how's it going today guys hope you're
having a fantastic day I am very excited
about this video I've been getting a lot
of people asking me particularly because
of the videos I posted about my business
model people have been asking me how do
you create an online course how do you
create a membership site how do you have
a successful online course and it's
something I'm very interested in and I
really enjoy talking about this stuff
and so I'm hoping you guys are looking
for this type of content and what I'm
gonna be showing you today is basically
how I created my online course I use a
platform called teachable I'm gonna show
you guys the back end I'm gonna show you
guys the numbers on my courses and my
membership site as far as how much money
I'm making from each one of these and I
am expecting this to be a longer video
than my normal ones here guys but I know
that it's gonna be very useful for you
if you're looking to do what I'm doing
here or just kind of find out more about
it but I'm gonna keep it as concise as
possible aside from this opening
introduction here so I'm not going to be
wasting your time here with this video
what I have planned first here is I
think it's about five or six slides here
just kind of giving you guys a
background on why you might want to
consider creating an online course if
you have a business online or this
interest you at all but if you already
know why you want an online course you
understand the beauty of this business
model I'm going to include a time stamp
or you can skip ahead to the actual
tutorial showing you guys how I built my
course in teachable so feel free to skip
ahead if you already know the basics of
this introduction but if not we're gonna
get into that now so first of all why
should you think about creating an
online course or an online membership
site the number one reason for me was
income diversification and the main
reason is because my income was
fluctuating all over the place so I quit
my job about a year ago now I think
we're about ten months in ten or eleven
months in here doing YouTube full-time
and so what I found was that some months
I had really good months where I made a
ton of money in other months I was like
oh my gosh I might have to go out there
and get a job I'm not making it nearly
enough as I should be and so what I
found was I had a lot of fluctuation
with my income you know maybe one month
I'd make ten thousand dollars the next
month I'd make three thousand dollars
and so I needed to have more income
sources to offset each other if one
the other ones too
money from as well so basically all of
us for me was this need for income type
reciprocation and it's no secret but the
average millionaire has seven sources of
income and so this can be a way for you
to add an income source to your existing
business or create a brand new income
source for yourself and so everyone out
there should have this idea of having
multiple income sources that are going
to help offset each other if there's
gonna be any dip and just diversify
yourself across multiple income streams
that way if one of them dries up you
have other ones out there to offset you
but anyway here are my income sources
related to my online business source
number one is my youtube ad revenue and
that fluctuates plus or minus 40 percent
based on the views I'm getting based on
how many videos I'm putting out that
month based on what advertisers are
paying as far as the ads go and so
imagine if you had a 40 percent
fluctuation in your income if you went
to work and one week you made a thousand
dollars and then the next week you made
six hundred dollars you know if you had
40 percent fluctuations there that
wouldn't be very good and so that's what
I was experiencing when I was primarily
relying on the YouTube ad revenue and so
that's why I said okay I got to
diversify my income streams here so then
I created my stock market investing
course back in August I spent like two
or three months creating that course and
so now I still solve that course I don't
do any marketing for it I used to do
Facebook ads used to mention it in my
videos and I don't do any of that
anymore and so I sell about 1,000 to
12,000 dollars worth of that course per
month and that's based on the month that
I launched it was a really good month
and I think September October November
were very strong months for that course
when I was really pushing it and
marketing it and I think December was my
best month I think I did $12,000 or so
in sales of that course in that month
and I'm going to show you guys my exact
numbers here in a little bit just so you
know I'm not blowing smoke here just so
I'll show you how much I've actually
made off this course but right now I
don't really market that course any of
more so just from people stumbling upon
it I do you know about a 1 to 2 thousand
dollars a month from that course and
then my newest income source is the
stock radar membership site that I
launched back in February and what I
like about the membership site is that's
a very appealing model for my income
because it's recurring and I have an
idea of how much it's going to be every
single month because I have a certain
