hey everyone this is Stefan James from
Project life mastery at cellar con which
is a live event for Amazon sellers
created by the amazing selling machine
and I'm sitting down with Andre and
galia Andres from Romania you're from
Bulgaria you guys live in Chicago and
the reason why I'm sitting down with
these two is they have a pretty
inspirational and incredible story about
getting started to sell on Amazon they
both joined the amazing selling machine
ASM eight I think was last year yes and
ninety was in 2017 2017 I know your
first product you guys I think did
$20,000 in the first month in the first
month I'll let you guys show the story
but you guys went through a lot of
adversity and challenges running out of
stock
challenges with your competitors a lot
of adversity that I I want to share you
know with my audience here because I
think a lot of people think is easy and
you know some people have an easier path
than others but I want to let people
know some of the challenges you can go
through and what's so inspiration about
that stop you you guys kept learning
kept growing you guys last year closed
out $400,000 in sales
Dessie you know your gear you guys doing
around 50,000 a month I think you guys
said and you know 60,000 fantastic so
someone say thank you for taking the
time do so pre having us yes thank you
so do you mind sharing with people a
little bit about your story how you got
into selling on Amazon so we were
looking for an online business because
golly I have chronic migraines and also
she need to work from home because when
it's getting those tough days she cannot
go to work basically she just need to
stay in the bed and we saw that the only
option it was to work from home and you
need a flexible program like time when
you're working and we were looking for
that we saw your videos about ASM and
how other people are succeeding with
that and it was a good opportunity for
us and also with ad9 Peter we saw that
video which inspired gallium mostly in
me and once we saw your email that the
gates are open and we can buy the course
we jumped right in
and we basically bought it yeah and
we'll be started and following it that's
the most important stuff steps exactly
as and yeah we were all in I mean at
least me for the beginning but both of
us we were all in from the beginning we
believe it that was the most important
stuff because if you are not following
it and you're just finding shortcuts
it's not good what do you think allowed
you to have that belief because I know
some people they're a little bit
skeptical you know I know you sometimes
you see these interviews as I'm sure
some people might see this you know from
Peter and Adina and others where they're
doing a hundred thousand a month and
it's sometimes it's like is that real is
that even possible but you know some
people they're skeptical they don't do
anything but you guys I guess used as
inspiration and decided to go for it
that's what actually inspired us those
kind of interviews when you saw that
regular people you know and especially
that those guys that didn't Peter they
didn't know even that good English it's
not like we know that rude but it was
inspiring us to just go for it and at
least to try it
we knew that we will succeed it
eventually it will not be that easy but
we wanted to try it as much as possible
and to go to go all in for it then yeah
eventually we actually could join ace
and salmon but I didn't and then when
sm8 open the doors for new members and
they send me your video we they didn't
meet there I was like wow if they can do
it like we can do too why not yeah that
was a turning point in my mind that's
great that's great so what was your
experience I guess getting started
picking your product I guess going to
amazing sell machine you might Sharon
just about that process and then also
the challenges that you guys went
through so we actually the way is I'm a
structure that you get access to one
module each wig so I stayed on top of it
and I made sure that I finished my mojo
and I complete all the steps before the
new module is really
and they also have badges which are so
motivation like I was so upset because I
couldn't take my 25k know my still
essential badge because he had to open
the bank account you need to go open
that back I mean my bad and the course
is really easy to fall and they have
amazing community with so many helpful
people members and mentors that are
there to answer of the members questions
so nobody is left behind
everyone gets help when they need it
inspiration motivation because we all
have our moments when you feel down we
just need something small to push ups
back up and that's why we have each
other you know when we are one down the
other one is up and it's just dragging
each other and pushing each other it's
not this is not everything smooth you
know but when you're when it's getting
like good sales and you're jumping back
oh my god you're getting so excited and
it cannot believe it in that moment and
it's pushing me even more even more even
more and I know you have bad days or a
bad review or something and it's you
don't like it in that moment but overall
yeah we are pushing each other every day
and to accomplish a lot of stuff yeah
that's great that you guys have each
other to you to have that support you
might turn about your first product you
don't to share specifics but just what
was that process like and I know you
guys ordered your first inventory and
then once they shipped it you ordered
more so you mind sharing a little bit
about that yeah so we are in kitchen
related products and we actually had two
products which they were on the numbers
