hey miles here miles Beckler calm in
this video you are going to learn about
10 emerging online business trends that
are stemming from this state of fear
that we find ourselves in today you know
we're living in some crazy times and
there are many communities across the
globe and across the country that I live
in that are currently locked down and
this is changing user behavior this is
changing our cultural behaviors and it's
changing where our money goes and it's
changing business now I'm looking at
this from a purely online business
online CEO perspective and the idea that
we're working with here is the old
Gretzky quote is we want to skate to
where the puck is going to and that's
why I think about these types of
number one biggest thing that's about to
happen is more people are going to learn
new hobbies now this is a boom for
online content creators whether it's
chess whether it's knitting whether it's
cooking I mean the the number of
potential hobbies people are about to
learn is almost infinite and what's
happening is people are finding
themselves at home for longer periods of
time than normal and we've all had those
things we maybe have wanted to do
someday if we ever have enough time and
that's one thing people are finding
themselves with right now is an ample
amount of free time personally I'm kind
of interested in learning chess I've
been interested in learning that game
for a while and I've been going through
tutorials and playing a lot more chess
and I think all around the country and
all around the globe people are going to
spend more time researching looking into
those different hobbies and this means
they'll probably end up spending a
little bit of money in towards some of
those potential hobbies and this is
great for people who have been
passionately putting out content about
their hobbies because it was gonna be
even more eyeballs and more attention
flowing in that direction number two I
think this could be a catalyst for
virtual reality now I've had a couple of
virtual reality headsets I've been
playing with and thinking a lot about
how to integrate virtual reality into
our business but it always seemed very
far off right it never seemed like
something that was actually here it
didn't seem like the the time was right
for the idea but now thinking about the
ideas of large conferences there's an I
mean just a plethora of large
conferences that have been cancelled
completely
concerts big concerts and I think that
now people are gonna still want those
kinds of experiences but they might not
necessarily want to go be in a room
where in a closed space with a few
thousand people all pushing up against
the stand to hear and experience their
favorite band so there's gonna be some
leaders in this technology and my wife
and I are thinking a lot about how can
we start to integrate and maybe build on
this to stay on the leading edge of that
number three I think that more small
businesses and local businesses are
going to be committing to digital
marketing and e-commerce you know we've
been living in one of the greatest bull
markets of all times the stock market's
been great everything's been great if
you think about the stock market the way
the stock market works it's it's either
greed or fear right when the markets way
up and continuing to explode upwards
that's the green side of the pendulum
and when the market is doing what is
doing today dropping upwards of 10 12
percent per day multiple drops day over
day that's the fear side of things right
and eventually we'll find a little bit
of an equilibrium but in this time what
I'm trying to really get at is business
owners have not necessarily been forced
to go digital many have a lot of
business owners have embraced it and
they're probably dominating page one of
Google a lot of business owners have
embraced ecommerce small businesses
small manufacturers mom-and-pop shops
that have embraced the the Shopify
stores in e-commerce they're probably
been doing really well but today a lot
of small businesses are being forced to
choose and and if they're not forced to
choose now they may actually be forced
to choose in the future because we can
no longer ignore the foot traffic is
probably gonna dwindle to a low enough
point for long enough that it's gonna
pose them with a decision so what does
this mean for small business for digital
entrepreneurs like us consultants people
who are running marketing agencies
marketing services there's probably
gonna be a significant increase in this
kind of business opportunity in every
single local market so if you've already
been doing the work great that's
something we've talked about on this
channel for many years but it's still an
opportunity to go be of service to those
local businesses because the amount of
money flowing into the physical doors in
Main Street every town USA or across the
globe is probably going to dwindle and
the amount of money being spent online
in all of these communities is probably
going to go up smart business owners are
going to want to catch in front of that
trend and smart consultants and service
providers are the ones who can profit
from helping them get there on that so
number four there's gonna be more
searches about learning from home and
working from home so many school
districts have absolutely shut down
completely and many businesses and
office places have completely shut down
their local offices and everything's
going from home so you now have a huge
wave of people who are sitting at home
and they need to telecommute they need
to do online collaborations they're
gonna need to do webinars and they might
not have the tech skills for this they
might be in their 40s or 50s their 60s
even and technology isn't kind of native
