The Future Of Kindle Publishing

hey everyone Stefan here from
projectlifemastery.com in this Kindle
Q&A video I'm gonna answer a question
that someone asked me about the future
of Kindle publishing you know this
person was publishing on Kindle for a
few months now and they wanted to know
my opinion of where I believe that
Kindle publishing is going in 2015 2016
and you know for years to come and you
know it's something that I've thought
about a lot because I've been involved
in Kindle publishing for about three
years now and I've seen the evolution of
Kindle over those last few years and of
course it's only speculation on my
behalf cuz I don't really know where
it's gonna go but I can just you know
follow the trend of it only you know
people that are involved in Amazon know
what they're gonna do with it and
everything but I'll just show you my
perspective on it so one I believe that
Kindle publishing is a growing trend the
evidence is there I could show you
charts of this
we're basically paperback books are
slowly slowly slowly dying unfortunately
you know bookstores are closing down
they're finding it harder and harder to
compete with you know devices like
Kindle and Kindle is bigger than all of
their competitors combined so Kindle is
really the go-to platform in terms of
where people go to buy digital ebooks
and basically what's happening like I
said paper black backs are dying and
it's really the older generation
primarily you know our parents and our
grandparents and whatnot that are still
reading paperback books I know I do
understand the younger generation still
does but the young generation people
that are growing up in high school you
know unit university getting to the 20s
and 30s now we're basically being
trained and conditioned by society to
consume information and digital formats
right we read things on our computers on
our iPads on our iPhones and of course
on our Kindle devices as well but you
know on our iPads or iPhones we're able
to read books from Kindle also so that's
a core thing is how people are consuming
information the Internet is changing
that in a big way not only in that but
having physical paperback books is
actually a problem for the environment
as well because
a lot of books that get produced in
paperback form just go to waste
you know waste bins and stuff like that
and you know it's affecting our entire
ecosystem on this planet so the rule is
making that transition it is evolving
and right now the truth is Kindle is
only really big in the United States I
live in Canada I work with people you
know all over the world from Asia to
Europe to South America Australia all
over the world and really the United
States is the biggest market of Kindle
after that is the United Kingdom and
then after that you know probably Canada
after that and in other parts of Europe
and with Amazon and Kindle they're
growing rapidly and you might not think
it's really big you know where you live
and stuff but it is slowly growing and I
believe over years five ten years from
now it's gonna be pretty mainstream in
all the countries around the world and
again the evidence of that has just been
going skyward like this you know
Amazon's been expanding in Australia and
India really all over the world in all
these different countries and it's gonna
take a while for it to catch up the
United States but it is heading in that
direction so I believe the trend of
Kindle is just we haven't even seen the
true potential of it and so that's why I
believe the power and getting involved
in something like this now because the
trend is just going up it's just
exploding and if you publish books now
on Kindle you can benefit passive income
from that for years and years years to
come now who knows how technology will
change maybe some new revolutionary
concept comes out where you can all of a
sudden you don't have to read books
anymore you can just upload you know the
book to your brain or something like
that
and you know even if something like that
does eventually come out which I'm sure
it will right within ten years or
something like that then it would still
take a while to weed out Kindle and make
that transition similar to the
transition of paperback to Kindle right
now whatever it comes up after that
would have to slowly read Oh Kindle
which would still probably be another
decade or so
so Kindle is on the up-and-up it's
growing it's expanding anybody that's
doing Kindle publishing today in this
business the future looks very very
bright for you
optimistic about the the direction of
Amazon Amazon doesn't even make money on
Kindle by the way they don't make money
from their Kindle devices or their
Kindle books they actually lose money
and the reason is they are very
aggressive and growth they're taking
whatever money that they're making and
they're reinvesting it to expand in all
these different markets and so it's
great to partner with a business like
that that is growing and being
aggressive in that way because everyone
is going to benefit from that all
publishers authors that are publishing
on Kindle are going to benefit from the
future of Kindle and what Amazon is
doing so I think that is really really
big ok another thing that's worth
considering as well is audiobooks
