Wordpress 3.8 is here! Let's take a look at the good bits #Best Education Page #Online Earning

hello everybody Alex here from WP Eagle

calm so wordpress 3.8 came out did you

notice I did because I run quite a few

different WordPress sites so I had to

kind of update them all which I've got

to say it does fill me with a bit of

dread if I'm hotness because some of

them are quite heavily customised so you

have to be careful when you're doing

updates but hey I thought we could you

know have a look at it together and I'll

point out a few the good bits that I

think a good if you haven't tried it you

can you know have a look on here first

and see if you wanna go for it I mean

you're gonna have to go for it in the

end it you know there's no putting off

you know for security reasons whatever

you do have to update but hey let's have

a look I've got the test site up here so

which is still running 3.7 something so

let's update it and then have a quick

look around so well I'm updating a site

I always think it's best to update the

plugins first in fact it is best to

update plugins first because that way

you know you've got the latest version

and if there was any problems with with

the plugin aversion and the latest

version and WordPress you'd hope that by

the time you get around updating that

they've kind of lined out so I've got a

few plugins here so I just can update

the whole lot obviously on a live site

you would back up a whole lot so that if

anything goes wrong you can always

restore it and then you know back up and

then you know try and update each

plug-in individually and see which ones

causing the problem so they're all

updating nicely let's take a look well

let's fast forward time dunno hey that's

all done looks like one of them did have

a bit of a problem there so I well

hopefully we'll be fine let's go back to

the wordpress updates and update the

call you often get messages like that

when your update I find and they're not

always anything to worry about

especially if you're updating lots of

plugins at once it sometimes I don't

know maybe they confuse each other or

whatever so that's just some screen for

woocommerce let's update WordPress here

we go

now if you've got good hosting it should

just work you shouldn't have to put any

ftp details in or anything like that if

you are being asked for ftp details it

only means that your wordpress isn't

right probably on your house side so you

need to get in touch with them and say

there that's not right it should just do

it because WordPress should be able to

write to itself so hey look here we are

wordpress 3.8 so if you haven't seen

already you can already see that they've

they've changed the backend made it more

modern allegedly i like it i think it's

it's really nice and the great thing you

get with this new backend is that you

can actually choose colors to match your

different iphone 5c if you have one I

don't know weighed 105 c but that's

another story yeah and you can just

press here a nice light one a blue one

midnight ectoplasm no quite sure that

means anyway and so that's one nice

feature that then you back end the other

great thing is that the the admin bar is

now responsive so when you're on an

iphone or some smartphone it all nicely

look goes responsive e which is is very

nice that's probably the second good

thing and the third good thing is the

widget area has all been redesigned kind

of laid out differently you've got these

two columns over here now to mess around

with your different side bars so if

you've got a lot of sidebars you know

then easier to manage so really like

that but generally all round and web

best looks a bit more polished and

obviously just keeps getting better and

better so that was it was only just a

quick video on 3.8 there's not much more

to say apart from going update and check
