Make Money, Making Websites - Be a Web Designer (sort of) #Best Education Page #Online Earning

wanted to make a quick video on how to

be a web designer developer type person

which is I guess what I would call

myself although I'm not strictly a

developer as yeah although I can work

myself around a little bit of code I've

never actually created any from scratch

I've never written a theme or a plug-in

or anything like that yeah I am still

able to create well what I think and

what my clients think are professional

great-looking business generating

websites so I guess that means that you

probably can - anyone can become a web

designer in this day and age because the

tools are available that you can pick up

and just start using and with a little

bit of time and a little bit of learning

and it is really only a little bit you

can start to put together some websites

obviously you can go and sell to clients

okay so maybe you've already learnt

WordPress and you're thinking but I need

some clients or Emily get clients from

and you'll find that actually in your

local area there's going to be

businesses crying out for a decent guy

to look after their website and help

them get up and running online and start

making things work for them where do you

meet these people have a look in your

local business papers or do a search on

Google there'll be some networking

events going on in your area

there'll be lunches breakfasts all those

kind of things sign up go along to them

doesn't matter if you've got any

business cards just say they're at the

printers let me take your card I'll send

you my details and just start getting

your name about and before you know it

there are people asking for websites but

how much do you charge well that's

really up to you I've been doing this

for a while and I still haven't got it

right you can charge what you think's

right and in my experience I find that

if you say a price and the client says

yeah that's fine it was probably too

cheap so keep going until the client

says we're some expensive or there maybe

you can you know shave it a little bit

often and they feel that they get a good

value and you've probably found the

right price and of course there's more

than just building websites there's that

lovely recurring revenue that you can

also get from being a web

developer designer creator implements a

person and that's on things like hosting

and support now I like to host all the

websites to my clients it's a lot easier

than using other hosting companies like

theirs or someone else's because all

there's possibility lies with you which

also means that if so it happens that

needs sorting out you have control over

all elements to the site to sort it out

and obviously you can also charge for

hosting on an annual basis which needs

renewing on an annual basis but I guess

you're thinking well I can't sell

hosting I've got no servers in my attic

loft area basement it doesn't matter I

recommend a company called TSO host

which you can find at TSO host calm and

on there they offer reseller hosting if

you're in the UK if you go to

hostgator.com in the US they also offer

a reseller hosting and if you sign up

for that you can then set up as many

accounts as you like for your clients

and then also charge for them whatever

you fancy I'll put some voucher codes

for those two providers in the

description if you're interested the

other way as I mentioned is with ongoing

support once the clients got a website

they're going to need help updating it

keeping it fresh and other bits and bobs

to keep it online including the very

important WordPress security updates

again you can charge a month for your

annual fee for this service so that

you're on call whenever they need you

it's recurring at revenue again every

month every year so once you've got a

client they keep paying you for the life

of that client it really is a great

business model so I hope that's

convinced you and you're thinking yeah I

need to learn WordPress and I'm gonna go
