thanks for dropping by and welcome to my
office this video is part of my
wordpress basic series and in this video
quite a straightforward process and you
can add images to posts and pages and
lots of other places on wordpress so
let's go through the basics of adding an
image okay so let's get adding an image
to a page so I've got this home page
here um which is the same as any other
page and I'm going to click Edit Page
and while doing now applies also to a
post and anywhere else that you see this
kind of editor screen so you decide
where you want the it to put your image
so I'm going to put it at the beginning
of this post and then you click on add
media if you really uploaded an image
which I did earlier appear here in the
media library or you go to upload files
and then select a file on your computer
I've got an image here of a beach now if
you look down the right hand side
there's a few different options so
you've got things like alignment whether
it's it's to the left or the right you
can add a link and so you can even link
through to the actual image which is
good if you you're kind of inserting it
as in a smaller size because then when
someone clicks on it it will open up
large for them or you cannot see link
through to a custom URL so maybe you
want to link off to Google wherever else
or even another page on your website and
in terms of the alignment I'll show you
what that looks like so if we went for
right and i went for insert into page
it's going to sit on the right-hand side
and the text is going to wrap around it
like that so let's just update the page
and i'll show you what it looks like on
the front of the website like that
pretty obvious really and now we can
change your limit just from here by just
clicking the image then these options
can swing your left
in the middle if you put no alignment it
will just kind of sit there to the side
let's hold it what that looks like yeah
just at the top nothing exciting so I
think you know a nice right alignment
off looks good when it's within takes
blue sea entirely up to you you're gonna
click on the pencil again just to go
through the last few things that you can
set so you can set a caption so you can
play you know the beach and then that
adds a little bit of text underneath the
image and then the alt text is what
happens what appears when someone hovers
on the image it's also really good for
search engines to set the alt text
obviously include keywords and things
that you want to your rank for and you
don't need to worry about the advanced
options for now let's click update and
update again so have a look at our final
image there we go and i'll see if i
click it look off to google because
that's where i said i think hope that's
