hey Melanie here with miles Becker miles
Becker cop we have survived the first of
June a via our road trip absolutely so
in the last video I published it was
about the kind of process and the
nesting between the goals the strategies
and tactics and it was kind of how to
create anything how to accomplish any
goal one of the comments I keep getting
is about what they call tactic jumping
right they're going from one tactic to
the next to the next to the next and
they're not following through on any one
thing long enough to see the results
that they desire so I wanted to address
that first which we're going to cover
but if you have a question Melanie is on
chat right now so type in your question
and we can answer that here once we're
done with this little riff but the key
is you need to have one poor strategy
and that needs to be 100% of your focus
and you need to make sure like come hell
or high water that that one thing gets
done amazingly consistently over a long
period of time and really glad Melanie
is here because she started with a core
strategy of blogging on WordPress and
Melanie if you couldn't think back 10
years ago when you first started
blogging and I was like literally just
kind of say hey I can show you the
keywords and if you write content and
you win for it how long did it really
take you to feel like you were gaining
momentum and things were starting to
move forward without one core strategy
I mean in in some senses it immediately
felt like I was gaining momentum I guess
I felt like I was passionate about a
topic and you were kind of like if you
keep writing about this like this is
going to work as a long-term strategy
and so so I did and jumped in and
started creating content and then it
that was like 10 years ago so we also
then were started marketing that content
via Twitter and kind of felt like I
think the biggest thing for me was I
didn't have I didn't have these like
massive expectations like I need to have
a hundred so so an utter belief in the
time and then literally the act of doing
the work itself felt like the
accomplishment is what I'm hearing like
yeah like you did like you believed the
plan you knew it would work and then you
were willing to just go forth and that
applied over the course of years has
created a traffic machine that is
astounding the amount of like her
website is literally connected with over
30 million people that's like a small
country worth of people and they're all
interested in a very specific subset of
topics so and it definitely was a couple
a couple of years before like really
started making any or a decent amount of
toejam before we really started getting
to the thousand visitors a day the
toothy know that thirty fifty sixty
thousand visitors per year or month mark
took a while so then with my channel on
youtube I was just like all in on
YouTube that's just the one thing that I
do is YouTube and I went all in on it
and I stuck with it just non-stop going
full speed ahead for like a year now at
the end of six months I had like five
thousand subscribers and I had published
two hundred videos a lot of people are
like man that that's not really a great
reward ratio for the amount of work it
took but ultimately it compounded and
that's really what I wanted to kind of
get all the way to with this first RIF
is your core strategy needs to have the
ability to compound Facebook does not
give you a compounding return on your
results every new post needs to be
boosted and it has maybe a three-day
lifetime whereas every video that
Melanie and I put out to this day or
every blog post that Melanie and I put
out to this day has the potential of
generating traffic for years to come so
do all of the other ones right so my 537
videos I have live right now most of
those are connecting me to new people
even though I made him years ago just
like a lot of Melanie's blog posts she
wrote in 2014
2012 2015 17 they're still connecting
her brand with more people that's the
power of compounding so all the work she
did in oh nine compounds with worst-hit
in 2010 so that one strategy this back
to the tactic right that one tactic she
really went all-in on and lovely
mentioned Twitter because Twitter is
pretty much dead she does it that way
came and win just like Facebook organic
came and went but the blog has been that
core so what is your core strategy and
does that strategy ha
ability to give you compounding results
on what you're doing if not find the one
it is and it needs to come from within
I'm a talker I'm a performer
video is my medium for sure and Melanie
she's got agree can you hear a little
bit of a dual everything kind of a
person you're great on audio you're
great on video but you really did go
all-in on blogging first you didn't
really add the video machine on for like
years yeah so I didn't publish my first
video for three years but then I barely
dabbled in creating in your first
talking head video it was like almost
seven years six years right so it's just
at that depth of one thing long enough
to really push yourself as one of the
most consistent prophetic helpful people
in that world whether it's the
blogosphere the YouTube Oh sphere or the
podcast Oh sphere that's really the key
so at this point we're gonna jump to
some of the questions and we're gonna
answer Melanie has those here if you
have a question for Melanie just like
randomly picked them 100% randomly
picked them you can kind of just cut
through and if any of them really piqued
your interest
probably best to throw one out first to
get us rolling driving across the
country you date before 4th of July but
the crazy drivers they're actually out
and so
you are in the US and you'll be
traveling for fourth of July July we
can't stay take it slow and stay aware
because everyone else is like already
sitting on the boat or around the
campfire or shooting off fireworks
they're not actually in their car
driving yeah it's just good to keep in
mind in to hit anything stay present
doing what you're doing in the now
appreciate having you here season so
someone says tell me about the law of
