in this video I'm going to be sharing
with you some ideas on how to go about
choosing a niche market for your amazon
a free website as well as how to do a
little bit of keyword research to find
out whether that market is indeed worth
it so let's get going

this video has come about after my
current series that's hopefully a lot of
you are watching which is all about
creating an Amazon affiliate website and
promoting it and all that sort of stuff
now the one thing that I forgot to do
when I was creating that initial video
on how to build the website and wants to
talk about actually choosing the market
that you want to be and I kind of jumped
into a market there zombie one if you
remember and I just said you know going
through the market and off you go and I
didn't really give any advice on how you
you should go into their markets you
know what the best way to approach it
how to research how much competition
there is and all that sort of stuff so
basically that's what this video is for
I'm going to drop it in the playlist and
towards the beginning because really you
should probably watch this before you
even register a domain name or whatever
in terms of setting up your website so
in this video we're going to be covering
looking on Amazon to choose the best
products etc and the best color niche
and then I'm going to do a little bit on
keyword research using some free tools
so that you can find out if people are
actually searching for those products
the kind of keywords they're using and
the sort of competition around it now
also if you look around on YouTube and
on Google in general I do a search for
you know choosing an Amazon affiliate
niche there is loads of good stuff on
this topic so don't just rely on what I
have to say have a look around and I'm
sure you'll find some great ideas now

okay so I'm over at amazon.com obviously
I could be on credit UK or wherever but
it depends on up see where you're going
to target your Amazon affiliate website
and if this example is calm because
it'll probably apply to the majority of
people watching this so now we just need
to kind of have a click around start to
get some ideas in terms of the market
that we're going to go into there's a
few things that you want to keep in mind
before you start exploring Amazon
the first thing is if you're going to be
writing the content yourself for your
website then you probably want to pick a
topic that you have at least some sort
of interesting because you'll find it
easier to be inspired to create some
great content if you pick something
you're interested in it's going to be a
lot more tricky however if you're going
to outsource the content creation as
I've shown in previous videos ample you
go over to Fiverr or whatever and you
get someone else to write some articles
for you then that probably doesn't
matter quite so much the second thing
you want to keep in mind is the value of
the items that you're going to be
featuring on your website now in my
example on the zombie website see the
value of the items is quite low and on
my boutique website again the value of
the items isn't great I mean a pair of
boots is okay because sometimes they're
up to a hundred pounds but on the zombie
site there's nothing really of that
value so you know you need to think of
things that might be quite expensive and
maybe going for them I don't see the
reason this is because items have a
higher value and will pay you more
Commission simple as that you have to
sell less and you'll make more simple as
that so with those two things in mind I
don't really care whether I'm into it or
not because I'm just going to pay
someone to create the content anyway and
in this example whatever we research may
or may not turn into a real website I
just want to kind of give you some ideas
so let's go in to Amazon let's not have
a look around so you've got all the
departments and things down here and
these are kind of the top level
departments and as you probably know in
Amazon you can actually dig quite deep
into these various departments so here's
the top level things I like a couple of
these areas in terms of finding some
good high value stuff say sports and
outdoors is always a good one know
you've got exercise equipment and all
cycling camping hiking loads of stuff
that's of a good good value and also a
lot stuff that you can write content
about so that's always good on we might
have a look at there in a second the
home and garden is also a good one again
you can cut this down into lots of
things but it could be power tools it
could be you know kitchen and bath stuff
loads of hardware heavy weight equipment
again you'll be able to find some stuff
that's sort of good value and but let's
go for the sports
and let's kind of go down a little bit
further into these categories so let's
look at exercise and fitness to start
with so you can see here that there's
some things coming up and as we see like
the equipment here is that's got a good
value on it so what do you might want to
do at this point it starts a filter by
price so in these boxes here I'm going
to go for $100 up to well up to $1,000
you know or more up to $10,000 under
what is on Amazon for $10,000 not sure
so it's give me some ideas here like the
Fitbit has come up so that might be a
niche you know fitness trackers could be
an interesting one and I'm going to do a
few other things in a minute to kind of
help us identify which ones are a good
good one to go for because obviously not
only it's not only the price that
applies also depends on whether there is
a reasonable size market in terms of
people searching and what the
competition's like so but yeah Fitbit is
an idea in terms of fitness trackers
treadmills is another one that could be
good and maybe bikes as well yeah I'm
quite interested in the bikes I think
all the treadmills because they're going
to be of a good value so let's let's
drill down a little bit further into
