how do I make my Kindle books profitable
over the long term very common question
and there's really a few answers that I
have on this number one number one
reason why people make money on their
books in the short term but it doesn't
last it's because they're just doing the
bare minimum okay you can't do the bare
minimum and anything and expect for it
to last long term so if you're
publishing a crappy book if you're you
know really doing the bare minimum to
market your book at Amazon reviews all
that stuff you might make a bit of money
in the short term but it's not gonna
last over the long term you always have
to take the long term more sustainable
approach with anything okay
so I'll give you some examples of this
you know one common reason why this
happens is people publish a book they
look at the market right and they see
that the other competing books all have
ten Amazon reviews so they think okay
I'm gonna go and get ten Amazon reviews
as well and sure enough they do that
they get ten Amazon reviews for their
book and it's kind of basically the same
as every other book out there ten Amazon
reviews it doesn't really stand out or
differentiate yourself and maybe they
rank the book to make some money from it
but meanwhile their competitors are
promoting their books they're getting
more Amazon reviews they're out ranking
them there's more ebooks that are
entering into that market and because
you only have ten reviews that's very
easy for anybody to compete with there's
no barrier of entry for anyone to
compete with you so that's one reason
why ebooks don't last or just doing the
bare minimum
the other strategy true that a solution
to that is you want to do more than
everyone else you want to stay one step
ahead if you see a market that has 10 or
20 reviews you want to say okay this is
a profitable market I'm gonna put out a
good book and I'm gonna go out there I'm
gonna get 20 30 40 50 reviews if you do
that yes it's more work it's more
challenging but it's worth it because
now you're gonna have the dominant book
in that market you're gonna outsell
everyone else there other people won't
be able to compete with you easily and
your book is going to be sustainable and
profitable over the long run you're
gonna have created a sustainable passive
income stream that will last for as long
as it's on top so you have to understand
that
no you have to be willing to do more
than everyone else and put in the work
and I always say especially in the the
new K money mastery program I release my
strategy is do more than what's
necessary there's no such thing as over
promoting your book even if it's
overkill that's okay do that because
that's gonna help you more in the long
term so don't be afraid to be overly
aggressive in promoting and marketing
your book because it's gonna pay off and
help you over the long run okay so I
think that's a really important thing
another thing is the quality you can
have your book and you can have it at
the top and it could sell a little bit
but you know if your book is a bad book
it starts getting negative reviews then
of course it's gonna drop down the you
know the negative reviews which gonna
hurt your sales and that's not going to
be profitable over the long term either
so you know once you publish your book
if you do get a negative review or even
if you don't you want to improve the
book you want to make it better and
better and better if there's a mistake
in the book that someone points so
formatting spelling errors maybe it
doesn't cover certain things use that as
an opportunity to improve your book and
you want to do it quickly before it can
accumulate more negative reviews because
that's just gonna plummet your sales
even more so you want to improve your
book and if your book is selling even if
it doesn't have any good reviews you
still want to make it better because you
want to protect that asset you want it
you know if I have a book that's selling
I'm gonna focus more on that book than
any other of the books that I have you
know even if the books that aren't as
selling as much I'm going to spend more
time on the one that's selling the ones
that aren't so I'll improve that book
make it better because I want to make
that more into a lasting more
sustainable product I want to diversify
with CreateSpace inaudible as well which
is also going to make you more money
from that book and help it me more
sustainable on Amazon also and again
that comes back to not doing the bare
minimum and just doing more than
everyone else out there as well another
reason why book and sell and stop
selling is because you can rank your
book and get the reviews and stuff but
if your book is still not a book that
people want then it's gonna drop down
the rankings and it's gonna stop selling
so Amazon only rewards books and ranks
books that are selling and profitable
because Amazon wants to make money so if
your book when you release it it starts
selling getting sales
reviews Amazon's like wow this is a hot
new release this is the popular book
they're gonna rank it very high on their
website now once your book is ranked
there it has to keep selling to sustain
itself at that position because if your
book stops selling and nobody wants it
Amazon's not gonna keep that book ranked
at the top because it's not making any
it's not making them any money so
they're gonna drop your book and they're
gonna only reward books that are selling
so you know when you rank your book
keeping it there is very important and
really what that comes down to is a
great cover a great title that really in
a you know that the title has the
benefits that the market wants and meets
the needs the demands and solves the
problems that you know are in that
market so that's a really important
piece you know if you have a book that
doesn't really resonate with the
customers the consumers in that market
then you know people aren't gonna keep
buying it so making sure just the
presentation the marketing the
description all that stuff is very very
important and making sure that people
want your book and are keep buying it as
well okay and the last pieces all
mentioned two another reason why books
will stop is because publishers and
authors neglect their books so basically
once they publish their book they make
some money from it they just neglect it
and they move on to like publishing more
books and they're not paying attention
to that book in any way and that's the
wrong mentality as well because again
each book is an asset for you it's just
like the stock market you've got to keep
your an eye on your investments so you
know one solution to that I mean you
could this really two solutions one you
could manually monitor it which becomes
increasingly challenging when you
publish more and more books or you can
check out a software that both my
brother and I created called K optimizer

and K optimizer is a software that
basically allows you to insert your
books and it will tell you the ranking
for your book for its keyword and as
Amazon bestseller ranking and the
reviews that you have and so you can set
up alerts for it so that if your book
drops and ranking or reviews or you know
Amazon bestseller ranking they don't
notify you of them and so if your book
does draw for whatever reason in sales
you want to cash that
you want to fix whatever whatever
whatever needs to be fixed quickly
before it's too late and your book is
ranked on the 20th page so using a
software like key optimizer can really
help you to stay on top of all that to
make sure that your books are profitable
over the long term because I think you
need a system in place monitoring your
books every week or every two weeks or
every month just to stay on top of it
just to make sure that all your books
are profitable and selling and staying
on top and you know again if you do
notice your books dropping you can
quickly take action to promote your book
get more Amazon reviews or do whatever
is necessary just to keep it at the top
so that's my solution for you
again it comes down to doing things
quality and you know just marketing your
book the right way if you do that you're
not gonna have to worry about the
sustainability of your book so thank you