attraction tell you about it's probably
one of the one of the foremost tools or
laws or things that I've used in my life
to create this reality that is kind of
mind-boggling playing in some regards do
you want to riff on the technology of
the law of attraction is that just think
positive thoughts and your reality
changes as a result the truth of the
muhabba traction is that when you get
your thinking right it really does
create positive change in your reality
but your action is also required but
like the power of thinking positively
around what you want to create we've
been talking about this a lot recently
how we would not have created
success we have in our lives had we not
gotten our mindset in alignment first we
can attribute so much of where we are
now to literally the the mental work we
did reprogram reprogramming the scarcity
consciousness I should I both of us all
right we run with poverty consciousness
scarcity consciousness also a tendency
to respond to the present situation with
negativity or doubt or frustration or
fear which is doubt by another name you
can literally reprogram your mind in
order to change the way you respond but
it's not just thinking 1 plus diff
thought today oh my I wish I had a beach
house right it's about really like
really reprogramming your subconscious
mind which takes an incredible amount of
persistence and returning to a day in
day out returning to gratitude returning
to positivity
focusing on those intentions focusing on
what you want and then taking massive
action to back that up so that the
universe then can conspire with you to
create the positive change you want in
your life so Melanie said you know
programming the subconscious mind and
learning and realizing so there's the
power of your subconscious mind is a
good book psycho-cybernetics things in
us and - and the road trip is that
conscious it is an older book and psycho
cybernetics by maxwell maltz is another
great book that talk looks at the
subconscious so the mind right not the
brain the mind the brain is a part of
the body the mind is is kind of add that
connection to something greater there's
two levels there's the thinking mind and
I use that when I'm driving right like
I'm looking at observing the 3rd the 3d
world so there's that's the conscious
mind the thinking mind but then there's
the subconscious mind and the
subconscious mind is what runs your
heart as what makes your fingernails
grow
that's the subconscious mind actually is
running your life the conscious mind and
the observing mind thinks it sees what's
going on so what happens is we all have
pre-written programs that came from our
parent or grandparent who ever raised
you right or if you were raised by a
pack of wolves you are programmed by the
pack of lols right and so that all goes
into the subconscious mind and that's
the scripts ever running so when Melanie
says that like we both grew up with like
poverty consciousness what she's
ultimately my parents were broke my dad
had to go to the pawn shop to get money
for rent like my mom had two pairs of
socks at one point she was literally
washing one and wearing the other and
every day she repeated the cycle she
couldn't afford a third pair of socks
right so the
leave and the idea we can't afford that
and money doesn't grow on trees got
burned into my subconscious mind okay so
what does that mean well that means it
was playing out as my default response
to everything around me in my world when
I was my teens when I was in my 20s when
I was in my 30s that was my default
response so we went on a process to
learn how to reprogram our suppose my
how do you do that you have to it's
through repetition of conscious thought
is how you program your subconscious
mind this is why I will listen to this
an audio book over and over and over
like Bob Proctor's you were born rich is
one that I'm kind of on a kick with may
listen to it over and over the original
version of the secret that had Esther
Hicks in it I watched it like hundreds
of times over and over and the ideas
that were spoken first I hear like oh
that's interesting
hear it again it's like okay here and
then finally I start noticing that I'm
saying them that it's coming back out
and through repetition I burn it into my
subconscious mind so the conscious mind
is like the captain of the ship the
conscious mind looks around and says
we're going that way right it makes a
decision the subconscious minds like
okay and it just does it so the
conscious mind is the captain of the
ship the subconscious mind is are the
people in the engine room the people in
the engine room
can't see if the captain is pointing the
ship towards the rocks the people in the
engine room just get the command from
the captain this is where we're going
and they turn it on so when your captain
says we can't afford that some kind of
sounds good we're on that air and it
just goes the perception and it is a
shift of the conscious mind and then
repeating and really feeding your
conscious mind with new empowered
thoughts and beliefs
that can ultimately get the subconscious
mind to start to kind of bring forth a
new reality by playing new programs new
scripts is a couple of YouTube videos
have you watched those yeah about the
law of attraction specifically
definitely watch those videos do you
know the title of the one that's like
the best law of attraction video ever on
the internet channel for law of
attraction one final thing I want to say
of that is to to get the law of
attraction to work for you bring your
thinking how you feel and your actions
into alignment with what you want to
actually create so act as if you are the
person who is creating what you actually
want to experience reveal positive
emotions about what you really want
think positively see what's possible for
you see that vision and through thinking
feeling and action
you can create if you want to create
more money if you're like straight up
like I want that 10 grand a month I want
50 grand a month you want like then you
have to realize people who earn that
kind of money help improve the lives of
