finally got YouTube live to work with a
pre-scheduled thing so learning process
continues three years in appreciate
having you here this video is all about
authority sites versus affiliate sites I
want to break this down because and it's
been about two years I really went in on
the authority side idea and my friends
at authority hacker have reopened their
major course right the authority hacker
Pro this is the courts that I used to
train Melanie and I on all the bits and
pieces but I've also used it to train my
teammates right so I'm bringing on I'm
building my backlink division like I
hand them this training and whole bit is
to build an authority site not just an
affiliate site so I've been talking
about it more lately on social I've been
talking about it in my emails and a lot
of people are like well what's the
difference like I don't get it why why
are there different things and there's
overlap but at the same time they kind
of serve different purposes so that's
what we're gonna do here looks like we
got everybody going on here Justin
what's up man I love pretty sure you
made that reddit comment you thought
that reddit thread I was talking about
totally appreciate that
DJ deal oh we got Dwight we got flipped
we got the Godfather here Jim PD Seattle
in the house what's going on my man
all kinds of people it's just it's just
going on so I thank you guys if you're
here hit the thumbs up that just helps
do all that engagement stuff I don't ask
for that nearly enough but here we go
and I got Brisbane in the house we got
my C Detroit that's cool man my lives I
love mornings which is terrible for like
Australia for New Zealand for Singapore
so I'm really really stoked that that
actually works here at this point in
time so Jim Kennison what was the
training I mentioned it's in the actual
description below I am an affiliate full
disclaimer but it's the one I've been
using so it's the authority hacker Pro
they haven't even opened the doors for
literally two years it's been closed
they added something like 200 new videos
in that time it's kind of a lifetime
thing once you get any other group you
get the trainings and they just keep
updating it and they're honest genuine
people they teach you how to go from
kind of a bootstrap website to an
affiliate site
to ultimately an authority site so with
that let's jump into it so um an
authority site can do affiliate
marketing and an affiliate site can grow
into an authority site the main
difference in my personal opinion is
that an affiliate site is pretty much
going to be and limited to a review
website your goal with an affiliate site
is to essentially gain the attention
people looking gain the attention of
people looking to solve a specific
problem or who are looking for a
specific product that solves a problem
and then you are pre selling and that's
really the extent of what you're doing
so you're reviewing and your pre selling
in this process you need to make some
informational based posts because that's
what we use to get the links back to you
then the authority site is where you're
really positioning the brand or the
individual okay and obviously could be a
personal brand like this is the miles
better channel right like I am the brand
in many senses but with my mom with my
wife it's ask Angels okay so it's we've
now kind of got her name into it a
little bit but for the first five years
she really didn't have her face on the
website but it still positioned her
brand as an expert who could be trusted
in a space now the what happens from
this point is the big difference okay
and what you actually get with an
authority site is it opens you up to a
completely separate world of
monetization it really opens you up to
more monetization opportunities to the
multiple streams of income and there's a
lot of people throwing around the word
passive income you probably know that I
think it's the total lie it's just a
phrase people throw around to try to
sell you stuff it always takes work in
this business I actually had I let go of
a teammate today who just stopped
performing and you know that's active
work the same passive right I always
have to stay on it things happen with
our servers even if you're you're hiring
and outsourcing everything from a team
those people gonna disappear there's
just always active work so what I'm all
about is residual income recurring
income and multiple streams of income I
like when my income is coming from a
gigantic variety of sources if I had an
affiliate site that only
income from Amazon I'd be a little
worried so billion sites we're gonna
talk about how you can get full streams
of income within an affiliate site but
on the actual authority site side so my
wife sold services on hers she actually
did one-on-one kind of sessions with
people we sell a lot of digital
downloads mp3 digital downloads we sell
physical products that we've created at
this point in time
she sells video courses video training
courses and she does extremely well as
an affiliate and the reason she's able
to sell all of those different things
and we didn't start by doing all of them
right like this is a ten year path that
