hey guys Stefan from
projectlifemastery.com goals resolutions
on the whiteboard behind me and in this
video I wanna share with you guys what
my goals and resolutions are for a few
reasons number one I find this amazing
power and making your goals public and
straighten them with other people
because what it does is it makes you
accountable to other people which forces
you to step up more to achieve those
goals in fact the very first video that
I had on my blog was my goals and
resolutions for 2012 and so I found that
when I make that public and I shared it
with other people and created this
pressure inside of me and I felt this
accountability to everybody because
there's a consequence to not achieving
those goals which was I'm embarrassed
myself a lose reputation and I would
feel like a failure in front of other
people and so there's a lot of
motivation that comes in making goals or
commitments public to other people and
so I'll barely through my goals and
resolutions for you guys to make the
public and I want you guys to hold me
accountable for it so I'm gonna get into
that in a minute
but I also wanted to make this video to
share with you guys my whole process
that I go through
to start off the year and it's a process
that done now for the last few years and
it's just a great way for me to and for
you as well to come up with what the
goals that goals are what you want to
create for yourself and create for your
life for this year and a lot of people
you know they just set their goals and
resolutions at the beginning of the year
but they don't stick with it they don't
actually follow through on those goals
process that really helps me to follow
through and make my goals actually
happen for the year so I'm gonna go into
that process first and then throw the
process I'm gonna share with you guys
what the goals are okay so what I do
first very first thing is in terms of
setting any goal for yourself or any
nation
as making sure you get yourself in the
right state you have to put yourself in
a state where there's no limits and the
way that I think about that is going
going back to this to being a kid you
know because a kid you know they have no
fear they have no doubt they have no
limitations on themselves they don't
have past failures or they're not trying
to be realistic or in any way when
they're setting something that they want
you know it's almost like a kid on
Christmas he'll say you know I want this
and I want that and I want a swimming
pool and I want you know whatever you
know and there's just no limits on it
and I find a lot of times what we do is
we as we limit ourselves because we go
into her head and we think whether or
not is possible or not and whether or
not something is possible is dependent
on the belief that you have about
actually achieving something and so if
you're already limiting yourself
mentally then you're already going to
fail you're already gonna create a
barrier for yourself and creating a life
that you really want and so the most
important thing is just getting yourself
you know in that place just being a kid
it is not worrying about whether you
think you can or you can't achieve
something that's believing that there
are no limits you can create anything
you want okay and so once you're in that
state what I do is I pick it up in paper
and I just write it out for five minutes
everything that I want to create my life
okay there's no limits again you know so
if you want to have a certain mansion or
you want to have a million dollars or
ten million dollars or 100 million
dollars or you want to have a
Lamborghini and you want to have a
swimming pool and you want to have you
know a pentose Department you want to
have you know certain clothes or certain
relationship or a certain body you know
just make that list many as many things
as you could possibly think of and I
learned this from 20 Robbins Ashley but
he has different categories for this as
well so you think about personal
development goals you know how are you
how you would want to be and how would
you want to live your life maybe a
certain type of body or emotions that
you'd like to have a relationship maybe
an economic goal making a certain amount
of money you know it's important also
they have goals in different areas of
your life you know what having
balanced life not just focus on finances
but ignoring relationships or focus on
finances but ignoring your body right so
you want to make sure that you have
goals and different categories of life
and I actually have a video blog on
called my life plan that goes into the
detail about categorizing your life and
creating a whole vision for your entire
life as well so this kind of this video
can easily go into that video as well
and so you have the different categories
and goals and then once you have that
list okay and it should take you maybe
five or ten minutes and nervous you're
not thinking and analyzing about whether
or not this is realistic or not this
writing down just letting it flow out of
you you make that list and then once you
have that list you're going to go over
each of those goals and you're gonna set
a time frame on it
okay so there's certain goals on that
list that you may want to achieve within
a year or three years or five years or
ten years or 20 years okay but you're
gonna go through that list and you're
going to just put a number you know
whether it's one or three or five ten
twenty years next to those goals that's
gonna help you to be able to just
identify you know which goals you're
gonna have to focus on for this year
okay or there might be certain goals
like you want to make ten million
dollars but maybe you can break that
down maybe that's like a ten or twenty
year goal you can break that down into a
one-year goal and figure out what amount
of money would you want to just mean for
this one here okay and so I found that
as a very valuable process because it
gets you out of your head it gets you
imagining different things that you
never really thought were possible and
it gets you excited it gives you a
future or something to look towards and
move towards in your life and that's a
really important piece okay but that's