thousands if not millions of people
right like the income you receive is a
byproduct of the value you give so if
you want to be the one the kind of
resume makes 10 grand a month you got to
think the kind of thoughts people who
make 10 grand a month think what do they
do
they read a book a week they're going
through audiobooks non-stop you have to
feel the way they feel which is positive
you look at challenges as of
opportunities you seek out challenges
that other people have to solve them
that's how we look at the world
feel good about problems and challenges
because we know that's opportunity and
then the actions what are people that
make 10 grand a month do what actions do
they take they publish like crazy they
email all the time they're always
running new tasks they're always working
they're not swinging on hammocks on the
beaches no one actually does that
people who make great amounts of money
or improving you live out hundreds of
thousands if not millions of people do
you want to make a million dollars go
help a million people take something in
their lives it's simple it ain't easy
but it actually is that simple right now
no questions you thought okay I did
what's that okay Isaac asks what's the
best way to build my list I'm giving
away a free ebook cool so where's your
audience right so that's the in the ATM
process audience first trust second
monetization third so building your list
is the second layer which is
monetization what's the first one what
are you doing to grow your audience how
big is your audience right now do you
have a thousand people a day on your
blog are you writing blog posts if not
you need to crank that up because you're
probably going to see one to five
percent of people convert so if you have
a thousand people a day and you're
getting 1% it's 100 subscribers a day
drive traffic to your free videos have
you published at this point how many how
many podcasts have you published at this
point it's more of an audience question
and then it's just do they want this
thing you're offering it right and
that's just split testing a little bit
of split testing but if you don't have a
audience machine
turned on an audience growth machine
they're working on the wrong step in the
process you're working on the wrong step
in the framework it is that simple it is
okay
a real us I noticed that you recommend
Sam cart and click funnels which one is
the best for dinners I am new in the
weight loss so it depends on where
you're at to be honest and I don't think
click funnels is a very good solution
for most people in in small number like
there's a small percentage of people who
would actually make sense to use click
funnels so what are you doing what are
you trying to do like so do you actually
need a shopping cart if you do on my
website I have a thrive cart vs. Sam
cart kind of comparison I think Sam
carts fantastic but I'm a $99 month
that's like an expensive shopping cart
when I still have WordPress on the front
end I have my final running on another
system we have an email system like in
our business cost several several
several thousands of dollars a month
just to keep live on the internet at
this point in time you might not need
all that you might be able to go there's
a $50 shopping cart you can use that we
started on called the East or plugin I
review it on my website so the tools you
use need to be a function of what you're
trying to accomplish right a carpenter
who's going to build cabinetry does not
go to the store to be okay what tool am
I gonna use they go look at the cabinet
they look at the job they get to the
point owner but there's there's a right
tool for you in your solution so it's
more like what do you have going on do
you have an audience do you have an
email list you have a course that you
need to sell something on a teachable B
what you actually need I think
teachables a great platform it's far
superior to clickfunnels in delivery of
content if you want to add thrive cart
to teachable say you own the shopping
cart
all in the transaction and teachable
manages the delivery that's a great
setup but again it's kind of a function
of U so Melanie's membership runs on one
system Melanie's one-off products runs
on a separate system my membership runs
on a separate system our friend Bridget
who we helped get her membership going
runs on a totally different system than
what we use there's there's a use case
for Olga and I know people who are doing
well on clickfunnels do hey I don't like
being wishy-washy but it's it's the
truth that the tool is more of a
function of where are you what are you
trying to accomplish out of it you
should be able to figure out which tool
gets that job done on budget on stack
tags how do I find the edge types in my
competitors applause so you've opened
their pages and you click view source
right click view source on if you're on
a PC and you literally look at the
source code and you do like bracket H
and a pull up h1 I'm gonna show you h1
h2 h3 and you just search through them
so you just view the source
I built a tool inside of content and
convergent membership that will kind of
go pull that data for our inner circle
members to you know as a way to add
value to help them save some time but
you just manually go through the page
source and you control an f4 for find
and you find h1 h2 h3 on the on the
pages and you just kind of do the
research manually that way
membership it is not no and miles opens
his membership in the future he has a
really good tool for how you can
optimize the number of headings and
bolts and italics you need so if you're
not on his email list be sure you get on
his email list I mean if you really want
on like you can go to you just email
support at content conversion calm and
ask for a late they'll send it to us 97
bucks a month my quina by when I publish
a new blog post I do the research to see
how many h2 h3 h4 h5 tags are the top
posts ranking on Google how many do they
have and then optimizing my blog posts
in accordance with that and that seems
to be working really well to him yeah we
got 500 pounds here and I think they're
