so I just got out of a nearly five hour
meeting with my team and I'm gonna show
you guys a really powerful process that
you can use for yourself as a
self-improvement ritual you can do it
every 90 days is what I recommend it's
something that you can do if you have a
business and you really want to grow it
and scale it over the long term and it's
also something that you can do
especially if you have a team if you
have a leadership team I've integrated
this now with there's three of us that
are leaders within project life mastery
and it's also great if you have a
mastermind group or even a friend a
buddy you know if you have people that
you can do this with is fantastic but if
you don't you can just do it yourself
it's something that I've done for many
many years that really ensures that I
consistently grow every single quarter
every single year in my own personal
life in my business especially okay so
what it is is basically a meeting that
you're gonna have every 90 days every
quarter okay you're gonna break out the
year into quarters okay that's four
do is you're gonna have a certain format
for this meeting and like I said if it's
just you then you still schedule this as
a meeting with yourself okay if you have
friends that you could do it with a
mastermind the team that you can do with
fantastic but either way you've got to
schedule out the quarters that you're
gonna have these meetings okay and as
you guys know first of all you always
gonna have goals that you set for
yourself at the beginning of the year
that's gonna plan out the year for you
but as I've mentioned before you've got
to make sure that you check in on your
goals on a regular basis you can't just
set a goal and then forget about it
that's what most people do they set
their New Year's resolutions and they
never look at again they forget about it
and they wonder why they're not
achieving anything right so you schedule
this every 90 days okay the format that
I go through that you guys can model and
what I recommend and what I found that
really works is first and foremost what
we do in our team meaning is we go over
the vision for the company okay so I've
got a certain vision for project life
mastery that I've defined that everyone
on my team buys into we're all trying to
accomplish the same thing of what we
want to accomplish within project life
mastery so we first review that that's
that's a
high level thing that you have to make
sure that you regularly check in on
because goal setting is more of like a
monthly quarterly or yearly activity to
help achieve milestones but you got to
look at the bigger picture and that's
what this process is about it's taking a
step back and looking at the bigger
picture of your life in your business
because what I found what happens in
just anyone's life or even in a business
it's very easy to get caught up on the
day-to-day activities the week to week
stuff and even the month of month goals
that you're maybe working towards the
projects but you got to take a step back
instead of working in the business work
on the business and by taking a step
back you get in to assess the bigger
picture and the direction that you're
going and make the necessary adjustments
and tweaks and modifications and
reassess things reprioritize and you
know get feedback that's really what
this process and this ritual is about is
it's every quarter for you to take a
step back and look at things getting
altitude as eben pagan says on things
okay
so we review the vision number two is we
review the values
okay the values for the business the
values for your life checking in on that
making sure they're still relevant now
values I think are critically important
for your personal life I've already
shared a video on that at project life
mastery but it's also equally important
for your business what is your business
stand for what's important in your
business what are the values that you
want to live up to in your life or that
you want your company culture to consist
of you've got to get very clear on that
and especially when you have a team you
got to make sure that you communicate
that vision and those values to your
team because those vision those are
sorry those values of what's important
to you is what you're going to use to
determine how you hire people to make
sure that someone's the right fit how do
you know if someone's the right fit well
you got to make sure that they're the
right fit for the values that you guys
have so I'm just gonna reposition some
better lighting here right now my hot
tub on the rooftop here in Vancouver
just relaxing and enjoying it so we
reviewed the values that we have like I
said that's what's gonna determine
what's important to us the direction
that we go
you're gonna hire people based on your
values they're also gonna fire people
based on values to every company's got
values coca-cola Apple Adidas Nike all
the big companies that all have values
it's got to make sure you have that
maybe I'll do another video on that if
there's interest in it on project life
mastery okay then what we do so that's
just kind of review and again I find
it's very important to review this
because like I said it's very easy to
set a vision for your life values for
your life vision and values for your
business and then nobody looks at it
again it's like kind of what a what a
waste you know I believe in integrating
those things the way you integrate it is
you got to do regular check-ins and
review it so that everyone's on the same
page with that next thing we do is
feedback this is one of the most
valuable parts okay this is so powerful
guys I really hope hope and hope that
