How To Find Your Target Audience On Facebook Ads (For FREE)


hey what is up this is Tyler Pratt in
this video I want to talk to you about
how to find your target audience for
your Facebook ads like a total boss
alright so you wanted to find target
audience for your Facebook ads if you if
you run a Facebook ads if you're not
wearing facebook ads you should totally
do it if you're ready to become a total
boss rated to get out of that job and
start doing things online for yourself
this is the place to do that now before

you succeed online and help you become a
total boss with your business okay so
finding facebook to target audience for
facebook ads so it's when if you haven't
done Facebook Ads if you haven't really
set that up the one thing they're gonna
ask you is who do you want to target who
do you you know you can't just target
everybody on Facebook that'd be crazy
you you want to target a specific group
okay so figure out what your niche is
and then from there you what you can do
is you can branch out and find out who
you can really target okay and it could
be a lot of different areas to do it
could be men it could be women it could
be you know it could be women a single
man it could be single women it could be
women who just had a baby you could be
you know men who in women who just got
divorced I mean there's all kinds of
different scenarios for your target
audience okay and one of these audience
may not you know may not be better than
the other so there's a few ways you can
go about doing this I want to show you
just really common-sense ways well you
know better ways than just go on if you
go out there and probably you know pay
for services do that but you don't
really need to do that you can just use
Facebook alone to do that but when you
go into Facebook ads they're gonna say
okay what is what's your interests who
are you gonna target okay who do you
want to really want to target down to
and what I spit what I want everybody to
do when they do Facebook ads is number
one you do only a fate a five dollar
Facebook ad but you only do one interest
okay you don't want to do a bunch of
different interests with five dollars
it's not going to really help out if you
want to do a lot of interests that do
individual interests
you know with five-hour ads so you do
like one interest by our ads another
interest with another $5 ads and so on
you don't want to group them together
into one giant big thing because if you
do if you jump if you'd lump a ton of
targets together then like maybe one
tenth of them are bringing you all the
the revenue and then the other is
three-fourths are actually draining your
accounts okay so you you want to figure
out which ones are working and which
ones aren't now when you are able to
target interests the main thing that you
could target online is usually people
that like fan pages you can like you
could target people that have specific
things in their you know in their you
know like in their bio like if people
say they like you know or if people say
they're single right that's gonna be
something you could target if people say
that they just got married this that's
something that you could target if if
they've liked a certain pages Facebook
is kind of going to target them into a
certain group so if somebody really
likes a lot of so let's say a woman
there you know women out there and they
like a lot of fitness type people
they're gonna kind of lump them into a
fitness type category okay but the one
thing that I like to target the most
they're going to be you know thought
leaders or individual people that have
very big fan pages so when you're going
out there and you find in target
audience for Facebook Ads go find big
pages for the people that are in your
target target audience so let's just
take example for the fitness and
nutrition industry Jillian Michaels is a
female fitness guru type person she's
all over the the you know Internet she's
all over TV she has her own infomercial
she does incredibly well and she I think
she used to be the one of the trainers
on the the biggest The Biggest Loser
right the Biggest Loser TV show I think
she was one of the trainers on there but
she has her own big humongous fan page
of following so you would think that if
you're gonna be targeting people that
you know women who are into fitness that
she would be a
target to go after okay you could
actually put a five-dollar ad in front
of the people that liked her page now
here's the important thing with finding
your target audience and you go and find
fan pages that are gonna be a good
target is you want to go to the fan page
first and then what you want to do is
you want to start digging through the
post on the fan page and you want to see
how active the people are on that fan
page if you go to a fan page and they're
very active and they're just your
comment and their liking and all posts
are really engaging and they go viral
that's a very good fan page it's a very
good target if you go to a fan page and
somebody has three million fans but you
see that in the in the comments and the
likes that the posts aren't very
engaging so that means that it's kind of
there's a lot of fans but there's there
really not a lot of action on that fan
page it's probably not gonna be a very
good target okay you won't be able to
really get a lot of traction from that
and probably become spending way way too
much money on that target okay so look
at the the post and see if there people
are interacting see if people if there's
a lot of engagement if there is that's a
great one to start putting ads in front
of now the other thing you can do is you
can look at who is the more dominant
type of person on there like what is it
more female on that fan page is it more
male on that fan page and what you can
do is you can target specific just
female on that fan page okay so female
group on there if you can you know you
can have a hard time doing this but if
you see a lot of young females on there
then do you want to narrow your age
group down when you're doing your
interest if you see a man in there then
you want to target minute if you see men
that are older then you want to target
and order demographics of that fan page
okay so you just kind of you just gauge
it by looking at it and you can kind of
get an idea of you know what they're
posting about you can kind of get an
idea of what they're the engagement on
the post you can see what what type of
things that they're posting about if you
see a fan page let's say Jillian
Michaels to share the fan page and she
posts a lot of information about a
particular magazine
let's say it's a you know fitness let's
say it's Fitness Magazine right we're
Women's Health magazine let's just say
that she posts a lot of information of
Women's Health magazine well that would
be another target that you could do off
of her fan page so you can do Jillian
Michaels and if she's posting a lot of
health let's say let's say a magazine
that she's that she's targeting would be
women's fitness ok women's fitness is a
magazine and let's say that she's really
kind of pushed in that magazine you can
have you know a target interest for
Jillian Michaels and then you could have
another one another fight our ad for so
then you can see Julia Michaels with her
fan page and then you could see you know
the magazine that she's kind of going
after and you can do this with a lot of
different interests you could do this
with the guy that runs p90x you can do
this with the the other guy that does
insanity he is another big one in the
health and fitness industry and this
doesn't have to be to help the fitness
industry this could be self-improvement
so Tony Robbins would be a big fan page
you know you know Jim Rohn would be
another self development self type guru
you know marketing you know russell
brunson would be a great one for
marketing business marketing frank kern
all of these guys are going to be really
big for your fan pages but the porn
thing is you find the one fan page okay
and you dissect everything you can about
that one particular fan page okay too
many people they just go and they just
blank it let's just go and grab a bunch
of fan page and we'll put them together
and we'll see what happens no you want
to go inside of there and look at the
demographic so if you go into let's say
Tony Robbins fan page you might find
that it's mostly men in there maybe you
find - it's a mix or maybe you find this
mostly women or maybe you find that it's
an older crowd in there okay maybe it's
not a younger crowd and so those are the
demographics that you would want to
target and you could you could take one
fan page okay one fan page that could be
you like Tony Robbins really been like
Jillian Michaels and you could actually
dissect all kinds of interests just
alone on the one fan page because you
can see what she's promoting and then
you can see kind of who she has who
connects with you know see what was she
who else that she likes or who else's
she's interacting with okay what other
types of big figures and and then you
could you know do each of those
interests so what you do is you set up
Jillian Michaels one interest five
dollars and then you do five dollars for
health and then you know the the fitness
women's fitness magazine right that's
one thing she she covers and you would
do another interest for that you do
women for Jillian Michaels you do men
for Jillian Michaels another five
dollars then you would do women for
women's fitness you wouldn't do men
because men aren't gonna be what looking
at women's fitness okay but the same
thing is that maybe she's promoting you
know maybe she's promoting iron magazine
right or or Muscle & Fitness Magazine
that would be a great way for men you
could target that particular magazine
for men alright so that's how you really
find a target audience is just by
dissecting a big time gurus fan page see
who's on there see what the promoting
seething type engagement and when you do
that you'll see your target audience
okay and you can just grow from there
