Facebook Ads Tutorial 2019 *NEW PART 2* | Become A Facebook Ads Manager Expert In Under 20 Minutes


hey this is Ryan Hildreth and in this
video I'm going to show you exactly how
to run profitable Facebook ads to turn
your ads into cash on autopilot but
before we get started and jump on my
computer I need you to click that

so we're here on my computer and I'm
going to be showing you Facebook
advertising that works okay it's 2019
this is gonna be working from now up
until Facebook you know makes a big
major update and I will release another
video that will go over those updates
but for now this is how Facebook
advertising works so if you're someone
that you know is not making money with
Facebook ads this is a perfect video for
you if you're not getting the results
you wanted maybe you are making money
but you know that you can make more with
your business advertising through
Facebook this is gonna be perfect for
you and also I'm gonna show you if you
you know if you want to turn a 100 into
$300 consistently with Facebook ads I'm
gonna show you exactly how I'm doing
that in this video
okay so stay tuned for this and first
I'm gonna dive into and show you some of
my results okay now this is a business
that I just started running several
months ago and I've spent about you know
close to almost $30,000 as you can see
at the bottom of the screen I've spent
about twenty nine thousand three hundred
twenty-six dollars in ads ad spend on
this particular website okay on this
business that I started from scratch
several months ago so you know the
results of spending twenty nine thousand
I've generated you know thirty four
thousand are almost thirty five thousand
here an additional twenty two thousand
here so you know almost sixty thousand
just on the front end of this business
in an additional twenty five thousand on
the back so over eighty thousand dollars
generated from thirty thousand dollars
in ad spend okay so I'm gonna show you
exactly how I'm doing that
by you know going through three specific
steps that I need you to follow with
Facebook ads that a lot of people aren't
showing they're not showing here on
YouTube they're making you pay thousands
of dollars for but I'm gonna you know
reveal some of those strategies today
okay so the biggest thing with Facebook
ads is that if you're getting started
with Facebook ads maybe you have already
spent thousands of dollars whether
whether or not you're on either side of
the spectrum you have to give Facebook
data ok Facebook is an ever learning
machine learning platform okay it's so
smart and the more data that you give
Facebook the better okay so if you're
just starting out with Facebook Ads
you've never ran an ad before here's one
of two things that you're gonna have to
do okay one or the other either you
currently have a business an online
business or you have you know a
brick-and-mortar business but you have
emails okay you need at least 300 emails
so a customer email list alright so if
you do not have a business with 300
customer emails then you're gonna want
to do the second thing okay so if you do
all right we're gonna login to your ads
manager you're gonna log in to your
Facebook Ads manager and you're gonna
upload those emails if they're in an
Excel spreadsheet you're gonna upload
them right into your audiences tab okay
and I'll show you quickly how to do that
now if you're someone who doesn't have
any emails don't worry I'm gonna show
you also right here what to do okay so
as you can see have created tons of
audiences right here you know audiences
with millions of people in them and how
I was able to do that was I created an
audience I created a custom audience
okay and I clicked on that and I went
right brag and drop my Excel spreadsheet
with all my emails of my customer list
in there and Facebook made an audience
for me right here as you can see this
custom audience and what I did was I
created a multiple look-alike audiences
based on my email list okay and what
that does is
basically it's giving Facebook more data
to work with it's taking a look at your
email list and it's saying okay these
are these are your customers all right
I'm gonna go find people that look just
like these people you know with the same
amount of money that are interested in
purchasing purchasing your product or
service and I'm gonna serve your ads to
those people okay so that is the best
way now if you don't have 300 emails on
your list then you're gonna want to have
at least three to five hundred dollars
to spend to get data alone and to know
that you know you're not gonna you're
probably not gonna make you know you're
probably you might break even or be at a
loss at first to gather data okay but
it's not a loss it's an investment in
your business because you're gathering
data so what you're gonna want to do is
go right up here go to audience insights
and go ahead and create an audience on
Facebook okay so that you can start
getting results faster all right so if
you haven't done this do that we're
gonna you know click here everyone on
Facebook all right
and you're gonna go ahead and create
your audience now as you can see there's
a 150 million to 200 million people in
the United States okay
55 percent are women 45% are men so
you're gonna want to have to put you
know like let's just say you are I don't
know you're doing a weight loss campaign
or something okay
so you just want to target people in the
United States maybe you want to target
people in Canada you can do that as well
and as you see it adds 200 to 250
