Hide Your WordPress site Until It's Ready (Maintenance Mode) #Best Education Page #Online Earning

video what I'm going to be doing is

showing you how to hide your website

when you're working on it so maybe

you've seen one of my videos on how to

set up a website and you're working away

on the website but you don't want people

to look at the website until it's you

know perfect and finished so the best

way to approach this is to set up a

maintenance mode page it's basically

just a page that's shown to logged out

visitors that just looks nice and says

you know the site is under construction

or sites down for maintenance and gives

them a way of contacting you

etc etc so let's have a look at the site

that I'm going to be working on it's the

2015 demo which I recently set up you

can find a video on that on my channel

if you take a look and what I'm going to

do is I'm going to log in and then I'm

going to install a plugin so let's get

started by logging in so you need to

obviously log into your website and then

what we're going to do is go over to

plugins and then add new plug-in then in

the search box over here I'm going to

type in WP main tenants you'd have to

say like that and the one I want is this

one which is called WP maintenance mode

funnily enough so if we click install

now it's going to download that and then

install it for you all automatically so

then we need to click activate

okay so now what we need to do is set it

up and you'll find the settings down in

settings and WP maintenance mode so what

I'm going to do is I'm going to turn it

on a bypass for search box we're going

to say that to know I don't know wave on

turn it on if your site's not finished

this allow allows you to set who's able

to access so maybe you have some editors

as well setup that you want to access

but by default administrator will be

fine and the rest is probably all fine

you can have a dashboard link if you

like that might be nice let's click Save

Settings the next page is the design so

this is what it actually says on your

site so the title is the tag that

appears in the very top of the browser

in the up here in the tab the heading is

maintenance right let's change that to

will be back soon now you could put some

blurb in here blah blah blah blah that's

fine and you can choose a background and

you can upload a background or you can

select a color I'm just going to leave

it with a color for now then modules and

you can have a countdown let's have a

countdown that'd be nice and you can

have a subscribe button so that you

collect email addresses you can show

some social networks so like a Facebook

I don't I'm just going to type in your

Facebook addressing haven't got any to

hand so I'm just going to type in some

gibberish you can have an email address

which is fine pretty much as soon and

you can install your Google Analytics if

you want so let's click Save Settings

obviously to view this we need to log

out so I'm going to log out the site now

and then go back to the web site and

there is our maintenance page with its

countdown an email and a social media so

you can play around with the colors you

can add a background and make it look

really nice and then when you're

finished you want to turn it off again

you don't see log back in

and go back in and turn it off I think I

should have a link here now because I

selected the option but oh yeah there's

this link here so I can click the

activate get rate and then that's done

so that would be turned off now and the

sites back up as it was that was nice

short and sweet video wasn't it so I