price from
mber ship I have a certain number of
members I have a churn rate as far as
how many people are gonna be
unsubscribing or cancelling and so I
have an idea of how much money I'm gonna
make from that actual membership site
and then I have my Amazon affiliate
links that's not a very large source of
income I make about 100 to 500 bucks a
month from that and then coming soon I'm
gonna be doing a little bit of
one-on-one coaching it's mostly gonna be
this kind of stuff I really enjoy
talking to people about their online
businesses how to create an income
stream for yourself how to create
passive income this is an area I'm very
interested in and I've been getting
bombarded with emails and questions and
stuff from people so I'm gonna be doing
some one-on-one coaching soon it's gonna
be paid coaching but more details will
to follow on that I'm not quite ready to
announce anything on that yet as far as
the pricing or when it's gonna be but
sometime in May you'll get you sure more
about that as far as what I'm going to
be doing but anyways that is my income
sources and so that was the number one
reason for me to create this course and
then my membership site was for income
diversification now the second reason
why I decided to create an online course
is because the business model is like
nothing else out there I mean this is a
business model where you have all of
these factors okay first of all you can
work anywhere with an internet
connection that was one of the main
priorities for me when I was trying to
figure out what I was gonna do to make
money online well when I was trying to
figure out how to make money aside from
working a nine-to-five job I said okay
the number one thing is I gotta be able
to work from anywhere in the world if I
want to go work from Florida go to
Florida in the winter which I did back
in January I spent a week in Florida and
ran my business from my laptop and so
that was the number one thing for me is
I want to be able to work anywhere in
the world with an internet connection I
don't want to be tied down to a desk or
a set schedule if I want to take a
Monday off and then I want to work on a
Saturday I want to have the ability to
do that or if I want to you know work
from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. for some reason I
want to have the ability to do that
second of all you have exactly zero
dollars in inventory this is a business
where you have no inventory I don't have
a warehouse full of online courses that
I'm paying rent and I don't have
inventory I'm holding on to
I have zero dollars in inventory once I
create that course I can sell a million
copies or I could sell zero copies and
it's not going to matter because there's
no inventory third your profit margin is
100 percent on any organic traffic so
the organic sales of my coercion of my
membership site that's a 100 percent
profit margin because there's no
inventory there's no overhead and the
only time I'm going to have expenses
associated with this business are if I
decide to pay for advertising now yes I
do have some costs as far as on what I'm
paying for my course hosting web site
teachable what I pay for MailChimp but
those are very small costs in so that's
not really something I factor in if you
wanted to you could sit down and figure
out exactly what you're spending on your
website hosting and things like that and
then divide it out and figure okay maybe
you have a 98% profit margin but I'm
just gonna consider it to be a hundred
percent and those are just my regular
business expenses that you're gonna have
with any business out there but so if
you want to have more people signing up
for your course you can run ads and then
figure out what your profit margin is
based on your ad spend and what you're
getting in course sales but on your
organic traffic it's 100% profit margin
fourth of all refunds are very simple if
you have a business where you actually
sell stuff you're gonna have people
mailing stuff back to you you're gonna
be paying for shipping and the logistics
are gonna be kind of a pain but with any
kind of online digital course refunds or
a click of a button if you have somebody
contact you and they say hey you know
I'm just not satisfied or this just
wasn't for me all you have to do is
reply to their email and say ok so no
problem and then you jump over to
teachable or whatever your platform is
and you just send them a refund and it's
as simple as that you are gonna have
refunds with your online business here
as far as selling digital products below
20% is good mine's around 10% on my
course and about 10% on my membership
site which is just gonna be normal and
it's a natural part of this as some
people are gonna join and say you know
what this just isn't what I was looking
for in the fifth and final reason why I
like this business model is because you
are making money helping people you're
an expert at a certain topic and you're
gonna be sharing your expertise doing
something you love sharing something
you're passionate about and in return
you're making good money and so that is
why I decided on this business model and
why I decided to create my online course
