How To Create Lasting Motivation In Your Life

alright guys step in here from quadric
life master comm bringing you another
video blog and this one is on the
subject of motivation probably one of
the most important subjects that you
need to master in your life because
without motivation you're not gonna be
able to achieve or get yourself to do
anything you know we all want more
motivation we all want to find more ways
that we can get ourselves to follow
through and motivation for me it's that
driving force it's that fuel it's those
reasons that pull you towards achieving
great things in your life and if you
really think about it everything that
you do requires motivation right maybe
the motivation is pain alright you know
want to avoid something or maybe the
motivation is pleasure you're pulled
towards if something because you believe
it's gonna give you certain pleasure you
know I think Jim Rohn had to sing that
motivation is like taking a warm bath
every day you know you need to do it
every day you need to bathe you need to
shower yourself every day and motivation
is the same way it's not like you just
have motivation and all of a sudden
you've got it for life of course not
you'll have to always motivate yourself
and find ways to get yourself motivated
and I think you know I've learned a lot
about motivation being self-employed and
being an entrepreneur because you know
often times you need to find reasons and
ways to achieve certain goals and your
motivation might change over the years
after you know once you hit a certain
stage and I know for myself when I first
started my journey you know being broke
and struggling and frustrated in my life
my motivation was more to try to get
away from pain you know I was just sick
and tired of being in debt I was sick
and tired of being broke and struggling
and being alone and being shy and
introverted and and having no confidence
no self-esteem not being able to do this
not being able to do that that pain was
a motivator for me to really propel me
towards my goals but what happens though
when you achieve your goals what happens
when you have abundance in your life you
have money you have a relationship you
have health you know your life is great
then do what motivates you right it's
not those same reasons so you always
have to find things that motivate you
and you know
constantly really learn about yourself
your triggers and what pulls you towards
achieving goals at that next level so
it's a really great subject you know
motivation really thinking about it
really trying to understand yourself and
identifying the triggers the factors
what really motivates you because I
believe for everybody it's different and
now when I was thinking about this today
I was thinking you know there's really
two different types of motivation
there's internal motivation and then
there's external motivation and I think
a lot of people are driven by external
motivation and external motivation is
basically when you need to be motivated
by someone else you know you need to
watch a youtube video in order to be
motivated or you know you're motivated
to make a certain amount of money right
or to have a car or to get a great
girlfriend or a great boyfriend you know
to you know be able to travel you know
things like that these are all external
forces that can motivate us the
challenge with that though as I said is
it's not sustainable because you know
once you get that car once you get that
girlfriend that boyfriend or that
six-pack or you know the million dollars
or whatever it is you know what's gonna
motivate you after that right like once
you already have all those great things
you know a lot of people once they
achieve those things and they're driven
by that external motivation they Plateau
or they crash you know it's kind of like
the person that makes a million dollars
and then all of a sudden he doesn't have
any motivation to work anymore and so
basically he just like does nothing all
day because he doesn't have any reasons
nothing to motivate him to that next
level because you know once you have a
million dollars or a couple million
dollars or whatever making it another
million dollars or extra hundred
thousand dollars it probably isn't gonna
make that much of a difference in your
life you know once you buy one sports
car
the second sports car isn't as cool it's
not as exciting now once you buy one
house the second house isn't as exciting
and cool you know it's mainly that that
initial journey that you made to that
certain level that certain point of
success and then after that doesn't
motivate you as much because part of you
realizes that you know having more
things more cars more
houses more money isn't really gonna
make you happy you know I think there
was a study done that you know going
from you know the range of going up to
us I think seventy thousand dollars a
year has the biggest increase in
someone's level of happiness but beyond
seventy thousand I think 60,000 or
70,000 per year it doesn't really make
much of an impact on the person's level
of happiness right their happiness level
kind of plateaus so money doesn't really
make you that much happier once you're a
core basic needs and fundamentals are
taken care of of course you can have
some happiness you know for a moment you
know like a little boost when you buy
something make a dopamine rush that can
maybe last for a few hours or a few days
or a few weeks or a few months but it
eventually fades and then you need to
have more external things to to get you
motivated or to have that that same
excitement that same rush so there's a
that external motivation okay and I