essentially how I created my goals is I
first went through that process and I
selected about ten or twelve twelve
one-year goals of things that I'd like
to
for this year and I have my bigger
vision as well which I go over in my
life plan video but I have that big
vision but it's breakdown in the
one-year goals just for this year that
focus on okay so once I have that
process done and I have an idea of what
the goals I want to create for it for
the year I follow what is called a smart
philosophy which is basically an acronym
for having making sure that your goals
are specific they're measurable they're
attainable they're realistic and they
have a timeline okay and I'm gonna go
through my goals right now it's gonna
share a few guys what I mean by that by
the with with any goal has to be
specific okay so you can't just say you
know I want to lose weight this year or
I want to gain muscle mass or I want to
make more money that doesn't mean
anything
you know not unless you have a specific
target then you can't hit that target
you can't get to that destination and so
you have to be really clear on exactly
how much weight that you want to lose
how much muscle if you want to gain how
much money do you want to make this year
okay the more specific you are the more
likely you are to achieve that goal okay
the other piece as well as having it you
know somewhat realistic as well
attainable a lot of people they set
goals you know this year I'm gonna make
a million dollars and I'm making like
you know they're not even making a
hundred thousand dollars and so if you
set a goal that's to unrealistic for you
if you don't believe that you can
achieve it or go after it then you've
already sabotaged yourself they're not
gonna take any action towards that goal
because already you don't have any
belief in yourself that you can actually
make that goal happen you don't have a
plan to achieve it and so that's why I
always like to set myself up to win I
always like to set goals that I know
that I can and achieve it might be a bit
of a stretch for me but I'm pretty
confident that I can actually achieved
those goals and when I do achieve those
goals it gives me more confidence it
gives me more self-esteem and then I
just up the ante I just go for another
goal from there I just build this
momentum within myself to achieve more
or goals so making sure that are
realistic and also having a timeline as
well you know if you just say I'm gonna
cheat this goal but you don't have a
deadline for it then you're not gonna
have that pressure again debt with the
achieve it's by having a deadline we get
more out of ourselves now if you think
about it there's a certain deadline
where you have to have your taxes done
by and if not there's a consequence
it's a deadline where if you have a test
or a project at school you know you have
to make sure you get your homework done
by that day otherwise there's a
consequence if there was no deadline
that you probably would never do your
homework you know so there's a lot of
value in that as well okay so I'm going
to jump right into it and share if you
guys might goals and by the way that's
gonna be a blog post office as well so
if you can't read this which I don't
expect you can go to the blog I'm gonna
have a link in the video where you can
actually check it out too okay so my
2013 goals and resolutions so number one
I won't easily be 160 pounds as six
percent body fat and competed in the
WBFF fitness competition on July 13th
2013
okay so that is my fitness goal in fact
I had it basically the same goal last
year and to do a fitness competition and
I achieved that goal and I just wanted
to do it again you know I just had such
an incredible time you know changing my
body improving my body going through
that the confidence the self-esteem that
I I gained from going through that so I
decided to do it again but the important
thing with this goal is a few things
okay number one of the way that I
language it I language it in a way that
I say I will easily be able to achieve
this okay a lot of people say that I
want to have this and it's kind of
lacking that power it's lacking that
confidence that juice behind it you know
when they just write down you know
fitness competition and the way that you
language something is so important
because that's what's gonna inspire you
it's gonna excite you and it's for the
important of language your goals in a
way that does that for you and so I say
I will easily achieve this goal and so
that gives me confidence the key
easily is you know just adding that word
add so much to that goal and just the
way that you think about it you know so
I will easily be a hundred sixty pounds
of specific I know exactly the amount of
weight that own away the body fat that I
want to have and you know it can change
you know it's not set in stone but at
least having a target so I can move
towards it's better than no target at
all okay so you always want to make sure
that you have some sort of target and
that's for me I believe that's
achievable so once it's these I'm bodies
that and compete in the WPF a fitness
competition on July 2013 so I have a
deadline have the date of when I'm going
to achieve that goal by okay and so
that's a really important thing is this
make sure that your specific about you
know if it's a fitness school how much
you want to weigh your body fat maybe
your measurements and the power of that
as well is that you're able to measure
you're able to check in every week and
see what your way it is see what your
body fat is and and just kind of assess
things and see with an ongoing on track
to achieve that goal or not so there's a
lot of benefits to that as well number
two I usually make ten thousand dollars
upon passive income on Kindle by
December 31st 2013 so I've talked in
different blog post I do internet
marketing I have different products and
different streams of income that I make
money from but I've recently been doing
Kindle marketing and basically
publishing different ebooks on Kindle
and I've been really successful at it so
far and I it's just been blowing up and
that's just a goal that I set for myself
is I want to be able to make $10,000 a
