this is Ryan Hildreth and in this video
that I followed to make my first million
selling online courses so let's go ahead
and dive into it with the intro so the
first principle that you need to follow
when selling an online course is
identifying the pain point of your
client okay you're here to solve a
problem and that's what you're doing
with your online course you're providing
a solution to that problem so I want you
to think back to the skill set that
you're going to teach and think about
some of the pain points that you went
through when learning that skill set in
mind you you don't have to be the best
person at this skill set okay to teach
it that's a number one misconception a
lot of people have been asking me well
Ryan you know I don't feel worthy enough
to sell in the online course because I'm
not the best at my skill set well look
at me am I the best at social media
marketing or affiliate marketing heck no
I'm not the best but I have learned
enough to be able to get results for
myself and I could get results for other
people so as long as you have a base
level of understanding of your skill set
and you're able to get some results then
it shouldn't be a problem selling a
course and providing value to others and
help them get on your level right so I
want you to look back at the pain points
that you went through when learning your
skill set okay that's a huge one for me
once with social media marketing my
biggest pain point was I don't want to
work a nine-to-five and I want to learn
something that I can go out and you know
get people to pay me for without a
college degree and that was social media
marketing and affiliate marketing right
so that was my pain point money right so
I want you to think about that most pain
points for people is either money
happiness or relationships right having
you know better relationships more a
better sex life stuff like that
if you could hit on one of those pain
points happiness money or you know
increasing relationships for someone
then that's gonna be better right so I
want you to think about the pain points
that you can kind of relate with your
target clientele right your target
audience and then principle number two
is go find go build an email list of you
know your MVP clients your most valuable
clients write your MVC's so go find
those clients you know whether it's on
your social media you could do this for
free you could generate free traffic
through YouTube or Instagram or Facebook
groups that's a great way to get started
because then once you build that little
email list you have some data to work
with you see you know what aim for it
age range are the people on your list
you can talk with that list what are
their pain points and then number three
principle number three is scale and
automate okay so number one you had done
identified some pain points number two
you went ahead and found people that
would be interested in learning from you
and you got them on your email list
let's just say you built an email list
of a hundred people now you could take
that email list and upload it into your
Facebook Ads manager right and that
gives the pixel some data to work with
so now you could run ads to your course
or to a webinar that is you know
building on building trust with a cold
audience and you're able to sell your
courses on autopilot okay
so those are the three principles I want
you to go back and think about that what
is the skill set that you can teach
today right what is a skill set that
took you maybe six months to five years
to learn right it could be anything from
making money online social media
marketing affiliate marketing amazon
drop shipping those are just a few
or maybe you're good at you know dating
and relationships or maybe you're good
at financial planning or maybe you're
good at soccer or baseball right it
could be anything you could teach
anything right in your course then I
want you to go out and find some people
that are willing to learn
you on your social media you know just
through outreach you could send DMS to
people I used to send video DMS to
people saying hey go watch my free
content on YouTube on to learn how to
invest in the stock market which was the
very first course that I released so you
could go ahead and do that and then once
you build that email list upload it into
Facebook your ads manager create a
look-alike audience and now you're able
to target people that look just like the
people who join your list okay now those
are those are some like key principles
and secrets that you can use for
launching a six-figure online course now