and my membership site okay so now I'm
going to show you guys my secret
business model and the secrets in
quotation there because there's no
secret out there about what I'm doing
and a lot of people who are in a
position where they're making money
online they're making passive income
online or or any kind of money online
there's they make it out like they have
the secret sauce or they they stumbled
upon something that nobody had
discovered before I'll be the first to
tell you guys I did not stumble across
this I did not create this I just
modeled off somebody else and went out
there I looked at other people who were
doing what I was trying to do and I said
okay what are they doing okay they have
a bunch of content they're putting out
there then they have a resource and they
have an email list and then they're
using tracking pixels I pretty much just
reversed went through their system and
figured out okay what exactly are they
doing and then I modeled my exact
business model off of that and I'm gonna
walk you guys through this now and if
you want to make it more complicated you
absolutely can but this is all I'm doing
right here to be making you know over
ten thousand dollars a month from my
online business this is gonna be a great
month for me I should do about twenty
five thousand this month my best month
ever so this is all I'm doing is this
all right first of all you're gonna get
free traffic and you're gonna get paid
traffic you may not want to do the paid
traffic but if you want to increase the
output from this then you could pay for
some Facebook advertising and get paid
traffic as well but what you're gonna be
doing is creating valuable content maybe
it's a blog maybe it's a podcast maybe
it's a YouTube channel and then you're
going to be getting organic traffic from
search results and just building a brand
and building a name for yourself and
again if you want to amplify this you
can pay for some paid traffic to spread
the awareness about your new thing
whatever it's going to be if it's your
YouTube channel or your podcast whatever
it might be then what you're going to do
is you're going to basically be the
expert in that certain topic post a lot
of videos answer a lot of questions
people have and become the authority on
that topic but you're going to be
offering them something for free for me
it's a free course on investing in the
stock market called how to find a great
investment it's hosted on teachable and
so in every single video I mention hey
if you guys want to learn more about
investing in the stock market check out
my free course on how to find a great
investment and so I get about 70 people
a day I think 40 to 70 depending on how
many views I get people go through my
course forty to seventy leads a day from
that and what happens is when people
sign up for that course for free I get
their email
and then the email is moved over to
MailChimp and then I can send marketing
emails to them and I do that very
lightly I send maybe one or two emails a
week but I also do have a sequence set
up so when somebody joins my list they
are sent a series of seven or eight
different emails kind of warming them up
introducing them to myself all of this
stuff is stuff I can show you guys I
mean really what I'm trying to figure
out here is what are you interested in I
really enjoy talking about these
subjects and so what I want you guys to
do now for me is if you have any
specific questions about my business
creating online courses email marketing
Facebook Ads drop them in the comment
section below and if you see somebody
who has the same question as you drop a
thumbs up on their comment and that way
I know what you guys are looking to get
out of this and I will do my best to
provide that information but anyways
that is what I'm doing I offer that free
course I get the email from them if they
enroll but if they don't I also have
what's called a tracking pixel on the
header of all of my course pages and so
when somebody visits any of my course
pages if they have a Facebook profile
then they are added to that Facebook
audience and then I can run ads
specifically to them so when I go out
there and when I run my Facebook ads
what I'm doing is retargeting I have my
custom audience with my Facebook pixel
so anyone who visits my course page
they're gonna see those ads so I'm not
just wasting my time here running ads to
people who may or may not be interested
these are people who have already
visited the sales page from one of my
courses who at least have some interest
in what I have the offer so that's what
I do that's my lead magnet it's my free
course and as a result I get some emails
and I get that custom audience being
built on Facebook and then from there I
sell my products I sell my membership
site and previously I sold my stock
market investing course and so any sales
you're gonna get from your email list
well those are free because you
basically have gotten that email by
providing that resource and so if you
send out an email and you announce
something or you mention your membership
site and you get people to join well
then all that is free that's 100 percent