think we need some of that to some
extent okay but that can't be the number
one drive in your life because again
it's not sustainable you know if you're
just driven by you know you're alone in
your life and you don't have a partner
and so you're really driven to change
your life so that you can get a
girlfriend or a boyfriend you know what
happens when all of a sudden when you
get that person now you're just all of a
sudden you're that motivation goes away
you know or take it you know a
bodybuilder or an athlete or something
like that they're motivated getting
great shape because they want to have a
great boyfriend a great girlfriend or
you know they just want to have that
status or that Authority or you know
just being the limelight or whatever it
is and once they achieve that though and
you look at all these bodybuilders or
these people you know what happens to
their body after that you know a lot of
these people like these body builders
from back in the 70s and 80s you know
they're all overweight now they have
health problems or you know you see
people are getting great shape they get
that great girl from her boyfriend and
all of a sudden just let themselves go
you know how many people do that when
they're married right it's like you know
I'll you know when you're single and
stuff you want to look your best and
whatever you dress well you're getting
great shape because you're motivated to
attract someone and all of a sudden you
get them and you get married to them
people just let themselves go because it
was an external motivator
drove them in order to you know I
attract that person into their life so
in my opinion that's not sustainable you
can have a bit of that but that can't be
your number one driving force the other
one is the internal motivation which i
think is even more important it's when
you're not dependent on these external
factors to get motivated and when you
have that internal motivation it's more
sustainable you know that internal
motivation could just be you know you
you know wanting to grow in your life
because growth is unlimited right
there's no peak there's no maximum level
that you can really grow in your life
you know we always need to grow and I
think if you can be motivated by that
that's a more sustainable strategy for
long-term success in your life if you're
always trying to grow and that's your
motivator or another one could just be
really loving what you do having passion
for whatever it is that you're doing you
know that's a more sustainable thing as
well
you know if for example you're driven by
you know trying to you know work out and
great getting great shape because you
want a girlfriend or you want to have
status or be cool in something like that
that's not gonna last but if you're
driven to work out because you love it
it's a passion for you you're not you
don't care about the vanity of how you
look in the mirror you're not doing it
for any external reasons you're just
doing it for yourself and you love and
sir passion then it doesn't matter what
other people think it doesn't matter
whether or not you get a girlfriend or
not you know you're always gonna be
driven to do that because you have that
internal love and desire within yourself
another core one that is sustainable is
wanting to give and contribute to others
okay I think contribution is one of the
most powerful motivators that we can all
have and unfortunately most people
they're such a nascar sea mentality in
their lives that they're so focused on
themselves or so selfish you know they
want to achieve their goals just out of
selfish reasons that they don't really
think about wanting to help other people
you know I've been very blessed because
when I was 21 years old I've always been
this way I've always been the type of
person you know my my first business was
being a coach dating coach because I
wanted to help other people that had
social anxiety ahead
that had the same you know upbringing
that I had I wanted to help people that
was my primary motivator of course money
is still a motivator you know and some
of those external things are as well I'm
not gonna lie to you about that but
that's not my driving force you know my
ultimate driving force is contribution
and growth meeting those needs are more
important for me than making a certain
amount of money I found that money
doesn't really motivated me much anymore
once I already have some money because
more money just means more money in the
bank you know it just means more maybe
more some stocks that you can maybe buy
or maybe like another real estate
investment property that you can just
kind of have you know in your portfolio
you know it doesn't have that same
motivator to you so contribution let's
go back to that one because I think this
is very very important now you've
probably heard me say this from Tony
Robbins or you know what some
motivational speakers all say this as
well is that you know in order to empty
wealthy in your life it comes down to
adding more value to other people's
lives more value than anyone else will
right if you could do that and you can
make your focus on adding value in
helping people then the wealth will come
because if you can identify and define a
certain problem that people have and you
focus on solving that problem you focus
on helping people meeting the needs of
other people then sure enough you know
you're gonna make money from that
because you're helping so many people
that they're gonna want to pay you for
their products services or whatever
problems that you're solving you know in
the market with your business or product
right that's a core critical piece to
