Profitable Instagram Ads In 2019 - Instagram Ads That Actually Convert

video I'm going to show you exactly how
to run profitable Instagram
advertisements in 2019
I'm going to show you exactly what to
say how to say it and who to target so

all right so we're on my computer right
now and if you want to run Instagram ads
the first thing you're gonna need to do
is open a Facebook Ads manager account
okay so you're basically using Facebook
to run Instagram ads and if you don't
have a ads manager account on Facebook
go ahead and go to WWF ace book comm
slash business and I'll take you to this
page right here where you can you know
read a little bit about it and then go
ahead and click this button and create
an ad and set up your ads manager okay
we're gonna log into my ads manager
right here okay and as you can see I
have some ads running okay and the first
thing I want you to pay attention to
when making an Instagram ad in order to
get it profitable is to focus on the
actual creative actual ad right most
times you see videos pop up in your
newsfeed or an image trying to sell you
something okay and there's a specific
way to make something right make a
creative that actually sells and I'm
gonna go over a few of those things okay
three simple things that you need to do
to put into your creative to make your
ad sell now the number one thing we have
to decide is do we want to run an image
ad or a video ad and if it's up to me I
would say both I would test out an image
and I would test out a video and see
which one performs better okay so
whatever you're promoting if it's a make
money online offer maybe you're selling
a digital course or consulting services
or fitness training or a physical
product whatever it may be I would
definitely have a video of that and then
I would have an image and then I would
run both of those just to test which one
has better traction okay next is should
we run an Instagram story ad or a
newsfeed ad right Instagram stories are
15-second videos filmed in vertical
format so most of the time I filmed
those on my phone 15 seconds so that I
can easily upload it into my Facebook
Ads manager now do I recommend running
Instagram story ads definitely those get
the lowest cost per lead okay so I get
emails from potential customers at a
very low cost with Instagram story ads
so that's what I'm going to show you how
to set up today
now I also run newsfeed ads because if a
potential customer sees my Instagram
story ad and then they're scrolling
through the newsfeed I also want to make
sure that I'm showing up there as well
so that they see me multiple times
because someone needs to see you at
least seven times before they remember
your name or your business's name okay
so I make sure to run newsfeed ads as
well as Instagram story ads so that I'm
getting the most potential reach even
though I notice that Instagram story ads
perform better for me okay so I run both
and now with the creative okay this is
the hardest part is coming up with the
content to put in your advertisement now
if you follow these three simple steps
you're gonna see that it's very easy to
create a good ad all you need is a hook
a story and an offer okay you need to
make sure that these three things are in
your ad so that you are communicating in
a way that your potential customer will
understand what it is you're selling
okay so I like to have a hook which
sparks curiosity
you can do this verbally you can do this
through imagery
I like to be you know film a video ad
somewhere in nature you know somewhere
outside outdoors with the sun shining
that kind of stuff those videos tend to
perform better than if you have a dark
video you know maybe it's inside you
know if it's inside your room and it's
dark I would definitely not film your ad
there I would definitely go outside with
your product or if you're selling your
consulting services go outside film it
outside and make sure that it's bright
and that people can see you clearly okay
so you can spark curiosity with a simple
question right like do you want to learn
how to build a profitable online
business right that is something that
sparks curiosity because there's people
out there that do want to build a
profitable online business so if you say
that in your ad that is going to
basically you know they're going to
answer yes to that
okay so spark curiosity number two have
a story relate to the pain point or
desire now I have an ad right here let
me see if I can pull this up sorry if
the audio doesn't play but I'm gonna
play it right now and I'll tell you
exactly what I say if the audio doesn't
play but I'm gonna play it right now you
can follow to build a successful
business if you swipe up you're gonna
get both from me a mentorship as well as
the system that helped me build an
empire okay so there was two things that
I are three things that I did there
right I have a hook I'm outside it's
sunny out I have my car behind me
obviously you don't need you know a nice
car or anything like that but I do
recommend having some type of bright
color so that it attracts someone to
look at it visually okay so that's the
reason I have the car there because it
attracts someone to look very quickly
like Oh what is that bright thing okay
and then I say this story right mother
my hook is basically there's two things
you need to be a successful online
entrepreneur okay so that is a hook
because it sparks curiosity well what
are those two things right they want me
to answer that question then I tell them
the story when I was becoming an online
entrepreneur in order to become
successful I had to get two things which
was a mentor right any system to become
successful at it and that is what I tell
them in the story and then I obviously
direct them to my offer which is the
