Hey, everyone. Stefan here from projectlife
mastery.com. In this video, I'm going
to share a few of some of the most
powerful habits of the most successful
people in the world today.
These are people that are
multi-billionaires. They've built amazing
businesses. They're the leaders of the
world. They're going to go down as some
of the most influential people of our time.
These are all people that we can
learn from. We can benefit from. I
believe in the concept of modeling. That
if someone's successful or they have
certain results in their lives, that you
can model them. You can identify the
habits of what they consistently do
every day. By adapting those habits,
you can apply that to your life and you can
get a similar result as them. Some of the
have are pretty extreme. They're pretty
insane.
You don't have to necessarily model them
to a certain extent but you can apply
maybe different elements of them to your
life. What I found is that, there
are some habits that are common amongst all
the most successful people and I'm going
to go into those as well. I've got
here my computer. I've got a list of some of
them. I don't have it memorized so I'm going to
reference my computer throughout this
video. The first one, and you
probably already know this.
The first most common habit that a lot
of very successful people have is
reading, learning. They invest a lot
of their time, their money to improve
themselves. To upload information to their
brain. This I something
that we can all do. Right?
Billionaires are doing this. They're
spending their time doing this and
reading books is something that you
can do. It's very inexpensive.
You can go to the library. You can adopt this habit to your
life as well and that can help you
change your life and change your mindset.
For example, Warren Buffett,
multi-billionaire. One of the richest man
in the world. He reads 500 pages every
single day. In fact, when he was first
starting his investing career, he was
reading 600 to 1,000 pages
a day. He loves to read. He loves to
feed his mind. This is someone who,
in his 80s, is still taking
massive action in his life and still
learning as much as he was before. Here's
a really great quote that I like
from Warren Buffett.
Someone asked him what was the key to
success and he said, "Read 500 pages like
this every day. That's how knowledge works.
It builds up like compound interest. All
of you can do it but I guarantee that not
many of you will do it." And it's true.
What people can do is amazing but
what people will do, often times, is a little
bit disappointing. He spends
80% of each
day to reading. Insane.
He's not the only one though. Bill Gates.
He reads 50 books every single year.
That breaks down to one book a week.
Bill Gates, constantly reading as well.
Mark Cuban reads more then 3 hours
every single day.
Elon Musk, he was asked
the question, "How did you learn how to
build rockets?" He said, that, "I read."
Reading is one of the important things for
him as well.
Mark Zuckerberg, in 2015, he sets
different goals and resolutions but he
resolved to read a book every two weeks
throughout 2015. Oprah Winfrey's got her
book club. She reads a lot as
well.
These are people that are
multi-billionaires. Right? Reading is
something we can all do. Do more of it.
Learn as much as possible. Maybe it's
reading. Maybe it's listening to audio books.
Maybe it's going to courses, seminars.
These are all things that they all do. In
fact, there is a really good study, 1200
wealthy people and they found,
the secret was reading. What they
found is, what you read is important.
They found that they read
self development, educational books about
success. Different subjects like that. Tom
Corley's got a book called, Rich Habits: The
Daily Success Habits of Wealthy
Individuals. I'll maybe link to that
below this video as well.
They actually did studies of people
that have an annual income of a hundred
sixty thousands or more, that's
what they read. Not just
reading fiction books, fiction
are great if you want to just
entertain yourself, but they're reading
to learn. They're reading to improve
themselves.
What are some other habits?
Here's another
very common one. A very common one that is
just very fascinating is that, all
the most successful people, whenever I've
done the research and studied them is they
all workout every day.
They all take good care of their
bodies. They all have a habit, usually
first thing in the morning. Right? They
always do it in the morning.
Most examples that I found, they do it in
the morning. They workout, they exercise,
they take good care of their body. They all do
different things. Arianna
Huffington does yoga. Barack
Obama, he works out for 45
minutes every day, first thing in the
morning. Richard Branson
loves kitesurfing and he does that. As
well as, he likes to swim. He likes to bike
ride.
He's the founder of Virgin. He
exercises a lot. Bill Gates gets
on the treadmill every single morning.
Oprah does cardio in the
morning. She does weight training every
morning as well.
What's fascinating about this is that
these are people that are busier than
you and I. These are people that
have incredible responsibility in their
lives. They employ thousands and
thousands of people. They're worth
billions of dollars. People
think, "Oh, they just have all this free time." They
don't. They have the most insane
schedules. Are travelling all around the
world. They're still
working. Richard Branson is
still working harder today than he was
in his 20s and 30s. Warren
Buffett. Steve Wynn, who's the
founder of Wynn and built a lot of
Las Vegas. These are people that are
extremely busy people and they still
find the time to exercise. I remember,
there's a great example from Richard
Branson, the founder of Virgin. He was
asked the question, "How do you be more
productive? What's the key to
productivity in your life?" He thought
about it and he said, "To exercise." He
said, "When you exercise, you're more
productive throughout the day because
when you take good care of your body, you're
going to perform at a higher level."
You got to understand that
by taking good care of your body, your
performance improves. Your focus improves.
Your energy improves. These are all
things that contribute to productivity.
