so my biggest struggle is with
consistency / accountability those maybe
things yep
some of it's because there's no
consequence nobody's there competing
with me I seem to thrive
situations right and that's why I think
what solves it you know for me it's
often times we need external forces
because if you're just accountable to
yourself and you commit to a goal you
could easily back out because there's no
consequence nobody knows right but if
you're accountable to others you're way
more likely to follow through and so
that's why having either a coach or a
mastermind accountability and doing the
weekly where there's a consequence if
you don't do it you've got people that
are coaching you making sure you're
consistent
you know stuff for me that's always been
the solution to it maybe as time goes on
you can get a grasp of it and really
handle it and that you know you might
not need that as much but I believe that
everybody needs that anyways everybody
needs a coach or that accountability
system because even if you can do it by
yourself you'll get more out of yourself
when you have other people holding you
to a higher standard
right so why does the best athletes in
the world have coaches it's because they
can get more from them they're able to
see things from a different perspective
notice their blind spots call them out
on their little you know tweet tweak
things here and there and call them out
on you know different things to make
sure that they're performing at a higher
standard so it sounds like that's just
something that you need and and this
this is a group that can allow you to do
that you can create that in your own
life you know other peers or people that
can help you do it but often times I
actually recommend not having a friend
coach you or not having a friend because
oftentimes they'll kind of let you let
you off the hook on things or they won't
speak the truth or call you out or
challenge you and then oftentimes what's
better than just two people is at least
three people because I've found in the
past if you just have an accountability
buddy and there's two people then if one
person is not doing well then they're
gonna be easier on the other person
because they don't want they know that
they're not at the high level themselves
so for example if I didn't do my things
this week I'm gonna probably go easier
on you because I didn't do my thing yeah
so when you actually have more the
to at least three people then there's
another person that can help make sure
that it's that you're getting the most
of yourself so for me that that really
is the solution for it is having people
in her life that hold you to that high
standard that challenge you I'll share a
few a story as far as from twenty
robbins tony robbins he went to speak to
the US marines and he gave this great
speech and there's like a thousand
Marines that were out there and he got
them all fired up in pumps and then
afterwards the general talked to Tony
said Tony that was amazing you know you
really moved these people and he said
can I ask you a question you know what I
found is that you know people that hear
these Marines right now they have the
highest standards they'll ever have in
their life I mean they've got to wake up
at a certain time they got to make sure
that their bed is made perfect and their
boots are perfectly shined they're gonna
be super fit and active there's certain
standards it's amazing the standards
that they have but one thing I noticed
is that oftentimes these Marines when
they leave this environment and they
leave and they go back to their regular
lives for a lot of them the standards
drop and some of them they just you know
become lazy they procrastinate they're
not consistent you know they don't have
that competition I mean he says why is
that are people just lazy do people need
someone to babysit them so here's what
he said you said no it's not because
they're lazy it's because people's lives
are a direct reflection of the
expectations of their peer group okay
it's worth writing down people's lives
are a direct reflection of the
expectations of their peer group when
you have a peer group you've got an
environment I call it an empowering
ecosystem and you have people that
demand high standards of you you'll
always live up to it you know if you if
you want to lose weight and you get
around people that you know have low
standards for that then that's going to
influence you if you get around people
that are active and fit they have high
standards then you're gonna raise up to
those standards as well so your
environment is very very powerful
and one thing I've heard is that you
can't overcome your environment you know
if you've got a negative one it's very
challenging to overcome that that's why
you're gonna have an empowering one and
one that supports you and just
understand the US Marines you know they
struggle with this all right so it's the
environment that helps create that right
now we're in an environment that we're
holding each other to a high standard
afterwards you're gonna be held to a
high standard as well much higher than
you ever could on your own so I think it
stopped
maybe expecting yourself to be able to
do it all on your own you know I'm
thinking that you have to be perfect or
super consistent and create the
environment that will push you and
challenge you to that
you