I'm kind of summing up in four sentences
for you but the reason why she's able to
sell so many different things is because
she and her brand are positioned as the
authority why are they position to the
authority because she shows up damn near
everywhere she gets she literally
reaches about five million six man I
can't total it up I've tried to total it
up she reaches something like five
million six million people per month
with her messages now that that's the
long-form messages the the YouTube the
blog and the short form stuff the
instagrams and the Facebook's and the
Pinterest pins so literally like five
million plus people but really what
positions her as the expert is when
somebody goes to Google and searches in
like what's the spiritual meaning of
finding a feather and her blog post
shows up in the number one spot
now we're not selling feathers in that
situation right like that is an
informational post that is something
that a true expert on the whole world of
spirituality is going to put out and
when people who are interested in her
space continue to search for different
things that they're interested in on
different platforms right there on the
iTunes Store they look for angel
messages or they're over on Pinterest
and they're looking up this that the
other angel cards they're on YouTube
they would for Angel card readings and
my wife shows up everywhere on all of
these platforms and she's got massive
volumes of content the default thought
is wow this girl's got to figure it out
this girl has got it going on she she
really is an authority and or an expert
in this space that increases their
likelihood to essentially listen to her
but more so that increases the
likelihood of them getting on the email
at which point they go in and they start
to get to really know like entrust
Melanie because she sends a lot of
heartfelt stuff a lot of honest stuff
through her email list and that is the
open door now an affiliate site by
contrast to first I mentioned before we
could talk about how to build out
multiple streams of income and it's
essentially through different affiliate
networks okay so if you're just 100%
solely reliant on Amazon you want to
take a look at and you have traffic so
you can apply to these other ones you
want to take a look at some of the other
places that you might be able to find
products that Amazon doesn't have
margins that might be better for you and
or prices that are better for them so CJ
comm is an affiliate network that's huge
they have every product Under the Sun
Avant blink AV a ntl i NK probably one
of the leaders but one of the least
known they're they're difficult to get
into because they really they actually
deny like 60 or 80 percent of the
affiliates that apply to them they're in
the outdoor space camping anything
outdoor related sports fitness all of
those types of products that's really
where they do really well share sale
obviously you've probably heard a
Clickbank and all of those other things
so as an affiliate you can get the
different income sources from the
different networks and then there's the
advertising income right so you can also
put advertisements on the space and so
there's made for adsense types made for
ads websites and that's kind of a paired
business model now the benefit for the
affiliate side is that you can kind of
get started even if you don't know where
you want to go right so if you haven't
been playing a game for ten years and
just geeking out on this one game door
you're an expert or if you haven't been
juggling for years and years you just
think juggling is the coolest thing in
the world and you just want to share
your love for juggling with a world or
racing drones or or horseback riding or
yoga or fitness or whatever it is and
you're like I just want to shoot I just
want to promote stuff right that's where
affiliate marketing becomes a great
entrance point but as you're moving into
that world you can always think about
how could this become something more so
you know that I've got my affiliate case
study that I've been going on or maybe
you don't so I've been doing an
affiliate case study I started a brand
new website four and a half months ago
or so the reason I chose this website
was because yes I'm starting as an
affiliate I'm really starting focused on
reviewing the specific products it's
about I see a vision
of how this could become much more I see
how I can turn it into a little bit of
an educational company I see some
courses that I could eventually create
to help people so when people buy a
physical product they actually want a
result you've probably heard the whole
like nobody wants a drill people want
holes and things right like that's kind
of a sales bit so the idea is you buy a
big old flat-screen TV you want to hang
it on the wall well I got a draw into a
stud or I got a drill so I'll go buy a
drill
you only want the drill you want the
hole in the wall but you don't want the
hole in the wall you want the actual TV
mounted on the wall it's the products
products product theory I got a video on
that there so when I looked at it when I
decided to go down that route that's one
of the kind of main criterias for me is