going after that car in front of us okay
okay well you can get on my list at
miles burger home floor sighs fine -
course but but like if you really want
to in you know there's a lot of value in
that one tool so both our content people
do it not only if we use it but like my
content guy and the girl who runs our
content we've taught them go in here and
run it through there once every time
because that's just how you that's is
just we optimize everything okay Mike
asks what you guys would you be willing
to share a weekly Colin
and what that looks like for you as far
as content yeah so I publish videos and
we're doing this Wednesday because we'll
drive it back we're still three plus
hours for closing you're driving in
miles it's like I have to do a video
today like wait you have to publish a
video today so yeah so for me on video
Monday video Wednesday video
Friday or Saturday is essentially my my
schedule there and that's that's it for
me I - I would say email like five or
six days a week
I missed my email this morning we were
our mom's house picking out a family it
just I just didn't do it and then I'm in
my membership group every day answering
questions pretty much seven days a week
I think I missed one day and like nine
months in there I'm just answering
questions so for me that's like what I
have to do each and every week so three
videos a week probably five or six
emails a week and then every day my
membership for my members there are
those more people because they pay me
and then beyond that I'm just kind of
working with our teammates and the week
lab on what longer-term projects do we
have that we're working on that we have
in that we need to kind of get out there
right the - video and I'll share mine in
a minute but doing our like content
strategy we kind of perceived that as
being like maintenance mode right so
that's like what we're able to do while
word we're like traveling or or busy
working on other projects on our house
they're doing other stuff and I mean for
us like it's it's a more aggressive
content strategy than a lot of people do
are on a mission and and committed to it
it's like a full-time entrepreneur is
closer to 80 hours a week right it's
time for an employee that means 40 hours
a week like full-time for an
entrepreneur like 40 hours a week for an
entrepreneur is part time right if
you're doing 30 hours to 40 hours a week
your part time if you're doing 20 hours
a week as an entrepreneur it's like it's
like okay you're not actually an aren't
fair yeah it's kind of the side hustle
you're trying to get there right but a
full-time entrepreneur is 60 to 80 hours
a week each every week so that's our
normal that we operate from within so
take a grain of salt - this is kind of
the key idea I want to share mine since
you asked so I right now daily putting
out a new short like daily an angel
message via social media first thing in
the morning this is something new I'm
trying that I really like you can follow
her and then pretty much daily emailing
you guys like like four to five times a
week I didn't mail today and and giving
myself the permission to like not like
hold on to my head and have to email
every day I don't like superhot the
inspiration every day I don't mail but I
show up every day and create that
container for inspiration to float
through and it often does there's
incredible quotes from some of the most
prolific writers that have ever been
about how like showing up is such a key
to to allowing inspiration to come in
like not like sitting on the couch like
okay I'm gonna work business when I'm
inspired it doesn't work that way
inspiration comes out of massive Al and
we've both oftentimes been like I wanted
to a video today but I don't know what
to do so it's like okay well act as if
get it get up get out from the desk take
a shower and then oh the video comes in
because you created the container and
big magic by Elizabeth Gilbert I forget
the author's name but she talked about a
guy who would literally like put on his
best outfit and his top hat and like her
raid around the room because he is
seducing the muse to create an opening
for an idea to flow through so if you're
not inspired like get to that place
where you like look good feel good and
then that's when inspiration wants to
flow through you Fido
I totally derails what I was talking
about usually of three videos a week for
me
I like at least one of those to hit my
blog as a comprehensive blog post the
other two I do a lot of like deep
specific stuff so those don't
necessarily hit my blog and then for my
membership I do at least
three content deliverables a month if
not more so and I think something that's
worthy of noting on is so Melanie as
you're doing your daily kind of like
inspirational update message to social
and often times the idea flows so so
that's one thing so she's committed to
that so that gets her into action every
morning and then from that as iku okay
well I can kind of tweak that and work
that over here and then it can kind of
become an email and then she thinks
about and then the next day is sending
you a video and you know that idea I was
working with yesterday like you know the
subconscious plays with it and you're
out working in the garden you come back
and all set so cool I could make a video
on it that way and so it often can be
one idea that gets out in several
directions and sometimes it's a
different idea each day but but very
often what you make a video on it's just
something your momentum is real and like
a very real sense of momentum is a real
thing so this is true both in terms say
we're like going to be traveling
internationally we both get way ahead on
our videos and don't do it don't record
new videos for two weeks there are doll
recorded well guess what after that
every day you're sure like you get
momentum if I miss this one video for
you guys right now on a Wednesday
literally straight up like the next one
is like oh god what am I gonna say I'm
dad and like just it just so it's like
no matter what I just have to show up so
and one of the battle is about things
