back with another Rory rant and today's
topic is going to be the turning point
for me of when I decided to go full-time
with entrepreneurship because I know a
lot of you are probably in this place
where either you're you're already a
full time entrepreneur or you're in this
place to where you don't know if you
should take it full-time yet or even
even if you have enough you know value
and skillsets to be able to offer to the
world and I kind of want to give you my
story and my background about when I
decided okay like there's I have a lot
of value I have skill set so that I can
offer to the world and get paid for it
at the same time and hopefully that will
help you know kickstart you into
entrepreneurship or you know building an
online business or whatever it may be
wherever you are at in your stage of
beginning or you're just trying to
figure it out and you're young maybe
you're in college maybe you're you know
in high school I don't know maybe you're
have a full-time job but you want to go
full-time with entrepreneurship
hopefully my story can help kick-start
you into your path and basically what I
was doing at the time was I was working
at an investment bank okay so I was you
know shadowing I was an associate for a
financial advisor a wealth manager and
that's what I wanted to do okay I wanted
to manage hundreds of millions of
dollars the financial advisor that I was
working for managed you know just just
under a hundred million dollars so
pretty big portfolio and I wanted to do
that okay I wanted to learn the secret I
wanted to know you know the Rasika
recipe to become successful and have a
bit
of my own and you know being a financial
adviser you're bait you're basically you
know your own business but under the
umbrella of whatever bank you work for
okay so that's kind of the lifestyle I
wanted to live the financial advisers
that I was basically shadowing and in
working with or managing hundreds of
millions of dollars you know basically
having a life of freedom they get to
work whenever they choose you know
they're awesome salespeople and I wanted
to know what was the secret to you know
getting there I thought it had you had
to put in you know five to ten years of
hard work meaning basically eating
and and you know getting paid at a
minimum level maybe thirty to fifty
thousand a year at best because that's
what you know the current system is is
built like you get a degree you go to
college you you know maybe get in
college debt if you're lucky you don't
you graduate without college debt and
you get a job that you work maybe five
years in the beginning to build your
book or build your work of business and
and then start making good amounts of
money maybe six figures if you're lucky
after five years but I wanted the
fast-track I you know I saw all these
people online kind of in the fast track
to success and and you know be knowing
me I just was really impatient I was
impatient and I wanted it right away so
I did whatever it took I took courses
online you know obviously I was learning
how to manage portfolios for older
people meaning they can't tolerate you
know as much risk so I was looking at
you know doing analysis on companies
that pay dividends companies with low
p/e ratios pretty much safer investments
in the stock market that provided
consistent
turns of maybe five to eight percent per
year okay
so as I was learning that I was also
taking courses on how to trade options
how to trade stocks and I was developing
my skill sets in that world because that
doesn't apply to wealth management and
every financial adviser I talked to
basically didn't really know how to
trade options or anything like that so I
knew that okay
I'm learning something here I'm learning
how to create wealth and you know these
people that I look up to don't even know
what I'm doing so that's kind of what I
had interest in and you're probably
learning things that they don't teach in
school right I mean they don't need they
don't even teach what stocks are in
school but they you know you're probably
learning about something that they don't
teach in school maybe how to create an
online business how to run Facebook
advertising and at the time I was
learning all of that I was learning all
the things that they don't teach in
school while simultaneously learning the
corporate side of wealth management and
learning skill sets like sales okay and
then this there was one point in time I
remember the day I'll never forget it
and this is when I decided okay I'm
gonna become I'm taking entrepreneurship
full time because I believe in the
values in the skillsets that I have to
offer the world okay and this point in
time which you will have you will have
this point in time and to be able to get
there quicker you need to build your
skill set start learning things that
most people don't know like how to run
for
book ads how to build an online business
maybe Shopify or amazon drop shipping
learn how to invest in the stock market
learn how to invest in crypto currencies
learn all these things that they don't
teach in school and you will be you will
have value that you can offer okay
because you not only know how to make
money yourself and create wealth out of
nothing but you can also teach people
how to do it as well because people want
to learn so the turning point for me was
one day I you know I went to this
financial advisor in the office and you
know he was a big dog he he managed you
know a couple hundred million dollars
maybe I think it was like two hundred
twenty five million dollars in his
portfolio so he's making you know one to
two percent of that every single year
consistently and I was like how do you
how do you build a portfolio like that
how do you get two hundred dollars worth
of assets in your portfolio how do you
go out there and get that money and how
do you manage it to be able to get these
kinds of returns for your investors and
he said he told me this is what he told
me and I don't have anything against
this it's just it made me realize what
the industry was that I was getting into
and he said in this past month I don't