okay so I can start this as an affiliate
website is this something that could
turn into a full-on Authority and become
one of the most trusted websites in that
space that could not only help them
connect with the things that they want
because I'm reviewing things for sure
but eventually help them get how to use
the things and those things create a
result how to get that result how to do
better at those types of things and and
for me it was a it was a yes across the
board so that's why I went in that
direction so I know it's a bit it could
be considered confusing right because an
affiliate site could become an authority
site and an authority site can do
affiliate marketing but there are
countless affiliate sites that do
nothing but just affiliate reviews and
they're super niche um if you go search
for keyword phrases longtail keyword
phrases like best blender for green
smoothie I bet you'll find a website
that's like best green smoothie blenders
calm and that site there probably isn't
gonna be a major brand they're probably
using stock photography they're probably
not trying to build themselves up as the
smoothie Queen but at the same time on
the first page of Google you could
probably find results there of people
who are like fitness experts or diet
experts or weight-loss experts or even
cooking experts who are standing in that
power and they're trying to build brand
and the power of brand is so valuable
and that's what you see with literally
like the Coca Cola's and the apples and
all that like the brand is so powerful
that people across the world know it
recognize it and just go for that one
because they're branded for it
right people just default choose the one
they identify with and what you as an
authority site give people the
opportunity to do is to kind of build
that identity versus I have a question
what's the best solution that one great
thanks for helping me solve the problem
that's what an affiliate site does and
there doesn't you don't have that
long-term potential out of it both are
great there's a time and a place for
both I think there's more long-term
potential value in building things up as
an authority site personally I'd rather
go all-in on one major authority site
then build out four or five affiliate
sites because that one authority site
can go in two directions and areas and
product lines that an affiliate site
just can't do right there's um I mean
straight up like I can I can make a line
of hats and I could probably sell a fair
number of hats I'm always wearing
freaking hats it's part of my brand at
this point I'm just kind of lazy to do
it but like that's the kind of stuff I'm
talking about like Gary Vaynerchuk right
the Gary Vee brand like dude selling
shoes and wine but he's teaching
marketing now I know there's overlap on
the wine because of his old school story
but shoes lay just selling shoes because
people like him they're like I want to
replicate V stuff because he's an
authority and people associate and they
want to rep that and they want they want
to kind of display that I'm one of the
identity I identify with his I'm one of
these people right so so that's the real
power behind it I think a big part of
why my wife and I are so successful is
we really went all-in on her one brand
for a very long time took us five plus
years to really crack that ten grand a
month mark and then we're still working
we're still doing the same business
practices day in and day out on her
business ten years later and a lot of
people get going over here like oh
that's cool and I'm gonna do that one
and do that one when you really focus
your energy and on one thing for ten
years magic happens and and you're gonna
need to be making money for the next ten
years anyways whether you decide you
want to commute and go to a cubicle and
deal with that or work retailer or drive
trucks or whatever as you do ninety
percent of us watching this video need
to do something for money
I just wanted to do something that a
could get me the point where I could
make millions with it because the desk
jobs I was working we're absolutely
gonna cap out at 100 grand a year and
I'm like whoa how can I get a hundred
grand a month
hiring a to three hundred grand a month
why not if it's possible why not work
within a system that could get that and
in the freedom right the time freedom
lifestyle freedom I'm kind of wrapping
up one of the houses I've got turning in
an area be and probably go to Asia for
like two months and I'm gonna keep
working I'm gonna work my ass off while
I'm there but I'm just gonna avoid snow
and cold and go hang out by the beach in
Asia and eat Thai food and in Thailand
because it's great
it's the best food in the world maybe
huh Maxim foods pretty damn good so
that's what I got pretty much at this
point I'm gonna jump into the chat now

with your audience even if you're on
Instagram engage with everybody get
asking people follow-up questions people
will tell you what they want you to per
helpful for me and so what I did instead
of trying to go do Instagram and trying
to get Pinterest going for me and trying
to get Facebook going for me and do all