you guys take this and run with it this
is like a life changing game changer to
your personal life in your business it's
all about feedback now I believe that we
all need to receive feedback and assess
ourselves be very critical of ourselves
at certain times with the year to really
as a sense to develop a sense of
awareness about where we're at what we
what we're good at what we can improve
so that we can consistently make
progress and a lot of people that don't
really improve because they don't have a
ritual to assess themselves and you know
give them and have that opportunity to
receive that feedback so here's how this
works there's three people or my leaders
including myself three people on my
leadership team these are people that I
trust these are people that I work with
on a daily basis there's people people
that I highly value their opinion and
the feedback that they can provide and
especially when you're working with the
team of people
one thing that can happen is that you
know it's kind of like a marriage or
relationship there will always kind of
be little challenges that build up you
know frustrations you get annoyed
disagreements whatever might be and
oftentimes what happens is people they
hold on to it they build it up into
resentment and it gets very detrimental
and so I find that you got to make sure
that you have a safe supportive
environment where you can openly
communicate with one another to resolve
any of those potential issues that you
might have
be able to provide feedback for one
another and that way you can really get
it off your chest that resentment
dissipates and you grow and improve from
that so the way that it works is that
each person goes and they each share
first of all what they feel they're good
at and then what they feel that they can
improve okay so for example if I were to
go first I would say what I feel that
I'm good at I'm great at creating
content I feel I feel I'm really great
at setting goals and having visions and
you know I get ideas and I'm very fast
to implement those things I put them in
action and I'm a very fast worker and
I've got a great attention to detail
etc okay I'm gonna share the things that
I feel that I'm good at and when doing
it you're not doing it from a place of
ego but you're kind of doing it to
celebrate that acknowledge yourself
there's nothing wrong with that you know
you want to acknowledge what you feel
that you're good at and know what your
strengths are and then I share what I
feel that I can improve what I feel that
I'm not so great at and this is very
important because this allows you to
have self-awareness and I think that one
thing that has really allowed me to grow
in my life is I'm very self aware of my
weaknesses and what I'm not so great at
and I'm always conscious of that so I
can consistently overcome and improve
those things so for me you know I might
say that I what I feel I can improve is
communication with the team when I set
projects or goals I could do a better
job at really defining and spending more
time on the brief of that project and it
be very clear of all the details of it
so that I can effectively communicate
that to the team and they know to expect
and whatnot you know I feel that I could
create better systems and you know how
to be more responsive to certain things
etc so I'll share all the things that I
feel that I can improve okay and the
things that I could be better at and
then what happens is I then allow the
other people on my team to do the same
for me so I'll say Steve what do you
feel that I'm good at and what do you
think that I can improve okay my job
here is just to shut up and to listen
that's it and take notes I'm not here to
get defensive I'm not here to argue or
debate I might agree I might disagree
that's not
matter okay this is all done out of
trust it's all done out of love I want
my team to be totally honest with me and
me to be honest with them to have that
open communication we're not getting
defensive it's not an attack or anything
like that but it you know it's trying to
be sincere ins with the intent of
helping one another one another to
really grow and improve so Steve will
stay well Stefan this is what I feel
that you're great at and awesome thank
you I appreciate that
okay I write that down as well I
celebrate that you know that's really
incredible praise that I want to
acknowledge with myself and then he
gives me the improvement here Stefan
what you can do better you know things
that I feel that you can improve that
allows him to get that off his chest and
allows him to communicate in a safe way
not with me again I'm not getting
defensive I say thank you so much he's
just given me an incredible gift that
can allow me to improve and and and be
able to grow my role and what I'm trying
to accomplish I take those notes down
okay and a lot of that stuff that's
fantastic and I find why this is so
valuable is because we all have blind
spots we all have things that we don't
notice that we need other people to
point out within ourselves and that's
why coaching is an incredibly valuable
now if you're doing this process by
yourself you can still do this you can
acknowledge what you feel you're good at
and what you can improve okay you do
this every quarter like I said but if
you can also do this with people that
know you well people that are also
growth minded there might be your
friends your accountability group your
mastermind group it might be with a
coach or it might be with your team but
you're gonna get incredible insight just
through this process alone that will
allow you to grow in a massive way and
that's why I think this is so valuable