because I really believe audiobooks is
also the next big trend into the future
as well and audio right now it's a
little bit behind on Kindle but it is
growing pretty fast and Amazon owns a CX
KAC XCOM and that's their platform for
publishing audiobooks on audible and
iTunes and especially now with the
emergence of podcasts you know people
are consuming more and more information
just listening to it because a lot of
people they like to listen to audiobooks
podcast when they're at the gym when
they're going for a walk when they're
driving when they're traveling whatever
it is so I really believe the power of
audible as well and I think that's
another huge growing trend and I've been
publishing the number of audiobooks if
you follow my goals reports for a while
now and I've been making a lot of money
on audible because it's largely untapped
and you know the audiobooks that i'm
publishing today as well as the kindle
books I have Kindle books that I
published two years ago that still
continue making me money month after
month passive income no maintenance
whatsoever that I just set it and forget
it and that's the great thing even with
audible is whatever work that you're
putting in now you're gonna enjoy the
benefits from it for years and years and
years to come
even if yours from now it just makes you
a couple of dollars here and there you
know it's still bringing you a return on
your investment from what you invested
in on those Kindle books so that's kind
of my mindset my approach on it of how
I've approached Kindle and audible is
seeing the long-term potential of it
building up the quality of my books of
course your books do have to be
quality for the long run building up the
Amazon reviews the authority of it
building up the paperback version as
well as the audio version of it and just
making my books into authoritative books
that will be around for years and years
and years to come
now I explain this inside my K money
mastery program that it is short term
mentality if I'm just gonna publish a
crappy book and do the bare minimum on
it then of course it might make you a
little bit of money in the short term
but in the long run it's not going to be
around to benefit from the massive
growth the Amazon is having but if you
take the right approach of what I teach
and you you invest the time the money
you build it up you're making the third
hit a book a book that you're proud of
that's great and you build up the
rankings of that then you're gonna
benefit from that in terms a passive
income from years and years and years to
come
as Amazon gross because if you've got
that book that's there selling it's just
gonna make money as Amazon grows because
all the some people are gonna find it in
India and Australia and Canada as more
and more people get their Kindle devices
for Christmas on their birthdays or
whatever it is again it's gonna benefit
everybody so so that's my belief I I do
believe Kindles just really the
beginning stages of it right now and you
know I know people that you know back in
2013 that got started in Kindle
publishing when I start teaching it that
are just making ridiculous amounts of
money today that haven't even touched it
they just published some books back when
I taught it in 2013 and then left it and
they're still making passive income from
it which is pretty insane and it's
making more I know more people are
making more today than ever before back
two years ago when I 2 or 3 years ago
when I started with with Kindle
publishing just because of the growth
and the potential of all the different
markets on Amazon have just exploded
since then you know so I actually think
it's easier to make money today with
Kindle publishing than it was three
years ago and of course I don't know I
didn't know back then what I know today
so that could be a factor as well maybe
if I knew what I knew now and it could
go back in time three years ago I'd be
making way more but I just see I'm just
seeing the massive growth of Amazon and
Kindle and I just believe in that
potential the future of it looking
really really good
for anyone that's getting started in it
so I believe it's a long-term passive
income stream
of course it's hard to speculate more
than ten years out because like I said
who knows if people just can be
uploading information to their brain but
I believe for the next 10 years this can
be great and then who knows that for ten
years from now that's worth assessing
and I do recommend from people that do
make money on any online business
because the Internet is always changing
is you want to take some of the money
you want to obviously reinvest it back
into your business but you also want to
take some of that money and invest it
offline investing whether it's in real
estate or stocks and diversified right
income and that's exactly what I've done
I've made a lot of money online I invest
some of that into other online
businesses but I also take some of that
and I invest it offline as well just so
you're diversified in case anything does
change with technology down the road
okay so hopefully this answers your
question and gives you a clearer idea
and hope and confidence in Kindle
publishing for the future thank you for
watching this video I'll see you in the
next one