profit on those leads because you didn't
pay for them and then if you want to pay
for some advertising you can run some
Facebook ads which is what I do and you
know you throw a couple hundred bucks or
maybe a thousand dollars at some
Facebook ads and you do an advertising
campaign with your warm retargeting
audience and you get some sales that way
and that's it guys that is my business
model that is what I do and so yeah you
can definitely make it more complicated
if you want to you can add more elements
to this but if you want to keep it
simple this is all I am doing to make
the money that I make so what do you
need in order to do this first of all
you need expertise in a certain area if
you're watching this video and you're
thinking about making an online course
I'm assuming you already have an idea of
what you're gonna make the course on and
you know what you're passionate about
and you know what you're interested in
and so that's the first thing you have
to be an expert in a certain area and
you have to be willing to share your
knowledge with the world
second of all you're gonna need traffic
you can rely on organic traffic or you
can invest some of your money and get
paid traffic and that's gonna be how
you're gonna get traffic to both your
content and eventually whatever it is
that you're selling third of all you're
going to need a warm audience and that
is created by just doing what you're
gonna do by doing your podcast or
posting your blog so we're posting your
videos and adding value first and adding
a tremendous amount of value and really
becoming the expert in the authority in
your niche fourth you're gonna need your
course material that's gonna take a
while it for me it took like two or
three months to actually build my stock
market investing course it's like a 12
hour course and so I had to build all
the slides I had to outline everything
and again if you guys want more
information or like videos on how I
actually did that I'll be more than
happy to show you that so you need your
course material fifth of all you need
your course hosting so where is this
course going to live where the video is
going to be hosted how are people going
to log in how are people going to access
your course and pay you and then sixth
of all you're going to need your payment
processing whether this is through
PayPal or what I use is stripe and so
even especially with a membership site
you're gonna have to be billing people
every single month and so you're gonna
have to figure out how to do that and
you're also going to have to worry about
okay so maybe you bill somebody and the
payment doesn't go through then you have
to cancel that membership and so it can
become a bit of a mess if you don't have
the right tools on the back end but this
is where I'm gonna start showing you
guys what I use it's a site called
teachable and when I was going to start
building my online course I spent a long
time looking at the different options
there I looked at udemy I looked at
click funnels I looked at teachable and
a few other obscure names just because I
knew that I wanted to learn
one of these and I didn't want to have
to get all the way in build a course in
one of these and find out oh I picked
the wrong one and then have to convert
everyone or learn a new platform so
after all the research I did I found
that teachable had the best tools at the
best price and the platform is just very
user friendly and so that's what I'm
gonna be showing you guys is how I built
my course in teachable so next we're
gonna be actually going in I'm gonna
show you guys how to build a course in
teachable but the last thing I want to
cover here is how much does it cost just
in case you guys are interested or
wondering what you're gonna have to pay
per month and it's all based on the
volume of the course sales that you're
going to have so first of all there's a
free plan if you don't want to pay
anything you can join for free but
understand you're going to have to pay
$1 plus 10% of the sale on your paid
courses so for example let's say you
sold your course for $97 every time you
sell a course you're gonna have to give
teachable nine dollars and 70 cents plus
$1 and so what it comes down to is the
volume so once you have a high enough
volume of course sales you're gonna want
to upgrade your plan just because you're
not going to want to be paying teachable
that pick up percentage Commission if
it's more cost effective to pay for a
monthly membership but you can build an
entire course on the free plan and just
pay them a commission if you just want
to test it out and see how it works or
at the very least just get your course
built and then down the road when you're
going to launch it you might decide to
upgrade to one of the paid plans that
way you're not paying the transaction
fees for the paid courses so second of
all if you want to do the basic plan
it's going to be less in Commission as
far as the paid courses you're just
going to be giving them 5% and then the
other thing is the processing fee if
you're using the teachable payout
they're gonna be charging you 30 cents
plus 2.9 percent on all of your
transactions and that's just for the