million people so a little bit more
people now you're gonna want to create
an age range so if you're selling a
weight-loss product maybe it's a
supplement or a training program right
you can you know figure out who your
customer who are your ideal customer is
if you don't know the age range that
your customer is going to be in you know
then you can put 18 to 65 if you'd like
but if you know that okay my customer is
gonna be someone who maybe they're a
stay-at-home mom right or maybe they are
a young you
a young person maybe 18 to 24 year old
right and they're into bodybuilding but
whatever it is if it's you know let's
just say it's a stay-at-home mom you're
gonna switch the age range right to
maybe maybe 25 to 34 okay our 25 to 45
right and as you see as I'm creating
this audience
okay I'm gay I'm giving Facebook data to
work with because you have to define who
you're selling to like who is going to
buy your product or service well give
Facebook at least some data to work with
so that they can go ahead and build your
audience for you and out of those people
90 to 100 million people are you know in
these countries between that age range
now maybe we want to target women only
alright that narrows it down to 45
million and I'd like to get this range
anywhere to you know 1 to 15 million
somewhere in that range
so you can put interest you could put
you know maybe weight loss right weight
loss and perfect 10 to 15 million people
perfect I'm going to leave it at that
okay if you want to get you know more
advanced you could do that you can click
down here relationship status may be put
in married ok first stay-at-home moms 5
to 6 million people and then what you're
gonna want to do is go ahead and save
this audience so there's a button right
up here above my cursor that said save I
know it's cut off right now but you can
press save or you can directly start to
create an ad okay so those are the two
ways to give Facebook data you either
have an email list or you have to build
an audience in Facebook okay
now you're probably gonna get faster
results if you have an email list
because Facebook can pull data even
faster but you know you can spend a few
hundred dollars and get quick results
you know with an audience just like this
okay so that is the first step all right
we have to give Facebook data define our
audience all right so now that we've
done that okay you've opened your ads
manager if you haven't you know if you
don't know how to do all that I have
other videos on my chain
have a full playlist I'll actually link
above right up above right now that you
can watch okay but I'm not gonna get to
you know into the nitty-gritty of like
how to set up a Facebook ad manager that
kind of stuff cuz that's more of the
basics okay so once we've given Facebook
enough data to work with
okay with one of the two strategies
maybe an email list in an audience we
created or both you can use both right
now okay we want to spy on competitors
we want to do our market research so
many people neglect this part all right
you cannot run a Facebook ad profitably
without knowing what works alright and
this is why I like to spy on competitors
when I am doing my campaigns because I
want to see what is working if a
competitor is spending you know maybe
the the ad that they are running maybe
it's a video ad and it has millions of
views I know that that video is working
that person is spending more and more
money on that video because it's working
okay people that are making money and
profitably running Facebook ads are not
going to continue spending money on
Facebook ads unless they're profitable
so that you know that if you know that
post or that ad has tons of views tons
of engagement whatever it may be they're
making money with it so that creative
the video or image is probably working
so what I like to do is use spy tools
now I'm gonna reveal a spy tool this is
a newer spy tool that I've been using
now the first fight tool that I ever
used was ad espresso but this one is
called big spy okay so big spy calm and
what I like to do is type in the niche
that I'm running ads in okay what is
your niche what type of product
physical maybe it's a digital product
maybe you're selling a service what
niche are you in weight loss right it
was the example that I was going over so
if I type in weight loss it's gonna pull
up all of these different weight loss
ads these are currently ads that are
you know doing well like look at this
one has a hundred and seventy five
comments four hundred seventy likes 136
shares you can tell that this ad right
here is doing very very well because
this person is still running paid
traffic to this with this ad with this
image okay so this is an interesting
image very catchy a little graphic but
it you know past Facebook's guidelines
so this would be an example of maybe
something that you take notes on maybe
it should be an image of a gut right
like you know being constricted by
something I don't know you know this it
could be in just an example of an ad
that's catchy whereas you know someone
posting just a picture with a girl with
an apple is not as you know it's not as
engaging okay it's not as engaging this
post or this ad hasn't performed as well
as this one so you can just go down the
list and you can see you know there's
very generic ones people just running
pictures of you know woman's face or
something like that but there's also one
like with a pregnant belly or something
like that you know so go go through
these ads and see which one kind of