success but the key is is that you need
to put helping other people and adding
value that has to be more important than
what you're gonna get and receive I
recently just put up a really great
image on my Instagram not sure if you
follow me on Instagram or not but you
should because I put up a lot of really
really great profound positive
motivational stuff on my Instagram page
and you can just search my name on
Instagram or project like master you'll
find me there but you know it was uh I
came across this uh this this kind of
like written notes page that Tony
Robbins wrote and basically it said
at my success in life we will be based
on what I give not what I take can I'm
gonna say that again cuz I think it's
really important my success in life will
be based on what I give not what I take
not what I get back and he actually
wrote this
you know it's written out when he was a
young boy before he became a
multi-millionaire before he impacted
millions of people's lives and that is a
man who truly is driven by contribution
of course he wants to make money of
course you know everybody wants has some
selfish reasons as well but that's not
his driver that's why I was driving
force because if it was then you know
you'd retire a long time ago right he
still wouldn't be in his 50s you know
going in 60s and still contributing and
wanting to add value you know people
just wanted to make money then again
like I said a certain point you make a
certain amount and then you probably
just retire and just have a great
lifestyle ok but his motivation is not
based on cars or money or things like
that it's based on
contributing to other people growing and
proving themselves and making a
difference if you can tap into that tap
into that internal motivators and tap
into the drive of wanting to meet other
people's needs of caring about your
customers about caring about your
followers wanting to make a difference
wanting to change the world and you'll
have unlimited unstoppable levels of
motivation
they'll be sustainable never go away
because there's no plateau in the amount
of people that you can impact there's no
maximum that you can achieve in your
level of contribution it's infinite if
you must go on forever
and we all need to tap into that so
that's what I want to explore with you
today in this video I want you to tap
into not just external motivators
but tap into your internal motivation if
you struggle with motivation man it just
tells me that you don't have strong
enough reasons and convictions that are
gonna drive you towards achieving what
it is that you want and towards
achieving any goal that you might have
right so you need to find something that
you care about so much more than
yourself
and oftentimes that's your customer that
could also be your product as well but
the thing with your product is that the
market can change your product might not
be as relevant or you know maybe you
have to create new products so I think
loving your product is great but loving
your customer your followers your fans
if you can fall in love with them and
you just are obsessed with finding a way
to add value and trying to serve them
then I think that's the most powerful
motivator of all you know I think
there's there's different levels of
consciousness and like I said most
people are very selfish right they're
they're in a very egocentric place in
their lives and an egocentric place is
where you're just focused on yourself
you know it's about me me me me me you
know you just want to make a certain
amount of money you just want to have
this car you just want to have a
six-pack because of this you want to
have this relationship because of this
you you only want other people to meet
your needs and things like that we're in
a ego centric place you know how much
power the next level though is
ethnocentric ethnocentric is where
basically you not just only care about
your needs but you care about the needs
of your family the people around you and
you know all of a sudden you care about
supporting your family you know
oftentimes when people have a family
they achieve a next level of motivation
in their lives because it's not just
about them anymore but it's about taking
care of it and supporting their family
supporting their wife supporting their
kids you know having a kids want to go
to a great school or something like that
you know taking care of your parents
maybe or your siblings you know that's
another level if you can tap into that
level of consciousness and evolve
yourself beyond just yourself then
you're gonna have more power in your
life you're gonna have more motivation
and you know more convictions to do
great things but the next level though
is being a world centric and being world
centric means you don't just care about
yourself you don't just care about your
family but you care about the world you
care about humanity you want to make a
difference to everyone in the world you
you care about everyone out there you
know with you guys on my youtube video
I'm you know I go through different
levels but in order for me to do what I
do
giving away great content for you guys
taking time to record these videos I
have to be in
worldcentric place I I can't just be
focused on my own needs because you know
there's too many easier ways to make
money just selfishly you know the
strategy that I've chosen to use is just
putting my message out there sharing
motivation ideas things that I'm
learning with you guys and people out
there people that you know may be
potential we'll never do business you
know with me we'll never you know buy
anything that I have to offer and that's