that we each have done is
is internally commit to a content
creation schedule and then sticking to
it and and you don't have to stick to it
like you you miss a video and you're
like beating yourself up that's that's
counterproductive but like but but
sticking to it if you miss the video
wall hit the next hit the next step just
the other thing about momentum is that
and this is what you said that prompted
me was like you have an idea and create
a video so say I so recently I did a
video about self-care and like seven
core areas to stop and step up your
self-care
well after I did that video it was like
wow I could make a video about each of
those seven things I could make a video
about self-care ideas when it's
summertime I could make a video about
self-care ideas for entrepreneurs if you
like lieutenant like it any one idea but
they're all these folks and you just
like keep following inspiration and more
and more ideas appear through that there
is an infinite amount of things that you
could talk about but if you block the
flow and don't take any action and try
to come up with that one perfect idea it
gets way harder and sometimes when we
don't want like you don't want to do it
that's the thing you need to do and what
it's like that commitment to you to keep
showing up that spawns new ideas that
creates new things and it just it forces
Momentum's hands I also want to say that
like some leaks making content is easy
and fun and it flows and other weeks
even right like it's tough it's really
tough like I don't want to do it I feel
like just sit on a couch I just I don't
know like resistance is strong I come up
with every other reason why I got all
this other I need to do like like
that's just part of being a human right
look at sports players they got streaks
you know baseball players have great
months and then they may struggle and
they're like why why can that baseball
player only hit it buck 65 right now
it's mental and physical it's just all
this stuff and I'll stuff
something happens and gets easy again
they get back in the flow again they
start making good contact again in it
it's not a gigantic homerun with
fireworks that gets them there it's a
couple of singles in a row it's a couple
of little things it's hitting a couple
of jump shots that that gives the
confidence back up and gets that
momentum going on your side yeah and to
run with the athlete's analogy because I
was an athlete my previous lifetime not
really in this life but it feels like a
different life I'm like so as an athlete
like if you if you want to get that
streak you go back to fundamentals so go
back to the basic you go back to Street
if your shots off in basketball I was
asking a player you don't shoot you
don't practice three-pointers if your
shots off you literally like sense you
feed away from the O's and like practice
those shoot super short shots and then
you move to the free-throw line and get
your the free-throw Styles again and
then you move out to that three-pointer
so if you're like feeling off and
content creation
don't try to drink through this big new
elaborate idea what is that thing you
have a mastery of that you can just make
a video on that's easy do that and then
that will build the momentum and empower
you towards bringing through that bigger
idea that that you can align with like
it's just about getting yourself as a
vessel
open to receive a bigger idea which
there's so much more that can be said
about that funny that I mentioned
self-care cuz it really is about like
how are you keeping yourself mentally
emotionally physically in a state of
alignment to to do the work so you can
keep showing up and not get so thrown
off face that you're like oh I can't get
off the couch sorry mood-altering Brian
like are you smoking weed are you
drinking every night are you binge
watching Netflix what like are you I did
we have diet or diet but like what do
you think sumo snicker bars did in a try
I mean literally like are you on the
mountain do Red Bull and fir roses to
crash stainable energy that comes
through Michigan it's like are you
filling your brain with really cool
documentaries of successful people and
listening to audiobooks from super
successful people or are you binge
watching the new broken mirror that just
got released or you know like what what
are you consuming on every level because
man garbage in garbage out that's here
that's here that's every level and I'm
not saying like you don't know sober
you're not I'm not trying to make it
sound crazy but just monitor where
you're at right making mood altering
because that feels normal or comfortable
and doing the work feels really tough
well
that's going to create something in five
years versus I'm doing what are you what
are you doing to recover from that and
get yourself back here to a place where
you're where you're ready to go you have
a create video about that that's about
like your recovery time because when you
are creating a lot of content you have
to like you you are like flowing energy
out so then how are you rebuilding your
energy so that you can continue to allow
it to flow through best athletes in the
world they have a recovery plan totally
in place is not just the workout it's
like how do I then recover because if
you can recover more quickly you can do
the work again right if that's a power
lifter if you power lift and you're sore
as for four days you can power lift one
and a half times a week but if you can
power lift every other day because you
have a great recovery schedule you will
literally power lift three times as much
as the person who can only do it one and
a half times per week therefore you're
just going to be better faster right if
you go golf and you're able to golf
every day because you have a recovery
schedule that hydration and all this
stuff built into it and you can golf
every day where's another guy has to
take a day off because
exact amount of time you will become a
better golfer long as you doing the
right things in that sense was it awful
questioner did we just work with night