to them like it is to the younger
generations so they might be spending
more time on YouTube searching how to
run a zoom webinar how do I do a shared
whiteboard on line how do I do project
management remotely and they're looking
for help with a sauna with zoom with
GoToWebinar with goto meeting with all
of these different applications that are
more often leveraged in the from home
space than they are in the actual work
place because we're not sitting in a
meeting room with a white board on the
wall anymore we need to create that
experience but we don't have the
physical space so the people who used to
lead these kinds of things who might be
in their 40s or 50s the 60s they might
be in the c-suite
they might not exactly know how to do
this so they're gonna look online and
who are they finding online well if
you've been putting out content if
that's your world if that's what you
help with people with then you're
probably well-positioned and that's also
just a giant opportunity that's gonna
get a lot more attention in the coming
months from here I think there's gonna
be more people spending we're on number
five at this point more people spending
more time on YouTube period I think
significantly people are gonna be
looking for answers for how to type
things so they need more people looking
for how to cook from home because a lot
of people have been mainly dependent on
eating out and maybe they're ready to
kind of kick this cook from home type
thing going so that's one thing they
might be looking for fixing things
around the house do you want to call
somebody into your house to fix that
little thing that's that's gone awry or
are you just gonna watch YouTube and
figure out how to do it yourself that's
kind of one
the trends meal plans workouts yoga all
of these kinds of things that were
normal cultural behaviors to go to the
place to get that experience probably
going to be starting to go more online
and more towards YouTube for that so yet
another opportunity for prophetic
content publishers on YouTube more
people learning new professional skills
with the desire to transfer into more of
a freelancer type world this is number
six so what I mean by this is even
though a lot of people are being forced
to work from home right they're closing
the offices through me a lot of people
who think about this me like you know
what this working from home thing is
pretty sweet I want to commit to
skilling myself up to the point where I
can get freedom of location and I can
decide to stay working from home even
when the offices open back up so there's
probably gonna be more people looking to
skill up to whether it's graphics design
web design marketing services whatever
that may be
I think there's to be more people
looking to skill up professionally in
this time to become more valuable to
themselves to their businesses and maybe
even to even more businesses because
that would open them up to more of this
lifestyle that they're getting a taste
from so more people looking for the how
to become a freelancer and remote worker
etc gaming and eSports now now the world
of gaming in eSports is absolutely
astoundingly large and it's been growing
by leaps and bounds here every year but
I think this is going to be a major
catalyst for several reasons number one
it's just that time at home number
there's so many more people that are
gonna have so much more time at home and
they're gonna dedicate it to playing
their game and when I say gaming eSports
I definitely mean twitch and I mean
streaming it as well because that's a
big part of the same thing but what I
think is also happening is culturally
you know friends hang out through these
online games they've got their headsets
on they're joking with each other
they're kidding which with each other
they'll have that experience of being
right there on the couch playing player
to player but yet they're each remote
they're in their comfortable safe
environments and I think this is gonna
become more common and the big other
factor for the younger kids out there I
think parents are gonna understand this
at a deeper level that this is just how
new generations hang out with each other
and it is through a virtual
face so I think there's gonna be more
time spent on gaming from people who
already game I think there's gonna be
more people who invest in gaming rigs in
new games and they're playing and
spending more on steam and games and
game reviews etc and there's to be more
people streaming the games and watching
those stream games on this past year
there was a fortnight championship and
it was a world championship of a game
called fortnight and the winner earned
three million dollars and this prize he
was a 16 year old kid I believe in this
prize at 3 million dollars for first
place is more than the the racecar
driver who won the Indianapolis 500 it's
more than the tennis champion who won
Wimbledon so the data has been already
supporting there's so much money there
is so much attention and energy in this
world in eSports and I think this is
really a catalyst for the next level of
that world and if you even think about
professional sports a lot of
professional sports or even closing
their stadiums right now if not closing
the entire league itself so yours we're
already seeing more people are going to
experience games in the virtual scape
right and some people think well
watching gaming watching people play
video games online that's weird well it
could be easily stated that watching
people play football or watching people
play baseball is weird because you're
watching men play a game it's just a
different type of game is all it is and
the younger generations get that and I
think it's gonna be embraced at every