month passive income okay that's not
including my other income or on any of
that any anything else but just achieve
10 10 grand a month passive income is
specifically specifically from Kindle by
December 31st so again I have that
deadline as well and have the exact
amount of money I want to make and the
type of money and I want to make as well
okay I will easily buy an investment
property by December 31st 2013
I will easily launch my first product on
a project like mastery comm by December
31st
2013 I'll easily move to Yale town into
a beautiful 1 bedroom when federal what
bedroom apartment with an office the
December 31st 2013 and by the way that
goal with the moving and the investment
property those are goals that I didn't
achieve last year you know if you go
back to the video that I said last year
and the blog post I said those goals I
didn't achieve them and you know that's
that's ok too you know you might not
achieve all those goals but in the
pursuit of the goals that's the most
important thing who you become in the
process and yeah you might not achieve
all those goals but that's why I have
them on the list again and I'm just
gonna step up and revise my strategy my
game plan to make sure that I can
actually achieve those goals to make it
happen you know so I just wanted for
Anna I will continue to build an amazing
passionate loving relationship with
Jessica where I'm focused on meeting
your needs being present with her and us
that's both growing towards an
incredible future by December 31st 2013
I have a relationship goal in there as
well um I'll go to Mexico for one week
with Jessica by December 31st 2013 I
will wake up each morning happy excited
passionate and levels 9s intense by
December 31st 2013 and by the way that
kind of goes into my morning ritual
video as well you know that's the
process that I want to use to make sure
that I'm passionate
I'm strengthening my options my body
everything first thing in the morning
I'll do a 7 to 10 day cleanse to talk to
my body and increase my health and
energy by December 31st 2013
I will easily buy and so just by the way
I have as you can see so far I have a
health goal a fitness goal I had a
relationship goal I have economic goals
I have business goals I have a vacation
to go
you know I already have a variety of
goals you know and like I said that's
important it's important to set goals
for each aspect of your life and to make
sure that you're growing in each area of
your life but I not only have health and
fitness ones but I also make sure that I
have a few Fingal's meaning certainly
things like items or whatever
materialistic stuff that else would
achieve as well you know because I want
to buy or have I make sure that I set
those as goals to you and they're not
big they're not anything enormous or
anything but I just really you know and
I'm not that materialistic myself but I
just thought of you know what are
certain things I'd like to have more of
this year so I thought I'm going to
easily buy a Vitamix blender by December
31st 2013 which if you don't know what
that is
there's Vitamix it's an incredible
blender that use a juice bar it's a $500
blender but I've always wanted one so I
want to make sure I have one of those
this year I will easily buy a numeric
book by December 31st 2013 and I'll
easily buy a new high-quality camera and
like by December 31st 2013 so that I can
continue making these videos for you
guys and just improve the quality of
them and and just just keep building
project like mastery with that myself
those Legos I have 12 goals and what I
do is I put them on my white board as
you can see is how this is my living
room
I haven't wear it every single day so I
could focus on it so that I'm laying on
the couch art I'm gonna wake up in the
morning I can just read over my goals
and I can see them and just by seeing
them and reminding myself of them I'm
always gonna be on target always gonna
be moving towards something there's a
lot of power in that okay and so I have
my twelve goals there's another process
that I go through then it's really
important once you have the goals
because having goals is not enough right
you have to achieve them you have to
create a plan for them and so the first
step of having their goals that's the
first step the second step
is knowing why do you want these goals
why what's the purpose that you have
what you know what's gonna motivate you
to really follow through and achieve
those goals and make them a reality for
yourself and so I use what is called a
pain and pleasure principle for this
okay what I do is I look at each of
these goals and ask myself you know what
is number one the pleasure that I'm
gonna get by itching this goal okay how
is if I change my body competing this
fitness competition what's the pleasure
I'm gonna get from achieving that goal
you know what's the benefit from it a
year from now five years ten years
twenty years from now you know how will
I feel how is it going to affect my
relationships my finances and in every
area of my life and I really just fueled
a pleasure and I should write this out
as well so for me another pleasure I get
from that is I improve my confidence and
prove my sense of self-esteem you know
it gives me more confidence to achieve
certain things in my life and it's more
just value to myself that I can make
anything possible it's gonna improve my
relationships you know it does something
to feel more attractive and better about
myself I'm gonna be able to share this
on my blog and inspire other people and
help other people I can maybe create a
product one day and inspire people that
way and help people with health and
fitness and by me going through that
process first and by me making that
transformation I have now have evidence
and proof that I can help other people
with a similar transformation as well
and I want to think about five 10 years
20 years you know I'm gonna wake up in
the morning and look in the mirrors and
just be proud of myself and just feel
vibrant and energetic and fit okay so I
just really feel the pleasure of that
and I visualized this well and it gets
you excited just thinking about it you
know and then I think about the