of the things I'm like now I'm just
gonna really commit to youtubers commit
to you guys that are my answer the
questions I'm gonna do my lives and I'm
gonna go all in on this one platform as
doing all the Twitter and all that stuff
like that's just distracting me so it's
kind of like I've taken a very different
approach than what Gary Vaynerchuk has
done he's like gotta be everywhere I'm
like no I gotta go really really all in
on one group of people one audience in
one place and really keep showing up for
them
that's the authority game happening
right that's what I'm doing it just it
just makes me more real more believable
more trustworthy and I think it's
important for you to kind of really
consider that and take that in so at
this point I'm gonna I'm gonna loop
around and cover some of the comments so
we get Andy in the hustle in Oz asking
Geoff no license in Australia to have an
authority site so not Australian but in
the in the States we can operate as a
sole proprietor and I would search I
think the common law for Australia came
from the same
common law that came from the US which
is actually all British common law so if
you've got something called a sole
proprietor we get 1099 so essentially
you don't necessarily need to go start a
corporation and all of those things to
start doing affiliate marketing in the
US you can just sign up we give our
social security number on a w-9 form
which is an IRS form and essentially
they send us
it's a w-9 at the end of the 1099 at the
end of year that says miles better
earned this much money so they report it
to the tag and we have to report it as
our own we pay like self-employment
taxes that the other generally speaking
when you do get to a certain level in
the US at least it makes sense to start
setting up structures like an S
corporation because you can just avoid
paying you could pay a lower tax rate
that's probably the better way of saying
it aren't legal stuff obviously but
that's it so I'm gonna scroll up to the
top because I know people have been
chatting and literally so whyphy went
out with some lady friends they're all
cooking bacon and having a good time I'm

guess an authority site that also does
reviews that's it so Dale what you're
thinking about is like I want to do
reviews but I really want to help that
audience and that's what authorities do
right that's what experts do is they
really when you fall in love with your
audience to the level of like I'm gonna
show up to do five hundred and seventy
five videos or whatever it's done
I'm not pitching things all the time I
promote stuff from time to time when the
timings right but ultimately I'm showing
up for you guys and that's the big tweet
whereas it I think an affiliate is
constantly looking at okay if I can get
this little series of like this keyword
this click will get me this much money
some people are arbitrage in that
through paid clicks to one-time pre sell
stuff and it's just a 100 percent quant
game and quant forces qual quantitative
numbers game qualitative kind of a heart
feeling other type of data point game
I'm playing the quality
game because even if for some scary
reason YouTube shuts me down
I've got enough brand value now I can
see in the search engine data you can
look at keywords there's a bunch of
keywords around named people search
miles better SEO miles Beckler Facebook
ads so even if for some reason I
disappeared from here which I ain't
gonna happen
people would they're seeking me out now
because the power of brand because I've
built myself up as an authority through
demonstrating how great I'm done and
I've done a ton of reviews right my
keyword research videos I make good
money from keyword research affiliate
kickbacks commissions because of I
taught people they want to see how to
learn how to do keyword research great
here's how pros do it by the way I use
this tool people click on it use it I
get a commission on that so so it really
is kind of that blend here dude hack
you've been in here since the very early
days I totally remember you I like your
icon so now you're hitting Wow so do
tack is saying I've been there since the
very early days and now I've been
hitting a hundred K users per month
thank you that is awesome site looks
pretty outdated your question is well
doing a redesign hurt SEO generally
speaking no it could but generally
speaking no and what could make it a
negative SEO issue on the site the or
day of running number one if the new
theme is way slower so if your page load
speed so before you start looking what
your page load speed GT metrics GTM et
RI XCOM so go look at how fast it loads
if you're loading it 2.1 seconds you put
a new theme on and also you're loading
it 6.5 seconds that will potentially
cause a problem and then pay attention
to your heading tags some themes will
automatically take your title and add it
as an h1 other themes won't you just
want to make sure that right now if
you've got one h1 showing every time
when you flip over to the next one
you've got one h1 showing every time
code bloat could be a problem
meaning if your current theme has very
tight code not a lot of HTML on the page
