's show you the proof let's Tim

straight that this process actually

works so I'm here in my stripe account

this is one of my income streams where I

sell my own products and affiliate

products and just in the past year I've

done just about $52,000 in this specific

account and then if we jump over here

this is an affiliate product that I

promoted over the past year this is

another $18,000 18,700 eighty two

dollars and thirty four cents in this

specific account using instant

influencing also in Clickbank if I log

in here you can see this is my account

nickname guts and glory if I go to the

reporting section and then I go to

paychecks you guys can see that I've

been paid out exactly sixty-eight

thousand sixty six dot fourteen cents

here in 2018 so you can feel free to add

up these numbers as we go I don't want

to bore you with that if we jump into

the next account this is two thousand

two hundred and seventy seven dollars we

jump it in the next account this is

seven thousand five hundred fifty five

dollars and some of these income streams

are new or like in the past month so

you'll notice that some of them haven't

been paid out yet we've got this

particular system twenty six thousand

seven hundred and seventy five dollars

that was actually generated just in the

past month using instant influencing so

this is to show you guys that this stuff

what I'm teaching here works and if you

take what I'm teaching you in this video

and you implement it it will drastically

change your life and your business

forever no one is doing this out there

effectively most people are looking for

the shortcuts methods like funnel

hacking short-term blogging methods

short term you know youtube methods what

I'm teaching you is going to be a long

term method that's going to separate

yourself from everybody else in the

marketplace because that's truly what

you need to do if you want to make money

online if you want to build a business

you need to differentiate yourself from

the marketplace you need to look at what

everybody else is doing and you need to

find out how can I be different what

my USP what is my unique selling

proposition or my unique positioning I

guess just your yupi and what's so cool

about this process is you don't have to

be a salesperson to make money online

what you need to have is a skill set and

you need to demonstrate to people that

you can help them with that skill set

and then simply make offers at the end

of your video and then lead people to

like an affiliate product that does the

rest of the selling and telling it for

you the biggest problem that people have

is building the relationship cultivating

a relationship building a bond with

their audience and so what I want to do

in this video is show you how to build a

long-term bond show you how to create

endless traffic and show you how to

convert that traffic into your business

right we need eyeballs to our websites

our web pages our funnels in turn that

is called traffic for those of you that

are new we need people going in the

front door going to our website

constantly if we're going to make the

money and build the business that we

truly want to build so let's go ahead

and let's show you this process I'm

going to illustrate a story here so

early on in my business right I was

going through a bunch of different

products I was jumping from opportunity

opportunity I was getting my feet wet

essentially I was in the process of

learning a skill set without even

knowing that I was learning a skill set

and so one of the ideas in affiliate

marketing and marketing in general is to

just dive in headfirst pick something

whether it be helping small businesses

get customers affiliate marketing

network marketing whatever it is dive in

headfirst and eventually you'll be led

down the right path so money like speed

right and the faster that you can fail

the faster that you can gain experiences

the faster you're going to be able to

succeed in this industry right and so

for the first five years I'm not saying

you need to fail for five years because

the information that we have today we

didn't have back when I got started the

Facebook communities the YouTube video

is just a value the content that you're

watching we

have back you know when I got started

and so I fell for five years in the make

money online space trying to learn how

to make money online with business

opportunities

well I failed and failed and fell and I

soon realized that my success wasn't in

the opportunity that I was joining the

success was in the marketing of that

opportunity I'm gonna say that one more

time

the success was not in the opportunity

itself it was in the marketing of the

opportunity so I learned to go from a

student to a teacher and read between

the lines and understand how I was being

marketed to and versus being a consumer

I started being a merchant and that was

the first real lesson I learned so after

failing for five years and gaining all

this experience from buying all these

different products I thought to myself

you know what I could do is now that I

kind of know what I'm doing I can help

people pick the products that are

actually going to make a difference in

their lives in business and stay away

from the products that are just flat out

scams

now I say that the success is in the

marketing of the product now if you

can't understand the marketing of the

product there are products of course

need to go out there and buy so you

understand the marketing right so I was

at a point where I just went through so

many sales videos I went through so many

gift different gurus I kind of

understood what they were doing and I

had bought a bunch of different products

and I was able to decipher the good

products from the bad so what I decided

to do is I'm like I'm gonna help people

save money you know I've gathered all

this information from all these products

I all these experiences I'm gonna help

them you know buy products that will

actually help them versus purchase

internet marketing products that don't

serve them and don't help them that are

just complete scams and so that's what I

did

I created a channel called real IM

reviews and actually before I created

this channel I was putting up videos

like these on like hundreds of separate

little channels out there on YouTube

because I was gaming this

I became really good at ranking videos

and I understood that if I put these

