7 YouTubers that Don’t Talk (But Grow Faster than You)

So my son and I discovered this channel
after trying to design some more advanced LEGO
from a Christmas present that we got.
And what I love about this guy
is that he makes me feel like I visited my grandpa
from another country who is trying to teach me some stuff,
but he knows that he doe
sn't share the same language as me.
And what I loved the most are the comments
on this particular video, his most popular video.
"This guy can explain more without saying a word
than most YouTubers can after babbling for hours."
"When he said,' 'it was really powerful, man. (laughs)
I almost cried."
Ah, these are so good.
He's got 16,000 subs,
quite small compared to the rest of the list here,
but I wanted to give a shout-out
to some of the smaller creators out there
who are doing great things.
I think that this person can benefit
by doing more videos like this,
'cause it's just, he's got such a great personality
and I just want more of him.
A lot of his more recent videos, they're a lot different,
and as a content creator, as a YouTuber,
you have to pay attention to the signals
that YouTube and your community are giving you.
They like a certain video style,
well, you should probably do more of that.
(nails clicking)
(fingers tapping)
(nails clicking)
You are watching an ASMR video.
ASMR means autonomous sensory meridian response,
or sometimes known as auto sensory meridian response,
and it's sort of a tingling sensation
that can happen on your scalp
and it might move down your back
and your neck and your upper spine
and it often happens as a result of these kinds of sounds.
And if you've explored any bit of YouTube,
you might have landed on one of the millions
of different ASMR videos that are out there.
This is just one of several different channels this person,
who's the owner of ASMR Bakery.
Every video looks basically like this
and she taps on various things
and we hear them in all of their glory.
And it's not my cup of tea,
but I know a lot of people get a lot of help
for stress reduction and mental health and therapy
through this kind of stuff,
so as long as it's helping people, keep going.
The one thing to note about this particular channel
is that she's been absolutely consistent
and although she's only started
across the past couple years, she has over 208 videos,
coming out with two per week very consistently.
(nails tapping)
(water gurgling lightly)
This was one of those random YouTube channels
that YouTube recommends to us every once in a while
and I fell into a giant rabbit hole
and I was so impressed to discover
that this person had about one million subscribers.
Most of the videos following Pollock's journey here,
as he has gone through some diseases
and has received medicine,
and you can't help but kinda wanna follow along.
This person also has a number of videos
related a number of aquarium ecosystems that he's built
and it's just really interesting.
What I love most is just the close-up clarity in the videos
and just the lessons as you learn.
And, you know, a lot of people,
they don't search for this stuff, but they find it
and they get sucked in.
This video here in particular, was very interesting,
it was a carrot that was boiled, put into one of his
aquarium systems and these little shrimp things
that just kind of went crazy for it.
Even turning orange as a result of eating the carrot.
12 million views, not particularly bad.
(upbeat tribal music)
All right, the craziest part about this particular
YouTube channel is all it is, it's telling us statistics
and it's showing us visually the statistics, at least
in this particular video, of vary rare animals.
And there's all kinds of other things like, the different
kinds of ways to die, the different kinds of sizes
of dinosaurs, and all kinds of comparisons.
The beauty of this channel is you can't help but watch
all the way through until the end.
You want to know what the rarest of the thing is,
you wanna know the largest of the thing, or the richest
of the thing.
And so this channel does a beautiful job of showing
that visually and keeping you compelled to stay through
to the end.
And with one and a half million subscribers, in most
of their success coming within the last few months,
just shows you the power of just keeping people hooked.
(suspenseful music)
Similar to the last example, this is one of those channels
again, no voice, but likely a lot of research put behind
the story-telling and the visuals here.
In this case for this video, it's five most haunting
last photos, and of course as you can see this is...
You saw the last photo of the Titanic before it sank.
It's also telling a little bit of a story about a man
who was supposed to be on the ship that wasn't,
their boss just wouldn't let them go.
And honestly he's probably very thankful for that.
Another example of, just mystery, and what's gonna happen
next, or the need to know the end of the story.
And likely this channel really benefits from high watch
time and just curiosity, especially with some really
compelling titles and thumbnails.
They do a lot of space related videos as well,
just again, it's one of those things that once you see
the thumbnail and title you just kind of have to know
or understand what happened.
(snapping fingers)
(scratching)
(blowing)
(tapping)
So meet Seth Everman, one of the most entertaining
YouTubers I've found in such a long time.