and then your next one has a ton of code
Google is looking at the code to text
ratio but I'm serious those are all very
minor things and if you're going with
something like thrive themes or some
other pro level theme I would call it
you're probably going to be totally good
and just stay focus on the usability
from from
users and great work taking action I
haven't seen you I want to mention this
dude dude hack you were in in the early
days you disappeared good on you you
went and work for you but my goal here
with these videos I don't want you guys
to get hooked on watching my videos I
think that's what Gary Vee is goal is
Gary Vee wants people to get addicted to
watching too Gary Vee videos I want you
to a figure out what you need to do next
to get going if you need a training or
course it's gonna be a hundred percent
handheld roadmap that's what's in the

you to go do the work go it just takes
grinding it out figuring it out there's
a bunch of learning curves right and and
that's what I love and then hearing that
you're back and you're you're making
getting a hundred thousand visits a
month your site is absolutely brilliant
so I hope you're monetizing that well do
I usually use an ad network for
monetizing so yeah made some ad networks
are the absolute smallest portion of our
income for my wife and my business I
don't run ads on my YouTube videos on
purpose because the fake gurus are all
up they want you like the fake gurus who
want to sell you scams you are their
perfect audience member and it ain't
worth it for me to get thirty cents to
show you some scam e advertisement so I
just turn them off on this and I don't
have them running on my blog it's the
same reason my wife site we do have some
advertisements running but it just it's
not it's not the best monetization
mechanism I think if you have a very
high traffic website and you're not
making a lot of conversions advertising
makes great sense but you want to look
at other ad platforms I think media vine
is one and AD thrive is another versus
the Google ad platform because they're
gonna pay you a lot higher I think they
call it a CPM it's not CPM rpm is the
number so it's its revenue per thousand
visits number you can get a lot higher
on some of the other ad networks but
they usually need to have like
twenty-five thousand visits per month on
that Jim piety checked out a site good
to hear that so Karla you've been doing
online websites and businesses since the
early 2000s but you heard of thrive
themes for me when I posted my first
bids do I still use a platform I do so
miles Becker com runs on it my wife's
website that gets 850,000 days a month
that runs on it my new affiliate demo
site runs on it then I have a fourth
site that I'm kind of starting haven't
talked about
much I'm probably gonna test out a new
theme but it's a super geeky theme it's
supposed to be like the fastest theme
ever is what it is it's and it's made by
this group of people and it's it's not
super updated he's not a user-friendly
theme it requires you to be a developer
and again so I think PageSpeed is just
more and more and more important for
people and so I'm like can I get I think
I'm stuck around the two second and I
want my page load time to be down to
like one second and so another theme DIY
themes shout out to those guys there I'm
not using it that's when I looked at
that would be the user friendly
variation it's very simple but boy you
even go to DIY themes calm and that
website loads like that and I think that
that matters right Google's paying
attention to how long your page load
takes time that's awesome you like the
the free card readings on Melling site
I'm glad to hear that all right I'm just
going through looking for Kevin Rundle I
want to be able to sell affiliate
products but your expertise leans
towards Authority and so think about it
Kevin like I I'm I just went all-in as
an authority site right like I didn't
know where I wanted to go do I want to
try to get booked for $50,000 speaking
gigs I think Gary Vee gets paid a
hundred 150 thousand dollars per
speaking gig I love speaking on stage
like that sounds like a great deal for
me you gotta have a whole lot of
authority to get to that point I didn't
know what I wanted to do with it so I
was like I'll just build the authority
first grow the list first and then I'll
figure out what if my audience actually
won because I think another way to look
at it and this is what's kind of cool in
the world of authority sites and and
even affiliate sites is like every one
of you watching right now we got 94
people on hit that thumbs up button for
me everyone you watching I will put
money on it that all of you guys are
gonna buy something online within three
days seven days I put even more money on
it right like we are all just buying
stuff and so one of the things I'm doing
a lot at this point is thinking like
okay what are the other things my
audience and Melanie's audience are
going to be buying regardless of whether
they buy it from me or buy it from
someone else and then how do I review it
in a way that's relevant to help them
just get what they're gonna buy already
anyways and I think that's the approach