totally okay you know but I just want to
put this out there because I want to
help people well that's my number one
driving force in my life is to make an
impact in the world and if I get
anything back and people you know
receive value from this and you know
want to buy a product or service or
something that I have to offer then
great you know I'm more than happy about
that because that helps me keep going
because you know the better that my
business does then you know the bigger
things that I can do in this world the
bigger ways that I can impact and do
more videos and build a team and build a
bigger business and more products and
services that can make it even bigger
impact right so the world centric key
piece is critical tapping into that
place where you don't just care about
like I said yourself or your family but
you care about everyone you care about
strangers people you don't even know
people on the other side of a lens you
know on the other side of a computer
people other parts of the world you know
you care about them and you generally
want to make a difference in their life
if you can take that on if you can have
that level of caring that level of
passion of wanting to truly make a
difference that you really grasp that in
your mind as Tony Robbins said is your
success is based on what you give not
what you get if you can really take that
on man you're not gonna have to worry
about motivation anymore you're always
gonna have this drive inside yourself to
do more to create more to create more
products services solve people's
problems because really that's all
really what business is is solving
people's problems at a profit so some
questions that I have for you can I'll
wrap this up why do you care about your
customer a way to think about that you
know if you're in business and even you
know for if you have a job I found jobs
you're challenging because when you have
a job most people the employee mentality
is a very selfish position
because you're just trying to extract
from your employer not all employees but
most they want to extract from their
employer it's all about you know
punching the clock you know they're not
gonna work extra they don't want to give
more unless they're gonna get back it's
like a trade right and usually it's all
about meeting their needs first so I
find the employee mentality if you have
a job it's that's one challenge with
that whereas when you're self-employed
or an entrepreneur I find that you
become a better person because you know
you don't get paid based on your time
you get paid only on the difference that
you make the value that you provided and
usually you could provide value first
and then you get something back right
whereas in your job it's like you're
providing value directly getting paid
for that right your business it's like I
can you know when I first started my
blog a YouTube channel for a year I put
out tons of content videos I didn't get
anything back I didn't make any money I
maybe like a few you know a couple
hundred bucks here and there or whatever
but I wasn't doing it for money because
like I said there's much easier ways to
make money than that I just kept putting
out videos cuz I loved it I wanted to
help people make a difference and I knew
that eventually maybe I'll get something
back great but if not then that's okay
too I still get a lot of value from this
as well so tapping into that place going
back to that question why do you care
about your customer why do you care
about your customer why do you really
care about them why do you respect them
what do you love about them these are
all questions I always ask myself you
know why do I care about this person
because if I can make a picture of you
on the other side of this camera you
know and know the impact that I can make
in your life and I can associate to why
I care you know why I respect you why I
want to help you why I want to make a
difference then that gives me more
motivation to create these videos and
not only that allows me to communicate
with a deeper sense of passion
commitment and just doing whatever's
necessary to build the impact some you
know that's that's my power that's um
powerful motivator it's a driving force
that for the rest of my life I'm never
gonna retire because I can't you know
all my job's not done there's always
more
value that I can give there's always
more people that I can help out there
it's not like I just achieved a certain
level and all of a sudden I just retire
and do nothing and I like I said we need
something that motivates us and when you
have that growth and you have that
contribution and that really matters to
you in your life then and you're gonna
be doing whatever mission that you have
till you die because you believe in it
so much you love it so much you're
growing it's infinite the growth that
you can have and the level of
contribution that you can make is
infinite as well you know there's like I
said there's never you know there's
never people out there that don't need
your help there's always people out
there that need help and love to receive
your value so hopefully you enjoyed this
video make you think about things a
little bit differently I think it's
important to have some of that external
motivation but just understand that's
not gonna last you know it's not gonna
last
just being motivated externally you have
to find that internal motivation within
yourself and for me it's been
contribution and the great thing with
that as well as it leads to a lot of fit
film in your life it leads to a lot of
joy and happiness and the same thing
with growth as well so thank you for
