so what Tony says is he actually breaks
it down into three categories as well he
has a skilled producer also known as the
artist the leader manager any
entrepreneur okay so the skilled
producer is someone who's more of a
skill set and that for example could be
an accountant it could be a lawyer it
could be a doctor it could be a coach it
could be a speaker it could be an
athlete it could be a performer it could
be an actor it could be a singer someone
that has mastered their craft they often
love what they're doing okay they love
growing and cultivating their craft and
giving and sharing that okay
that's the skilled producer okay you're
either one of these three oftentimes
people that are maybe in the role of
having a job like they want to be an
architect or they want to you know be a
doctor they're more of the skilled
producer type the leader manager is
someone that is great with people they
like leading people and managing and
working with teams or more people
oriented they have great communication
skills you know able to connect with
people and lead and inspire them they're
often a really good at organization okay
organizing things and then also the
entrepreneur is more the person that is
the visionary that likes to the startup
likes to create new things that has a
higher tolerance for risk right they get
start businesses and whatnot and
oftentimes the entrepreneur is not as
associated to it then an artist or
skilled producer is because the often
the entrepreneur they're more focused on
building a business that has systems in
it that's leveraging that's something
that can be you know potentially be sold
profit is very important they operate as
an entrepreneur they have a different
mindset versus oftentimes maybe the
artist or the skilled producer might not
be able to see that and can end up
making a lot of mistakes and not
thinking as a business and as an
entrepreneur now you can be all three
you can grow and develop all three of
these areas however again there will be
one of them that's more your nature
that's going to be most aligned with who
you are at your core and it's gonna be
something that's gonna fulfill you the
most
now let me give you an example for my
life I started off as a skilled producer
for me when I was younger when I was in
high school I wanted to be an architect
and for me that was just something that
I wanted to do primarily because I was
pretty good at it I got some recognition
for it when I was in high school I
wasn't very good at most things in
school but I was always pretty good with
computers and my drafting class I did
pretty well in and so that was the one
area that I had the most certainty I got
significance from it and so I thought
you know I am when I was at a young age
I didn't really know what I wanted to do
with my life so I was like hey you know
I'm going to be an architect okay that's
something that I'm good at so an
architect would be more of a skilled
producer and then eventually what
happened was as I got older I realized I
actually changed my values I actually
realized that I didn't really want to be
inside in front of a computer all day
because at that stage of my life as well
when I was maybe 19 20 21 I was making
shifts in my life to develop my social
skills my confidence I was going up
meeting people a lot and that had become
a higher value to me in my life and so
connection and fun was actually a really
high value that I had and growth and
contribution so when I was 21 years old
I started my first business and the
business was called lifestyle
transformations and it was a dating
coaching company and life coaching
company that I started with two
different partners where I wasn't doing
it for money or security or anything
like that I was just living with a bunch
of friends at the time very low expense
lifestyle but I was doing it for
connection and growth and contribution I
wanted to do something I felt like being
an architect it wouldn't really fit fill
those values that I had so I started get
clear on my values and I pursued that
for a little while now when I was doing
that I was doing it more as a skilled
producer an artist I had gifts that I
wanted to share I wanted to coach people
I wanted to help other people and I was
developing a lot of skills in that area
of my life I started doing public
speaking and learning coaching skills
and how to communicate better and help
people in that way the challenge was
when I started that business I was not
an entrepreneur and I was not a leader
manager I had no right that was just
against my nature it was not something
that I really wanted to do but I had to
learn it out of necessity so for me I
realized that my message is gonna die at
my lips unless I learn about business
unless I actually learn how to start a
business and learn marketing and develop
certain skills so I was a skilled
producer and I developed entrepreneurial
skills okay leader manager was something
was always the weakest part of in a
weakest area for me it was something
that I always struggled managing people
on my team you know working with my
co-workers or you know working with my
business partners I was not the you know
really the type of person that would
constantly be on top of people and
communicate with them oftentimes and
even to this day with my team is I'll be
so focused as an artist we'll be so
focused on my craft or my project that
I'll even forget to communicate with my
team I'll kind of be isolated and it's
kind of work on my craft and you know be
more introverted and and and really
doing you know working on a project of
what have you and then my team you know
oftentimes not be managed effectively
and so what happened for me eventually
and eventually as a group project life
mastery whatnot is I realized that I
needed a hire a manager leader in my
business okay I needed to find someone
that that's their nature that's what
they love that's who they are and I
needed a part I need to hire that person
to be able to do that for me
okay so that's how you want to think you
can develop these other skills or maybe
you're an entrepreneur and you got to
develop these skills here or maybe
you're an entrepreneur and you partner
with someone you know that can that can
support you in that way but that's how
you have to think is gonna know what
your nature is and ultimately what's
gonna fulfill you is when you're living
that and so that's why for me today I've
identified my nature is I'm a skilled
producer I love to help people I love to
coach I love to grow I love to learn and
I don't do anything anymore that I don't
enjoy doing and I've got other people
that run my business they manage my team
that handled the operations so that I
can just do and live my mission what I
enjoy the most okay so that was a really
powerful distinction for me in my life
and maybe for you when you're first
start
no you might have to do some things you
don't enjoy and cultivate those skills
but ultimately you've got to know what
your nature is and you got to make sure
that that's where you're really
developing yourself the most and and
living if you want to be living your
mission in life