little videos on a bunch of separate

channels and optimize them I can rank

them fairly quickly versus having one

broad channel okay so like this was my

first experience my first success but it

was also a lesson because all these

little channels that I had hundreds of

them they were giving getting me a lot

of traffic for a lot of time but then

YouTube decided to change the algorithm

and then my rankings went to nothing my

rankings went to zero and so I had to

start over with a brand new channel and

build up my subscriber base and it

became more about having one Authority

YouTube channel than having a bunch of

mini YouTube channels that were just

short term tactics and so I went from

this tactical marketer to thinking more

along term and that's when I created

this real IM reviews channel where i

went and i reviewed internet marketing

products for internet marketers and i

also reviewed network marketing business

opportunities for network marketers so

as helping network markers generate more

leads and sells in their business online

and i was also helping internet

marketers pick the products that were

legitimate and that weren't scams that

would help them build their business

whether they were starting a business or

growing a business so that was the whole

purpose of this channel so I started

understanding the nuances of products

that were legitimate versus products

that were complete scams and I help

people save a lot of money with this

channel and I made money at the same

time so essentially what I would do is I

would purchase the product it was an

internet marketing product I would go

through the product and show people on

screen me going through the product and

then I would give them my honest verdict

whether the product was legitimate or

not and then I would offer to give

something away for free so I would give

them value in the video regardless if

they decided to buy that product or not

that's okay because what I was doing is

I was building goodwill with my target

audience so I'd build goodwill with them

and at the end I would give them

something away for free like a free

report a free video series or I would

recommend a product that worked

incredibly well for me and so this

created my first six figures online by

following this process in rinsing and

repeating by helping network marketers

and online marketers and then I took it

to the next level I got to a point where

I'm like okay I really need to scale

this thing and I need to be able to

create more traffic and that's when I

eventually created my primary channel

now we'll get into that strategy in just

a second what I want to do is I want to

outline to you exactly what I did to you

know start generating some income using

and leveraging this specific channel

right here so by this point you should

understand that I'm helping network

marketers number one take their business

online so what I would do is I would go

out there and I would find the new

network marketing companies and also old

network marketing companies and I would

review them because I understood that if

somebody was looking for a review on a

network marketing company they were most

likely already in a network marketing

company or they wanted to get started in

a network marketing company okay so what

I would do in that video is I would

explain the problems with network

marketing the current state of network

marketing like doing three-way calls you

know cold calling doing hotel meetings

preaching a dream and living in

nightmare when you're building a network

marketing business you know how much

time it actually takes to build a

business I mean you're on the phone or

you're on calls you're talking to

prospects all day long and but yet

you're you're helping people quit their

jobs just to get into another job and

that's what I found for myself and so

what I wanted to do is teach people that

yeah network marketing is great but you

need to go with the right network

marketing opportunity and you need to be

able to build your business online that

has

leverage so you could be making money

while you're sleeping so the whole

purpose of my videos was to tell people

the current problems are gonna face in

their business or that they're currently

facing and what they need to do to

change that so I'm identifying the

problem and I'm offering a solution and

so the solution would be my product or

program that would help them build their

business online have more freedom and

have more leverage and then I would send

them to an affiliate product or even a

network marketing company that's online

based that would provide the training

that would help them to be able to do

that okay so that was the idea behind in

the psychology behind this whole entire

channel so I would go and I would do

research on network marketing companies

like you have this first result here

list of multi-level marketing companies

and I would write all these down and

then I would do reviews on them and I

would throw them into my channel right

so if you go down here you can see some

years ago by the way Nu Skin four years

ago 1.8 thousand views 8.2 thousand

views and I would basically tell them

hey here's the problem with your network

marketing company not exactly the

problem right I wouldn't say your

network marketing company sucks but I'm

like hey this is probably what you're

facing and if you want the answer to

this click the link below and this

product this opportunity is going to

give you the answer to that and so

that's what I did and I would rinse and

repeat rinse and repeat and you can see

how amateur I mean look at these videos

this is me in my parents basement giving

advice to people and I was amazed at how

well it was actually working I created

my first six figures by following this

exact process right and then I would

have a little watermark on my video so

it's very simple I would take my web

camera

I use my web camera early on then

eventually I graduated to an iPhone and

I would plug my video once I'm done even

if I have mistakes in it I would just

plug it into a little software called

the iMovie I would add a watermark and I

would upload it straight to YouTube and

then it was pretty much that simple and

I did this day in and day out so in this

day and age this is how you want to

build goodwill is you want to be

uploading content consistently I would

recommend every single day and if you're

