excuse the croaky voice and the odd
cough here and there I'm just getting
over some man flu but despite that I
thought I would put together a quick
video on just how we're getting on with
the zombie Merc affiliate website so
let's go through some of the figures the
is getting a reasonable amount now from
organic search which is good and that's
growing slowly let's say the directory
submissions that I did in a previous
video they've all been completed so
there's quite a few links now pointing
to the site from all those directories
just got obviously wait for Google to
index all those and hopefully get a
little bit of link juice from them
unfortunately still no sales as yet but
yeah I'm not too despondent about that I
think they will come eventually and
based on my last video which was all
about researching the market I have
actually done a little bit of research
which is pretty what I should have done
before I created the website on the
zombie market and I have noticed a
couple of areas that I might be able to
do quite well in for example there's
quite a lot of searches for plants vs
zombies toys and associated things so I
think what I'm going to do after I
finish all in this video is get some
content created around those areas and
to see if I can rank for that now
talking of ranking I just wanted to talk
about SEO just for a minute now SEO is
also going to be a big part of your
Amazon affiliate website and when we
talk about SEO there are two sides
there's the white hat SEO which is most
of stuff that I've been talking about
maybe the directories are a slight gray
area but I'd say they're generally white
hat and white hat means that you're
doing everything that Google agree with
and you're building links naturally to
your site you know by using social media
and creating content and all that kind
of stuff
now black hat SEO is when you are
deliberately trying to manipulate Google
to rank your website and you're kind of
breaking their rules one way of doing
this is to build links to your site
artificially and there are a number of
ways that you can do that and I'm not
gonna go through them all in this video
but one way that you can build some
links quite quickly in a black hat sort
of way is to buy up some
expired domain names which have already
got some links pointing to them and for
whatever reason the webmaster or owner
of that domain name has decided to let
it expire or whatever and you can own
opps you pick that domain name up
register it and then Eve build a site to
your you know around that domain name
and then build links on that site to
your money site your Amazon affiliate
site or if you're going to be lazy which
I am at the moment you could just
redirect that domain on to your main
domain so you know all those links that
are pointing to that the main thing get
redirected onto your money site so
that's what I've done for the zombie
website this week I've purchased a
couple of domains I went to do website
expired domains net which looks like
this and you can kind of look around and
search for domains based on keyword and
then you can check out how many links
and stuff they've got coming to them
their old PageRank Google Pagerank which
I wouldn't worry about too much because
that's not been updated for quite a
while and it gives you a few other
metrics as well to help you make a
decision once you have chosen a domain I
would recommend that you then go over to
open site Explorer that's right by mods
and put the drain in there and just
double check again all the links and the
spam score especially and just to make
sure that the main hasn't been used for
anything dodgy in the past and has been
you know blacklisted by Google or
whatever something that would then do
more harm than good
so yeah that's what I've done and then
you also just set up the redirects with
your domain registrar and just get them
to forward everything onto your new site
so I've done that and we'll wait and see
what happens
it could hopefully bring some extra rank
to the site or it'll kill it completely
so that kind of technique I would say
use with caution
and anything that I say is a bit black
cat or a bit iffy again you might want
to just you know double think it and
make sure that you you do want to do
that and you know you won't be upset if
your website for whatever reason gets
you know dings indexed law gives a black
mark against it that kind of thing so
you will see how that gets on and
hopefully ya get some more traffic
coming in okay I hope that video was

little update and to tell you what I'm
up to I've still be adding articles to
the zombie Merrik site and all that kind
of stuff and then I think I'm gonna wait
there maybe a couple of weeks now until
I do the next video because I think it
just needs a bit of time and I need to
just do a bit more work on it to try and
get it going
