How To Develop Habits Of Success

any new habit takes time to develop
right so initially at the beginning
stages of a habit taking action actions
to have it to write morning rituals or
working on your business or you know
it's a habit you got to develop
understand the beginning phase of that
is the hardest time to develop it but
once you've been doing something for a
while it becomes easy it becomes
something like brushing your teeth right
so you've all heard takes 21 days
developed a habit
some people say 30s that people say 70
is different you know but basically just
initially it takes an ex period of time
to be able to establish a habit a good
way of looking at it I'll also heard -
is like a rocket ship going to space it
requires 80% of its fuel just to get
outside of the Earth's atmosphere so
when you develop a new habit like using
the stopwatch or taking action in your
business it's going to require the most
amount of energy and fuel to really
establish that as a habit but once that
rocket ships in space it doesn't require
much fuel at all
so I think you know one thing that I've
learned with developing new habits I
would say ok it's going to take 30 days
one thing I always do is a 30 day
challenge ok so a 30 day challenge I've
done this around morning rituals I've
done this around working out I've done
this around waking up early I've done
this around actually scheduling my time
and planning it and everything I've done
this around building my business I've
done this around pretty much everywhere
in my life I'm going to do a 30 day
challenge and what I'm going to do is
every day I'm going to just practice and
develop this one habit by the end of 30
days it's going to be something that's
going to be more integrated in me and
more more of a habit now what can help
you with those 30 days is the
accountability in fact I actually in my
morning ritual mastery course I have a
30 day morning ritual challenge and what
I often tell people to do is every day
make a post on your social media one
thing that you did for your morning
ritual over 30 days or you could declare
that to people you could declare that to
the group and say hey guys every day I'm
doing this morning ritual or I'm doing
this new habit and I
want you to hold me accountable to it
another thing another form of
accountability that I've done if you
have a coach or if you have someone in
the group or in the Facebook group for
example that we have you say okay every
day I'm going to do this I've got to
make a post an update every day if I
miss a day and I didn't do it
then there's the consequence okay I'm
going to give you guys the you know $10
for every day that I miss to donate to a
charity I have to check in and do this
and here's also a trick to if you have a
hard time doing that is to give the
money in advance so here candy here's
100 bucks only give me that money back
once I post it every day for the next
thing they did is to do that if not you
get to keep it you get to do whatever
you want with it
yeah and here's the other thing too
consequences are good consequences are
good short-term pain is a good
short-term motivator but it's a horrible
long-term one long-term you need
pleasure so what I recommend that you do
is have a reward that you'll give
yourself by the end of the 30 days so
maybe that reward is you're going to go
on a vacation maybe that reward is
you're going to get a massage maybe the
reward is you're going to you're going
to that hundred bucks that you want to
give Kenny you're going to go and you're
going to take yourself to dinner or that
hundred bucks you're going to go and you
know buy buy something that you want to
treat yourself or you're going to go on
a shopping spree right so have some sort
of reward because I think that's really
what you know these rewards should be
you know for me I like to set things up
okay if I achieve this goal then I'll
reward myself on that trip or that
vacation I like to set it up even
throughout the day okay
I want to watch the basketball game or
sports but that will be my reward for
having a productive day right so I
treated hey you know I'm rewarding
myself and whatever you reward will get
repeated we get reinforced and then
that's a powerful way to develop habits
is that when you do to habit you've got
to reward yourself for it so that can be
patting yourself on the back or giving
yourself a high-five or you know looking
yourself in the mirror and saying great
job you know for me whenever I go to the
gym if you catch me up going up in the
elevator if no one's there I look in the
mirror and I look at myself it's a great
job you know you went to the gym you
pushed yourself you know and I'll reward
myself I'll acknowledge myself for that
because the more that you do
it's rewarded so that's how they train
animals and human behavior is really the
same way you know the way that the Train
dolphins is that for they reward it with
fish and that conditions it but also one
thing they do is they do a jackpot the
jackpot is every once in a while it's
very spontaneous so they don't know when
it's going to happen they'll just give
that you know that dolphin a bucket of
fish and what happens is all these nerve
pathways for firing off and linking to
condition the pleasure they get to that
behavior so reward is also very powerful
consequence is good too but also reward
having that to reinforce every day every
week once you achieve that goal you know
and it becomes fun you know so when you
when you set that up you know I I it for
example I want to buy a Lamborghini
right and it's something I can buy it
right now but I'm like no I'm going to
have this as a reward for once I hit
this goal that I have of this level of
investment portfolio once I achieve that
then I'm going to reward myself and then
buy that
you
