calm I've got my laptop here on my lap
and I've been getting a lot of great
know making money online passive income
all these really crazy cool topics and I
thought I'd just spend a few minutes
here and answer them for you guys and
publish it up on the blog and on the
YouTube channel and so the first
question I have here is from Chad and he
says hey Steph and how long did it take
you before you started making money
online and how long will it take me to
start making money online so great
question so I'll tell you guys a little
bit how I got started
first of all mention it took me a long
time before I start making money online
years in fact I discovered internet
marketing my first business when I was
like 21 years old and I was doing
seminars and coaching here in Vancouver
BC on you know confidence developing
your social skills and all kind of stuff
and so I had to learn how to get people
to come out to my seminars you know by
promoting it on the Internet you know
and so I had to learn a little bit of
stuff here and there and that business
did okay but it wasn't until a little
bit a time after that where I really
wanted to make like passive income
online and make money online and I
started learning some of the different
methods out there and just educating
myself for free and the different
message boards and I had a few friends
that were into it so kind of asking them
questions I went through a few different
programs and courses and everything and
I learned how to do search engine
optimization all its kind of stuff and
I'm sure if you've looked around on the
internet there's like a million courses
and methods and strategies that are all
gonna tell you how to make money online
and how to get rich fast right so I got
really into that and I tried a lot of
different things but I struggled I
didn't have very good success at all you
know I was all over the place which i
think is a big challenge that people
have is they just can't focus on just
one thing you know they just have to
jump from this thing to the next thing
to the next thing it's like the shiny
object syndrome where they just get
distracted so easily and there's all
over the place with all these different
methods and ways and everything and a
lot of times you know people at least in
my case you try one thing and
kind of dabble with it you're not really
like fully committing to it doing it
but you kind of go through it and you
know maybe take one or two things from
there you go to the next thing and the
next thing but you often get
disappointed because you didn't make
like a million dollars like the program
promised you and then people get cheated
and this is my case at least I don't
know if you can relate to this but I was
disappointed I think none of this stuff
works it's all scam you sort of build
like this negative thing towards
internet marketing and everything you
know and really it's not the program of
the course necessarily in some cases it
is but it's really just committing
yourself and focusing on it fully for a
period of time and that's probably one
of the biggest things that I learned so
it to answer the question it took me a
few years before I really started making
money online I dabbled with it here and
there remember I was struggling I was
living in California in Ocean Beach in
San Diego and I was living in this
hostel for a for about a month and it
was like bunk beds and all this stuff
and I was just really frustrated my
other business because my business
partners were basically not committed to
it they were just doing their own things
and I was just you know this business
was all I had and so I had already
learned a bit about internet marketing I
decided you know I'm gonna go in a
totally different direction than what I
was doing and I'm gonna create a blog
and I'm gonna start to do some search
engine optimization to it and everything
and I started doing that and then like a
few months later I just I just left it
you know I just kind of did some little
bit of stuff with it I left it for a few
months and I went to a seminar and I
went to a millionaire mind intensive
seminar with T Harv Eker and he is
promoting this internet marketing course
and you know I didn't sign up for the
course but he was really just like
talking about internet marketing how
this is like the way of the future that
if you don't get it now you're gonna be
left behind that the Internet provides
awesome opportunity you can travel the
world you can leverage yourself
technology all this kind of stuff that's
going on that allows people to get make
a lot of money online and the
opportunity that it provides and they
are really excited after watching this
and I just like this light bulb clicked
off in my head I just felt really
motivated that like yeah you know I've
to make money on line I've got to get
back into that at the time I was living
in my friend's living room like
literally on his couch that you know it
was like a futon and I had like a
curtain that I put up like two separate
with like at night time so I could have
some privacy
I know I was broke I was in credit card
debt struggling financially and I just
decided I'm gonna work my ass off on
this and I'm gonna you know my the cool
thing is what happened was that blog
that I created a few months before in
California I went back to that I was
like wow I was actually getting visitors
some of the search engine optimization
stuff I did I actually started to work
and I was getting traffic and people
going to my website and so that I
thought you know why don't I try to make
money from this somehow you know and I
ended up creating an e-book that I sold
on it and I sold it for like 10 bucks at
first and I started to make some money
from it and really when you make your
first sale online your first dollar
that's really the most exciting part you
know so you get this incredible rush and
you feel excited you know how look I
didn't think this was possible someone
some someone some place in the world
bought my product and I made money from
it and I didn't have to it just
automated I didn't have to deliver it to
them ship it to them or anything it's
just delivered directly to them on the
internet and I directly get paid into my
bank account so it was a really cool
concept and from there really once you
make that first money online it really
starts to scale up from there and you
get to a point where it's like you get a
lot of momentum you know you get a like
a snowball where your your income just
like shoots up like this you know and
that's been my case I've had months and
years where my incomes doubled tripled
quadrupled like literally just gone up
massively because with the internet you
can just make a small change or tweak to
your website or your book or whatever it
is scale it up in some way and it can
just explode and you know so that's the
answer the first part of your question
kind of rambling on here but took me a
few years from a start I was very
committed to it I did not give up like a
lot of people do okay so if you're in my
position you're in a position where
you're struggling do not give up okay
just
about it and understand it's a process
it does take time for some people some
people get rich fast right some people
you hear about them and making money
like just so fast I've got some members
of my program that are like that you
know there's making thousands of dollars
a month and they've been doing it for
like a month or two right some people
take some a longer period of time
sometimes you know there's a lot of
factors that go into that but in your
case to the second part of your question
how long will it take you really as long
as you know as long as you want it to
take depends on how committed you are
how much time effort commitment you're
really committed to focusing on it how
much you're willing to invest in
yourself you know the more that you
wanted to do that stuff or take that
risk
the sooner you're gonna become
successful that's not just true with
internet marketing but it's true with
any business any career any goal that
you have in your life the more committed
you are the faster you're gonna get
results and the more results you're
gonna get okay I've had some people with
Kindle publishing that realistically
this is what I believe realistically you
could be making money within the first
month okay I mean the moment you got
your Kindle book published people
getting you know it's available for sale
people can start buying it it's really
not until you start market marketing it
and ranking your Kindle book and getting
reviews for it that's when you know the
money will start to take off for it but
realistically a month two months you can
start making money you know with at
least Kindle publishing some methods out
there when I used to do some the blog
does in search engine optimization it
could take a few months to make money
like at least three four five six months
simply because when you're doing SEO
search engine optimization you want it
to look natural and authentic meaning
you want to publish content over the
period of a few months and you want to
send back links and links to your
website over months as well because if
you just you know do everything
overnight then it's not going to look
natural and authentic to Google and
Google will penalize your website so
some methods take longer than others but
again it's how committed are you how
much time how you know how how committed
are you to publishing Kindle books
putting out more books going through the
process recycle you know just going
through it again again and again
you know the people that are successful
are the ones that are really are
committed to it but realistically you
know you could start making money within
a month to three months from now you
know the amount of money totally depends
on the individual the scale that you're
doing it at I know members that are
making thousands of dollars a month on
Kindle by following my program within
three months of starting it you know and
it just blows my mind and I've had
people that take some a year some people
just go at it really really slow some
people are just lazy too and this they
you know they start the program and they
just they start one book and then just
go on to the next thing so so again it
comes down to commitment but I think
it's realistic realistic and attainable
for you to start making money within one
to three months and really the most
important thing is just get started now
the sooner you get started as soon as