pertains to your niche and which one is
getting results okay so this is just a
good tool to use to get an i running
because if you don't do your market
market research your your ad is it's
gonna be a lot tougher to be profitable
with your advertisement whether you're
doing selling something from your own
business or you're doing affiliate
marketing or whatever it may be okay so
that's just one spy tool that I love to
use and that works very well for me okay
so that is the second step all right
spy on competitors do your market
research now the last thing that I'm
gonna be going over is to set metrics
and have a good funnel okay so you have
to be able to set metrics when you're
scaling ad campaigns all right we're
gonna log into my we're gonna go back to
my ads manager and I'm just gonna show
you okay what I'm doing
with my campaigns okay and how I set my
metrics so let's just go ahead and you
know this is the date range that we're
through we're gonna click on purchase
all right we're gonna go to cost per
purchase and this is something that I
like to look at now I'm not looking at
return on adspend because my website
does not the pixel does not track
upsells and down sells so these are this
is completely inaccurate that's why I
should I probably shouldn't even have
this in here but cost per purchase is
what I look at so we want to run you
know ad sets campaigns that are getting
the lowest cost per purchase you know
the product that we're running is you
know it's fifty dollars and has multiple
upsells with an average cart value of
you know somewhere in the 70 to 80
dollar range so if I could get purchases
anywhere below the 70 to 80 dollar range
then I'm doing pretty well right because
I have I'm selling a product on the back
end as well so I know that if I could
break even on the front end
I'm profitable so this is something that
a lot of people don't do so when you're
first let's go ahead and you know go
into one of these ad sets we'll go to
let's just go to one I spent you know a
bit of money on we'll go to this one
okay actually we'll go to this one
alright so as you see I have tons of ad
sets I have over 40 ad sets in here that
I've tested okay now the reason why I'm
testing so many ad sets is because all
of these things all of these ad sets are
different audiences I'm targeting
different audiences I'm targeting
different types of interests that kind
of stuff different age ranges and I'm
seeing what is converting the best
alright so the first thing you want
you're gonna want to track is cost per
lead alright you want to be getting the
lowest cost per lead as possible so a
lead is an email someone that's eating
into your website and giving you an
email which is a tangible result right
that is something that you that is
valuable to you because then you could
follow up with that person well I want
to make sure that I'm getting emails for
you know as cheap as possible so and
wearing this two to five dollar range is
great right so that's the first thing I
track when I first launched my ad sets
okay the next thing I track is my
purchases so once I start getting once I
get one purchase that is gonna be the
metric that I go off of not cost per
lead because I run for cost per lead
until I get my first purchase okay and
I'm running all these campaigns of these
ad sets for purchase conversion so what
I do is for the first you know maybe
thirty dollars that I spent or twenty
dollars that I spent on each ad set I'll
see how many leads I get and if I get
one purchase that ad set will be my
metric okay so for instance you can see
that you know if we scroll down let's go
to the results let's click up on this as
you can see you know I got eight
purchases with this specific ad set so
this is going to be my metric if these
ad sets right here can't beat this
metric with eight purchases
I'm getting my cost per lead as three
dollars thirty-five cents right cost per
purchase has really low 37 dollars I'm
gonna turn these ad sets off and that's
exactly what I did okay I kept you know
I kept some of these running maybe my
top three I kept these running but this
one I shut off this one I shut off and
you know these ones I shut off as you
can see because the cost per purchase
was very high okay and the cost per lead
was also high compared to my winning ad
set okay and now when you do have a
winning ad set that's when you have to
scale the ad set in you know raise your
budgets duplicate your ad set that kind
of stuff alright but once you have
metrics okay once you have metrics that
you're going off of you have to have a
funnel that actually works okay you have
to have a good funnel because you could
be sending the most traffic that you
want to your website okay you could be
getting maybe you're getting dollar
leads right and zero purchases the
reason that is is because you don't have
a funnel that converts now I have a
funnel that converts okay this is going
to be the first link

funnel converts at you know four point
six eight percent sometimes a little
higher sometimes slightly lower but on
average about four point six eight
percent so I know that have every
hundred people I send to this funnel I
am going to get four sales okay four to
five sales and if I could get you know
one hundred people to this funnel for
one hundred dollars and I got five sales
all right and each sale is you know
generating sixty dollars I'm making a
great ROI I'm making a great return on
investment and I'm able to do this on a
consistent basis by running Facebook Ads