driving to retail it's like it's
literally like hundreds of miles of
wheat field so like I appreciate you
being here it's fun to hang out hit the
thumbs up we've got a lot more people on
than have hit the thumbs up and like you
might as well just click the thumbs up
if you have a question you can type that
in and we will answer it we've got good
service no mountains ahead and how much
of the content you make is looking back
at analytics and seeing what worked and
doing more of that versus whatever you
think of the day you are shooting so I'm
so I'm very intuitive and I've learned
to harness this intuition and I believe
that intuition is an incredible power
you might call it your gut instinct or
whatever it is but we all feel like like
what's working what doesn't I definitely
when I'm coming out with a like a tactic
and I'm showing you specific like here's
how to split test thumbnails it's
because I've been using it and
statistically I've seen and I've been
able to get a much better increase in my
click-through rates because if not knows
you did a test the other week that like
in four days it came out with 11 percent
better click-through rate but you know
on each video but it's a Yanis to task
on madness so out of those things that's
when I'm bringing forth like here's a
new method here's a new technique
recently I've just after putting on so
many techniques like so my facebook
advertising stuff I don't need to go dig
through data to see that my $0.38 leads
and I'm still getting this date the
$250,000 I've spent on Facebook ad
that's brought in well
more than $200,000 back like I don't go
date of mine to know that I should be
teaching you Facebook ads like it just
is an apparent that it works but now
that I've got all those I think it's
waiting I think for me at first at first
being 10 years ago when I was first
starting my blog miles actually helps me
do like this massive keyword research
session so I was like new to internet
marketing new to thinking about what are
people searching for and so that was
super helpful to have this huge list of
things that people are searching for and
then I let my intuition guide me through
that list and I I'd Cherie pictures the
ones I wanted to do I'm gonna write
about this topic I'm gonna write about
this topic and went through and wrote
all of the eventually wrote all of those
keywords even to unique articles and
content now today I think we both are
very intuitively guided and also in tune
with our audience and and how we could
be of service and just I just think
about the
differently now like now I have an idea
like okay an idea for something that I
want to create I'll often then go to the
keyword tool and type it in and see is
anyone searching for that is that he
went searching for something around them
are they calling it something to France
so it starts with inspiration but then
it's what lends am i explaining that
through what data point can I find that
overlaps with what people are searching
you know we're search engine marketers
like he's great on social media but
ultimately our business runs through the
search engines and there's keyword
research tools that allow us to see how
much search volume because this 8 phrase
a versus phrase beat we can see data on
that so I guess another way of putting
it is in the early days when I was doing
my 90 120 days I was paying attention to
where are the spikes right so just
glance back from time to time and you'll
see you'll know in 48 hours when one of
your new videos her video showed up
yesterday's had 12,000 views in just
over 24 hours we know that that's a good
number and she just glances at the app
it's like over 12,000 overnight that's
so it's like then as I go get why did
that work for me and 120 day challenge I
saw around the Facebook ads content and
around the funnels content big spikes a
lot more people watch those videos than
some of my other videos so I was like
okay cool I'm going to do all of the
Facebook ad videos which is why I did
how to use this part of it how to do a
custom audience how to do it how to do
it and I did all of them get to a point
where like I know I did all what do I do
now that it's kind of back to like I
don't know I've been conversing with you
guys in comments a lot like what
questions are getting asked a lot or
what's the questions like who that's a
good question I want answered that home
and do a video on that and that momentum
thing she was just talking about takes
over from there and it's like you do one
videos ago man I could talk about it
like this I can do some keyword research
I love this one paid tool we both use
like what is reality
for sure like you use that all the time
that is yeah we don't we're not I'm not
promoting as an affiliate because it's
like it actually has a not a great
commission structure but like it's the
one we actually use but then I was like
oh man some people can't afford it
they're limiting the amount of free I'll
do a free keyword research video it's
the same idea so I wouldn't have to
figure out what the best free tool was
and I spent like an afternoon figuring
this all out to then teach it and I
don't use it because he's the paid one
because it's better but I get that some
of you guys are in that situation so I
make it for ya so it's just where
Biberman we started out like only using
free tools
I bought market Samurai early and the
early day keyword tool is one of the
first tools I actually invested in it
maybe that's why I got so addicted to
yeah well it's like it's needed so
how does owning a website URL fit into
things and when to decide its name and
building it etc yeah I mean you can't
build your own site until you have a URL
right at some point you need to have
like technically you can build it on
wordpress.com and like your name dog or
breast comm but but if you're building a
business you need to have a brand name
at some point and you figure it out you
need to just come up with one so there's
a book called primal branding that gives
some ideas on some basic branding ideas
how to build a story brand but but
ultimately your name you just gotta at
