How This Single Mom Makes $500,000 PER MONTH On Amazon



hey everyone this is stefan from
projectlifemastery.com and today I'm
being joined with Angie Chacon she is a
super successful Amazon seller she's
gonna share with you guys her story in
two years he went from zero to five
hundred thousand dollars a month on
Amazon and you're a mother of four kids
and I don't want to spoil it for you
guys I'll let you share this story but I
just wanna say thank you for taking the
time and being willing to share because
I know a lot of people that are watching
you listen to this they're just getting
started on their journey to building an
online business and I think we all need
more references and examples and role
models of what's possible so how did so
how did you get started when did you
join amazing a selling machine and I'd
love to hear about your journey since
then sure so about two and a half years
ago started the amazing selling machine
and you know I hate to say but I was
sort of like at the bottom at that time
I was broke I had just gone through a
divorce of many years and so I was kind
of starting over in my life supporting
four kids and just okay you know what am
I gonna do I'm kind of starting life and
I found the amazing selling machine I
had friends that were doing it and you
know they were doing well so I thought
okay this is an opportunity and it's a
little familiar with e-commerce though
not something I had done much of right
but you know let's go to computers and I
do Facebook and I was you know okay I
was knowledgeable enough and I had a
product idea brand in mind so I kind of
went that route and
probably just like most people let's
start the beginning was rocky yeah so
it's finding the product and is it the
right product and I did pick the wrong
product at first right so I didn't quite
you know follow all the criteria and I
know how do you pick the best product so
I but it gave me the knowledge like I
got to go through the motions of like
this is what I should do and all cases
you know this works just didn't work and
it put the system in place so then after
maybe a month or two I was like ah I
think I need to look at maybe a
different product and so I'd say
persistence is kind of the key because I
know people that do that they'll find
the wrong product and then they quit
yeah so I was like well there's no
option for me to go ahead yeah so good
next products and luckily it was good
actually did well yeah and I launched it
and I think about a month later and
launched another one and about a month
later I launched another one I kind of
found that the magic number at that time
was having like three products right
away was really a good thing
is it worth by the way starting with one
or two do three just kind of see get
your feet wet because I guess multiple
products to be were expensive for
someone to get started with to you right
yeah I mean definitely I did start with
the one product and I went through two
months of that really like fine-tuning
everything so at that point in time even
though it was the wrong product I it was
kind of I knew what I needed to do I
knew what was going to work for me and
how I was going to launch my second one
so it's kind of easy at that point just
okay you know put into their product and
just duplicate the motions of what I did
on the first one and then after that it
was kind of just easier I mean I kind of
figured out a way
kind of get products and not have to pay
upfront for them it's like I was you
know I had to be very strategic and a
little bit clever with how I started
because I had no credit and I had no
cash flow and like okay I'm starting on
a shoestring and how I'm gonna do this
so it was challenging but I just did it
and I mean I might sell I might have
just sent 25 units at a time is it
whatever I had to do I did it and made
it work and then once I had those few
products it just kind of kept rolling
and I kind of kept adding you know every
quarter so I was adding a few more
products and the next thing I know I was
like I think within six months that was
another kind of key thing for me was it
I didn't take anything out of it for six
months so I actually worked like double
time I did my Amazon job and then I had
another full-time thing that I did that
just kind of paid the bills like nothing
on Amazon business yes you need more
inventory if you really want to expand
fast it's like the money goes back in
the auditory and you're expanding more
products and it's just you know so he
kind of have to do that so I found
six-month was sort of my happy spot
online
okay now I'm actually making enough
profit I can take some to live on you
know quit this other thing and just go
full-time and that was so I think I was
due about 60,000
for six months and then within a year I
was like at a hundred thousand and a few
months later I was a two hundred
thousand and then later there's a two
and half years later she's doing half a
billion that's amazing congratulations
yeah I love that and I'd love to just
kind of go back to the mindset that you
had because you know a lot of people
they fear failure right and they worry
so much but that first prop what if it
doesn't work out or what if I you know
you know lose money and you know we've
taught two other people you can always
recoup back your inventory and a loss of
time is not really a loss because you
learned right the things that you learn
from that benefited you but what made
you keep going like did you just have so
much belief in this as an opportunity or
like why didn't you give up when that
first product was the wrong one um I
guess I didn't really feel like I had a
choice it's like this is what I decided
to do I knew people that it was working
for I don't that was actually sort of
also inspiring things for me because it
was working for others so we knew it
worked you know it couldn't just not
work for me it's worked for them so I I
knew if I just kept persisting and doing
what was workable and the follow systems
successful actions of others I know I
can make this happen so
I was just like this works so just
persist just doing it and then right I
see some people that get really crazy
into their first product and lots of
customization and maybe they order like
a really big excess in inventory and as
I say make the process take longer and
