3 Things I'm Stopping In My Life #Best Education Page #Online Earning

3 Things I'm Stopping In My Life

All right, guys. I'm going to share with you
three things that I commit to stopping and
no longer doing in my life. Number one is
what I call aimless consumption, aimless
consumption. Now, I know you probably know
what I'm talking about here. This is
where you're consuming all the feeds
that are out there online, all the
Facebook feeds, and the Instagram feeds,
and the Twitter feeds, and the Snapchat,
and the YouTube comments and all the
feeds that are out there. There's a lot of
feeds that are out there these days where
you're watching other people live their
lives, and it's holding you back from
living your life, from taking action to
pursue the goals and the dreams that I
have for myself. I've been super
guilty of this. In some cases, spending
hours just aimlessly consuming from
other people. I don't even know who they are.
I don't necessarily care who they
are. That I'm just watching them live
their life or I'm clicking on links that
lead me down this path and that path.
I'm thinking to myself, "How does this
even benefit me in my life? How is this
enhancing my life and making it even
Yeah, maybe once in a while, I come
across something that's cool, or
interesting, or funny, or actually
educational but a lot of the times it's
aimless. It's without a purpose. It's a
distraction that is holding me back
from taking action to my life and doing
the things that I really want to do that
will actually progress my life even more
so. Or, I don't know about you, I'm trying
to spend more time away from the
computer, away from technology, away from
my phone and the internet and spend more
of my life in the real world offline.
Remember that, the real world where you
actually get out there and
you're away from the computer. You're away
from the screen and you're actually
talking to people face–to–face,
interacting with them and actually
having a conversation and connecting and
exploring the world and having
adventures and real experiences in life.
See, that's what I want my life to be.
That this technology thing, often times
we get caught up. We forget that
technology, the internet, our business, et cetera,
is really there to help us support
perhaps a certain lifestyle that we
might desire
and just wasting my time consuming,
that's holding me back from creating.
I'm not saying not to consume. I'm
saying consuming, for me, with a purpose. That if
I'm going to consume something, not just
aimlessly open up Facebook, or Twitter,
or Instagram or Snapchat, but actually
deciding, okay, I'm going to go on
Facebook so I can see what this friend
is doing in their life and I want to
look at their photos. I want to follow
them. Or if I'm on Snapchat, I'm
going to unfollow all the people I don't
care about that don't enhance my life in
any way. I'm just going to go on. I'm
just going to follow that one person
that I might look up to or that one
person that actually has some benefit or
actually care what's going on in their
life. Or, if I'm going to go to Twitter,
I'm just going to put in Twitter of
Richard Branson or Bill Gates just so I
could see what they're doing. That's more
purposeful. Or instead of just aimlessly
clicking around on the internet watching
different videos out there, I'm going to
be more selective about the information
that I consume. I'm going to be more
selective and decide, you know what? If I'm
going to go to YouTube, I'm going to go
to it with the purpose of searching for
something or on Google or I'm going to
go that favorite channel of mine, that
favorite person that I know has value
and benefit, and I'm just going to
consume this one video. Then I'm going to
turn it off and I'm going to live my
life. Okay. No longer aimless
consumption. More time in the real world
and being more strategic about what I
consume, strategic about how I use the
internet and social media not just
aimlessly using it with no benefit
whatsoever. That's the number one
I'm committing to. Number two that
I'll stop doing and no longer do is saying
yes too often, saying yes too often. I'm
going to commit to saying no a lot more
than I say yes. Now, I don't know about
you but a lot of times when you say yes to
things, you over commit and it stresses
you out. It overwhelms you. I know, for
me, there's certain things, the
appointments or things I commit to that
often times they're not aligned with my
purpose. They're not aligned with my
ultimate vision that I have for myself.
In fact, one ritual that I have every
single week
on Mondays is I look at my calendar
throughout the week and I ask
myself, "What is it on this calendar throughout
this week that I need to cancel or
reschedule? What do I need to cancel or
reschedule?" I'm spending a
lot of time now canceling things.
Sorry, I can't make this appointment.
I can't make this lunch. It's not
part of my vision. It's not part
of my purpose. It's not the most
important thing for me to do. By
saying no, you'll learn to focus. You'll learn
to immerse yourself. You'll learn to
commit to mastering one thing or a few
things as opposed to overreaching
yourself, overstretching your focus in
many ways that can lead to dabbling in
distraction and not really serving yo
the best possible way, so I'll be saying no
a lot. That might be a great
opportunity. Hey, Stef. There's this great
opportunity. I don't care. I'm focused
right now. I'm focused on this. I'm
grinding. I'm hustling towards this one
goal, this one outcome that I have. I'm
saying no to everything else. I'm putting
the blinders on. I'm going to have a
narrow focus. You know what? This
might offend people. Some people that
might contact me might not be a part of
my plan or might not be able to get a
response from me. But you know what? I'm
not here to please everybody. I'm here to
live my life and serve in the highest
possible way that I know how and that I
can, and I can make the biggest
difference that fulfills me the most. So,
I'm going to be saying no, no, no, no, no a
lot in my life throughout my day, throughout my
week, throughout the months. People
want to meet for lunch. Sorry, I
can't. I'm going to have to say no. I'm going
to reserve that time that I have, my
valuable time, to people that I love and
care about the most, my family, my friends,
my girlfriend. That unfortunately
might mean for some people that I'm
going to have to say no to them. Some
people might not like it. That's okay. All
right. The third thing that I'm going to
commit to stopping and no longer doing
is anything that does not align with my
purpose, anything that does not align with
my ultimate vision of what I want for
my life so these might be certain habits,
certain activities, certain things that
just take
away from it that are taking away
from the life that I want or the energy,
the vitality, my happiness in anyway. So,
I'm not going to be giving any power
whatsoever to any person or anything
that is not in alignment with the life
that I want to live. I guess that
kind of fits in with saying no a lot.
Even just cutting out certain things, too,
eliminating certain things so that I can
really allow the time that I'm spending
on this planet, be the most efficient
with it as possible so I have no regrets
and I'm living my life to the full. Okay.
Those are the three things I'm
committing to stopping, no longer doing in
my life. No more aimless consumption. No
more saying yes too often. I'm going to say no
a hell of a lot more, and I'm going to no
longer do anything that's not
aligned with my purpose. Those are my three things.
If you've got three things you want to
commit to no longer doing, leave a
comment below. I love to hear what they are.