know what the market has done okay I'm a
salesperson I go out there and I sell my
services I sell wealth management to all
my clients and that's how I get the
money that's how I get to build the
portfolio and I said wait you don't know
what happened in the last month of the
market I mean for me being an options
trader and a day trader and doing all
these types of trades you know and
wealth management I was managing my
parents retirement fund and doing all
these things that most kids my age
weren't doing
I was like how do you not know what the
market has done in the past month I I
tracked the market every single day you
know I was looking I look at the futures
every night to see what the markets
gonna open up like I'm doing analysis on
thousands of different companies to try
to find the best trade best investment
and this guy didn't even know what the
market is done in the past month that's
what he told me and that made me realize
okay I'm not in the business of I have
to choose okay what am I in the business
of I have the skillsets to manage wealth
myself but really the the money-making
opportunity is the sales side in wealth
management okay and that's how he
manages hundreds of millions of dollars
he sells his service right and then he
gets he gets a team that he you know
doesn't make as much as him maybe some
younger analysis type of workers you
know some portfolio analysis type of
people who went to school for that and
he pays them maybe 50 60 grand to do the
analysis for him he's he was in charge
of sales right he's in charge of getting
the assets and then he delegates to his
team to do the portfolio analysis and
the wealth management right so that just
blew my mind I was like wow so these
financial advisors are basically CEOs of
their own portfolio a wealth management
right so
the real money-making opportunity the
real moneymakers the billionaires of the
world Warren Buffett's you know Bill
Gates a Jeff Bezos all those guys
they're not doing I mean they know how
to do the technical stuff right they
know how to do the technical stuff
obviously that's where they probably
started out but to get to the level of
wealth that they're at they had to they
had to delegate tasks okay and that's
when I said you know what I'm getting
into entrepreneurship full-time based
off the skill sets that I currently know
I know that I can I was already teaching
people okay and I was charging for that
teaching them how to trade options
teaching them how to invest educating
right I was like I know how to do that
I'm learning social media marketing I
know how to run Facebook Ads effective
Facebook advertising campaigns I know
how to collect leads and build email
lists and generate leads and sales I can
do this on my own all right I can I
don't need school I don't need someone
to tell me that you have to work hard
for you know four to five years before
you even make any money I don't need any
of that okay I knew that no I have
enough value right now to be able to
start my own business and sell market
effectively and build a team that can
help me whether I outsource my work to
end
contractors on up work or fiber or you
know I hire employees okay and a patent
assistant in the past that helped me do
a lot of my work with my social media
marketing agency so the moral of the
story is you need to analyze where
you're at in life and say ask yourself
are the things that I know currently
right now do my friends know exactly
what I do like do my friends know
exactly the skill sets that I know are
they able to implement that do the
people around me my peers people my age
do they know how to do the things I know
how to do if the answer is no to that
you have value you have a skill set okay
you need to believe in yourself because
you have a skill set that other people
will pay you to learn right other people
will pay you to learn because they want
to do it themselves and build a business
themselves so if you have a skill set
that you've developed and I'm and I
highly recommend taking courses outside
of the public education system because
the public education system is going to
line you up okay in the business world
I'm not talking about doctor becoming a
doctor or lawyer because you need school
for that but for the business world it's
not going to line you up to be a
business owner universities are gonna
line you up to be a business worker okay
to be another cog in the wheel and if
you choose to do that that's totally
fine if you want to just you know go to
your corporate job make 60 grand and
just enjoy the weekend and enjoy time
with your family and that's what you
want to do totally fine but my channel
you know is based off entrepreneurship
so that's just what I'm sharing my
experience on entrepreneurship and if
you're currently in school just know
that you don't need school to be able to
build a six-figure a seven-figure eight
figure business you just need the skill
set and once you have those skill sets
you need to have the belief in yourself
to execute on that and say you know what
I'm gonna take this full-time I'm gonna
take the risk and sell write learn how
to sell sell my value and my skill set
to the world whether it be running
Facebook Ads to your business whether it
be collecting leads whether it be
educating people and teaching people
what you do okay that's how you're gonna
build long term wealth and that's kind
of where I just wanted to share my
epiphany that light bulb story of mine
that really made me realize okay I'm
going full-time with entrepreneurship it
was that one conversation with a
financial advisor that I asked you know
how did you become so successful and
what do you do on a day to day basis and
he says I don't manage money
I sell okay and that made me realize
okay cool cool my skill set I have I
have great skill sets then and I know I
can sell my skill sets and create
something you know bigger than myself to
help the world
so hopefully that this video helped
inspire you hopefully it inspires you to
get closer to that that epiphany point
of where you can take entrepreneurship
full time you can build a full-time