they weren't identical but on the
numbers they were showing identical yeah
and in that moment you know they are
teaching you in the course
okay choose whatever you like more if
they're almost the same you know and we
love that one and if we were okay you
know with it and yeah we place an order
initially over thousand units six of six
hundred yeah and we knew we heard about
that it was in the same
I think yeah and we heard about the
Chinese New Year and that we will need
more inventory and so on zinc China yes
because we're searching sourcing from
China and we said okay let's have to
replace it after we said okay let's put
it a thousand because we will sell them
doesn't matter what but we will sell
them I was sure that will sell him is
that because when you did their product
research you just everything looked
really good followed absolutely
everything it was every criteria
matching from ASM everything was
absolutely great find something it's
different yeah we improve it all the
time we want to have a different thing
than other ones but also to be good for
the customer not just to put that
product which they will not need it to
be related to that man in to help in
using that product every day and this is
it like a feature that you guys try to
improve or how did you guys try to
improve it it's actually it's a bonus
item that complements the main product
really well yeah and I can give an
example if you open if you search for
any kind of kitchen related product you
see many people offer as a bonus like
patio or cleaning brush but nobody
actually needs them like we all have
them in our homes yeah they're not like
that big of a selling point to the
customer in my opinion so weighted
something unique that nobody else was
selling and it was the perfect match for
the main product and on top of that in
January like 50 and I think it was I
just was in 18 our manufacturer finished
the product manufacturing and they
wanted to ship them and in that moment
we believe that much we were discussing
hey we are going to sell them and we
realize like a little bit of managed
inventory and stuff like how it's
working and we were hey we will be out
of stock so we didn't even start selling
and we place another order over thousand
more and we didn't even have the first
product on Amazon and it doesn't seem
like a lot now a thousand units but when
you first start 1,000 units is a lot and
use a lot of
when you're just starting out yeah and
yeah we start selling them February my
pepper is 17
yeah we can remember that it's a funny
story
because when we first start we don't
actually realize how the business is
working so we were expecting that we
will get the product before Christmas
and get all the Christmas sales didn't
happen of course and we were even joking
that we will start selling for my
birthday to be conferred a present and
my birthday's on February 19 but it just
so happened that he made me a surprise
party on the 17th which completely
matched our first sale yeah we started
in the first couple of days with like
four or five sales whatever somewhere
there and by the by a week we already
had organic ones because we were pushing
with PPC and you know yeah whatever they
are teaching with Facebook and you know
stuff like that but in a week we managed
to rank for our main product page for
the first page and we start selling and
after that from like seven five six
seven whatever it was 14 after that 20
and by the end of the inventory we were
selling 50 per day but we didn't have
them anymore and that it was the Chinese
New Year in that moment and we just we
were asking the supplier hey what is
going on with her order when it will be
ready and they said hey we need to delay
two months because we got a bigger order
from another seller and it was sour
because challenge for that moment
because we will knew that will be out of
stock for two months and it's pretty bad
for Amazon to beat the fact that work
that you guys did to rate the product
and everything now you have
so how so is that what happened you guys
had to go to out-of-stock I guess for a
while well we were out of stock for like
two months
yeah yeah so two months without sales
and I guess when you did get your
inventory
what did things pick back up again or
how did you guys get page one but still
were there that's good it took like two
weeks and you like we managed to go back
no but it wasn't like difficult but we
had excellent sales before we went out
of stock so I guess the sales history
helped us yeah but we were closing also
the least thing and probably those
things helps yeah it was that strategy
for that moment but yeah meanwhile we
change our supplier because we were
disappointed of what they did to us you
know and we find the great supplier
right now is helping us is we actually
met her this year in Chicago she was
coming in a fair there and we were
meeting her and we have a great
relationship with with her and yeah
we're we're just selling it since then I
think we were running for Christmas
morning unfortunately I know I know you
guys had another challenge to with
competitors do you mind sharing a little
bit about that because and unfortunately
you know there are some competitors that
do some shady things that you know
sometimes comes out so so once we
started sailing 50 unions a day which
was like approximately I know 20 to 30
days after we started selling we got
five unverified one-star reviews in the
same day and a difference of an hour it
is five unverified one style views we're
stating false information about the
product which didn't match the listing