consequence what is the consequence of
not achieving this goal you know what's
the ultimate consequence of my
relationships my friends my family my
health five years ten years twenty years
from now and I always imagine the
worst-case consequence and I make it
totally unrealistic because the purpose
that is
want to feel the pain you want to create
pressure on yourself and feel that pain
of what would happen if you don't
achieve this and so for me I imagine
myself getting sick having cancer being
fat overweight losing everyone in my
life you know because I don't take care
of my body or really love or respect
myself the person I love most it's gonna
leave me I'm gonna be alone I'm not
gonna have any confidence I'm not going
to be able to attract the person that I
want this we're all the people that I
want I'm not going to be living my
purpose I'm not going to be inspiring
other people and sharing with other
people in fact I'm gonna feel
embarrassed and have low self-esteem and
no one's gonna want to follow me because
I don't I'm not congruent what I teach
so that creates a lot of pain for me and
I can go on and on and on about this
stuff but that's exactly what you want
to do for each of those goals you want
to figure what's the pain that what's
the pleasure of you know what's the
benefit and what's you know what's it
gonna cost you in your life if you do
not achieve these goals
you know same thing with the financial
one you go through the process of how
your life is gonna be better by
achieving this goal by making more money
how the freedom you can have and the
things you could buy the ones who can do
the things you can share and give the
consequence of that have just not being
able to do what you want to do being
trapped being us you know enslaved you
know living your life does not being
able to do certain things or not having
the confidence or seeing other people do
things that you can't do those things or
being in debt or being bankrupt or broke
you know just think of the worst-case
scenario and what that what that's gonna
do is there's gonna create that drive
and hunger inside of yourself to really
go after and achieve those goals okay so
I go through that for all of my goals
and I'm always thinking about that and
thinking about the consequence and the
pain and pleasure the last step is
creating the plan okay you know you have
the target at the destination but you
gotta have a map you have to know how
you're gonna get
and the action plan you want it to be
specific as well and you want to create
as many actions as possible so you want
to almost reverse engineer and figure
out what you got to do to achieve this
goal you know so for me for my omec go
over all them but my fitness competition
you know what do I have to do what do I
have to do that's going to make sure and
ensure that I get there and my action
plan is you know I have a coach that I
work with every single week and I send
them pictures I send my measurements I
take my weight and body fat and I spend
of all that stuff to them in every
single week so I'm always measuring
myself to see where I'm at and getting
feedback to make adjustments so that I
can achieve this goal right so I have a
coach I'm gonna work out you know four
or five days a week right I have the
specific workouts that I follow for that
you know cardio you know three times a
week I'm gonna do and of course the plan
is gonna change as the competition goes
on and everything right you know I
certain dieting I track all of my meals
an Excel spreadsheet and I have a
certain requirement of how much protein
carbs and fat that I have to consume on
a daily basis you know stop following in
that you know so there's all these
things that I'm doing to ensure that I'm
gonna cheat this goal I'm probably gonna
use my blog to get it make different
progress reports to share that with
people just were accountability and
motivation as well you know different
books that I can read different
resources that I can tap into so I have
a plan for that and for me by having
that plan it gives me the confidence to
achieve that goal I believe that I can
make it happen now because I have a
specific plan that if I just do these
steps I'm gonna get to this destination
right there's no guesswork involved in
it you know same thing with the Kindle
same thing with everything else I figure
what's the plan what's the action plan
what are the steps I need to take and
again they have to be specific you can't
just say I'm the workout one you know
you have to say how many days a week or
you know
about what days are you gonna work at
what time of the day are you gonna work
out because if you don't schedule it and
plant it then life's gonna get busy your
life your time is going to be consumed
with other things we're going to be a
reacting to other things instead of
really just designing the life that
creating a life that you really want you
know so make sure that you again you
have your goals you have the purpose the
reasons why you want to achieve them the
motivation and then you have that
specific action plan and there's one
last thing before I finish this video
but one thing I do every single year I
made another video blog about this as
well is I commit to a hundred a
challenge okay what the not you wanted
to do it with that the program that I
told you about that I've done that's
really helping me step up but you know
the most important part of this whole
process is getting off to a fast start
you want to be get you know you want to
be going on those goals ready to weigh
it right from the get-go so that's why I
always come in to 180 challenge and you
know 180 challenge is a program that you
just commit hundred days you know taking
massive action towards those goals and
there's a whole format for that I
mentioned in the other video that I'm
not going to go into again but check out
the website for that I'll have a link on
it on my blog somewhere but you know
check that out as well and by the way I
think that is available tooled and I
think the second week of January to the
14th or so so there's still a chance for
you to commit to that and and just
really take action towards
