life is to surround yourself a people
that are more successful than you are

on this rainy day I'm actually waiting
for someone right now but I want to talk
to you guys about surrounding yourself
than you I found this to be one of the
most powerful ways to change your life
to grow because you become really
uncomfortable when you're around people
they're playing life and a much higher
level than you oftentimes people
surround themselves with people that are
playing life at a lower level than
themselves because it makes you feel
good about yourself it makes you feel
like you're more significant or more
important or more successful than
everyone else
and when you are in that peer group when
people are lower than you in a way and
I'm not judging anyone and and doing
anyone lower in a way like I believe
that every human being is equal and
their value but I'm talking more about
success results in life when you're
around that you're not really growing
okay so you want to find people that can
push you and really just by their
presence their results their success in
their life and makes you feel and
comfortable about yourself and forces
you to raise your standards and grow a
great example of this is I just got back
from a weekend trip in New Jersey
there's 35 entrepreneurs I'm a part of
this mastermind group of a lot of
different entrepreneurs that are really
really really successful guys that are
making six figures seven figures eight
figures and even nine figures in their
business and we do different retreats
all around the world and so they plan
these events these activities we all get
together so this last weekend I was in
New Jersey we did race car driving at
one of the top racing tracks in North
America we raced modified Mustang GTS we
went go-karting paintballing dinners
networking mastermind sessions there's a
lot of fun but besides just I mean that
the fun activities I mean that's great
really the biggest value is being around
people that are much more successful
than you and I found myself very
uncomfortable in this circumstance
because you know I'm not sure if you can
relate to this but often times for me in
my life in my business I'm often you
know one of the smartest people almost
my friends and I'm not saying that to
brag or any
like that but in terms of businesses
what I'm talking about just because I
have some more success than a lot of my
friends a lot my friends they have a job
or they you know they don't maybe even
care about success that much but you
know I heard a great saying a long time
ago which I totally agree with that if
you were the smartest amongst your
friends then you had the wrong friends
okay you want to find people that are
much much smarter than you are and
surround yourself with them because what
happens is you actually feel dumb of
being around them which is kind of
embarrassing at times but at the same
time like I said you're gonna grow
massively you're gonna learn a lot
you're gonna be a sponge you're gonna
kind of be like the fly on the wall and
just kind of observe and get a lot of
benefit and value from that and so the
weekend that I spent I was blown away by
the quality people that were there the
conversations that we had the feedback I
mean people that are having problems in
their lives and in their businesses that
I can't even relate to you because it's
just so far beyond my realm of
possibility right now you know you know
some of these people are talking about
you know in their businesses selling
their eight-figure business and you know
sharing their stories and experiences
with that so amazing amazing thing is
I'm not gonna go into details about any
of that stuff but you know I think
that's an important thing that we should
all strive for constantly and I don't
think necessarily you know all your
friends have to be much more successful
than you I think there's a lot of value
in having all different types of friends
you know I have friends that you know
that have jobs they're regular people
you know just amazing people but they're
not more successful than me or have more
money and that doesn't matter to me at
all I just enjoy their company I enjoy
being around them I value our friendship
for many years and I have friends that I
can go to party with and have fun with I
friends I can travel with I have friends
that are in business that I can relate
to I friends that are into fitness and
health and we work out together so I
think it's important to have different
varieties of groups of friends but you
know if you want to change her body and
want to get in great shape and find
people that are even more greater shape
than you are and surround yourself with
them because I promise you your
standards will change you'll feel
uncomfortable and you'll be forced to
grow and if you want to make more money
finding people there making much more
money than you are and surround yourself
with them as well
okay and one more tip I'm gonna add to
this as well is whenever you approach
people people that are maybe more
successful than you are in a different
field don't come from ad don't don't
come into it from a position of trying
to take from them okay
people hate that you don't want to come
from it and say you know hey can I hang
out with you can i you know leech off of
you and be around you and just kind of
absorb everything from you that's a
position of taking okay and that's gonna
repel people it's gonna turn them off
you always want to think about how can I
add value to this person how can I add
value to this peer group how can I you
know how can I you know help them
benefit in some way okay so come from in
a position of trying to help them and
add value and really the value that
you're gonna get returned is just you
know by being able to be around them so
that's what I'd recommend is don't be a
taker at the same time you know as I
have a lot of people that approach me
and you know they just I can just sense
all the time when someone's trying to
take and oftentimes I don't really want
to help those people as opposed to the
people that are respectful of my time
and actually think about how they can
add value and how they can you know give
instead of take so I'm gonna throw that
out there as well but make sure to find
people that are more successful go to
seminars go to events go to networking
events join mastermind groups you know
the mastermind group I was talking about
I have to pay a lot of money to be a
part of and it's they have it you know
you have to be making six figures just
to be a part of it you know but all the
mastermind groups that I'm a part of I
pay for you know there's a couple
thousand dollars a month you pay every
year to be a part of these different
groups so don't be afraid to pay you
know don't be afraid to invest in
yourself it's gonna you know it's the
best investment you can ever make in
your life because it's gonna give you
access to such amazing people and again
you're gonna grow you're gonna benefit
and it's gonna change your life so thank