somebody that's completely new you're

like Josh I don't want to I don't want

to do any of this like this is

overwhelming I don't want to be on

camera guess what you don't have to you

can use a software like

screencast-o-matic you can use Camtasia

you can use ScreenFlow I'm using

Camtasia here to share my screen you can

download that and you can actually show

your screen and you don't have to show

your face what you could do is start

your videos off with your Facebook

profile showing pictures of yourself

because you want to show people that you

like you're a real person like you have

nothing to hide but if you're shy that's

okay when I was first shy I would

actually tell people that I'm shy

and because I told people I was shy I

typically attracted and and sort of

inspired people that were shy because

they saw me oh there's this other shy

person

this introverted person that's making

money online if they can do it I can do

it so you want to own who you are you

want to use that to sort of sell for

lack of a better word even though I

don't consider myself a sales person I

consider myself a value person because I

give so much value to people you know

that's what causes them to buy stuff

from me so the reason why you might be

failing if you're trying to make money

online it's because you need to give

more value you need to give more than

you're getting and you need to follow a

strategy that shows people that you're

genuine that you're real that you really

want to help people because the answer

that I get most often as to why people

buy from me is they tell me because I'm

I seem very down-to-earth and very

genuine in my videos and I am that way

and you guys can do the same thing

there's no reason why you can't do this

I mean go to this channel study my

marketing go through these videos and

you're gonna realize that wow I'm really

no different than you and I thought that

I was absolutely terrible on camera

I even have videos a little bit older

than this where I was just how it was

absolutely terrible maybe I'll show you

in one of these other videos but that's

what I did starting out is I created

this channel and then eventually I'm

like okay we need to scale up so I

started documenting my results from this

channel to my authority channel which is

Joshua elder we've got thirty four

thousand subscribers at this point

appreciate you guys for your support the

idea here is to document the results I'm

getting from my real I am reviews

channel and this helps me kind of

piggyback off of those results and

generate more results so think about how

you can do this in your own niche right

because you're gonna need to go out

there you're gonna need to pick a niche

you're gonna need to you know pick a

product but you really need to decide on

the problem that you want to solve in

your industry what is that do you want

to help people

maybe pick the right weight loss

supplements fitness supplements maybe

your whole channel is all about you know

helping people lose weight and you

review supplements that help people lose

weight just like I reviewed online

marking products that help people avoid

scams right so it doesn't have to be

product based but you need to solve a

specific problem and that's what I did

is I solved the specific problem and

then I eventually build built an

authority Channel more of a branded

channel so I've got a themed channel

right here that's what this is called

this rely in reviews channel and I

eventually built a branded channel where

again I put out more goodwill the more

goodwill you put out the easier it is to

sell people stuff you could be a

terrible salesperson but great at giving

value people are still going to buy from

you so long gone are the days where you

need to have these one-liners and know

these sells tactics

to make money you know I rely less on

that stuff and more on just you know

flat out value for people so what I

started doing in this channel is I

started you know again here's the

results I'm getting from I rely in

reviews Channel and then I began

learning more about affiliate marketing

and I started going for you know

subjects based around affiliate

marketing as a whole so instead of just

helping people in the biz op space in

the network marketing space

I now branched out to the affiliate

marketing space so this channel is more

about helping people live a life of

freedom passion fulfillment helping them

make more money helping them become more

healthy more wealthy and so for the past

year I've really focused on helping

people you know really become more

wealthy so every video is about making

money building an income from home and I

still review some some products here and

there and you know I document what's

going on in my life so that's really

what I'm doing in this channel but you

can see this is all organic free traffic

okay

one of the great things about leveraging

free traffic is it doesn't cost any

money and it just requires your time

you're not risking money on paid

advertising there's so many people that

are risky money on paid advertising but

because they don't understand the

foundation of marketing they don't

understand how to create free content

that's like a prerequisite because if

you if you suck it you know if you just

go into paid traffic and you don't know

you don't understand your market and you

don't know how to build a bond and a

relationship with people you're going to

fail and the way to learn how to build a

real bond in a relationship with people

is to put out content so whether you're

doing paid traffic or free traffic you

need content out there right you need if

you're doing paid traffic and you're

doing email marketing and you follow up

with people through email you need

videos you need Facebook posts you need

content out there that you can direct

people to and of course video is the

future you know

you can't just direct link to a campaign

anymore and expect people are gonna buy

you know from a solo ad on the front end

people are getting accustomed to that

it's about what you're doing on the back

end it's about the relationship that

you're building with your list I know I

sound redundant here but I can't I need

you to get really really clear on this

on how important this is and so if

marketing it's content it's consistent

content every single day and it's making

offers inside of that specific content
