hope you like it it's very small but
anyway in this video what we're gonna be
is a blog platform it always has been
but it's kind of moved away from that a
bit recently and become more of a CMS
with pages and and all that kind of
stuff to make it like a real website but
I'll see a true website doesn't need a
integrated blog and WordPress doesn't do
that really well so we're gonna do is
create a page cool blog and then we're
gonna make sure that all our latest
posts etc here on there so let's get
started okay so I move on the test site
that I'm using for these particular
videos favorite vanilla WP eagle calm
lot of that really matters and it's
using the basic theme that comes with
WordPress it's got nothing installed no
plugins or no extra themes now this
theme it does have a blog on the front
page as you can see as do a lot of them
as they as they kind of come but for
most websites who it's not just a blog
and you know it's got other things going
on you probably just want the blog on
its own page and not on the home page so
what we gonna do in this video as
already said is set up that blog page so
let's do that
so I'm already logged in I'm gonna go
what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna create a
new page so click new page and I really
call it blog funny enough but you could
call it news or whatever you want
it's italic to you now I don't need to
add anything to this particular page and
that's it so we're just gonna click
publish and if we go we can go view this
page and you'll see that it's got
nothing on it because we didn't add
anything and it's automatically added it
to the menu because I've got it's set to
do that so now I need to do one more
things and let's go back into the
dashboard and then what we'll do is go
into settings and reading
and then what we need to do is take this
radio button here which says a static
page and then we need to click on this
post page selector and select the blog
page the one that we just created and
click Save
so now if we go back to the website and
click on the blog it looks exactly like
the home page because the home page is
the blog in the next video I'm gonna do
I'm gonna set a different home page so
it right at the same but here now on
this blog page we'll start to get the
blog post coming through at the moment
this website is only got the one hello
world post but as I have more posts that
they will appear here I hope that's been
useful and I've see for more videos