last thing I want to tell you because if
you don't have an offer in your ad then
people aren't going to want to take an
action they're not going to know why
they need to be taking an action or
clicking on your ad or swiping up or
doing any of that okay so what I tell
them is exactly what they should do if
they want their pain to go away or if
they want their desire fulfilled right
and obviously this ad in particular was
fulfilling a desire of becoming a
successful online entrepreneur and if
they want that desire to be fulfilled
they have to swipe up to get my free
training okay so that is the value that
I offer
in my ad it's a free training no cost
right I'm not asking for any money in my
advertisement so that is also in angle
you can take when making your ad give
something of value for free okay it
could be information it could be a
30-minute consultation maybe it's you
know I don't know extra discount off
your physical product it doesn't matter
what it is but have some type of value
to offer and also tell your potential
client what you want them to do you want
them to swipe up you want them to click
the link down below you want them to
read the rest of the message on you know
whatever the next page okay so make sure
that you tell your potential client
these three things in your creative okay
so this is like the biggest part of
making a profitable Instagram ad and
this is where I see a lot of
entrepreneurs make mistakes because
they're not focusing on the hook story
and offer and they're wondering why
they're creative isn't converting
meaning they aren't getting potential
clients and customers to click on their
ad and put in their email is usually
because the creative isn't enticing
enough okay so make sure to stand out
with these three things now let's go
ahead and get into the nitty-gritty of
actually creating a profitable campaign
so who do we target what types of ads
should we run that kind of stuff okay so
I'm gonna go ahead there's two different
types of ads you can run on Instagram
right you have your Instagram story ad
and you have your newsfeed ad now
there's two different types of audiences
that you can target these two audiences
are either a look-alike audience or a
cold audience okay so a cold audience is
let's just say you're in the make money
online niche which is the nation I'm in
online entrepreneurship right
I could go target people that are big
online entrepreneurs like Tony Robbins
right Russell Brunson all these
different huge entrepreneurs that have
you know have established brands because
they've been doing this forever so they
have big followings now I could go and
target the
cold audiences meaning you know for
instance if I target Tony Robbins some
of his audience might not know who I am
obviously because his audience is huge
there's going to be a percentage of
people that don't know who I am so that
is a cold audience now I can also do a
look-alike audience which is I can make
an audience based off of you know my
current Instagram following right and
then I can basically give Facebook that
data say hey Facebook I want you to
create an audience audience of people
that looks like my current audience and
and Facebook will go out there and find
you know online aspiring online
entrepreneurs ages 18 to 35 that want to
build an online business okay that look
like my followers so there's two routes
you can go there now I will go ahead and
just show you how to set up the ad you
can go up here to the left hand corner
and create an audience which I'll go
ahead and click into because I recommend
doing this now you can either create an
audience based off your current
Instagram following or you can create
upload an email list that you currently
have and create a look-alike audience
based off your email list so Facebook
will basically take your email list and
they will go find people that look like
your email list so that you can go ahead
and target so this is the best way to do
targeting on on Instagram because it's
obviously more targeted your the more
Facebook the more data you give Facebook
the better your ads are gonna do in the
short term okay obviously cold audience
targeting can work very well in the long
term but it's going to take several days
for Facebook to kind of optimize and
find your ideal client customer okay so
to create an audience you're going to go
up here left-hand corner click on
audiences it'll take you to this page
and let's just go ahead and pretend like
we're creating you know an audience
based off of our email list right so you
would go to custom audience right so and
then you would go to customer file and
use you would go to use a file that
doesn't in
dude yeah this one's fine okay lifetime
value and then you would just drag and
drop a CSV file so a PowerPoint are
sorry not a PowerPoint a Excel
spreadsheet full of your emails okay
and you'd upload that right into here
and then press next and create that
audience so Facebook will now create an
audience of your email list and then
what you're gonna do is you're gonna
create it look like audience based off
of that email list so now you would you
know go here you go other sources let's
just pretend that this is like this is
one of my email lists enrolled in one of
my courses so we would create a
look-alike audience based off of people
who enrolled in one of my courses on my
email list right we'd select the
location you could put United States and
then what I would do is select six
different audiences so what this is
gonna do is there's about you know
there's gonna be like one to five
million people within zero to one
percent so these are the people that
look most like your email list okay then
one to two percent looks kind of like
your email list two to three percent