some point commit to something and go
and then start building on it but the
web is built you need to have a home on
the web and that's what your domain is
so I would say now is the time to figure
that out Wes asks should I build a
YouTube channel with a lot of short
videos with good info or long deep dive
video you can test it and see what
YouTube responds better to I do know
that YouTube right now is really
prioritizing watch times if that's
overall watch time for videos which is
why you'll see a lot of videos that are
ranking highly are quite long because on
average people are watching more of them
but that doesn't mean like just create
an hour video that's that's worthless
because it's about how long are people
staying on so for a long video you need
to keep them engaged twice so ultimately
I think that's a thing that a lot of
people get caught up on in like this
planning and strategy and how long
should it be when ultimately it's about
it's more important if you were to
consistently put out content
I'm short long like we both have some
really long videos some really short
maybe my shortest videos like 57 seconds
or something like that and it has
literally another night so Neil Patel
said five to seven-minute videos are
great but we were hanging out in Vegas
at the Philly summit so he was very
specific on that data point but yet my
learn SEO video is two hours long is one
of my best ranking videos so the the
algorithm can reward the short videos
and long videos one is not better than
the other it's like what is best for
your audience for that specific keyword
phrase it's literally like always down
to what are they watching are they gonna
find you and the best bet is to start
making lots of videos some will be long
so will be sure don't have a timer make
the video as concise as you can and as
long as it needs to be and then get out
right nobody wants their time wasted you
don't want to hop on a video and have
somebody waste your time with 48 second
dubstep intros and random stories got
nothing you want to get what you want
you typed in the question how do I make
a youtube video and you watch if they
don't teach you what you're looking for
quickly you're out you're looking for
the next one
they have tubes picking up on that
that's what she's talking about is the
algorithm says most people watch 40
seconds of this video the video must
suck ass so they move it down in the
rankings and they start to show the
video that people watch nine out of ten
minutes of because that's a simple
assigned to the algorithm that that
video is preferred but could I teach you
how to do SEO in a seven minute video I
don't think so not really I can explain
what it is but I couldn't actually teach
you how to do SEO like I did it to our
video it just takes two hours to teach
it right into class so
that depends is the worst dancer ever
but like its it's the only right answer
here's a trick five to seven-minute
videos unless they're shorter or longer
sorry no I love it it's perfect okay
Orlando asks how do you organize ideas I
wish I had a system before this pen no
pen there's something thought oh that
I've done honestly off and on but it's
super helpful and I should probably do
it more is that like tonight write down
what are your top three or four
priorities of things for one intention
Barbara that's and writing it down
tonight and then tomorrow when you get
to your dusty priorities tell tell the
viewers how it's my desk
usually like so clean that when we have
somebody coming over I'm like you're
gonna clean your office right I mean so
actually I think I saw Tim on here a
minute ago like Tim's coming to record a
video with Miles and don't you want to
tell you what Tim to think you mean he's
like I don't give a bleep but it's so
and I mentioned my dirty that it's like
literally like I got ideas everywhere I
fill up my whiteboard to the point where
sometimes I have to go you race it all
cuz I don't know what to do with all
those ideas I have a like a journal full
size notepad as an artist notepad next
to me I'm constantly writing down ideas
on that and I just write them down I got
never note my phone it's like I'm so
disorganized with it and I'm still able
to pull it together however we did learn
about something from
our friend Blair with a very successful
entrepreneur
it was can't or can't can't a more
camped am sorry
yeah it's literally like post-it notes
and like your to-do lists and then like
you move the post-it note notes of long
as you well it's like ideas it's getting
on and it's done and you see you put up
all these post-it notes for the idea
section and then you move it to what
you're working on when you're ready to
work on something and then when you're
done you move it to the done so you see
all the stuff you've done
and then the ideas aren't to do it's
just ideas it's like what I want to play
with from here and I kind of do that
with my notepad I just look back and so
I'm constantly trying to analyze what is
the fastest thing I can get done that's
gonna have a highest impact and return
on time investing in my business and
that's usually beyond my videos that I
have to do that's where I go it's like
what's the what's the thing that we
could drop and get done in an afternoon
that's going to give me a new funnel
that might be able to bring in a couple
hundred thousand if you have five
hundred thousand dollars an extra
revenue I want to do that something I
can set up in an afternoon or weekend
they can open up hundreds of thousands
of dollars and I analyze how long is
that going to take
what's the potential reward of that okay
the the time reward ratio is pretty good
on that what I'm just gonna go for it
and then I turn the page in my notebook
and ignore everything else that was
there and just go every once in a while
when I got a lot in my mind it's usually
because I have a lot on my desk
everywhere else I'll just start writing
up journal I'll get everything out of my
mind get it all down on paper just just
like once it's out of my mind I seem to
have more clarity and at that point I'm