as you're getting that outside feedback
and again these are people that I really
trust and value their opinion they're
not you know random strangers these are
people that work with me on a regular
basis and that's one of my favorite ways
to receive feedback and coaching and
advice is from my coaches the people
that I work with the people that really
know me and can really offer me that
valuable insight then what happens is
the next person also does the same thing
for me as well
you know Tyrone on my tee will say
Stefan this is what I think you're great
at this is what I think you can improve
awesome thank you then
the next person goes we go to Steve I
say Steve so Steve first assesses
himself what he feels he's great at this
is what he can improve and then I do the
same for him the other person does that
as well
okay so already what's happened now is
we've we've really opened up the dynamic
he built a deeper relationship with
one's one another
we've been vulnerable in some way and
that is a really powerful bonding
exercise trust building exercise within
a team and I've gotten we've all gotten
incredibly valuable insights that can
then allow us to improve and get things
off of our chests okay
so that's the next part of the process
now what happens is now that we've done
individual feedback we take a step back
and we look at the business together so
project life master your business is a
separate entity than yourself and what
we do is we assess that so first what we
do is together as a group we
brainstorming we write this down this is
what we feel that project life mastery
has been great at you know or this is
what we feel that has been going really
well within project life mastery that we
want to celebrate and we just take a
time to acknowledge and celebrate
everything over the last 90 days that's
been great within project life mastery
you know we've done made incredible
progress on this or we've done a great
job on this
you know we've achieved this milestone
etc we take that time to celebrate that
if you don't reward yourself for the
little things and the big things then
you're not gonna reinforce that it's not
gonna you're not getting any momentum
from that so I believe that whatever it
gets reinforced whatever gets rewarded
gets repeated so you want to make sure
you acknowledge and your reward yourself
for that and then what we do is we ask
ourselves okay what can be better within
project life best mastery what's not as
good that can be improved and now I'm
getting insights I'm you know looking at
the business in the way the other people
in my team are as well and we're coming
up with a lot of ideas and insights on
what we can improve as a company okay no
company is perfect everyone needs a lot
of work and I always have a super long
list because I'm always aware of so many
things I think we could do better and
improve and and you know issues and
things of that nature that I think we
you know it's just a never-ending
process trying to grow and grow and
improve okay so this is what you do for
your business very very important look
at it get out to sit on it you know be
able to look at everything you can
improve with it okay and then what we do
is to be open it up to any ideas
suggestions anything moving forward we
can also add to that list that we can do
to help improve project life mastery and
then from there what we do is the next
part of the process is we we set goals
based on that and actions for the next
90 days okay so I love setting goals at
the beginning of the year very important
but as the year goes there's always
things that come up and change other
opportunities you got to be flexible and
adaptable throughout the year so every
90 days you kind of well first you
reassess the goals that you had for the
last 90 days which ones do you
accomplish and which ones did you not
accomplish why didn't you accomplish
them you really reflect on the goals
from the last 90 days and just do it
overall check in on the goals that you
set at the beginning of the year and
then for the next quarter now your going
into okay what do we want to focus on
for the next 90 days what are the goals
that we have and I always try to make
sure that we have goals in multiple
parts of my business and that each
individual on my team has a goal that
they're moving towards so the person
that's doing my social media I want them
to have a goal that they're moving
towards the person that is doing you
know videos and content I want goals
that they can move towards the people
they're doing that PPC in the marketing
I want goals they can move towards so
that we all have something that we can
move towards because people need goals
people need direction and by everyone
having goals that allows them to think
of ideas and things that they can
achieve the goal and what I also like to
do is try to reward people on achieving
their goals and also make sure that
their goals that they that everyone on
the team feels that they can accomplish
so I always try to make sure that our
goals our SMART goals so smart is an
acronym for specific measurable
attainable realistic and having a
timeline so I don't want to set a goal
for someone if they feel that they just
can't achieve it I don't want to set
them up for failure I want to make sure
that I can set them up to win and it's a
bit of a stretch for them but it's also
an achievable goal so that they can
rewarded for that I can reward them for
that etc okay so again if this is a I'm
kind of using the reference right now an
example of a business and having a
leadership team but if you don't have
that if it's just you you still do the
