okay guys today I want to talk about
something that I think is very very
important and it's something that
destroys many people's goals and dreams
in fact if you can't get this sorted and
handled in your life then your chances
of success are very slim okay and what
this is that I'm talking about is a lack
okay commitment and consistency and
where this shows up for most people is
disappearing in their lives okay they
don't show up you know there's a good
saying that 80% of success is just
showing up and unfortunately many people
can't even do that many people just show
up at the beginning they in terms of
making a commitment setting a goal but
then after that they disappear they
don't show up they're just they can't be
consistent with whatever it is that
they've committed themselves to and if
you can't be consistent because lesson
success is simple okay it's not
complicated all it requires is fully
committing yourself to something and
then being consistent with that right if
it's a program if it's a diet whatever
it is all you have to do is just decide
that you're gonna do it and you know set
your goal and then you show up every
single day or every single week and be
consistent with that as long as you do
that I can almost guarantee you that
you'll have success and whatever it is
that you're committing yourself to but
people disappear you know I can't tell
you how many people that have seen that
commit to something and they set a goal
and I see they just disappear I'll give
you some examples I've seen people of
the years that I've done coaching now
this has 21 years old
you know people that invest money okay
they have the desire for something to
achieve their goal you know they're very
excited at the beginning they share
their goal with you and you know they
maybe show up at the beginning when it's
easy but then after that they just
disappear they go missing in their lives
and even to the extent where you reach
out to them and you're like hello
are you there and they don't even
respond to you and it's not till like a
month or two months or three months
later there all of a sudden they show up
again right
and you know they have some sort of
excuse of why they went missing their
lives if you're someone like that your
chances of success are very very slim or
people that start something and then
they don't finish it okay they start a
goal you know again at the beginning is
the easiest part right when you're the
most excited for it but you started then
you just disappeared how many people
join the gym in January and then when
February comes around they disappear
it's just so common amongst people I've
seen people that joined my Facebook
groups right because I have Kindle
courses online courses training coaching
they join the group they're excited you
know they they post their goals they
tell everybody how excited they are how
they're gonna achieve this goal and then
all of a sudden they disappear they get
it you know they request a refund you
know a week later or all of a sudden you
know you don't hear from them ever again
and it's like you know that kind of
behavior will never result in success in
their life in fact that's a pattern that
most people repeat again and again
because they're taking themselves with
them to every other goal that they have
in their lives right if you don't change
that habit that pattern then you're not
gonna be successful at anything because
you know people don't realize that
success is a challenge or a success
you know it's something that you have to
commit yourself to it it's simple in the
concept of it but it's a challenge for
many people that's why you know the
biggest advice that they have for people
is just to get out of your own way you
know Tony Robbins has a great saying 80%
of success is your psychology rest only
20% are the mechanics and that's so true
I've seen that with Kindle publishing
making money online business Fitness
relationships whatever it is because
most people are committed more to being
a dabbler than they are being a master a
really great book is called mastery I
forget the the the author of that book
but he basically describes a master is
someone that anticipates the challenges
the obstacles and the plateaus and
they're willing to adapt and you know
adapt to all those sort of things that
are committed for the long term mastery
requires years of hard work and
consistency but what happens is people
are you know they enjoy being a dabbler
and a dabbler someone basically i starts
thing and they give that initial rush
you know it feels good to set it goal it
feels good to commit yourself to
something or to make a decision or even
try anything new because just out of
variety it feels good to try something
new
because you feel like you're you know
you're taking control of your life and
you're making progress and stuff but
what happens is when that initial spike
of feel-good emotions
disappears when the going gets tough and
all of a sudden you know they don't have
that initial boost you know of making a
decision and committing themselves to
something they give up they disappear
they change their mind they have some
sort of reason or excuse why
it's not for them anymore or you know
maybe some new opportunities showed up
for them and you know that's basically
the definition of a dabbler right
there's always opportunities there's
always shiny objects that can appear and
distract you from your goal and you have
to really be village it you know village
in and say no to those things you have
to have the ability to discipline
yourself and focus on that one thing
until you achieve success with it you
know I tell people often you know people
that join a new program you know my
Kindle course or something like that
I tell them unsubscribe from everybody
else if you're gonna join my course if
you're gonna you know commit yourself to
an internet marketing course or a
business whatever it is you don't want
anything that's gonna distract you from
then cuz everything else is gonna be a
distraction you have to unsubscribe and
just focus on that one
the method of success and you have to
trust that process of it I'll give you
an example I remember when I was doing a
fitness competition years ago I hired a
coach and my coach put me on a certain
diet a certain meal plan and you know
there's times during that diet for six
months you know is what I committed to
you there's times during that time where
I was like you know I'm not really
seeing the results fast enough and oh I
see this other person having more
success than me
and all of a sudden you take your eye
off your goal and that process and that
method that you invested in and you
start looking for other opportunities
right you don't see enough progress
on your diet so now you're looking at
the next diet or you see this new thing
that pops up in your facebook or this
new success story about how this person
you know lost 30 pounds in 30 days or
whatever and you think okay I should
start doing that now and you abandon
that diet and you start joining the next
one and then you do the next diet and
sure enough you're not seeing that
results and then there's a new diet that
comes along and you commit yourself to
that and again that's being the dabbler
that's not being committed to one thing
it's not being consistent with one thing
you have to trust the process and just
stick with it if that person I just
stuck with that one diet that one
program that probably has success by now
but again people want the instant fix
they want the quick shortcut to success
which does not exist okay and I see this
time and time again not just with diets
but I see this in the internet marketing
world you know someone joins my course
and maybe they're not like making
thousands and thousands of dollars right
away they're doing pretty good but they
see this other person doing this other
course and they're making this amount of
money and so they jump and abandon it
and they think okay I maybe it's this
new method here people do it in
relationships right people you know they
they find someone they're attracted to
it's going great and all of a sudden
when these emotions those new emotions
wear off you know they start paying
attention to the next girl the next
relationship or the next guy and then
they you know they jump and they're
always staying at the surface and never
going really deep and anytime you stay
at the surface you'll never make
progress you'll never get what it is
that you want because success requires
you to go deep it's in the depths of the
ocean that you have to go and be willing
to go but unfortunately very few people
are very few people are willing to dive
deep in the ocean where all the
incredible experiences they just want to
stay at the surface because at the
surface of the ocean it's comfortable
it's easy you don't have to commit
yourself as fully to something there's
not as much fear involved but you know
again you're gonna have a shallow
experience of life but if you're willing
to go deep go deep in the ocean where it
is scary it's uncertain you know there's
more pressure in a lot of the senses you
can have this incredible experience it's
much more vivid surreal experience than
most people
get to experience in their lives so
that's why most people will never
succeed they can't commit themselves
their dabblers it can't be consistent
with something and they disappear in
their lives if this is a pattern for you
I pray to God that you solve it I pray
to God that you recognize it and you're
taking action to be someone that shows
up in their life that keeps their word
and when they commit to something you
follow through and you do it that's the
key if you're gonna read a book you buy
a book read the book if you're gonna
start the book read the book till the
end don't just start something and don't
finish it that's building the habit of a
lack of consistency in the lack of
commitment you don't need all these open
loops in your life things that are
unfinished that's not not gonna get you
anywhere in your life if you start
something finish it finish the race if
you can do that I promise you success
will be in your reality simple as that