kind of open to kind of
to us don't let them fool you their
house is spotless every time I come over
that's good like you haven't seen nobody
clean thanks to you we're not the
neatest people but it always feels so
good once we clean so to china a better
when we hire people they come out they
like to deep clean this is actually oh
my god that was such a useful it was so
worth it so Orlando was clarifying about
the YouTube video length is it watched a
percentage based on video length or
length of video so it's not percentage
based it's like so that's why that's why
longer videos could potentially have
benefit because someone who watches
three minutes of a five minute video
versus someone who watches seven minutes
of a thirty minute video the seven
minute video actually in YouTube's eyes
got time and obviously like YouTube is
giving you the data they're monitoring
all of the data and all of that data is
in their algorithm in some way shape or
form so it all means something and they
are always fiddling with their algorithm
so it's just always changing and
ultimately Orlando like make the videos
find what works for you learn how to
become a more effective communicator
with every video analyze how you did
just like a speaker who goes like our
viewer took public speaking class in
college or high school or uni or
wherever you're on like you not only do
the thing then you then the teacher
tells you how you did and how you can
get better then you do another speech
trying to get better to be how can I be
a more effective communicator and I like
to bring as much impact to you in as
short of a period of time as possible I
rarely think about like okay I really
need to stretch this one out to get a
higher my just yeah
how long it needs to be I wanna you want
a random person to find my channel when
they search for how to use Google Trends
they find my video they watch it they're
like damn I get it Wow and then they go
to Google Trends and they do what they
wanted to do because that's that's what
my video that's the purpose
how long have you how long have you been
doing YouTube videos like how how
experienced are you on camera because is
it is it ever lessly for you to do
videos if so there could be some benefit
and starting to think about how can you
drop in little little things to entice
people to watch to the end of the video
but I say how experienced are you
because for me I still I do this from
time to time but it like it kind of
derailed my brain so it opens a loop in
the video like is the technical term of
what's going on any a Steve benefic have
to like we our brain hates having open
loops so the viewers want to close the
loop but you have to be able to do it
smoothly or it's awkward it's not going
to work
I've done it a few times and I just
there's all these tricks like you know
asking for the thumbs up by the way give
it a thumbs up right now but asking for
the thumbs up early or asking a little
question in the beginning be like this
video you're gonna learn SEO now before
I start why don't you answer below and
let me know if you've done SEO before
yes or no just say yes you know so
you're baiting them for engagement
there's all these things we can anyway
I'm still growing so I just want to make
sure Orlando that you're not resisting
making videos because you think you'll
need to understand the time before you
start right so if you don't have a
hundred videos out yet anyways like who
cares just go make the
go just start it'll make more sense
follow Tim colonies channel he's on the
video machine Oh chances Kanban boards
yeah sorry tips I tried to create a new
collab okay Thomas asks what projects do
copywriters work on for clients on a
monthly basis and how can I build an
agency around being a copywriter this is
the one skill set I'm mastering I don't
know I don't know of any entrepreneurs
who's really hot like because when you
say copywriter I'm thinking sales
messaging and yeah your goal is a
copywriter is to help me as an
entrepreneur get one offer dialed so
well I can scale traffic to that for
years like really good copy writers
often negotiate a percentage of sales
holding the copywriting kind of shake
but are you really good copywriter
already meaning you have like documented
proof oh yeah but I mean that that is I
think the backend of it is you you do
deal so good that it's like it's 10 25
grand for the letter plus 5 percent of
profits type thing is ultimately where
you're shooting for so if you're not
talking about just sales letters and
doing like email writing or or content
marketing that's the thing it's content
are you mad at content no that's insane
they call themselves writers or ghost
writers writers not copyright
but even on the idea of doing the
follow-up sequence once it's done like
many we should time yeah like and if you
have a percent take on it generally
speaking as a copywriter you're going to
keep testing to beat it right you want
to give them a new control and then you
want to keep giving them tests because
you're making 5% of the profits so you
always want to improve it because you
can always improve it so it's it's
finding those kinds of opportunities I
think are key my page 5 business plan
video might have an idea to for you an
upgrade on YouTube to search page 5
business plan all those fancy things on
my videos I don't care but I care about
you Michael asks any tips for testing a
niche
so landing page optimist free thing you
can give away like do a free video and
then run paid ads to it and can you get
through basic testing forty to fifty
percent conversion rates on the often
rape for the the OP that you want if you
don't get it right on your first time we
didn't get anything right on our first
time so know that it's like you're gonna
have to do testing with it bitch and it
might take three or four different
offers with seven or eight different
split test they opt-in to find to really
test a niche but that's the fastest way
is paid traffic ooh Lander of some point
I'd love to hear your thoughts on I only
work in tie-ups
so that only relates to IO or should I