He has this face that is the same in almost every video
and every once in a while he does a little eyebrow raise
just to mix things up a little bit.
But this was a very popular video, 53 million views,
which is pretty crazy.
And he has this like hypnotic stare, so maybe that's
how he's gained so many subscribers, and then he likes
to poke fun of himself and play around.
But he's a really great piano player.
I also learned that he was self-taught, which
was pretty amazing, but I think he just stayed consistent.
He sort of developed this character using himself,
and his music, and again was a great mix and has captured
the hearts of many.
(piano music)
So this is Vinheterio, a very entertaining piano player
who had started on YouTube back in 2008.
And actually for the first two years, he was actually
speaking to the camera, he actually doesn't speak English
either, however, he later switched to stopping the voice
and just playing piano.
And coming up with this really creative videos,
for example this one here, "Can You Hear The Difference
Between Cheap and Expensive Pianos?".
Here he plays all the way up to a piano that's, I think
over six figures in this particular video.
And he has several of these kinds of videos,
he also does a lot of meme music using the piano,
but he has the same sort of idea as Seth, not just
with the piano but with this idea of sort of just pointing
at the audience to make sure they're sticking around
and playing along with them.
And let me take you actually back to some of his
older videos to show you the quality, 'cause the quality
here is very good, but this was filmed last year.
So here is playing the Sonic theme, he also did some
chords when he picks up coins and things like that
and jumps, which is really fun.
But as you can see, the quality is far less
and he's just in his living room.
But as you can see, he has that stare with the audience
and he's showing off his skills at the same time,
but he's having a lot of fun.
("Jingle Bells")
("Adams Family Theme")
He's also very good at tying into pop culture,
with the memes and the seasons, for example
this is Halloween songs.
And I had once hired a consultant for my YouTube channel
who said to definitely play on the seasons
and what's going on in pop culture, and obviously
Vinheterio is doing a great job of that.
("Halloween Theme")
That's good, that's good I like that.
(hammering)
(chopping tree)
(tree cracking)
So this is John Plant, I didn't know his name for
the longest time, but he owns a channel called
Primitive Technology.
And if you look in the lower right hand corner of the video
you'll even see it says PrimitiveTechnology.wordpress.com
he just had a free blog.
That wasn't even his own site, it was hosted on WordPress
and since then he's grown this massive following,
10 million subscribers
in the most addictive videos I have ever seen.
He actually lives in Australia, he doesn't actually
live outdoors he has a house, but he comes here
in his little backyard area and he builds things
and he creates some of the most amazing things
out of just what he has available in nature and you can't
help but watch all the way through.
Here in this video he's building a tiled roof hut.
Here he built this really amazing forge blower
and then he uses kiln's and things to create clay pots,
clay he gets from his little river that's next to him.
It's just so amazing.
Now the cool thing about this is I didn't know this
until after a few videos in, but if I go over here and turn
on the captions, you'll even see he actually teaches you
how to do this.
So although in across all of his videos and I don't know,
billion views, he's never said a word.
Well he's taught us so much because he actually shares,
look it iron bacteria, which is orange slime.
Commonly found in creeks, swamps, and springs
and he just teaches you the whole thing.
So if you're gonna watch John make sure you turn on
the captions because it is so incredibly informative
and it just makes me wanna go outdoors
and make things like this.
Recently I think he's gotten his own actual domain name now,
and he's even come out with a book called
"Primitive Technology" and it came out last year,
which was really cool.
But he has so many amazing things, my kids and my wife
and I watch his channel.
And one of my sons favorite is the bow and arrow video
where he just, oh it's just the most amazing thing.
I won't spoil it for you but this is John Plant
and I definitely recommend you follow him.
He has a total of only 51 videos, but 10 million subscribers
never saying a word, incredible.
And just pay attention to all the different camera angles,
I mean this is why he only comes out
with one video a month.
And it's just him in the wild, but he's got the camera
angles, the sound is beautiful, and what he does kind
of speaks for itself.
So pretty incredible, right?
No talking, yet some massive channels there.
Have you run into any of those channels before?
If you have let me know in the comment section below
and also give a shout-out to your favorite channel
who is not on the list.
Who also doesn't talk either.
And if you have any thoughts on why these are doing so well
despite not talking or any specific ones that you want
to point out that might be helpful for the rest
of the community in terms of learning and discovery,
please feel free to share.