exercise machine okay oh I've gone in
two parts that's not what I want let's
go back up I want let's go for I'll see
bikes there like I see cardio training
which I'd imagine a bike would be in or
a treadmill
so there we go
vibration platform machines that could
be interesting - it's going to vibration
platform machines because that's quite a
niche area and again they've got a good
value
so vibration we are these do look quite
nice don't they it's quite a good range
of different products and some of them
are quite expensive so I think well
let's go for vibration platform machines
which we found interesting so let's do
the next step and that is to do some
keyword research I'm going to use the
Google AdWords tool which is a free tool
and they're obviously premium tools
available to help you do keyword
research but this will generally do
combined with a few other bits pubs will
do what you need need it to do you will
of course need a Google AdWords account
to access it but you don't necessarily
have to run any ads just create the
account I don't if you have to add
payment details probably not and then
you'll get access to the keyword tool
which you'll find funnily enough under
tools and the keyword planner so that's
going to load up ok and then we can add
some phrases in here and we can set our
targeting so I'm going to target United
States for now but also you'd set your
country to whatever you want let's just
type in a few things so I'm just going
to type in a few keywords that spring to
mind
home vibration platform so it will
suggest some other ideas well so we've
got a vibration fitness machine that's
pretty enough to start with let's click
get ideas and it's going to come back
with some suggestions you want to click
on this tab here to get the actual
keyword ideas now we can see that these
are the exact times I typed in so
vibration machine is often the most
popular 2900 searches but very high
competition on Adwords if we scroll down
it will give us some suggestion again
based on relevance but we can sort it by
a number of free searches
but then it obviously does become a
little bit broader
okay so there's some good keywords
coming up here generally you're going to
want to go for keywords that are more
than free words because it's going to be
very very difficult to rank an Amazon
affiliate site for something like fits
equipment if not impossible and so
you're gonna be looking for the longer
tail stuff and hopefully you can attract
with articles so things like best
vibration platform machine that sort of
thing full-body vibration machine power
plate reviews and maybe with an extra
word or two whole body vibration machine
reviews that sort of thing is perfect so
let's just select a couple of these and
to do a few further tests on in terms of
research so anything it's got a few
words in a reasonable level of search
I'm going to add over to this keyword
plan here and like all these though the
every search is not maybe it's because
you'd want a couple of thousand
generally but you know what we'll keep
going
okay so I'm now going to download these
just as an excel file save that file
there's our keywords what I'm going to
do those queue is I'm just going to copy
them
and I'm now going to open a another tool
which is called SEM rush again you can
get free access there is a premium
version which I'm just using the free
one but I think if you register you'll
get at least a day's work for free stuff
so that's be enough to get you going
and there are there is still quite a lot
of stuff you can do for free anyway I'm
now going to go into keyword analytics
and I'm going to go to keyword
difficulty I could just paste these
things in here
click show difficulty and it gives it to
us as a percentage so um you know
anything above 75 is probably going to
be tricky for you to rank for to be fair
so obviously the lower the better and
the higher search volume is also good so
this whole body vibration machine sounds
quite good that might be a way to do it
but let's expand that t-that keyword out
a little bit and again I'm going to use
another tool now it's all called
ubersuggest
dot IO I think no let me go to it sure
it was that there's this one which is
the old one I like the new one
personally let's just go for it you can
there's a link try the new one so if I
enter that keyword it will give me some
other ideas based on real searches again
so that's pretty good so this is giving
us some great ideas for content so you
know top 10 whole body vibration machine
that sounds interesting you know whole
body vibration machine results again
interesting so that's an idea for an
article for your vibration machine
affiliate website and show some results
of what actually happens top 10 I like
that one that it's also being quite
specific which is interesting as well
again ideas for content
like all these kind of terms because
these are great for articles look
accessories weight loss as an Amazon
they're brands all of these would be
great ideas for content for the whole
body vibration machine type thing that
benefits crazy I'm just going to just
take a few of these now I'm going to put
them back ok so viewers text nope that's
not what I want keyword selected viewers
text there we go I was going to copy put
these in this tool again the SEM
restroom and yeah not a huge amount of
volume on any of those terms comparison
ones got quite a low low difficulty
percentage so that would be quite a good
one but not a huge amount of searches
unfortunately basically this whole body
vibration machine sounds pretty good in
terms of as of a niche in terms of high
value goods and also opportunities for
content and weight and waste of rank on
the longtail so people looking for
advice and accessories and does it work
and is it safe and what kind of stuff
which gives you great ideas for content
so now if you haven't already got a
domain name this is a great opportunity