so the audience comes first really like
and the authority side is
like I'm gonna help you guys it's gonna
be there for the long run so you can
trust whatever that is right that's your
bit then once you have that audience by
the way you know I don't pay for many
tools but this keyword research tool
this is a must-have if you're in the
marketing and here's how to use it right
and those well-timed
pitches I guess you would call them
those are where all the money comes in
so instead of like trying to do product
review product review product review
product review product review
it's like valuable and valuable and
valuable and valuable grow the audience
and everyone's almost like by the way do
you want this cuz I use this it's really
really good I train my team with this

time I tried mixing in some affiliate
links in the early days it just didn't
make any money because they didn't have
a big audience yet so it's that whole I

income now it's about this much work for
like this much income maybe that much

exaggerated it's probably that much

yeah I think I don't know of affiliate
websites are long term right what do you
consider long term is what I would ask
you internet marketing blog would you
consider an long term being 20 years
some I'm 30 how old why I'm 38 right now
so like my long term is my 70s and 80s
that's literally I'm like I want this
stuff to cash flow for like my 60s 70s
and 80s so I'm thinking 30 year type
timeframes in what I'm doing now that's
long term to me I don't know if
affiliate sites are gonna be the thing
cranking in that time but people helpful
people educating others on the world of
marketing whatever that landscape looks
like in 30 years that's gonna be a thing
and I look at Jay Abraham you know I
look at Dan Kennedy who came out of the
grave and he's still alive and I look a
lot of the greats
it's addicting to keep sharing what we
do
with my wife as well you know in the
spirituality space like there's a lot of
people who have been writing books
forever in there still read books or in
their 60s 70s 80s Lewis Hey
from Hay House publishing started a I
think hundred and seven million dollar a
year publishing company
she wrote books until she passed away
she passed away like 85 87 I saw her
speak on stage she was 84 years old I
went to a conference of theirs on
learning how to publish books like 50
hundred our conference and she spoke on
stage a four year old woman she was
loving it she was crushing it was like
that that's where that's that's what I
want right like I want I'm in a forever
game and that's the authority thing
versus like I just come up with
something to make a little bit of money
I guess great but eventually we're gonna
sell it then what are you gonna do right
then there's always something else
versus if I can really focus all of my
energy on one thing ish and the Myles
Beckler brand has enough room to zigzag
I can go into different spaces I might
start talking about investing more I
could talk more about personal finance
right like what do you do with millions
you know when you when you start
stacking 50 grand a month 70 grand a
month those types of numbers will you do
with that kind of income so there's room
for me to grow from here and it would
all fit under this brand neat and tidy
versus if I was just like affiliate
marketing review guy dotnet right
there's just like a ceiling to that and
if affiliate marketing what if
California changes the rules and gdpr
changes the rules and all these rules
about cookies change because they're
changing aggressively what it really
changes the game of affiliate marketing
that whole game uh what happens then
right could that be in a year or two or
three California's got some new
legislation coming out in January that's
big it's a big deal for us so those are
the kinds of things I think about and
when you build a brand it doesn't matter
where where attention goes in the future
if people know you like you and trust
you they'll look they'll seek you out
but don't believe me on tick-tock so I'm
definitely not there Tomer David can I
create authority website without being
in the front outsource the content so
that's a great question now it's really
difficult to outsource great content
when you're not kind of on top on the
game right so it is possible but it's
often extremely expensive so pro
blogger.com has a job board and things
like jobs dot problogger comm and you
can find experts who are also great
writers but you're probably gonna pay
$400 blog post
big like $700,000 of blog post right and
that's just the game at that level so
what could you do Tomer and one of the
great models here when you're like I'm
not an expert but I want to go in that
direction you can interview all of the
experts you could start a podcast and a
video channel and what happens two
things happen number one you get some
leverage of association when you start
interviewing all of the experts let's
say you love racing drums and you just
think quad copters and drone racing is
the coolest thing ever and you watch it
and you watch people stream it and you
you want you like want to go to the