same thing for your personal life you
set you reflect on your goals over the
last 90 days and then you set some new
ones for the next 90 days okay the same
process that you would apply whether
it's just you or a group of individuals
okay or your team or your business so
now we have goals we have direction
we're excited so we're looking forward
to the next quarter we're excited for
the progress there's a lot of ideas that
have now flown from that and come from
this meeting thus far that we know is
gonna make an incredible difference now
another thing I'll mention too is that
you might have a long list of things to
improve or goals I try to simplify it I
try to narrow it down okay you know
we're not gonna improve everything that
we set out here over the next 90 days
and this is a never expanding list but
what are the most high-priority things
that we need to focus on for this
quarter and that we can accomplish and
then the next quarter after that then
we'll reassess and we'll look at some
new goals and new things that we can
move forward on and based on how things
have changed and then another piece that
we also add to this is in my business
and culture I want to make sure that
we're all growing roll improving that's
part of mastery I want to make sure that
my team is growing and coming up with
ideas and things like that that they can
then share with me and within project
life mastery so that we can grow the
business excuse me so I try to make sure
that everyone on my team every quarter
they're learning new things they're
going through trainings courses books
resources events whatever it might be
you know and you know these are all
things that I support my company with
and my team with I want them to develop
I invest in them just as I invest in
myself and you know whether that's them
learning a training on social media or
copywriting or video editing or some
sort of marketing thing or funnels or
webinars whatever it is you know I want
to make sure that everyone on the team
has training and information and
knowledge that they can develop that
will then ultimately help grow project
life mastery so what we do is everybody
shares what they've been learning what
you know what work they've done what
development have done on themselves and
then they share that with the group and
they share any ideas that they have
because I don't want just my team to
learn stuff but not actually implement
it the whole purpose of learning is to
actually have a plan and be able to
implement implement that into project
life mastery to help it grow
so I want to here in them to take
initiative on how what they can share
with me to help grow project life
mastery and then what we do after that
is for the next quarter okay what are we
each gonna commit to learning what books
are you gonna read what trainings or
courses are you gonna go through and
then we make sure that everyone on them
on the team not just myself or my
leadership team but everyone in my
business is got goals they're moving
towards and they've got they're all
growing of all going through some sort
of development to help grow the business
okay that's it guys that's the process
the meetings usually try to set it for
three hours is what it recommends but
sometimes it can take longer than that
sometimes especially it's the first time
you've done this it might take a full
day to do this okay but I highly
recommend this process guys this'll
really allows you to again take a step
back on your business look at things in
a critical way look at the big picture
work on the business on in it and again
if this is just you you got to assess
yourself you got to check in on yourself
you got to make sure that you treat
yourself as a business you treat
yourself like a professional you got it
you've got to really look at your self
growth and be serious about it you can't
just dabble with this guys this is your
life if you want to improve and get
better this is how you do it if you are
if your life is looking the same month
after month year after year and you
wonder why you're not growing you wonder
why you're not improving you wonder why
you're not getting results well this is
why it's because you're not taking this
seriously enough your life and your
business and you're not reflecting
you're not identifying your blind spots
and your weaknesses and overcoming it
and checking in on their goals and
re-evaluating or reassessing this is
what the most successful companies in
the world all do and you almost have to
act as if you are you know bigger than
you are you're gonna act as if that
you're a successful company and mall
you know that's a key secret of success
you get a model success model what other
people do that are successful you do
that you'll get similar results so
that's the process guys um it's it's
awesome we also do like a yearly meeting
retreat that we're starting to do as
well we we do obviously our team our
weekly team meetings too and there's a
number of the things we do in our
business but just want to share that
with you guys because I think could be
really valuable to you to help you grow
your life in your business and the
importance of it and how we're growing
project life mastery to be able to add
more value make more of a difference
okay guys I'm gonna turn on the Jets
here in the hot tub it's a nice way to
relax come up here once in a while too
just to kind of clear my mind and enjoy
the view up here and yeah just try to
enjoy things so thank you guys for
watching leave a comment looking for tea
here for you guys
and I'm just gonna chill for a little
bit longer and I'll talk to you guys
again soon take care
you