Not only that, but they also
understand the importance of health that
your health is your wealth.
These are people that are
multi-billionaires. They realize that, "I
could have all the money in the world
but if I'm not healthy, if I'm not vital,
if I'm not radiant and strong, then I'm
going to be the richest man in the
graveyard." Right? Taking good care of
your health, very important.
Exercise. Again, they've
determined that, in the morning, that's
the best time that most often that they
do it.
What are some
different habits to different people? A
few of them are a little bit interesting.
Some of them are a little bit extreme.
For example, Elon Musk who founded PayPal,
Tesla. He's doing the space
projects and stuff. Okay,
obviously, these very
successful people worked very hard to
get to where they are. Right? They made a
lot of sacrifices, but Elon Musk worked
100 hours a week for more than 15
years. A hundred hours a week for more than
15 years. Now,
that's amazing for achievement. Maybe not
as much good for fulfillment. I know he's
had a few marriages and
relationship issues and stuff, but
he's a multi-billionaire.
Working over 100 hours a week for
15 years is how he did it.
Bill Gates, when he was first
building Microsoft, he didn't believe in
vacations. He worked weekends.
He's pretty extreme as well. A
lot of these multi-billionaires they
work extremely hard. They make sacrifices.
Some of them, though, they
believe also in the
power of taking rest. Not every very
successful billionaire works
like a madman. They all work like a madman,
but some of them take the weekend off as
well. For example,
forget who was
Jack Dorsey, the
founder of Twitter. He would
take Saturday off. Then, Sunday, he
would just spend for reflection for
feedback to review the week and
prepare for Monday. That was
another common habit of some of these
successful people is they usually spend
Sundays to reflect on things and
just really take that time
to do an overview. I found that
to be a powerful habit in my life too.
At the end of every week, Sunday
or maybe it's Monday, but just
reviewing the week. Looking at what
went well. What were the wins? What were the
successes? What were the accomplishments
of the week? What could I do better? How
can I improve and
make more progress for Monday and for
next week? Taking that time to
effectively plan and strategize
in that way, I think is also a very
powerful habit that they all do.
What are some other habits?
Interesting ones of Mark Zuckerberg.
Founder of Facebook. He's got a
few interesting ones. One is that, he
wears the same thing every day.
He wears the same clothes every day.
He washes his
clothes and stuff, obviously, but he like
goes to his closet, I guess, he's got
the same shirts, the same pair of pants,
everything is the same. The reason
for that is to prevent decision fatigue.
Making decisions requires
willpower.
There's a great book called, The Willpower
Instinct. It explains that we only have
a certain amount of willpower throughout
the day. First thing in the
morning is we have the most amount
of willpower throughout the day.
It diminishes that's why
late at night, your willpower is not as
high. You might just want to watch TV or
eat, whatever, because you don't have the
willpower as much. He has realized,
and Steve Jobs is the same way, that he
just wears the same thing every day
because he doesn't want to have to think
about what to wear. He doesn't want to
spend even 5 minutes to have to try to
decide. Should I wear this or should
I wear that? He
just simplifies it and decides, "Okay, you
know what? I'm just going to wear the same thing
every single day." Steve Jobs would
even eat the same meal every day.
Just the same food every day. He
was known for just eating a lot of
carrots and vegetables. One of
his employees said that
he ate so many carrots that at one point
like he was turning orange.
Not have to think about what to eat.
Of course, we don't have to take it to
that extreme but just realizing that
we want to simplify our
lives in some ways. We don't want to have
to make as many decisions and
be overwhelmed with that and just try to
make your process of the day as simple
as possible. That's pretty
interesting habit.
Steve Jobs love listening to music. That was
a habit that he had. He said that he
doesn't find it distracting. It actually
helps his mind focus and he found it
helped him get into the rhythm
of what he was doing. That's pretty
fascinating. This is what Steve Jobs
said, he said that, "If you’re trying to
design a computer you will literally
immerse yourself in the thousands of
details necessary; all of a sudden, as the
scaffolding gets set up high enough, it
will all become clearer and clearer and
that’s when the breakthrough starts." He
said, "It is a rhythmic experience, or it is
an experience where everything is
related to everything else and it’s all
intertwined. And it’s such a fragile,
delicate experience that it’s very much like
music." That's what he had to say about .
it.
One habit of Mark Zuckerberg,
Mark Zuckerberg...
sorry totally butchered his name he sets
challenges for himself. Every
year, he sets new challenges. For
example, he set a
challenge for himself to learn Mandarin.
Then, he set one to meet a new
person every day who doesn't work at
Facebook. That was a challenge
that he had. He spent a year only
eating meat that he had killed himself.
Pretty fascinating.
He said about that,
"I spend most of my time building Facebook,
so these personal challenges are thing
that I wouldn’t normally have the chance
to do if I didn’t take the time."
He likes to challenge himself in
different ways for that.
Warren Buffett was really big on
prioritization. Prioritizing
throughout the day. Prioritizing your
goals. He has an exercise that he
recommend for all his employees, is set
the top 25 goals of your life.
He says, "Don't prioritize your schedule.