so we reported these reviews and we got
suspended because Amazon thought that we
are lying on the listings so they had to
check all the remaining inventory
manually many
and it was taking like 25 days or some
like less than 100 units left but it's
it was bad because we're new sailors
like why just all wrong and it was just
lying about our pride was obviously that
and it was in the listing everything
correct and they were just lying in
purpose to affect us yeah you know to
get suspended because they knew for sure
it will get suspended because Amazon
when is is believing more the customer
than sellers sometimes unfortunately and
yeah anyway they needed to change to
check it and we were delayed like
20-some days
was there anything that you learned from
that like is there a way that some can
avoid that happening you cannot avoid it
but if you are compliant with all the
Terms of Service you can go again what
we learn I basically use to fight back
every time we especially with those guys
which are doing shady tricks you should
fight that be okay we were in depression
in that moment you know you were
disappointed headway is happening to us
we didn't do any mistake we didn't do
anything wrong we are not making false
claims and stuff like that and still we
got suspended and we are imagine if we
were selling like how we are now to get
suspended for it could be worse but yeah
that's what we learned to fight back and
eventually I think they got after the
review they got deleted those reviews we
actually a week after the unverified
reviews with like 15 verified 1 star
reviews
they came overnight and I remember
because it was like 2:00 in the morning
I was like if you say one Amazon you
know that you can stay up late then
communicate with supplier is make sure
everything is fine and every time I
would refresh the page I'd see one more
new verified one side of you and I was
literally staying in my bed kind what
people do that yeah
yeah it's it's definitely a challenge
you know when one thing that I learned
from this experience and also other
people and I always try to recommend it
is to build it what it's called a
Parthenon not just a one-legged stool
because sometimes when you depend too
much on Amazon then you're at the mercy
of them but I know you guys have now
branched out to Europe and I think
you're on the website as well and that
gives you a little bit more control that
something does happen then you at least
have you know you have your product in
different places and whatnot as well
yeah they're planning maybe next year
right now we're still growing and you
know how the money we're planning to try
and Walmart will see walmart.com or
Walmart or Target will say but yeah
that's what is planning to diversify
because you're too tight when you're too
tight to a platform and they're changing
something yeah that's not that
confession business yeah and so what was
the I guess the mindset that I guess
both of you had during those difficult
times like that was it just the belief
that you had that you know what we just
got to get back on track that you know
just you guys saw it as this a temporary
roadblock along the way or what what did
you guys believe that helped you get
back on track and keep going because I
know a lot of people might get
discouraged and say this is not for me
and give up or you know the lesson like
that stopped them many people do get
discouraged and I was very discouraged
especially with the verified reviews
like I was ready to give up and she came
at home exactly at that moment and
here's what's happening like right Frank

oh it's fine you'll figure something out
yeah okay so I found a way I didn't an
investigator I found everything about
the reviewers I found out who the
competitor was who was targeting us I
made a PDF very nice PDV PDF with all
the information I found I open a case
with Amazon and that competitor got all
of the reviews
they had like the ones that are on your
products or they got their own their own
product
do you use they were buying basically
reviews on Facebook groups and that's
one is not allowed to buy it okay you
can ask for reviews but you cannot buy
or give something you know and I was
telling her hey make us as detailed
print screen ads as possible PDF to be
as easy for Amazon guys to check it out
and to follow up with them and after
like a week or something there we would
just show him we just saw that from 800
reviews they had like zero and after
that okay they were out of business with
zero reviews and also they they couldn't
get more reviews because they are
blocking them so you know good for you
guys so out of you
way to fight back right back you need to
fight back in a possible way yeah yeah
and and you mind sharing just kind of
you know I know you had some other
difficulties of being out of stock sense
but I guess so how did how did the last
year ago for you guys and where you guys
at now today I'm sure things are a lot
easier now I hope but there's still some
challenges here and there yeah we manage
better the inventory and now we know how
to plan it better or we actually
launched this year like two months ago
in England in Germany I mean in Europe
but basically on those when we are
focusing and yeah with the help on
Amazon because actually one guy from
Amazon was sending an email and was
saying hey is the last day when I can
help you to launch in Europe and say
okay give us a call and we will talk and
actually yeah we figured out that we can
we could launch with the same product
and with the same company from here we
didn't need even a company in Europe and
yeah that was pushing us to do that
