HOW TO STORE LITECOIN + OTHER CRYPTOS ON A LEDGER NANO S (Hardware Wallet)

what's going on you guys so I just
recently did a video showing you how to
set up a Leger nano s cryptocurrency
hardware wallet and I had a few people
ask some questions so I kind of wanted
to clear some things up and also show
you guys how to add other
cryptocurrencies to this wallet because
a lot of people are under the
misconception that the only coins they
can store on this wallet are Bitcoin or
aetherium those are the coins you can
store by default but you can actually
store dozens of different
cryptocurrencies on a hardware wallet
you just have to add the applications
themselves now litecoin is a very
popular one and it's one that I added to
my wallet as well so I'm gonna walk you
guys through the process of adding the
litecoin application to your ledger
nan-oh s cryptocurrency wallet now there
were a few questions I had from people
first of all the main one was what
happens if you lose your wallet itself
so if you put all of your
cryptocurrencies on this Hardware wallet
and then next thing you know you lose it
or someone steals it are you going to
lose your bitcoins or your
cryptocurrencies the answer is no as
long as you retain your recovery phrase
and keep that in a safe place
the only way you could lose everything
is if you lost both the wallet itself
and the recovery phrase because the
recovery phrase would allow you to
basically buy a new Legend and essence
set it up as a previously existing
device and use your recovery phrase to
essentially Reax s your account now if
you lost both of these things then yes
you would be out of luck and you
would at that point lose everything you
had on that wallet but you just have to
you know have one or the other at that
point and again if you forgot your
password for the ledger nano s you would
need to use that recovery phrase in
order to get access to that device so
what I would recommend people would do
is maybe keep the ledger nano s
somewhere handy and then lock up that
recovery phrase in a safety deposit box
or if you have a post office box I mean
some people were really going extreme
they're like yeah but what if your house
burns down and you know you lose
everything well you know what at that
point maybe your cryptocurrencies are
the least of your concerns but if you're
that concerned about it then get a post
office box and store it there locked up
or you know give it to a friend who has
a fighter safe for something like that
but um as long as you have one or the
other and you still remember your
password for the wallet
then you would be able to get access to
your account and again if you guys do
not have a ledger nano s yet I do have a
link for this product in the description
below it is an Amazon affiliate link and
your use of that link does help me out
and support this channel now if you guys
did not watch my video going through how
to set up the ledger Nano s I will
linked it up at the end and I would
highly recommend watching that because
there are some important things to
remember especially because there are a
lot of third party people selling this
letter Nano s device so you do want to
make sure first of all it comes in a
sealed package and you may even want to
go so far as to take the device apart
just to make sure it has not been
tampered with but as long as it's coming
from a reputable seller in a sealed
package you should be okay but you just
want to make sure that you are setting
it up as a new device and there's no
existing password on there or that the
device did not come in an opened package
that would be definitely a red flag that
the device may have been tampered with
okay so the very first thing you guys
are going to need to do is install the
Bitcoin Chrome application on your
computer because you're actually going
to be accessing your litecoin wallet
through the Bitcoin Chrome extension
itself and that is this right here I
have a link for that in the description
it's the ledger wallet Bitcoin it's a
free Chrome extension and if you guys
want to see how to set that up I went
ahead and covered that in the previous
video about the ledger nanna less after
that you're going to want to install the
ledger manager this allows you to
install the applications for the
different cryptocurrencies onto your
ledger nan OS and the link for that is
in the description below now once you go
ahead and install that you're going to
have your ledger connected at this point
and you have to put in your PIN that way
you are connected to your computer and
then you're going to open the ledger
manager now at this point you're going
to see a list of different applications
as you can see there we have Bitcoin -
dogecoin aetherium etc and you're gonna
look for litecoin if that's what you're
looking to add because this is a late
coin tutorial but I'm going to show you
guys at the end all the different
cryptocurrencies that are supported by
the ledger nan-oh s at this point in
time so if you're looking to install
litecoin you're going to scroll down
until you see litecoin and then press
that green download button on the left
once you are all set with an
installation you can go ahead and close
the ledger manager and then go to your
ledger device and open up the litecoin
application itself now the neck
step is important as well you want to
disable the browser support setting of
the litecoin app so what you do is you
enter the litecoin application in the
ledger nano s you select settings you
select browser support and then you
scroll over and select no now as we said
before you are going to be accessing
your litecoin wallet through the Bitcoin
Chrome application so at this point you
are going to open the Chrome application
for Bitcoin while having the litecoin
application opened on the ledger nano s
and then once the wallet configures you
guys are all set and you can safely
store your litecoin on your ledger nano
s just to remember you do access this
through the chrome Bitcoin application
itself but you do have to use the
litecoin application on the ledger now
if you guys are looking to store any
other cryptocurrencies on your ledger
nano s this here is a list of all the
coins that are currently supported I'm
not going to read them out loud I will
in fact to link this in the description
though that way you guys can click on
this and get a list but I'll just scroll
through here I'll read a few of the the
main ones here obviously Bitcoin Bitcoin
cash aetherium - did you buy dogecoin H
cash like coin let's see here third coin
via coin XRP Ripple
yes so a lot of the main coins are now
supported the ledger devices and I'm
sure they're going to be adding more in
the future but a lot of people have this
concern that the only coins you could
store on the ledger nan-oh s for Bitcoin
and aetherium but those are just the
default applications and it's very
simple to add new applications to this
device so if you guys are on the fence
about purchasing a ledger and you have a
sizable amount of Bitcoin or any
cryptocurrency I would highly recommend
looking into a hardware wallet like The
Legend nos just for the peace of mind
and to keep your cryptocurrencies safe
and again I do have a link for the
ledger nano s in the description below
and also make sure you watch the setup
video I will link up at the end but
that's all I got for this video if you
enjoyed it please drop a like if you're
new to my channel please consider
subscribing to be notified of any future
uploads and as always I thank you for
taking the time to watch this video