Schedule your priorities." He
asked a staff to write down top 25
career goals that you can use this for
shorter goals. You can use this for longer goals.
Whatever it is but make the top 25 goals
and then just circle the top 5 goals.
He says, you want to focus on your
top 5 goals. He says, the other
goals that you have, the other 20 goals,
they're not the goals that
you have lower priorities. He says, those are
the goals that you avoid at all cost
because he says that those are the goals that
are going to be the biggest distractions
for you. You just want to avoid
everything else and just focus and
prioritize on the most important things.
I'll give you a great story that I
also heard from Richard Branson about
prioritization. He was being sought after
by a company that wanted him to speak at
a seminar. They emailed
Richard Branson's assistant and they said, "We
want to have Richard Branson come and
speak.
We've seen him does speeches before. We
love him. We want to offer him," I
don't know, "$30,000 for
him to come and speak." His assistant
replied back, "Sorry. Richard Branson
is not available at this time to come
and speak." But they were determined. They
wanted to have Richard Branson to come and
speak so they offered him more money. I
don't remember the exact figures but
they offered him $50,000.
"We're willing to pay $50,000
to have Richard Branson to come and
speak." The assistant
responded, "Sorry. Richard
Branson's not available." Then, they were
even more determined and they offered
$100,000. "We're going to
offer $100K to have Richard
Branson come and speak." They're that
committed. The assistant responded
back
and said, "There's no amount of money that
you can offer that will make Richard
Branson come and speak at your event. And
the reason for that is because Richard
Branson right now is focused on these
specific goals and outcomes right now in
his life and he will not be distracted
from those goals and outcomes at any
cost.
So it doesn't matter how much you're
willing to offer. He'll not be
persuaded to come and speak." That's
the power of focus prioritization. He
knew what he was doing. He said no to all
the other opportunities. Often times,
most people get distracted so easily by
the shiny object syndrome. There's always
new opportunities that come up that they
don't actually achieve what
they're set out to achieve. They
set their goals at the beginning of the
year and then all of a sudden, they
get busy. Things come up.
You can't get distracted like that. You
have to focus laser in on what you want
to accomplish. Pretty fascinating
about prioritization.
Those are the main habits. I could
go on and on. There's a lot of great
books and resources that go into some of
the habits. I'll maybe link to a few
below in the video or on the blog post
here. Another book was called, I think
was called, What Successful People Do on
the Weekends. It goes into the
habits of what they do on the weekends
and there's a lot of different research
for that as well. Of course,
Stephen Covey's book, The 7 Habits of
Highly Effective People. Where
he studied the 7 habits of effective
people as well. I
find it's just really fascinating to study
and learn because you
you can model success. You can identify
the commonalities of what people do and you can
adapt those to your life.
After watching this video, maybe
you'll realize, "Okay, you know what? I need to
read more." Or, "I need to exercise.
Make that a habit." Or maybe, "It's waking
up earlier and prioritizing
things in my life." These are all
things that you can adapt to your life that
could help you be more successful.
That's primarily what I want to
encourage in this video for you
is to develop new habits. Habits can
change your life. You are
what you repeatedly do every single day.
Whatever you do is what you become.
I understand that a lot of people,
it's very easy to set these
habits or these rituals that you have,
but the challenging part for most is to
actually turn them into a consistent
ritual. Something you do every day.
Something that is going to be lasting.
A lot of people struggle with that.
I created a great course called,
Morning Ritual Mastery, and I'll link to
that below as well. It's a course
that I created. A 7-day, 7-step
process where I help over 7 days, help you
create rituals in your life. Help you
create a ritual you do first thing in the
morning because we all have rituals but
most people, their rituals are
disempowering. They wake up. They
watch the news. They eat junk food, you
know, the donuts and the sugary
cereals. All these foods
that actually take away your energy.
They check their email. They're so
reactive throughout the day. They're
stressed out. They're not spending
time to feed their minds. They're not
spending time to develop and cultivate
their body, their energy, their health,
which are all the successful things that
people do. The course that I created
helps people create a ritual but also
how to make it last. How to do a
30-day morning ritual challenge is something
I have included in the course. I
share with you how you can create these
rituals for your mind, your body, and your
spirit.
How to actually change your
beliefs, your mindset about creating these
rituals. How to make it a must. How to
have accountability. All the things that
I found to help you actually stick with
these rituals long term
in your life because those are the
things that people struggle with most.
If you guys want to check it out, I
want to reference that in this video. Just
click the link in the description to
learn more about it. It's a fairly
inexpensive course but it's powerful.
We've had over 1,000 people go
through it that love it. Shared a lot of
great success and testimonials with it
as well. Check it out. If you guys
enjoyed this video, make sure to hit the
thumbs up. The thumbs up is
kind of like giving an applause if I were to
speak at an event so I appreciate any
applause or a thumbs up.
Make sure to leave a comment below. If
you know habits that you have that are
beneficial, I'd love to hear what they are.
Leave a comment below. Leave a comment if
there's other habits.
I know I missed out a lot. There's a lot of
habits they have but I'd love for
you to share or contribute to this

subscribe for more videos like this as
well. Thank you guys for watching so
much. I'll see you in the next video.