level to me gaming in eSports that hold
niche that whole world is just going to
continue to explode massively over the
next five to ten years number eight at
this point FBA fulfillment by Amazon and
drop shipping are both going to get even
more difficult and this is because I
think there's gonna be so much more
competition going into the space all
those little mom-and-pop business owners
they're gonna figure out how do I get my
products on Amazon because clearly
people are buying on Amazon and not off
of my store they may end up closing
their store and moving into a warehouse
to lower their rent because they're in a
different neighborhood now etc etc they
may renegotiate their rent and they
might start flipping their own inventory
on Amazon inventory they've already
bought and paid for which means people
going out and buying and paying for
inventory to put it up on on Amazon are
gonna have just that much more difficult
of a time so I just think that's gonna
be more competitive obviously there's
more attention and more money probably
going to flow in this direction but when
the competition spikes up the margins
already razor-thin that's just not
necessarily a good recipe for a
long-term business model I think digital
currencies can possibly see a nice
resurgence Bitcoin the prices have been
absolutely hammered and it's not
necessarily about the price right this
isn't an idea like I'm not talking
investments by any means what I mean is
if you have the option of paying between
three different ways number one is you
get currency out something that many
people touch the exchanges hands a lot
of times
number two you use your credit card you
put it the Machine then you have to
touch that pen you have to touch the
buttons on the pen and all that stuff
and you again if you're physically
touching things or number three you pull
out your phone you pull up your barcode
and you scan your barcode you don't
actually touch anything and that digital
currency instantly changes hands I think
digital currencies have needed some sort
of a catalyst to really reach that next
level of actual that use case level and
I think this could very well be it this
is a long term major cultural shift but
I think it's just something that popped
up for this and then number ten less
time in gyms so the local gyms have been
sweaty smelly places for quite some time
I'm sure there are some many clean and
beautiful gyms out there and good on to
those people when I went in toward the
last couple of gyms I was thinking about
joining before buying home gym equipment
it was it was like oh god I don't want
to be in this place with all these other
people with uh and now with what's going
on I think that that uh uh vibe is is up
to the next level right and I think
people are going to make this shift so
there's a large segment of our world and
I think Instagram and social media is
absolutely fueling this and working out
is great right it releases a positive
endorphins if you're feeling stress and
you just got this mind jumbling go get
some exercise it's a great way to kind
of get things into the right order to
get the dopamine's firing to feel better
so people are not going to stop working
out people are not going to stop
exercising what they're gonna do is
they're gonna shift that gym budget
they're gonna shift the the time and the
place of what they're focusing it on so
they might not be paying for the big box
gym they might not go to that 24 hour
fitness or Planet Fitness or whatever it
may be and it might turn to the daily
burn they might turn to an online
membership program they might turn to
YouTube they might turn to other sources
they might actually decide they don't
want to go
meet with that one on one personal
trainer anymore they're gonna do a
virtual personal trainer and they're
gonna find somebody who can coach them
from zoom or from Skype and they're
gonna get that same experience from the
comfort of their own home from their
personal safe space and that's number 10
and these are 10 ideas that I've been
thinking about like where is user
attention going and if you continue to
think about ok so this is what is right
this is our reality as it is today what
does this mean for my business what does
this mean for the other businesses
around me what does this mean for
affiliate marketing I think it's
absolutely bullish for affiliate
marketing what does this mean for review
sites
well if more people are thinking about
playing chess then they're probably
looking for more reviews of chess
they're probably looking for more how
to's of chess or knitting or quilting or
drones or whatever it may be right so I
think it's bullish for all of these
business models that I've been talking
about for so many years because more
people are going to be looking for those
helpful guides for those trusted
advisors to help them enjoy their time
they have at home to continue to stay
fit to learn new things to really enjoy
this new world that we're living in
because we are absolutely living in a
new world at this point and I user
behavior attention and ultimately the
monies people spend day-to-day are just
gonna go into a new direction people
probably are gonna tighten the belts a
little bit but they're going to continue
to buying things they're going to
continue to spend money where that money
is being spent is now changing and if
you're on the forefront of that if
you're ahead of the curve you stand to
be in a good position to be of service
to these people to help them solve their
problems answer their questions learn
the DIY things and obtain those items
that they're actively searching for and
that's why I think the online business
model is a beautiful model I hope you've