to start looking for a domain name that
actually contains some of the keywords
in it now Google does give a little bit
of weight used to give a lot of weight
maybe not so much nowadays to the
keywords in a domain name so from but if
you've got whole body vibration machine
com2 good chance that you'll rank for
whole body vibration machine so let's go
over to GoDaddy and have a quick search
for some domains
Oh body vibration a body vibration
machine and let's have a look so there's
a few coming up that one's gone
obviously they want clothes ready for
that so let's ignore that but there's
quite a few lots of different extensions
and so you might want to add another
word whole body vibration machine guide
comm is available again gets the keyword
in there you'd go some like the best
vibration machines so there's loads
ground I mean the best fly ratio
machines but it's probably quite a good
term let's just go back and pop it in
here or so what was it it was the best
vibration machines yep all my spelling
not a lot on that one not a great domain
okay I think I'm going to go back with
that best one I put it into here just to
see what we find
so best body vibration machines maybe
that's what we need
let's try that one in here it's not in
the Google database according to that I
wonder if that is true let's go back to
Google and just see what Google gives us
on that one oh yeah
it's very small seems that the whole
body is definitely the way that people
are searching on this one so you need to
include that our body vibration so I'm
going to our body vibration is got like
a volume quite high difficulty see
that's quite reasonable it's got 320 and
again you you're not only gonna
obviously rank for that one keyword you
get a rank for a lot of keywords and if
they've all got you know a reasonable
volume it will add up to a nice nice
amount of traffic mmm vibration machine
reviews might be a good one again yeah
that's not too bad got quite a
reasonable difficulty let's go back to
verse just so basically what I think the
message here is you're just going to
need to go back and forth
do your research I mean maybe the
vibration machines is going to be too
competitive and there's too many other
Amazon affiliates on it if it will just
do a quick search of it and see who
comes up
yeah so I think I my best whole body
vibration machines is probably would be
a good domain if you can get that
without anything else that's obviously
good and I really don't think the
extension matters too much you know comm
is I've seen nice if you can get it full
body vibration machines comm is
available which is not whole body but
it's kind of a cinnamon let's see if
there's a difference with that word
change it's quite a nice sounding domain
now people do tend to search for the
hole but I think you know Google would
still give you credit for that because
full hole same difference
I hope body vibration machines don't
info that would be a good one it's not
hard to rank your info and if you're
adding you know content which is full
information then you know why not have
done info so yeah that it gives you good
food for fort let me just do a google
search our body vibration machine
now when you go to SEM rush you get a
little tool in your VD browser which you
can just turn on here under options
that's the one and what that does is add
some extra stuff to Google so you get an
idea of you know the sites that ranking
for example this Mayo Clinic which i
think is a very very big kind of company
there a clinic there dumble one and you
can see why they've got you know 56,000
indexed pages loads of links well you're
never going to outrank them but what I'm
looking for and this is a health and
safety people in government that's
always going to rank well for me I
scroll down there's Amazon there see a
video on YouTube that's interesting
which is a video about a machine let's
see any affiliate sites coming up on
that one let's go for reviews so see
that's a great way to add content and if
you tell with my spell things probably
grammar to add content is to add reviews
about certain things as well as
obviously the Amazon reviews that you'll
get on your site you want to add some
something unique and you know reviewing
the top ten vibration routines is a
great way of doing it so let's just go
through here see if I can see any and
then what is this one here this looks
interesting my god
that looks like its website from the 90s
and there so that's ranking well and
it's not particularly great supply me
not seeing any Amazon affiliate websites
right now what's this one fit day again
this doesn't look it's got a lot of
Adsense this one this is an Adsense type
site why lack of it so I mean there may
be an opportunity they operating
exciting that's another idea for a
keyword so I think there's an
opportunity to or where we go that my
break and plate reviews I bet this one
is an Amazon affiliate type website oh
yeah it is there we go
they went from vibration plate reviews I
wonder why let's have a look in here not
a huge volume and the difficulties of
75% of these managed to rank if we just
have a look at his website it hasn't got
any page rank that error on that let's
see if that it's going to come from nope
not an amazing amounts of links I think
probably just got a strong domain but
you know is that ranking African Post
and stuff like that so that's quite
interesting to see anyway I hope that's
been useful in terms of trying to choose
a niche it's basically if I was looking
around trying to find the right kind of
keywords registering a great domain name
and noting down some ideas for content
while you're doing it so all these
keyword suggestions and things that come
up a plate reviews or whatever you see
you know they're going to be great ideas
for content that you can then even write
yourself you can send off to your
content producers to to create something
up for you I hope that's been useful if