Grand Prix whatever you want to see the
biggest race of the year so what have
you started interviewing the drone
manufacturers the guy who invited
invented the tiny loops what if you
start inventing or what if you start
interviewing the drone racers and what
have you start doing and you're creating
content but you're creating it from the
standpoint of I'm a reporter who's

interviewing other people I mean the POG
the whole podcast world look at Joe
Rogan right like Joe Rogan was the dude
he was like Fear Factor dude he was like
crawl in that coffin full of cockroaches
how long can you land
how long have you stood there right
though and then he was like the the MMA
guy and now he's interview he's got
probably like the most coherent
interviews of presidential candidates
for the 2020 presidential race it's
absurd and what did he do he just been
interviewing people
he's just been asked he's curious and we
listened his podcast you get it he
really is genuinely curious and he does
shows on all kinds of like alternate
history stuff like the alternate history
of Egypt and the alternate history of
humans and like I think he got really
high and really into the Discovery
Channel for a while and he's just
following that curiosity and he's
building relationships with the foremost
experts in all kinds of topics you know
very not not not just MMA at all because
he's just followed that curiosity and
and now he knows a lot and he's seen
this kind of an expert in this alt
history stuff just because he's followed
that passion I think he's more of an
expert in the MMA so he was a fighter he
wasn't a great
fighter he's trained in martial arts all
his life he is so well known in the MMA
world he's I believe part owner of the
on it company
he's got Bret like he is he's an expert
in MMA and he ain't a fighter right he
isn't in the ring but he's just
interviewed everyone so it's that kind
of an ethic that's one of the great ways
for you to go in I recommend finding a
niche that's outside of the internet
marketing to make money online space
because we actually play this is a very
small world and there's a lot of people
trying to get in here there's a lot of
people using that that method here but
if you get out in the other spaces the
eSports the the e game competitive egay
mning world those are the spaces where
the number of competitors goes down
drastically so the opportunity for you
to grow more quickly goes up and those
competitors that are there aren't
usually able to optimize as well as you
might be because you get this stuff and
my comments just jumped oh we got all
kinds I'm gonna turn up the heat here

talking about affiliate marketing but
what if you're doing a shop say sell
parandham and mugs for example what can
you do in terms of getting authority
site or write about and blog post so
there's the mug right it serves a
utility it's like why do people buy mug
so I got a mug look at my mug well you
think my mug
do you like my mug I am a fan of my mug
and I my throat Cote in it I actually
like unique kind of handcrafted artisan
mugs I like handcrafted stuff I like
supporting creators is one of the things
I like so why are people buying your
mugs and who are they and what else are
they gonna get what else do they want
what does that mug actually say what
like so are you doing like cat joke mugs
right like is that your thing well maybe
a cat joke site could be it may be there
you could create an audience around that
so it does require thinking a little bit
more about the audience than the product
you lead with this is the thing I sell
and like that's cool who are you being
of service do what are they trying to
accomplish in their life what do they
want what are their fears what are the
goals what are their desires and how can
you help them accomplish that with what
you have and
or because those same people who buy
your mugs are gonna buy a lots of other
things online for a variety of reasons
when you understand that about them you
know the types of content you would
create you know what you could become an
authority of to really get going so an
interesting example young cat he was
from he's from Detroit where was he from
so he decided he was gonna he was gonna
go into the the sewing niche sewing and
knitting and I think he's I think he's
got a fan page like I love knitting or
something and he sells print-on-demand
shirts they're like I'd rather be
knitting and he got a big group of
grandmas who love him and he at first he
hid behind it and it was just it was
just a affiliate thing it was just kind
of a like thing and then he actually
started to come out really look I'm just
here to be of service to you tea ladies
and they love him and has really grown
into something not I think he's dropped
shipping like selling machines and man
selling machines can be Bank so he's got
it's it's really gone from kind of just
gathering a group of people interested
in knitting selling them like shirts
another stick to like I think he's
making his own products in China and
fulfilled like he's now offering his own
line of stuff and that's what a lot of
brands do is the gary vaynerchuck
selling shoes type idea right and I