because it was a simple way for us to do
it and right now we're selling pretty
good we're still out of inventory in
most markets like one or another product
yeah but we will focus okay anyway the
the main product which is actually the
first one which we launched it doesn't
is selling the best and
we are focusing to not be out of stock
with that one at least and yeah you need
an airship from time to time to justify
it so I guess what have you guys learned
when it comes to inventory management is
it just really knowing the lead time how
long it takes to get it from the
supplier managing your costs the money
involved in everything - it orders what
did you guys learn to help that
complicated strategy and stuff but we
are we saw that it's taking since we
place the order about three months in
the worst case scenario I mean can be
even worse than that but it's usually
like three months and we on tracking on
how much we're selling in that month
we're ordering even a little more like
10% more units just to be on top of it
and if it's happening something we can
discuss with our supplier to give us
some units earlier just to manufacture
them faster and just airship it it was
happening to us a few times just to not
be out of stock also check every month
how much we sewed in the previous month
because if we look at the last 90 days
it gives us an idea but we cannot see if
we're growing with the sales but if we
check every 30 days we know how the
sales are going so we can like get an IV
and like prediction I would say our
sales would be got it so do you guys
have two products out there right now we
have three aces so one of them is like
kind of variation but it has a separate
listing yeah awesome and then what do
you guys project for this year you guys
have coming up next and how much do you
guys projected yes we do we placed the
ring like we place an order of a new
product which we're waiting it and with
that one together with the England in
Germany we are planning to pass a
million just in sales
yeah we're on track for a million yeah
and we are counting a lot for like
December and you know those day those
months because they are grown you guys
did I think 130k last December yeah
which was
was more than double yeah and we were
out of stock like for her forever like
we could make it a good problem to have
right it means that your products
selling and do well right we weren't
expecting grow because we were we
checked how many units our competitor so
the previous year in December but it
just passed all of our yeah we were
selling even more and in December
because we knew that we will be out of
stock we increased with 8 bucks from
like 30 bucks to 38 boxing they were
selling even more even more we were
selling we wanted to slow down a little
bit and we were selling even more I said
ok we are making more profit there it's
a good problem to have so I said a few
more questions before we wrap up I guess
you know how is this business now
changed your life like when you look
back and know the migraines that you
dealt with and everything but just in
terms of you know this business and this
opportunity how much has it changer
guys's life not only for myself to pick
up the time when I can and I want to
work but also he has more freedom he's
still working we have another business
but still he didn't work most of the
winter he stayed at home we traveled a
lot but we decided in December I will
just quit my job focus also most mostly
on Amazon and she is full time from last
year since we launched the first product
because we decided in that moment hey
it's making enough money to cover your
salary and stuff and getting paid now
yeah she's getting paid yeah so yeah we
we are planning to have more more time
free and to work from whatever we want
and stuff like that yeah that's how it's
changed our life for now but in December
for sure I'll quit and yeah what advice
would you give to someone watching this
that might be where you guys were you
know maybe watching a video that on my
channel and considering to start this
business or joining SM what advice would
you give to someone like that simply
just to start is the best time just
start you need to believe it because if
you don't
you will find all the time excuses to
not work and to not push it you don't
need that much money actually to start
it it's a good investment but not that
crazy amount for franchise or something
like that you need like hundreds of
thousands of dollars but for this one if
you're focusing and you have the right
pet and you have help from mentors and
stuff like that and from ASM and from
other communities if you want it will be
the best way is just to start right now
Amazon is growing every year is a place
to be and after that yeah you can expect
other places to sell but it's a good
start and a good platform right now to
sell on Amazon then there's the best
advice which I can give right now and to
believe it and okay everybody has
problems but let them away and just try
to focus if you're really interested
about Amazon just focus on that one and
don't get distracted with simple things
yeah it's great how about you believe in
yourself believe in SM and don't give up
people who give up usually blame
somebody else for their failure either
SM or a mentor somebody else doesn't
matter who that somebody else but never
themselves and the truth is that most
people just don't put enough effort into
that they just assumed because I didn't
believe in either themselves or the
training they just never put a hundred
percent of themselves and their effort
into that because they know they will
fail they just expected right right