they make it a lot more complex and if
that first product doesn't work out for
them it's a much bigger loss and like
maybe they're very passionate about it
so it's kind of maybe a heartbreak or so
like don't do that
like it started something right away I
mean so my first product wasn't awesome
but it was something I had pretty
readily available so within you know a
month of kind of starting I was able to
just get a product up on Amazon and
selling and that was sort of key I think
to like the momentum because I feel like
the length of time it takes you to kind
of succeed at something the more chance
there is a failure there's like so many
more time to be like well this is not
working out or not making the money and
watching me this is not the right game
for me right I'm just like speed is I
think very good yeah it's amazing you
know I think also what's inspiration
about you is that you know you did it
you said you're at the low point in your
life you were going through a divorce
you you know I think you said you had a
job that you also have we also had four
kids and there's a lot of women I know
that are watching this mothers that are
looking at this as an opportunity and
oftentimes it could be a limitation you
know the view I can't do this because
I'm a mom and I'm you know busy with
this or I've got my job so you know what
would you say for people in that
circumstance you know about making a
work it's definitely I mean it's doable
yeah so I mean I still had to get up
take my kids to school
run a household and cover all the bills
and go to soccer practice and whatever
it's like I had to still do all that and
you know it's a matter of just do it you
know I didn't take much time out for
other stuff you know like I'm not
watching TV at night I'm not going out
partying I'm not you know screwing off
I'm like I'm focused and I know that it
takes a lot of hard work especially when
you're first establishing something and
and dedication and passion I mean
hopefully the product you're choosing is
something you're somewhat passionate
about because if you really like and
enjoy what you're doing you're going to
persist and put that a little bit we're
short into it don't fall off your horse
you back on a little bit easier yeah how
many products do you have now I have 40
40 we're all on the same brand it's a
whole game great and so and that's
another I find that could be a mistake
people make as they jump they create new
brands instead of catering to the one
and finding more ways that you can meet
their needs and really serve them yeah
because it's so easy to keep you have a
product and it's in a certain brand or
category it's so much easier to find
well what other products in that same
category with the same people want to
what they want to buy so it's you can
cross sell now and promote your existing
customers about this one it's like oh
here I also have this now and right once
I started having like three or four
products
I started getting tons of like multiple
people buying yeah you know somebody I
model that start to actually be a high
percentage of my sales was that which
was awesome awesome yeah and what do you
see is some of the mistakes that people
make when they're first starting this
business
um
you know a lot of people kind of get
their first product and they get it up
and I don't know if they're expecting
that first product it'd be doing a
million dollars a month or right a
hundred thousand dollars a month or
whatever I think some people have too
high expectations send up they're not
like some products are five a day
selling kind of a products yeah maybe
because of competition or the
competitiveness of the product or
whatever so for me it's like okay
alright that's gonna do five a day final
that's still a huge win right because
it's loose to you the concept and it
gives you confidence too right yeah so
just like kind of quitting at that first
product or saying I was only gonna do
like this much well yeah 10x fact 20x
that just more product more products
yeah and I think also you know fortunate
there's a lot of get rich quick type
stuff there and that's not this I mean
this is a legitimate business that
you're building something that you can
depend upon you know quit your job build
a lifestyle around but it's requires a
lot of work it's gonna take time to do
so and in the end it's worth it you know
some people I know they happen to do
really well fast but you know a lot of
other people it's it's a journey I know
for myself it took me a long time to be
able to get to where I'm at today
and I think everyone is a little bit
different I want to wrap up here but any
final tips that you have tips for people
that are just making that transition or
taking that leap of faith to build an
online business one thing that I would
say is definitely realize you're doing
this as an entrepreneur it was like you
said like a lot of people come in think
I'm just gonna make extra money on the
side or just kind of make some money
easy kind of thing but it is actually it
is a business and it does it's gonna you
know it's like you have to come in with
that mindset of like I am now a business
owner and I'm an entrepreneur and I'm
gonna do Amazon but you're not like an
Amazon
like you you don't have an Amazon
business do you have a business you have
an e-commerce business an Amazon is just
one part of it to be kind of coming with
that mindset on the business owner and
I'm gonna like really own this and
all aspects of it and put in what's
required and it kind of just makes a big
difference I agree and I think people
that just approach it as a hobby or
something like that
they're not going to treat it the same
way you know you have to put in the time
the hours you get to treat it like a
legitimate this a may have to put in the
money you might have to invest in the
training the resources that you need to
succeed and that's just the reality of
what it takes to succeed in a business
but mind you after like two years for me
it's like I've traveled more than last
year than I've ever traveled my whole
life and that more free time yeah I've
had more expendable passion I've been
able to have financial freedom to do all
sorts of things I never thought so that
can be there yes the beginnings are a
lot of work
go ahead it can be fast so just depends
