Gravity Forms for Wordpress Walk Through and Review #Best Education Page #Online Earning

hello Alex here from WP eagle comm and

today I'm gonna do a quick review of the

excellent gravity forms plugin which I

use all the time as the name suggests

it's a forms plugin it is a premium

plugin so you just pay for it but I

found it very worth the money great

value in fact and so what I'm going to

do is I'm going to fire up the plugin

now and we'll add a form to the test

website and you can have a look at some

of the features and functionality and

I'll talk you through it

okay so I'm logged in to the test site

and I've got the plug-in installed and

once you installed it you get a section

that's called forms where you can do

everything with all your new forms or

whatever so we have got new forms just

yet so let's create one and then we'll

add it to a page and see what happens so

gonna click here to create it I need to

give it a name I'm just gonna call it a

contact form

it's just giving me a general contact

form and let's just say it's a general

contact form okay click the button and

that should create the form okay and

here we are now we can start adding the

fields to our form so the great thing

about gravity forms is it comes with

loads of built-in fields ready for you

to use things like name and date and

phone numbers websites email all common

stuff that you're gonna need for a form

but it's also got some more

sophisticated fields like the capture if

you use Google's capture service if

you've got a spam kind of problem you

can add any capture very easy to do but

it can also do some real clever stuff

like you can create posts from a from a

forum so when someone enters some

information and click Submit it creates

a wordpress post for you you know that's

a useful feature if you need it and you

can have pricing filled so you can have

a kind of order form set up if you're

selling products or whatever and you

can't integrate it with the WooCommerce

plug-in which is an e-commerce plugin to

take that a little bit further so it's

kind of as it comes it's got lots of

built in features but we're gonna do is

just create a simple form so I'm gonna

add to add it's that name so we do is

just click on the fields

then it adds them I think I'd like that

twice so to delete one just go over and

there's a little cross so it's all kind

of drag-and-drop to make the form which

is really good so let's add that let's

add address email phone then just any

kind of basic you know message box at

the bottom so that would just be a

paragraph text you see here these are

just the kind of standard fields so

let's just add that and then what we'll

do is we'll go for each field and and

customize it so you can see the kind of

features you get so the general name

field is here you can have it as a name

with first name last name or you can

just have simple or it just has one box

for name like that or go even further

and have extended where it asked for all

sorts of information you can have and it

applies all the fields you can say if

it's a required field you know then it

has a little star and then in advanced

settings you can change the label in the

admin you can have a validation message

and apply different CSS passes loads and

loads of stuff another great feature

which we'll see here is the conditional

logic basically what this means is that

you can change the form depending on the

entries that people put in so for

example if you have a look you know show

this field if email is and then you can

say value and or phone number it so it

allows you to have a kind of dynamic

form that changes as people fill it in

which I found useful for a couple of

clients so let's have a look at the

address again you can there's a number

of different options depending on

country as it changes and the fields you

can set whether it's required a default

state okay email again you can have an

email confirmation that means people

have to type it in twice so that you

know they don't mess up their email

address and usual thing you know you can

make it required phone number you can

have it in and I think that's the

American format or you can change it to

international and then they can have it

you know whatever format you want and

the message box at the bottom that's we

need to obviously call that and so like

your message

we never got your message and you can

set whether respects from characters of

whatever so let's say 300 and required

let's add a description and as a message

and that should be displayed on the

forum - okay I think we're done with

with setting up our forum so let's click

update form over here okay so before we

add it to the page I'm just going to go

for a couple of settings so in here

there's a lot of different things so you

can change you know the button so Mona

submit but you know we could change that

to send message again you can have

conditional logic on that which is

pretty cool and you can decide where the

labels are any restrictions some spam

stuff okay oh we didn't save so let's

just go down to the bottom and click

update

okay so confirmations this is basically

the message that's shown when you when

some fills in the form so you know

thanks for contacting us but you can

also set it to go to a page on the

website or you can just redirect it to a

URL of wherever you want so if you you

know need to do some tracking or send to

a thank-you page or a download page or

whatever you want you know it's very

easy to do and then the final section

here is the notifications which are the

emails that are sent out so by default

it sends it to an admin and but you can

add as many different education as you

want and these can be based on

conditional logic as well so you know

you can say if the phone number is a

certain value then send it to this

person or whatever within here obviously

you can customize the message that gets

sent out and you can drop in all of the

information from the forum as you want

to lay it out however your template

needs it and obviously it can be dropped

into all these other fields as well in

terms of notification emails so the

final thing we've got to do is just so

that you can have a look at the form at

the front so we need to add it to a page

so I'm going to go to the front of the

website which is here and we've got

trusty page a which will be a good place

to put form so you're just going to edit

page as you would

and it's added a nice button there it

says add form so I'm just going to get

rid of the news ticket which was from a

previous video click add form and we

want the contact form ooh some reason

these tick boxes have got a bit weird

hmm

hey yo maybe it's just my my WordPress

installation but there's some tick boxes

here so you can basically display the

form title display the description let's

tickle these and you can enable ax so

let's click insert and it's basically

just a shortcode that it drops in lets

click update and hopefully if we view

the page our form should be there and

here it is in all its glory so in

summary I hope you found that walk

through a useful I really love gravity

forms I highly recommend buying it I'll
