calm in this video what we can be doing
is adding a image gallery using the
built-in WordPress image gallery
yeah that's why it's called the built-in
gallery so I'm not gonna be any plugins
or anything like that we're just going
to be using WordPress as it comes as a
fresh install so I hope you got some
images ready and let's get started okay
so i'm over on the vanilla test site
which is featured in all of these videos
within this playlist and what we'll do
is we'll have a gallery to a page so
this about as page would be a lovely
place to put a gallery so I'm going to
click Edit Page and then you need to
click where you want the gallery to on
page I'm going to put it below this text
that we've got here and then you need to
click Add media and then that left hand
side there's an option here that says
create gallery so I've already got a
couple of images on this site but i'm
going to upload a couple more just to
fill it out a little bit so I'm just
going to upload those from my computer
you can find the right folder wall to
fall in a forest so there we go i'm
going to select all of those images so
all four respected and then there's a
button down here it says create a new
gallery and that's that done so we can
add captions which is nice so you know a
little bit of text let's do that so that
we can see how it looks lovely images
google images over here you've got your
settings and on the gallery so in terms
of number of columns that you want i'll
go for two columns and the link to the
attachment page or to the media file if
you have it to the media file you should
pop it up in a just pop it up so where
someone clicks on it and then you can
decide the size of the original so we'll
sit it's fun down for now then i'll i'll
show you how it looks and we can adjust
those now save the page you see the
galleries there now and if we click view
page
there's our gallery so if you click
that's quite small image anyway it kind
of opens the book there we go up so you
could add a lightbox plug-in to open up
in a nice lightbox if you wanted to okay
let's head it the sizes and whatnot just
that you can see so I want to make a
change together you can just simply
click click and click on the pencil but
though you can reorder just played by
dragging the images around like that so
let's make the size large and see what
that looks like okay so nice and big now
let's just adjust the columns so you get
an idea of what that looks like so we
could have four columns make the medium
and that's all right there's our four
columns okay I hope you found that
useful have fun setting up your image
galleries if you want to extend the
functionality on your galleries and take
a look there are tons of great plugins
out there to do gallery stuff as I
mentioned light box and all that kind of
stuff so light boxes when you click in
the region it pops open nicely kind of
hovering above the page as it were so
yeah I'll probably some videos on that
another time but in the meantime if you