think if a Gary Vaynerchuk created it
but a marketing platform or software
tool or kind of like what neil patel is
doing a lot of i think gary vaynerchuck
would crush it right if if gary
vaynerchuk created a platform for
influencer marketing for influence our
outreach type stuff because he's big in
that world or even if he just bought one
uh his whole audience would go use it
right why because he knows that he
teaches at all time they're really into
that if he but he doesn't want to do
that which is totally cool but that's
just kind of the idea and us says hello
i have my own website in my opinion what
makes it challenging to get a high
customer traffic as a starter i mean
it's the volume of content required to
get over the threshold so you need to
prove to Google that you're real that
you have great content you need to prove
the users that your contents clickable
or your title your description etc then
you need to have great content that
proves to them that they can trust you
that they like you there's all kinds of
little moving pieces in that there and
then you need to do it hundreds of times
right so my channel didn't really start
growing here on YouTube so about 250
posts
videos my wife's website you know we
spent we did nothing but crank out
content for like three years before it
really started to grow five hundred four
hundred posts you've got about a
thousand post we've we've deleted a lot
of posts we've merged a lot of posts
over the years she's got about a
thousand posts on her website right now
and there's a direct correlation to how
many videos I publish and how much how
much traction I've got here on YouTube
same with blogging and and they can't
just be crappy posts like they have to
be good they have to be deep good
helpful because every person searching
is really trying to solve that problem
right even if they're searching for
what's the best electric shock collar
for my dog should we be shocking dogs
y'all I don't care whatever well it's it
you know when they're searching that
like you can't just put up rubbish
content they expect quality content
we've all gone to review sites you open
it you're like they put zero time in on
this back right I'd rather go soar
through Amazon reviews myself I know
you've seen it so don't put out that
kind of content that's what one of the
goofy things that happens is you know
each and every one of us as a user we
know we expect we deserve quality
content but then a lot of people get
started in the world of internet
marketing and they start publishing
rubbish content and it's like you would
never click on that yourself why are you
publishing it nobody's gonna click on
that so it's it's a thousand epically
great posts or 300 really really really
good deep dive fantastic super helpful
posts that actually answer the question
the user is searching better than anyone
else in the world that's a really
difficult to do so Daniel says how much
traffic should you have roughly as a
goal or a green light to start becoming
an authority with email lists so on my
youtube channel cuz I went all-in on
YouTube right so I was getting I think I
was upwards of the four to five thousand
subscribers mark and I waited a lot
longer than I needed to I would say if
you're doing a blog if you're getting a
hundred visits a day to your blog posts
and you're showing a pop-up to offer an
opt-in you could see you you would
expect one two three subscribers a day
which means your list would grow from 30
to 90 subscribers per month depending on
that offer so when you get in that 100
range you can start to think about it
you maybe start planning what is your
opt-in report what is your pop-up going
to be at that point when you're getting
like 500 and
thousand visits per day that's when you
would expect you know like a 1% to 3%
conversion rate
that's when the numbers start really
stack up your list is gonna grow by
three hundred five hundred nine hundred
people a month and then email marketing
really ramped up at that point in time
um I'm just going down we got the
Philippines in the house
awesome I'm thinking that we did in the
thank yous were on the Thanksgiving

dives podcasts are climbing up up up up
up I think it's the I call it the the
mom challenge even though it's a

that's the reaction from the kid so what
can mom do is headphones in phone in the
pocket cleaning doing this at the other
and they look busy and making kind of go
through it also people with commuting

hours with podcasts more whether it's on
something like a Google home when Alexa
or on their phone itself so I think
podcasts are great and people want to
hear people love listen to conversations
I don't know if you watch comedians in
cars getting coffee so Jerry Seinfeld
sold that show plus the rights for the
future shows plus two specials for over
a hundred million dollars damn sorry
that probably sounded horrible because
I'm like Sarah hundred million dollars
for a show he did cuz he was bored
what so and and in that show once he was
like expressing how mind-boggling it was
for him that people wanted to listen to
his conversations and we do like
listening to conversations I think