looks similar but not so similar to your
email list and then three to four
obviously they get gets less targeted as
you get further out in the percentages
okay so you create six audiences so that
you have more audiences to test okay so
now you have your look-alike audiences
but I want to show you how to you know
go ahead and set up a cold audience
because look like audiences are easy to
set up once you have that so let's go
ahead and create our first Instagram
story ad okay so we're gonna go here to
create and let's just go to traffic okay
as we get more advanced you can go for
conversions like running ads to get
leads or purchases but if you're just
starting off I would just focus on
traffic and as you know you perfect your
Facebook advertising as you get better
at it then you could go ahead and go for
conversions but for wrap for now I'm
just gonna show you how to run traffic
okay so we just want to get people
on to our website right so we're gonna
press Continue and we're gonna scroll
down right and so creating a custom or
create targeting a look-alike audience
is very easy you go here and custom
audiences and then you'd pick I don't
know look-alike you know 1% right you
click that and then you'd be dumb I
wouldn't touch any of this I wouldn't
touch age or gender anything like that
all that would touch is the edit the
placements but I'm gonna go back up and
show you how to do that okay so creating
a you know targeting a look-alike is
much easier because you don't have to
adjust any of the locations age gender
anything like that okay because you're
gonna let Facebook do the work and do
that because they already have the data
to work with but let's just pretend like
we're targeting a cold audience okay we
want to target a brand new audience so
I'm gonna do exactly what I was talking
about let's go ahead and target you know
people in the United States maybe 18 to
35 okay
or let's just say 36 okay and let's just
say we want to target primarily men
right as you can see this potential
reach is 52 million people in the United
States are men ages 18 to 36 that use
Facebook okay
our estimated daily results with the
current ad budget we have down there is
you know we're gonna reach nine point
eight thousand people up to 35,000
people and we're gonna get anywhere from
120 link clicks to 639 okay so now we
want to do some detailed targeting now
we can go ahead and type in Tony Robbins
right boom okay and obviously you're
gonna want to test a lot more than this
I show that kind of stuff in my free
training down below that'll be the first
link in the description but what you're
gonna want to do is target you know
someone in a cold audience that has to
do that's kind of similar to whatever
niche you're in if you're in the
Entrepreneurship space or if you're in
the fitness space you're gonna want to
target big Fitness influencers and stuff
like that big Fitness companies okay I'm
just gonna use Tony Robbins as an
example as you see the
audience gets a little bit narrowed 5.8
million people versus 52 million so
that's better
we're narrowing it down a little bit
more okay then we're gonna go ahead and
go to edit placements we're gonna select
the vise type we're gonna unclick
desktop and go just strictly mobile okay
because we're doing instagrams story
swipe up ads which are 15 seconds long
we're gonna unclick Facebook we're going
to unclick audience Network unclick
messenger unclick feed and we're just
doing Instagram stories for this example
okay then we're gonna go to daily budget
and you can set this as low as three
dollars per day now if we went three
dollars per day okay this would
drastically change our results obviously
we're only gonna get six to 37 link
clicks but hey if that's all you have to
spend three dollars a day you know times
30 what is that 90 dollars it's better
than spending zero because that's
potentially six link click sinks six new
customers that you can have every single
day because you're reinvesting into your
business okay so three dollars minimum I
usually you know I start off at like 10
dollars per ad set so I'll do 10 dollars
and then I'll scale up from there
they're you know depending on how good
my ad is doing okay so let's just do ten
dollars a day and you can you know
obviously you can set a start and end
date if you want to I don't
I usually just run it continuously and
then I check back up on it every single
day so we'll press continue okay and
then now you're going to link your
Instagram account so make sure your
Instagram account is actually linked to
your ads manager okay you can do that
you can look that up on you know the
Facebook support but it's gonna be right
here so I'm linking Orion hildreth
official write single image or video and
then I'm going to go ahead and upload
the video so if we upload the video we
I'm gonna go to browse library because I
think I have the video in here already
you know I could just select the video
right this one right here continue okay
and then it'll upload the video right
and the size has to be
1080 by 1920 for instagrams stories so I
just film it on my phone as you can see
this is how it's gonna look on the
Instagram story right you're gonna put
your website whatever it is W wrin

website in there and then you're gonna
come down here and press confirm and
that's all you have to do to run a
profitable Instagram story have a good
creative with a hook story and offer set
up your targeting create a look-alike
audience or you can just you know target
a cold audience depending on how far you
are in business if you're just starting
obviously you don't have an email list
to upload into Facebook so you can
target a cold audience go ahead and set
up the targeting upload your video and
then you should be good to go okay if