transactions and the processing of the
payments now the other thing you're
gonna have to notice here and this is
why I actually decided to go for the
professional plan for two reasons first
of all on the professional plan for 99
bucks a month it's a zero percent
commission on paid courses and it is
instant payouts I wanted my money every
single day that is what I love about
this is Monday through Friday every
single day I have money being directly
deposited into my bank account based on
my membership recurring sales and new
sales of my membership in my course
that is why I like the professional plan
and on the free plan and the basic plan
you're gonna get monthly payouts I think
they do that right through PayPal and so
let's say for example you were selling
your course and you had $500 in course
sales well you're gonna have a monthly
payout at the end of that month after
they are no longer eligible for a refund
all right guys so now I'm going to be
showing you how to create a course with
teachable I'm gonna show you my numbers
as far as my core sales and how much I'm
making from this but the first thing I
want to show you guys is down in the

you guys can sign up for this free
training they do I think they do once or
twice a week here they do a webinar
talking about teachable and how to
launch your own profitable online course
and my favorite part about this I
actually attended this webinar before I
decided on teachable is you can actually
ask them questions live during this

but anyways this is the main home page
when you log into teachable and what I
get to see first is my revenue from my
courses on the right-hand side there
that's my live feed as far as people who
are logging in or people who are signing
up and I constantly have people signing
up for my free course they're how to
find a great investment and keep in mind
as I said every time somebody enrolls in
that course I'm collecting their emails
through the integration that they have
and it gets added to my MailChimp email
list and then I'm able to send them
emails and then they're automatically
being added to my email sequence where
they're going to receive about seven or
eight warm-up emails about me to kind of
introduce myself and establish that
relationship but so first of all the
question you might have how much money
am I making from my online courses so
first of all what I like about this is I
make money every single day here so
every single day I'm making money based
on when people signed up for my
membership site stock radar so I've had
people sign up on different days and so
I make a certain amount of money every
single day of the month and so
you can see here 188 bucks and April
19th 357 here 599 381 129 165 so this is
all that recurring revenue coming in
from stock radar but if you look at the
money I've made monthly from the
beginning let's just go ahead and walk
through it so the very first month when
I launched my course I made about $7,000
the following month I made two thousand
three hundred seventy eight and that was
because I was offering my course for an
introductory price of $14 for the first
month and so it was not a lot of money
that month it was going to be a lot of
money the following month November was
my best month it wasn't December I had
that backwards November I did twelve
thousand one hundred sixteen dollars and
this was before I even offered stock
radar this was just off of my basic
investing course that I had put together
December we did eight thousand seven
hundred eight and then in January that's
when things kind of slowed down less
people were being interested in my
course I wasn't promoting it as much and
then February is when I launched attack
radar we did 63 27 that month March we
did 60 505 and we're only at the 24th of
April right now and so I'm still gonna
be having that recurring revenue come in
from stock radar and so for the month so
far we're just at 43 71 but that should
be about 6500 by the end of this month
once I get all those recurring sales
from stock radar but like I said guys
the most appealing part of this is that
I have money coming into my account
every single day a hundred bucks here
and there some days it's 500 just based
on how many people signed up and again
this is part of that professional plan
where you're gonna get instant payouts
and Monday through Friday you have money
coming into your bank account you don't
have to wait two weeks or every month
for a paycheck every single day you have
your money coming in so that's the main
home page here with teachable it'll tell
you what your revenue was today what
your earnings are number of course sales
signups
active students what not lecture
completions anything you're looking for
there and then the same thing is
replicated over here on the right with
your month so this month alone I've had
260 sales of my course most of that
probably a stock radar 1038 new signups
and that could be people signing up for
my free course 1389 or 1381 active
students over 3500 lecture completions
and 80 course completions and a lot of
that again is probably
from my free course but anyways now I'm
gonna move over to the page here and
