scarcity mindset is not good for growth
let me give you an example right you
probably heard your parents tell you you
know I always have a plan B save as much
money as possible if there's some change
on the street pick it up right it could
be good for a rainy day if you're always
playing defense
you can never play offense right and if
you want to be successful you have to be
playing offense okay let me give you an
example from my life on when I was
always playing defense right my mom's
side of the family's from the
Philippines so obviously they grew up
very poor so they do have this
conservative mindset right which is not
always bad it's good for their situation
right they were able to get out of the
Philippines come to America and make em
live the American dream but for someone
like me who has every opportunity to
grow and become even better than my
parents or become better than my
grandparents and achieve more success
for my future kids right I can't do that
with a scarcity mindset but I went to
college I absolutely hated it was
and I believed after that you know save
as much money as possible and don't go
after the big risky dream don't go after
the entrepreneurial route even though
you know deep down in your heart you're
entrepreneurial right that's what I was
telling myself I said you know what I'm
not gonna take the risk it's not worth
it I need to get a safe job I needed to
get a degree and make fifty thousand a
year for the rest of my life and that
and that will pay the bills and you know
maybe I could retire and you know buy a
nice car maybe a Mercedes you know forty
years down the line and frankly that
wasn't for me I wanted the dream life I
want to be able to travel I wanted a
dream partner that I could you know take
on nice vacations go to luxury hotels
and have all the
things in life because that's just what
I wanted right but in order to get that
you can't be playing mr. conservative
and that's what I was doing but when I
met my partner who's not my wife
right we moved her across the country
she quit her job you know we put her
house up for rent and she basically
dropped everything for me and I said Wow
like she's not afraid to take risks like
what if what if I'm not you know the the
partner she thought I was gonna be but
she risked everything to come down here
for me and that kind of inspired me to
say you know what I'm gonna go after my
dream so I dropped out of college
because obviously that wasn't the route
for me I was getting straight C's you
know and I knew that I was gonna make
crap money and that just wasn't for me
so I dropped out of college and I
started my social media marketing agency
which was my first business right and I
went out there every single day taking
that risk to go get clients right and it
wasn't until my wife you know what this
course right that taught me about social
media marketing she put it on the credit
card I was talking about it for three
months straight like I don't know if I
should spend this thousand bucks right
and what she ended up doing was buying
two courses for me put two thousand on
the credit card and I was like oh man
you know I got to make it work out now
right we were we have two thousand
dollars with a credit card debt and I
just quit my job and quit college so
let's figure it out you know and that is
what led to my success so if you get
anything from this message it's take the
risk
don't play the conservative conservative
game go for growth focus on your plan a
all right it's good to have a plan B but
if you're constantly focusing on oh well
you know if what if things don't work
out I have to have a plan B if you're
focusing on your plan B you're taking
away time from your plan a so
always go with plan a
